Katoka 0 Posted June 26 #1 Share Posted June 26 (edited) Normally spending time on the 28th floor would activate Katoka's pumpkin spice neuron. Sadly after her encounter in the woods with crystal infested wolves ruined the perfectly good vibes of the entire place. Now she stood in Glyndebourne, watching the various NPCs as they paraded about as if there wasn't the impending threat of infected monsters or weird mirror knights. "Honestly, when doesn't this damn game impose some sort of world altering event that could kill us all?" The samurai took a sip of the coffee she had bought (she was still going to enjoy her pumpkin spice) while she sat on a bench waiting for her friends. She had sent out a message before coming that she needed a hand dealing with the meat man. After all, Raidou had scolded her for not having the items she needed to do big damage despite being the Captain of the Assault Squad. Now was the time to get her hands on this freaks meat hook so that she wouldn't have to come back here again. A shiver went down her spin thinking about what she had heard from Freyd when he fought this guy. "One and done. Then I don't have to worry about him anymore." ---- Katoka Consumes: Titan's Strength | Damage 3 | 245350 Well-Done Steak | Protein 2 | 191000 Gungir Shard 239050 | Sharkcuterie Board | T1 Demonic Feast (6/6) | ACC II | EVA II | ID: 239171 Event Using 20 sp to purchase: ► Biting Cost: 20 SP Passive Effect: Player gains +2 Base Damage Katoka | HP: 840/840 | EN: 118/118 | DMG: 30 | MIT:38 | ACC:7 | EVA:3 | BH:46 | REC: 8 | FLN: 16 | HLY: 16 Spoiler Name: Katoka, The Cerulean Storm True Tier: 7 Level: 34 Paragon Level: 34 HP: 840/840 EN: 118/118 Stats: Damage: 23+2(skill)+2+3=30 Mitigation: 78-40=38 Accuracy: 5+2=7 Evasion: 1+2=3 Battle Healing: 46 Stealth Rating: -2 REC: 8 FLN: 16 HLY: 16 Equipped Gear: Weapon/Armor/Trinket: - Muramasa's Legacy | T4/Demonic/Katana | Holy II, Fallen II Armor/Trinket: - Oni Haori | T4/Demonic/Light Armor | MIT 2, REC 2 Shield/Armor/Trinket: - Aquamarine | T4 Demonic Trinket | ACC III, EVA I Combat Mastery: - Combat Mastery: Damage R3 Combat Shift: - ST Shift Familiar Skill: - Rending Familiar Custom Skill: - Skills: - Battle Healing R5 - Charge - Energist - Extended Weight Limit - Katana R5 - Light Armor R5 Extra Skills: - Survival - Concentration - Forgotten King's Authority - Photosynthesize Inactive Extra Skills: - Frozen Hide Addons: - Ferocity - Precision - Resolve - Stamina Mods: - Meticulous Inactive Mods: Battle Ready Inventory: - Crystal of the Blood Dragon Horde | Mass HP recovery 10% x4 - Rhino's Horn | 235487c x5 - Teleportation Crystal x1 - Tincture of Recovery | HP Recovery 15% x5 - Trolls Blood | 235486c x1 Housing Buffs: - Bedroom: -1 energy cost for the first two expenditures of each combat - Bathroom: The first time you would suffer DoT damage in a thread, reduce damage taken from DoT each turn by 20% (rounded down) - Basic Kitchen: Increase the effectiveness of a single food item consumed in a thread by +1 T1 slot. Wulfrin 0 Posted June 26 #2 Share Posted June 26 (edited) "Hey kat," Wulfrin spoke announcing his presence. "Long time no see. What brings you to Glyndebourne?" Wulfrin stood before Katoka in a different gear set than the last raid. Now he was clad in a combination of his old red attire, his previous all black aesthetic, and blackened steel plates. Wulfrin's Blade of Zariel radiated light from over his shoulder as he approached. The smallest hit of stubble starting to grace his chin. He looked battle hardened, but yet in the days since the previous raid on this floor, Wulfrin's sorrow filled demeanor had all but faded. He was dressed for a mission, and judging by Kat's appearance, so was she. "Wait let me guess," Wulfrin started to speak up acting on a hunch. "you wouldn't happen to be trying to sneak a quick fight with the Ripper are you? I was just about to head that way myself. Perhaps we can take him down together?" Wulfrin tapped the shard of metal hanging from the simple chain around his neck and manifested a large platter of meats and cheeses. Freyd 0 Posted June 26 #3 Share Posted June 26 (edited) "I swear you trade fashions more frequently than most women I know," Freyd chuckles with playful mockery, as he stepped from the shadows behind the nearest booth to join them. The man just never seemed to use doors, like normal people. Even the barkeep seemed thrown off, unaccustomed to patrons being in his bar whom he hadn't see arrive, and doling out a skewering stink-eye towards the Whisper for having escaped his sentinel gaze. "It suits you," the hints of a smirk creeping along the edges of his lips. "Always nice to see kids growing up." The metal mitt over his hand mussed up Katoka's perfectly coifed hair for good measure, trusting heavy armor to offer better protection against the inevitable elbow to his ribs. It seemed better to actually draw some pleasure from earning it, since it was always going to happen. "You've come far, both of you." A more serious tone, tinged with pride at their progress matched the softening of eyes that belied his unnaturally aged appearance. "Wind gave word that you were both thinking of taking down the Ripper. I've been checking on field bosses in the wake of these Spectral Knight attacks. Goodness knows what they might do if one of them was converted into a knight." He let that sink in for a moment. "Yeah. They're infectious, consuming other mobs to make more of themselves. Very high on today's 'Not-Good' index, as you might imagine." A flick of the wrist offered his own contributions to their improvised buffet, even as a steaming cup of coffee appeared in his hand, only irking the barkeep that much more than before. *** Note: CS (Shades of the Gemini) and CSA (Beckon the Void) are in use. KnightessCiela 0 Posted Friday at 10:49 PM #4 Share Posted Friday at 10:49 PM (edited) Wulfrin had invited her to a last minute boss run with Katoka and Freyd. Definitely a team that would be unforgettable. Their target was the Floor 29 boss, the Midnight Ripper, and while the name alone would make most players shudder, Ciela wasn’t as nervous as she might’ve been. Freyd had apparently soloed the boss before, which gave her a strange sort of reassurance. If anything, she was just happy to be included, to matter enough to be invited into a squad like this. She hadn’t seen Katoka since the wedding, and now that she thought about it, she really missed her. Life had been a whirlwind since that day, prepping for raids, rebuilding after the Crimson Fang mess, keeping the bakery afloat. Catching up would be nice. Ciela crept up behind Wulfrin and covered his eyes, smiling to herself. “Guess who,” she murmured, her voice light with affection. Fashionably late, but ready. * * * Total SP: 185 Using 15 SP Reflective [7 * Tier Thorns = 28 Thrns]: 10 SP Keen Sight[+2 LD to Searching, Gathering, Detection, and Loot Checks]: 5 SP KnightessCiela consumes a portion of her and Freyd's gungnir - 1 portion taken and shared with others KnightessCiela's Gungnir: The Very Innapropriately Shaped Glizzy | ID: 245863 | T4 Demonic Feast (6/6) | MIT III (Filled) | OH 1 | 1 portion - (5/6 Remain) [desc.] Too lewd and inappropriate for the System to render fully. Katoka 0 Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM Author #5 Share Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM A smile pulled at the corners of Katoka's mouth as everyone arrived one by one. She reached out and traded grips with Wulfrin, the man that had changed so much in such a short amount of time. Even since the fight with Callisto he had become someone that anyone in Aincrad could rely on. Freyd had complimented them both, giving the samurai a swelling sense of pride in her chest. Of everyone that was here he had changed the most of course, having brushed so close to death. She pouted as he mussed her hair, making sure to dig her elbow into his ribs despite the armor. She still smiled, she wouldn't let many people touch her head like that, Freyd had earned that. Ciela arrived fashionably late, but in Katoka's eyes it was right on time. She hugged the women, apologizing for not seeing her more often. She would have to make time to have her over for tea sometime soon. "Yeah, this'll do." she said proudly, looking over the lot of them. "I mean with Freyd alone we could have taken care of this guy, but with this team I think we'll wipe the floor quickly." Kat turned to Freyd, "You want to lead the way? I think you had a run in with this guy before most folks did."
Freyd 0 Posted 5 hours ago #6 Share Posted 5 hours ago "Hai!" A cheerful short bow given to his fellow captain's orders, it seemed only fair to show such respect after messing with her. This was their way, and he wouldn't change it for the world. "We'll find this butcher at a slaughterhouse about a mile from Glyndebourne - just far enough to keep the wind from carrying the smell. And gird your stomach's if you're at all squeamish. This place is quite the sight." Last time he visited Freyd defeated the Midnight Ripper, only to find himself what could only be described as a horde of meat golems. Creatures of all shapes and sizes, all had been stripped of skin and left to bleed out, some for too long. The grim rictus gutwrench of rot was upon most, making it hard not to wretch by proximity alone. Though he knew it was just another avatar skin layered on by Cardinal's whims, Freyd felt the wrongness of it all far beyond mere superficial disgust. It wasn't necessary in the slightest, just provocative for its own sake. "He's big, but he's also fast - like, player level fast. I've seen frontliners far more sluggish than this mob. Which leaves us with two choices." Walking and talking all at once, Freyd led them away from the town. Past experiences still left him mistrusting its supposed safety, especially in light of what was happening just one floor above. "We can aim to stun lock him and whittle him down, Spectral Knights styles, or take our chances on letting him poke himself on Ciela's pokier bits." They couldn't see his grin, but he knew they'd appreciate the reference to her new armor and saucy personality alike. "I'd recommend the former. He can apply quite the pile of debuffs if allowed. It's one thing if he just gets his licks in, but I'm not sure enabling it would be wise in this case. If we can stun, that means we might not need anyone to tank him at least for the opening moves." A sideways glance to Wulfrin. "Think you can carve us an opening? Or would you prefer me to snare him with a bear trap to set the stage? As gruesome as his lair might be, I think this mob might actually appreciate the brutality of those devices, even applied against him."
Wulfrin 0 Posted 4 hours ago #7 Share Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Wulfrin smiled at all the familiar faces joining up for an adventure into a slaughterhouse straight out of a slasher film. Freyd presented two options, the first stunning the boss and the second letting Ciela practice tanking a bit. Wulfrin placed his hand to his chin as they walked in deep contemplation. If Freyd's data could be relied on, which Wulfrin did without question mind you, this Butcher could get out of hand fast. As far as Wulfrin knew, Freyd was one of, if not the only, player to take on the field boss of floor 28. "I vote for both," Wulfrin replied as the slaughterhouse drew closer. "I can provide the initial opening. If we can keep it locked down long enough Ciela may not need to tank. In the event we can't bring it down fast enough, I'll drop a couple bear traps to keep him from gaining too much ground in which case, Ciela can play the absolute M1 Abrams that she is." Wulfrin flung the doors open of the slaughterhouse open with dramatic flare, only to quickly fight back the need to hurl. The smell was terrible. Unrefrigerated decay covered the walls and half devoured carcasses filled the area hanging from rusted meat hooks. This place was the living definition of a health code violation, and Cardinal was leaving no detail unturned. Wulfrin pressed deeper into the slaughterhouse until he came face to face with the butcher himself. With a grin, the field boss's hp bars surged to life. In a flash it was gone, faster than Wulfrin had anticipated. "Change of plan," Wulfrin called out rapidly moving to attack position. "Trap first then stun." Wulfrin darted from place to place using the shadows to his advantage. Wulfrin weaved in and out of the darkness as if he and the shadows were one in a desperate attempt to gain some ground. Each jump through shadows was taxing, but the reward was satisfying. Wulfrin gained just enough ground to plant his one rusted bear trap in the field boss's path. With a satisfying latching sound, the Midnight Ripper was forced to halt in its tracks, its left leg caught in Wulfrin's trap. "Enough cat and mouse," Wulfrin panted in a desperate attempt to regain his breath. Wulfrin's Blade of Zariel burst to life with the light of the stunning sword art awarded to anyone who maxed their weapon skill. In a few quick strikes, the boss was left struggling to regain its equilibrium. "Now's your chance! For every point of damage dealt by [Blight 2] the Midnight Ripper recovers an equal amount of HP. Purify/Antidote will remove/block the [Blight] but not the [Shatter]. Sinister Grin | Whenever the Midnight Ripper rolls a CD: 10+ on an attack, as a free action after his attack he inflicts [Paralyze] on one victim using his LD the below table to determine the target: LD: 1-5 (Player 1) LD: 6-10 (Player 2) LD: 11-15 (Player 3) LD: 16-20 (Player 4) These values are determined by the order at which players joined the thread the Midnight Ripper is spawned in. In the event of less than 4 players being present, when the LD would land where there is no player, this ability fails to function. If the players present exceed 4 (I.E. 5), they are ignored. Letting | On a BD 9, Midnight Ripper applies [Bleed 4] to his victim (96 unmitigated damage over 2 turns) CHAIN THEM UP! | On a BD 10, Midnight Ripper strikes all available targets and applying [Rend 2] (56 unmitigated damage over 2 turns) in addition to standard damage. Wearing Bloodclot makes the target immune to this effect. Tier Lock | For the duration of the fight, all of the participants’ stats that scale with Tier are calculated as though they’re Tier 4. [DMG/MIT/BLEED enhancements etc.] This skill only locks downward. Those at Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 will still have T1, T2, or T3 stats, respectively.
