[F1-PP] A New Life

Recommended Posts

Shaya didn't move, she didn't make a sound. After a minute she extended her arm holding onto his hands but not hard enough in order to be pulled up, just for comfort. She looked up into the sky now filled with stars and sniffled before speaking. Have you ever questioned the meaning of life Zelrius? My thoughts are happiness. Why live if you can't be happy... You want to be rid of any sadness..  And the ones closest to you cause the most to happen, whether its happy or sad... Tell me.. how can someone stay happy when the ones she's closest to hurt her the most..? She tugged on his hand lightly as if to ask him to sit with her.

He stood there in silence for a moment, only staring at his feet. Her words hit him and sunk deep. Finally gazing back to her, Zelrius crouched, one knee being flat in the grass and other raised up, his hand still holding hers. With his free hand, The boy took the Golden sheath that held the twinfire off his hip, and while doing so answered her questions. "I have thought about the meaning of life, and I realized, not too long ago, that most people spend too much time asking what the meaning is, by the time they figure it out, Their time is up," He paused, shifting over and sitting next to her, now looking at the sky as well, Zelrius placed the sheath on his other side in the grass. "My guess to your second question is that said girl needs to find different people that make her happy, not sad."

She paused for a few seconds, He knows a lot, he just shadows it in arrogance it seems. She looked up to him at her side. She liked his answers. Seeing that she was in SAO, she replied, Those people cant hurt her anymore.. not while she's here. Shaya put her arm back through Zelrius's. How about that drink huh? She flipped her emotions around completely and let off a smile, pullung on his arm to get him up.

He stood, quickly grabbing the sheath he had left in the ground, and with great effort, getting it belted and buckled back around his waist. "A Drink would be nice. Though as I've said before, None for me." He said, trying to remember what experience it was that made him dislike it so much that he wouldn't even do so with a lady. Shrugging that thought off, He pressed on for more conversation, hopefully getting a better result. "So what's your favorite type of Drink? If you're lucky, I might just buy some for you to take home." The words spoken, but not in his arrogant air like usual. Zelrius was never one to do a 180 in emotions like that, and he was still confused by the most of it.

Shaya was bummed a little that he insisted on not drinking at all, but she wouldn't let it bother her. She replied quickly to him asking her favorite drink, Anything strong.. I told you I'm a shot champion back home. She laughed to herself remembering the days she would wake up somewhere weird with her friends. You should've seen me, I went crazy on this one guy named Josh. He thought he had me at 7... or was it 12? I don't know, I couldn't even stand up that night. She laughed more reminicing of her old memories.

Anything strong, huh? Damn, she's a 'skilled' drinker. I can't even compete He thought to himself, thinking of maybe having a drink or two, then deciding against it for the most part. Zelrius himself had been to plenty of parties in and out of Highschool, and while they were fun without the booze, The blonde boy often wondered how much more fun they could be with it. He had only drank any on occasion and didn't do it to the point of any real changes in physical or mental function for the night. He laughed to himself listening to her story. He imagined two people at a small round table, Filled to the brim with shots and around them people shouting and just all around having a good time. It was things like that Zelrius missed from the Old World, before SAO.

Shaya continued on with her story, You know, you really party hard when you wake up on top of the refridgerator. She laughed hard recalling having toexplain herself to her parents, it was the funniest conversation she ever had.She couldn't control her laughter until she lost her ballance tripping. She got up still giggly and brushed herself off. So what about you? have you been to any good parties back at your place?

Huffing a bit of air, Zelrius responded, slowly converting back to his overly arrogant self "More or less. It was nothing fantastic for me. I was invited to said parties, went to them, Hung out to a social level and never got 'Hammered' as the other teens call it. So pretty average, I wasn't anything special at them. Not waking up on refrigerator special, that is." He said the last words then glanced to her. As the pair approached the City, a thought occurred to Zelrius. Without really meaning to, he voiced the thoughts aloud. "If one of the other Commandants caught me linked arms with a pretty girl, I'd never hear the end of it from them. Or anyone, Guessing they'd probably tell everyone within a Five floor radius."

Shaya was surprised when she heard about his parties that he went to. He never got hammered, slammed, wasted, or any other terms I can't think of tight now. Seems kinda boring. She began thinking what a party would be like without drinking but couldn't quite figure it out. Zelrius continued speaking, and a few choice words caught her attention. Oh? So you think I'm pretty Zelrius? She felt like teasing him since they were just now entering the city, but decided against it.. at least for now.

He grinned back to her as they began to walk on the cobblestone path of the city. His dress shoes began to do the neat clicking and clacking with each step, which for some reason he couldn't define, liked the sound of the heels of his shoes tapping the solid ground. Zelrius pulled his elbow, tugging her just a bit closer, but not overly so. "Maybe I do, maybe I don't. Depends, Lady Shaya. What if I do?" The arrogant boy glanced to her, His brows raised to her, feeling clearly more teasing than she was.

Shaya looked at the boy with his eyebrows raised and wondered if she should toy with him or not. I don't know just yet, I usually make dumb decisions after my drinks. She winked at him, seeing as she could've given him the wrong idea with that choice of wording she looked forward again. They were just outside of the heart of town where "The Broken Helm" was located. Shaya let go of Zelrius's arm and fixed her hair, instead of having it in a ponytail she wore it down.

(By the way, I'd like to point out I guessed you were with Jevi given your other RP with them is pretty big. But IC, Zelrius wouldn't know that and still would hit on her regardless.)

"Well I feel more or less that I would be an intelligent decision." Pausing, Honestly thinking that given his plethora of achievements and bountiful wealth.  "Though I'd be fine with being a dumb choice if you think I am." He returned the wink then laughed. After his laugh the narcissist continued. "Naturally, I am joking. As a Gentleman, I'd rather you were sober if you so choose me." The boy spoke, then glanced in the area around them. "So where is this place, anyway?"

(I figured as much with Zelrius, Shaya just likes to lead people on. Being with Jevi, she wouldn't allow herself to do it)

Shaya took a few steps opening the door to the pub, Right in here. She smiled holding the door open for him. The place as usual was filled with people, most coming back from fighting in the fields. People were laughing and talking all throughout the place, nearly all of them with a drink in their hand. NPC's behind the bar raced around grabbing bottles mugs and glasses for them all. It might be a bit crowded but it's a nice place.

Zelrius realized they were probably standing in front of the place, and when he went to grab the door for her, She had done the versa. It would seem Shaya held it for him, and taking the gesture, he slipped in and then held it for her to walk in. Instantly, Zelrius was annoyed infinitely by the immense amount of people, and even more so, their low levels. He cleared his throat and straightened his bowtie, now clearly trying to look far superior to the people in the room. His tuxedo was neat and tidy, the gloved hands being pulled back to look as nice as possible, and now spawned in his right hand as it had earlier that day, The tinted red hydra skull in which he placed upon his golden hair, but did not lower to his face. "Coming to an uncivilized place like this, You better make it worth my time." He spoke, back to that Holier-than-thou Aristocrat-like tone. Ego back in full swing.

It occurred to him whilst cleaning himself up that Shaya had no actual interest in him, only took a guess to his wealth, and played along so that he would buy her a drink. He narrowed his eyes to her then to the bar. "Lead the way, Lady Shaya." The last words as sarcastic as ever.

Shaya took the lead heading towards the counter, she noticed the change in his tone in his last sentence and wondered what made him think differently. It wasn't long before she gave up on trying to figure him out. She sat at the bar counter awaiting Zelrius to place an order, for she couldn't. You look mad, do you want to go somewhere else?

Now he grimaced slightly, feeling like he was being rude by not liking the place that was picked out. "No, It's not big deal. I appreciate your asking though. Drinks, Shall we?" Without even thinking, Zelrius accidentally ordered two ales instead of just one for her. His thoughts of the place and the constant thinking whispering in his head in a million different voices as his mind began to call together many things had drowned out his words from earlier, and he had forgotten all about the fact that it was alcohol he was now sipping at.

Shaya picked up her glass from the counter, taking a long sip. She looked over at Zelrius who also had a glass of the same drink in his hand. I thought he wasn't drinking, let alone something strong like I asked for. She tried not to make it obvious she was surprised and took another sip. So.. What's it like up there on the front lines? I usually stay down here, so I don't know very much about the higher floors. She leaned against the counter keeping her interest peaked on the new topic.

Another sip. The boy set down his cup and didn't even look in her direction when he spoke back. "Well, The frontlines is a lot of planning and fighting. Though that is where to most excitement happens in this world, it is also one of the most dangerous. Of course if you're really interested, I could throw in the small details, but I will attempt not to bore you too terribly. As for the Higher floors, They're all different in their own way, yet, the same as they all provide cities and shelter, along with the monsters of each floor commonly used for grinding. If you want, I could take you to the Eleventh Floor one day, I think you'd like the Cathedral. I personally am not a religious person, but damn is it impressive."

Shaya tilted her head slightly at Zelrius, A cathedral huh? I'm not religious either, but I do like how big and pretty the buildings usually are. She nodded once knowing he probably didn't see her. Okay, I might have to take you up on that offer. But you have to promise that I wont die up there.. I don't know what would happen to Jevi if I didn't come back.. After speaking she quickly finished off her glass and sighed.

Another sip from his drink. Zelrius had to do a double take on her words, and then glanced over to her. For a split second he was a bit disappointed, and for that single moment it showed, before he realized that it had and snapped back to Narcissism. " Then so be it, I will take you up there, maybe after this next boss fight is done. This 'Jevi' need worry not. The Cathedral is within the safe zone. No PKers, Extremely strong monsters or anything. Unless of course, You want to go see those things, in which case, I'd be more than willing to escort you through."
