[OP-F2] Darkness (PM for Invite) (Complete)

[Oikawa 1]

Oikawa watched as things seemed to escalate once more. Reluctantly, Kotori decided to take the potions and quiet for the time being. Kiru then lashed out at X before turning to Oikawa and affirming that neither of them should take action or their friendship wouldn't mean a thing. The blonde simply nodded and focused once more on Kotori. Ignoring her sudden introduction, Oikawa heard the patter of dog steps as Maruchan returned. X once more made some insensitive comments to which Oikawa simply shook his head. This idiot has no filter apparently. Just stay calm. get through today. That's all you have to do.

 

Suddenly the newest and quietest addition to the group seemed to realize just exactly who Kiru was and began mumbling about some incident the two were involved in. What is this Mari incident everyone is on about? I'll have to ask Cal sometime...

 

Yelling then erupted from behind him as Kotori flew off the handle yelling at X once again. Once she had got it all out of her system, Oikawa turned to face her and just looked her in the eyes. Then he hugged her. Upon the embrace he whispered. "Hey stop wasting your breath on X. He isn't worth it. Especially not if we have to deal with Kiru because of him. I recognize her strength and I think it'd be in our best interests to just leave this situation. Thank you for having my back."

 

Letting go, he watched to see her reaction. Things just refuse to go as planned here. One day X'll get what's coming to him. But until then, I'll just need to stay away from him.

From behind me I could hear the pattering of tiny footsteps, Maruchan was back. He didn't bring back popcorn though, too bad for X. The dog went to where X was in the tree and gave him whatever snack he snatched in the town. For a moment he sat there, praising the dog quietly. I scoffed when he began yelling at Oikawa again, he was really getting annoying now. This kid had no idea what a mute button was. I rolled my eyes and called up to him. "X, stop trying to instigate a fight, your'e gonna get hurt. But, if you really want one come down here and strike me." I said, half meaning it, but half joking. This could go one of two ways, he actually does come down or he stays there and laughs about it. Hopefully the latter. Following his little joke he became serious in the blink of an eye, saying that he and Maruchan would find Keith. I nodded slowly and bit my lip, thinking of Keith again.

 

My memories were soon interuppted by Hikoru. Up until now he was frozen, unable to move due to the chaos. That suddenly changed when he pointed a finger at me, widened eyes. As soon as he mentioned Mari I frowned. "Apparently I came late to the scene because from what saw everyone there was about to kill her. I did act violently and hurt some people but at the time Mari and I were close. If you saw a friend being attacked you wouldn't stand there and question it, you'd just jump in and start stabbing. That has changed now, so you don't really have to fear me in that sense." I said, remembering that day. Oh...what a time I had. First I attacked Daeron, started a brawl, then Mari got a little to close to me and made me pass out. It wasn't something I wanted to remember, and it definitely wasn't something I wanted other people to remember. It was just one of those things that needed to be buried or left unspoken. "Nope, I'd freak out if I saw Mari...well I wouldn't freak out...I'd probably turn in the other direction. But yeah.." I then looked at Kotori, who was now yelling at X. I sighed, yet another person to not like X. After she finished her little tantrum Oikawa suppressed her in an embrace. Just seeing the way he held Kotori made my heart yearn for Keith. I had gone almost a week without being genuinely hugged by anyone except Zerlius, and if I do say so myself it was getting lonely. I cleared my throat and looked away from them.

I laughed as Kiru told me to strike her. She obviously was joking because she knows how afraid I am of her. Besides I wouldn't attack Kiru even if I was stronger than her. Maruchan then began growing restless and climbed onto my head.

"Hahaha hey take it easy something's gonna happen soon." I told him as I scratched behind his ear.

Then Oikawa of course out in his two cents which was worth literally less than a penny. He had like what? One job, a single solitary duty, literally the only thing he had to do. Which was to not be a pyscopath. No matter what, had he not done that none of this huge mess would have happened. Then kotori began yelling at me looking very "fierce" or whatever they call it now a days.

"Ooohhh that was worth the price of admission hahaha!" I joked as I popped a piece of whatever the hell maruchan brought me into my mouth.

Then when Oikawa hugged her he just made it way to easy for me.

"Ha yeah could have done that when a knife was flying at her. Psyco-kawa lookin ass lettin his own girlfriend take a knife." I said not meaning to roast Oikawas life but, theoretically end his whole career.

Agitated, Oikawa glared up at X. "I should've yet for some reason I couldn't. However, I could also kill you where you stand but I don't because I'm not that type of person. Anyway I'm through with this little meet up." Turning to Kotori, he spoke once more. "As for you missy, try to stay out of trouble. I have a few errands to run but afterwards I'll be out on the fourth floor. I'm thinking of moving my shop there. If you like, you can come with." The suggestion of company wasn't originally planned, but he really didn't want to leave her here with X.

 

Looking over his shoulder, he eyed Kiru and said "Well I'm certainly glad to see you're alright. Furthermore, I'm glad you haven't lost your edge. I wish you the best in locating Keith-senpai. And when you find him, remind him that he was suppose to be my mentor, but at this rate I'll be surpassing him soon enough haha." 

 

Now will Kotori leave with me or will she stay behind?

A soup of emotions went through Kotori's mind the second Oikawa decided to wrap his arms around her and embrace her fully. Saying it was unexpected would be undermining it. It was a complete out of blue movement by part of the boy. A light red blush covered the entirety of her cheeks and her mouth gaped wide open, complimenting the surprise that filled her eyes. She was not only filled with shock, but also a deep yearning for the hug to continue. It was odd, to say at the least. So instead of just standing there in shock like a mindless idiot, the girl decided to hug back instead with a little smile visible for all to see. She actually enjoyed his successful attempt at calming her down. Now, X didn't seem that important anymore, at this point he was just trying to keep the attention on him and be noticed for something. His comments and laughter was most likely a way for him to seem important, but now she actually felt a little bit of pity for the young boy. The only person who will probably stick by his side forever would be his dog, but nobody could know if he was ever going to live long enough to survive the game with his owner.

 

"Listen, I really don't care anymore, but I feel I'm obliged to respond simply because you want attention. The knife would've never penentrated me had you not been here. So he has nothing to do with that, he doesn't have to move a finger if I get hurt. I was responsible since I lashed out and attacked you." Kotori spoke as she face the boy in the trees. She turned towards Oikawa, her smile gone but her happiness still present. "I would actually love to go with you, it'll be fun!" she exclaimed looking at him. Maybe the end of the day wouldn't turn out as bad as she originally thought. At this moment she decided that just about doing anything with Oikawa would be fun.

Hikoru watched in silence as the others talked, he knew he really wasn't the most talkative person, but the akwardness of the situation and the anger made it impossible to speak a word. He tried, but was completely unable to. He walked over to a nearby tree and climbed up, finding nothing better to do, and hung by his feet, starting to silently nod off, but he woke up quickly and stayed alert, as he knew that new people couldn't always be trusted. He watched in the darkness and he pulled out his knife Back Biter and slowly rubbed the sides of it, trying to feel comfort, and then put it back, as he knew he probably looked quite menacing with it.

 

"Come on Hikoru." He though to himself "Try to say something here." and as he was about to say something, everyone started to talk once more, and he shut his mouth. He wasn't one to interrupt a converstion too much, so he decided to wait a  little longer for everyone else to finish. He saw Kotori accept the "Date" with Owikawa, and he smiled and slowly clapped his hands in happiness. He knew they were the perfect couple, he could see it. And he was glad it was working out for those two.

I was relieved when even X wasn't dumb enough to duel me right now, he would surely lose. Even in my state of loss I could still fend off a few players. In the mood I was in currently I could probably kill them without giving a second glance. But of course there were always select few that I could not defeat no matter how hard I tried. I chuckled silently at the thought of me taking on Vile. He wouldn't be an easy opponent but the outcome would be certain; I'd die. This guy was too strong for Keith even. Vile knew this though and always enjoyed screwing with Keith, sending people to kill him. When I came into the picture and was seen with Keith all the time my life was threatened as well. It was quite annoying to say the least but it got us closer to our enemy. A few days before Keith's disappearance I was just steps away from confronting Vile. I needed to talk to him and if it came down to it, kill him. Only, Keith physically stopped me from getting within ten feet of his hideout. At the time I thought he was just scared and being a coward, but now I knew that he was only protecting me from going in headstrong. Part of me wants to continue to respect his wishes and not ever go back there but, the other side of my wanted to march down there and demand to know where Keith was, if Vile had killed him, and of course to kill him. This wasn't the time to space out and contemplate that though, I was still around X, Oikawa, and Kotori. Hikoru seemed to have lefts me eyes while I was thinking. 

 

I didn't even bother asking what happened just now, I was paying any attention. Instead I made my own conclusion based off of the players in front of me. Kotori looking at Oikawa the way Keith used to look at me, X joking around, and Oikawa with a certain look in his eyes. Just as I looked at Oikawa, he spoke. "I won't lose anything more Oikawa. Thank you, and I'll tell him that you said hi as well." I stated. "Oh...and Oikawa?" I started, finding my words. "IF I don't find him, which won't happen because he's out there, I'll be happy to mentor you..." After finishing my sentence I spun in the opposite direction and walked off, exiting the scene. 

 

"That was an unnecessarily long waste of my time..."

 

 

-Kiru leaves the RP.-

"Oh really kotori? So that was my knife was it? So your telling me that I am the high level player wielding the knife and Kiru is the inferior player? Sounds like a diss to me Kiru, man I'd be pissed if I was you." I joked as I stood up on the branch I was sitting on.

My bag was now empty so I let it flow away in the wind as I watched it shatter into blue polygons. Maruchan barked happily as it seems he had his fill. Then I heard Kiru go on to talk about finding Keith which I thought I had made perfectly clear that's my job now.

"Hey Kiru your obviously not gonna find Keith. That's my job now, (Maruchan barks) and Maruchan's job." I said fully serious.

I then jumped down to the ground and walked towards hikoru.

"As for you... Keep to your self wierdo." I told the player who exhibited signs of schizophrenia.

I then whistled to Maruchan and we took off through the trees.

Much to his to surprise, Kotori actually decided to go with him. The blonde smiled warmly as she stood next to him. Awkward claps were made as Hikoru grinned and clasped his hands together repeatedly. For what reason he was clapping, was beyond Oikawa. He then glanced at Kiru, he knew he was walking a tightrope with her regarding his last few comments but wanted to hear what she had to say nonetheless.

 

At first she stood there. Motionless and withdrawn, but then she seemed to snap back to reality as she acknowledged his words with a retort of her own. For the moment, it seemed all was well as Kiru offered her mentorship in the event she didn't locate Keith. Which she assured him wouldn't happen. Kiru then turned and left, probably in search of Keith. Which left them, Hikoru and X. Whose next few words went in one ear and out the other for the blonde.

 

He looked to stir up trouble as usual, but hopefully everyone would ignore his commentary as the blonde did. It was surprising to see said player leave which now left the three alone. Reaching for Kotori's hand, he motioned for the path back to town. "Shall we?" Before leaving however, he tipped an imaginary hat to Hikoru and spoke. "Pleasure meeting you and ignore X's words. You aren't weird mate.. He's like this everywhere he goes."

"I even fooled myself... Heh. So much for that. I'm just tired now." Kotori thought as she found herself following a certain boy. This morning she thought she would be able to escape the rest of society. For the lack of a better reason, she decided to lash out at X for annoying her, but by using the excuse of him bothering Oikawa. He just was a complete idiot and had the girl and the blonde hadn't found themselves in this same location, either her or X was going to wind up dead. It was preferably him simply because a lot of people wouldn't care if he passed on. It also seemed that her "reaction" was working a bit too well because Oikawa decided to reach for her hand, something that was a bit too far for her likes. Awkwardly she put her hand to the side, trying to seem as if she wasn't ready for it when in actuality, it didn't feel right for anybody to touch her. She only was able to allow it to keep her act up although she made a habit of wiping the area touched with an object in the game.

 

What bothered Kotori was how unobservant everyone was as to each other. From the very beginning, she knew X was trying to start something, but she continued on only since he had decided to "escort" her to the safe zone which she wasn't going to be heading anytime soon. The only place he was going to escort anyone was himself and that was to hell. It was necessary to get her rage out but in way that it didn't seem out of character for her. Hikoru was nervous for honestly nothing, was prone to anxiety attacks and seemed to be happy in the weirdest moments which could tell her that he suffered from some type of depression and bipolar disorder. Oikawa... well she couldn't conceive of a world where people would be calmed down by hugs. His overall calmness creeped her out immensely, almost to the point where it seemed the events conspiring weren't affecting save for him trying to protect her for no reason in particular. She could handle on her own just fine, she wasn't just some brainless idiot who needed someone to help her. He needed to wake up and smell the flowers because nobody else was going to that for him.. She felt so suspicious and annoyed. that she couldn't wait to find an inn and get away from everyone in the current vicinity. There was no excuse for anybody's action. Kiru seemed to be the only genuine person or sane person around, how uncaring she was to everyone and wary of the others action was something that Kotori would love to be able to do, but she was just tied down by other things. It was time to end this weary day and end this fake side of her. It needed to end.
