Battle Dice - 5 - Fail! - no damage

Perhaps still due to her leg, she missed the attack and was right by the kobold. The only thing she could do is try to knock it down using her other leg. The kobold tried to charge "Skull Cracker", but it was intercepted by Hikari sweeping its legs, knocking it on the ground. Her pain almost gone, though her health remained the same, she stood up and stabbed the kobold in the shins: "Revenge from before... I suppose"

Battle Dice - 10 - Crit! - 1+2 damage

Its legs completely slashed away, the kobold gave a shriek of pain as they faded into blue and exploded into polygons. Though it could still attack with its pick using momentum or throwing it, and that's exactly what it did, it grabbed its pick and threw it at Hikari, giving it enough time to regenerate its legs. Hikari was now shocked to see its legs back, but the same thing happened to her thigh; while the pain went away, the damage stayed and the enemy's health was now down to a measly quarter with just one critical. Now they were facing each other, just as before, a stare-down was happening, and none of them was willing to lose. Hikari charged first, charging her "Linear" and unleashing it once she passed the kobold.

Battle Dice - 3 - Fail! - No damage

The kobold managed to strike away Hikari's attack in the nick of time, avoiding damage and then charged at her with its own "Skull Cracker". She managed to dodge, this was an attack that she'd experienced several times before and knew exactly how to avoid it. With it pickax stuck in the ground, the kobold was a sitting duck, Hikari ran up to him and used her "Triangle Slash" on it.

She watched again as the blue light faded and the HUD appeared in front of her, stating: 2x "Iron Scraps" Hikari was overjoyed, it made up for the first kobold not dropping any. She remembered suddenly about her level up and went straight to the skill tree to spend a point in her "One-Handed Straight Sword" skill, which still needed three more points to level up again, though she'd gain a new sword skill from investing it, the sword skill "Circle". She tried out this new "Circle" of hers in an open space. She readied her blade, swinging it to the side, where it began to shine a crimson red, she unleashed it soon after, causing her to make a full circle around herself while staying on point. She imagined it was a downgraded form of the skills the miners used, as it did only one rotation, but it did have its good side, as you wouldn't spin around like a top if you used it, making it easy to aim. She knew this skill would be useful later and checked the tree again, her next sword skill would be after investing nine points in the tree, making it still pretty far away. Content with the progress she made, Hikari sat down beneath a tree and waited for more kobolds to pass.

It didn't take a while until another kobold miner showed up, after all, they were the only monster outside the caves in this region. The enemy was alone, which meant it would be easy to take out. Hikari charged towards it and immediately tried to slash its stomach.

The attack missed entirely, it was just a basic slash, anyway, so she didn't feel too bad, though it did catch the attention of the miner. The first thing it did was charge for a "Skull Cracker", not realizing just how much trouble that would be for Hikari. The answer would be, of course, none, these enemies were predictable and slow, so she just simply dodged to the side while the kobold smashed its pick into the ground, trapping it. As always, this was a prime opportunity, this guy had just spawned, so it was nowhere near as smart as the other one she just fought. While the miner was still trying to dislodge its pick, Hikari simply tried out her new "Circle".

The move hit it straight in its snout, knocking its pick free in the process and taking away a quarter of its health away. Now that it was free, the miner tried for his own "Circle", though what it didn't know was Hikari had slaughtered a few of its kind already, and besides, she had the move herself. Quickly, before it unleashed it, Hikari used her favorite, "Brilliant Storm" to try and stun it.

"Damn it" Hikari was annoyed as she closed the HUD that, once again... gave nothing to her. The remains of the bright blue light finally dispersed, Hikari returned to her spot under the tree, awaiting her prince terrifying once again. While waiting, she pondered on a lot of things. "Ugh... is this really all there is to do? I mean, it's fun but it gets boring once in a while." Her silver white hair flowed in the wind while she waited. "I hope there's at least a book store or something, there isn't even an internet browser..." She was already quite annoyed with the luck she was getting with the drops and that made her quite moody. Hikari was always like this alone, when among other people, she's quiet but when she's alone or with her best friends she lets loose very easily, revealing a very quirky and fun person.

It was starting to get boring, she never really liked waiting and was always very impatient as a kid. Though she's better now, knowing that she's waiting for something potentially useless is quite annoying for her, though the reward she gets is very good and would allow her to finally make a difference. A "few" minutes later, a kobold miner just happened to spawn right by her. Hikari was startled, of course, and readied her sword. Though she was more surprised the miner who was clearly looking at her right when it spawned simply ignored her. "H-huh?" She figured out that a "Kobold Miner" is what's know as a passive mob, though with a special characteristic, the miner only attacks if it is attacked or other miners are attacked around it. She figured that out thanks to her previous battle against two kobolds, where she attacked one of them first, then the other came charging at her. No matter now, though, she needed to kill this one quickly to get her scraps of iron. She simply poked it a bit with her sword and the miner was already "agroed" on her, trying to use "Skull Cracker", like its stupid brothers. Again, Hikari simply dodged to the side and attacked while her opponent was stuck removing its pick.

Combat Dice - 1 - Epic Fail! - no damage

Hikari had gotten cocky lately, her attack missed entirely and hit another tree, which, again, did not drop any fruit. Her opponent was already ready to fight and was currently charging another "Skull Cracker". This time, while dodging, she made sure she was right behind the enemy, attacking the base of its neck, the only part void of armor on its back.

The attack just missed the neck and slid straight to the front of the miner, when he promptly grabbed it and threw Hikari on the ground in front of it. "Damn, these things are wicked strong" She said while watching her health lower a bit. The miner prepared another "Skull Cracker", but thanks to its slowness, Hikari was able to roll aside and get up, attempting to hit the enemy's back with a "Circle".

While using circle, Hikari forgot to account for the length of her sword, about a meter in length, it wasn't near enough to hit the enemy, who dislodged its pick and jumped back to initiate its own "Circle" While Hikari knew this was a dangerous attack, she needed to stop it or else she wouldn't be able to run from it. Clinging to hope that the last few strikes were a spurt of bad luck, Hikari attempted to use her favorite "Brilliant Storm".

As soon as she saw her "Brilliant Storm" not connect, she attempted to jump back but even this was not enough to stop damage as she was hit and knocked out of the attack's range. she still had a bit more than half her life remaining, so she tried again for a different attack, if only she could stun the enemy, she'd be able to defeat it no problem. As soon as the miner finished its attack, Hikari unleashed the "Linear" she had been charging on its legs.

(OOC: Damn you, RNG!)

The kobold was able to swiftly dodge the attack and tried to counter with one of its own basic strikes. This strike was avoided by simply jumping back a bit. Though Hikari knew that these enemies were very slow, she also now knew that their power is tremendous and is probably the most dangerous enemy of Floor 1's fields. As the enemy was recovering from the strike, Hikari moved behind the enemy and used her final technique, the "Triangle Slash", to try and finally take some health away from it.

Combat Dice - 9 - Crit! - 1+1 damage

(OOC: Thank you!)

This attack finally connected, taking away about half the monsters health in a critical hit. Hikari was getting happier now, though maintained the same level of caution as she had before. The kobold started charging a move again, this time it was "Skull Cracker", Hikari knew that she could dodge this attack no problem, no matter what happens. As usual, she dodged to the side and tried unleashing her "Brilliant Storm" once again.

The attack connected but failed to completely deplete the enemies health, though she was getting excited to finally end this quest that took two whole days to complete. The move was avoided and the enemy attempted to counter, Hikari blocking the attack with her shield, negating damage, and knocked away the opponent, though not stunning it. They were at a stare-down now, same as the last fight, this one had gone on long enough, it needed finishing. As soon as she saw the enemy charge, Hikari dashed past it, avoiding the attack, and attempted a slash at its back.

When she saw the HUD appear, she couldn't help but punch the tree right next to her. The enemy was now nothing more than a fading baby blue light, even its iron scraps were gone with it. "God damn it!" She couldn't help it, she was furious, it was her hardest battle yet but no reward was dropped, not even for the completion of a quest. "Damn it, who decides the drops, anyway?! It must be some RNG or something." Hikari had had tremendously bad luck in this fight, it just seemed the enemy was on a whole different level and it got worse and worse as the fight went on. She sat down to calm herself, this tree wasn't actually that uncomfortable, it felt nice. Hikari was not a normal player of SAO, her original character was male, that's why she doesn't wear a skirt, but when she looked upon the mirror at Kayaba Akihiko's announcement, her character changed genders, even. She was bored, so bored that she started remembering the past. Another few minutes passed, the kobolds were getting scarce, as if someone had been farming them. In a twist of luck, one lone kobold passed by Hikari, who was finishing recovering. She started getting up and drawing her sword, now much more calm than before and, before it had a chance to react, she attacked the miner using a "Linear"

The move was successful and ended up stunning the enemy kobold for a few seconds. After it recovered, it started charging its "Circle" attack. Hikari knew what this meant, and most of all, she knew the range the skill had. Quickly, before it unleashed it, Hikari ducked behind the tree she was just resting on, attacking as soon as it was finished with a "Circle" of her own.

Once again, she neglected her sword's length, making it so the move barely missed the enemy. The kobold, on the other hand, was just finishing charging a "Skull Cracker", though it was a slow jump and Hikari managed to drop and roll away to avoid damage. She knew this attack so well, she could say she could replicate it perfectly, albeit a bit faster. Hikari got up, charged upon the miner, jumped up, and came crashing down on it.
