The plague victim shuffled forward, and sunk its teeth into Mari's arm. "Gross, gross, gross!" Mari cried out, as she drove the dagger into the Plague Victims head, prying it off her arm. There was a small slobbery bite mark. It stung a little - but Mari was more grossed out than she was worried about damage. She was glad that things like infection and disease did not occur in Aincrad, otherwise she would have just said 'F**k it' to the raid and left. Mari made a sour face as she stated at her arm, dripping in saliva. "F**king sick..." She muttered under her breath.

Mari tried to shake the saliva off her arm - as she was doing this the plague victim tried to attack her again. "Oh no you  f**king don't you d**k!" She cried out, ducking under the gaping, dripping jaw of the victim. She thrust her dagger into its torso - a critical hit. The Plague Victim made a confused noise as it stumbled back. It exchanged a blank expression with the other victim; before exploding in an array of polygons.

"One down, one to go." Mari muttered, setting her sights on the next one.

Mari charged at the Plague Victim, but it shuffled to the side, and she missed entirely. Mari had to steady herself to make sure she waasn't going to completely topple over. "W-wha the.." It was the first time, in a long time that she had actually managed to miss anything. "Well then..." She muttered as she cracked her neck right, then left. "Guess I just have to try harder eh?"  The mob didn't respond. It just sauntered over to her in a painfully slow fashion - mumbling incoherently about pain.

"Don't worry, your pain will be over soon." Mari muttered as she readied herself for another attack.

Mari charged forward ducking as the plague victim tried to grab her arm again; aiming for the same spot the previous mob had attacked. Mari shivered again. Thinking about feeling the slimy drool drip onto her arm - the dull teeth gnawing at her flesh. It was cold, and it was sickening. "Eargh..." She muttered. She did not want to have to deal with these things again. The entrance to the cavern..and to the path to the tower - it was so close... Mari slashed at the beast with her dagger, just a few more hits and it'd be gone

Just a few more hits, and it would be down and out for the count. Unless she managed to crit it next time, but she wasn't going to rely on that. Mari had a teleporation crystal, she also had her sharp edge crystal if she needed, and using it, would probably help her greatly. But she felt it was a waste. She wasn't struggling with these mobs - and she wasn't going to stray too far from the path - so she doubted she would encounter any larger, more dangerous monsters.

Another strike, this time across the mobs torso. "Tick, tock." Mari said to herself.

"Get the f**k off me you f**king piece of f**king diseased sh*t!" Mari screamed. It didn't hurt, by any means but the feeling was unbearable. She tried to pry it off bit the Plague Victim held fast to her arm. "Get. The. F**k OFF!" She screeched, attempting to kick it in the genitalia. Still nothing. Of course, the mob wouldn't react. Even if it were a male. 

Finally she managed to shake it off. Mari felt sick, like she was going to throw up. It was not a pleasant experience.

Mari activated her charge skill. Which was now capped out, she attacked it - swiping the head. Cleaving it clean off. "Ha!" Mari cried out. Running over to it and booting the head high into the air, then turning to stop down hard on the chest of the mob. Quickly stomping on its chest over and over again - before it had the chance to disappear. "THAT. IS. FOR.GROSSING.ME.THE.F**K.OUT!"  She said, continually kicking it, up until it disappeared. Mari sighed, pulling out Daeron's Phoenix cape. And using it to wipe off the drool, before putting it back away.

Mari sighed; at least his cape as good for something. Mari entered the cave. It looked to be a long dark passageway, which branched off to different sections, and pathways. Mari would have been lost, would being the operative word. If it hadn't been for the green light shining through the roof, illuminating. The path. "Well isn't that useful." She said, with an amused tone. As She started down the path. She must have been walking down the path for no more than a few minutes until she heard some chanting. "What in the.." She slowed her pace, readying her dagger.

The chanting grew closer - and out of the shadows came a figure dressed all in black, wearing what looked to be a ceramic plague doctor mask from a time long ago. "Well...that makes sense..." Mari mumbled, and right behind it, stood a Plague Victim. Mari visibly shook in disgust at the memory. "Gross..." She mumbled. She activated her charge skill once again - and aimed for the Plague Victim, she didn't care what the doktor did - she just wanted the victim down as soon as possible. She attacked it, and managed to wipe out half of it's HP. "Good."

The Plague Doktor stood perfectly still as Mari fought the plague victim, it was a tad worrying, but she wasn't going to dwell on it too much. She didn't have time too - she could hear the sounds of a battle outside the caverns. That meant that there was another scouting group close by. Mari grit her teeth. "Sh*t."  She landed another successful hit on the plague Victim, and managed to dodge its grimy teeth as it tried to snap at her. Mari jumped back. The Plague Victim stumbled foward. The 'Doktor' just stood, watching silently.

Mari leaped forward - hoping to land the final blow against the Plague Victim, however at the last second the Plague Doktor rose a robed arm, and Mari ran into the cape - she quickly jumped back. Shaking her head. Finally the Doktor had made its move, and it ended up being a defensive move - helping protect the victim. Then, another interesting thing occurred, the Plague Doktor spoke, pointing toward the victim. "Dying. Will Protekt." Its speech was broken, and raspy, but it wouldn't deter Mari. "Like Hell you will."

Mari tried again, to attack the Plague Victim, just wanting it to roll over and die - but once again the Plague Doktor stepped in, using itself as a shield. It bore the brunt of Mari's attack, but did not react to the damage, or the bleed affliction it now had. It simply rose a pointed finger toward the Plague Victim, repeating what he had said earlier. "Dying. Will Protekt. Dying. Will Protekt." It seemed that no matter what Mari did she would now have to kill the Plague Doktor before moving back onto the victim.

Mari decided that if she couldn't attack the Plague Victim she would attack the Plague Doktor himself. Directly. No use beating around the push after all. Mari lowered her stance and sprinted toward the Doktor. It stepped to the side, and disappeared into the wall. Mari tripped and fell forward. "What the f**k?" She exclaimed as she scrambled back up, turning back to face the Doktor and the Plague Victim, did it just phase into the damn WALL? Mari watched as the Doktor stepped out from the solid wall.

"Dammit..."

It did phase into the god damned wall.

Mari went to strike again, but the Plague Doktor, once again, disappeared into the wall. "OH MY GOD YOU HAVE GOT TO BE F**KING KIDDING ME? A-F**KING -GAIN? I MISSED AGAIN?" She kicked the wall where the Plague Doktor phased into the wall. It annoyed her how was this god damn mob able to do that? It had a physical body yet it could just disappear into a rock hard wall whenever it damn well pleased? 

At least it didn't seem to be attacking her.

Mari took a few deep breaths, steadying herself. She would not get anywhere, being angry. It was making her loose her concentration. She closed her eyes, taking one last deep breath. As she opened them she noticed the Plague Doktor leave the wall. She would use this, as her moment to strike.  She darted forward, and slashed at it's mask, before it got the chance to disappear back into the wall. "Finally." Mari breathed, but that relief was short lived. The Plague Doktor tried to swipe at her, but Mari was able to avoid it at the last second.

The Plague Doktor was quick to reataliate, jsut as Mari dodged it, its other hand reached out clasping her throat. The Doktor managed to pick up the small girl off the floor, Mari's feet dangled in the air as she choked out a gasp of air. She clawed at his hand as his grip tightened. The Doktor's mask opened up into a twisted scowl as it repeated the words to her, as though it's speech hinged on that single sentence. "Dying. Will Protekt. Dying. Will Protekt!" It finally let her go and Mari breathed a sigh of relief.

Mari lunged straight back at the Doktor, it tried to phase into the wall but her strike hit. Nearly critical. She just missed the mark, but she still managed to inflict the bleed ailment onto it. Mari's eyes widened as the Doktor swiped back, but it dealt minimal health to Mari - she was careful to dodge its second attack where it attempted to grab her throat again and if that meant she had to suffer a tiny scratch across her cheek, then so be it. Mari wiped the thin trial of blood off of her cheek. Not long now...

The Plague Doktor had phased into the wall; to stop Mari from attacking it again. Mari glanced toward the Plague Victim, she gave a small smirk. Great, now was her chance. Mari quickly charged toward the Plague Victim. Rising her dagger high over its head, she landed a successful hit. The Plague Victim gave a startled cry, before bursting into data fragments. Mari heard a screech from behind her. She knew it was the Plague Doktor, and had attempted to block its strike - but she miscalculated, and wasn't quick enough. It struck her hard, throwing her against the wall.

"Ughh.."

The Plague Doktor went to hit her again - in quick succession whilst she was down, but it made an odd gurgling noise before exploding before her. The bleeding effect kicking in. Taking off the last of its HP. Mari sighed; as she stood, dusting herself off. She checked her health, and she was still strong. Perfectly fine to keep on going, she had no need to heal herself or waste her crystals. Mari continued forward.

Down the corridoor; then through another, turning a left then right. Finally Mari could see the opening where the tower started. "Yes!" Mari quickened her pace. She stopped as Two large bugs, that looked like giant cockroaches with scooped claws, for digging dropped down from the ceiling. Dammit...so close yet so far... She didn't waste time, She activated her charge skill, and struck the first one.

The second one managed to dig its claw into Mari's ankle; as she was distracted. Mari cussed under her breath and kicked it off.

As Mari kicked it off she turned around, shoving her dagger into the middle of its back, a strange - horrible and foul smelling sludge gurgled out. "Erugh..." Mari reeled back at the stench, as it continued to bubble out. The Cave Crawler suffering from the bleed ailment. The two large bugs were surprisingly good at teamwork. The Cave Crawler had latched onto her upper thigh. its pincers digging into Mari's flesh. Mari cried out in shock, bringing her leg up to kick it off. "Persistent little sh*ts!" She muttered
