  1. The thought at only two more materials needed to be collected brought forth a feeling of bitter-sweetness. Once they were collected it would be the adventure was over, and Asmura wasn't sure she was ready for that. It had been nice to be able to hang out with another player and actually get to know someone. It then dawned on the girl that a tense, sudden silence echoed through the clearing. The sound of leaves crunching under soles of feet and the wind rustling was could be hear clear as day. The follow-up silence caused the young girl to turn around. Kyanite orbs landed on the red-haired women. The look on Vie's face was recognizable. As Asmura was about to open her mouth and provide a way out of answering the question Vie started to answer her question. It was an answer that should not have shocked Asmura, but it had. Almost seeing other players die was not something Asmura had experienced yet--and there was no desire to. Although, it couldn't be helped. It was the nature of SAO and those that chose to risk their lives to beat the game. Unaware of her own actions the young girl approached the older women. By the time Vie glanced back up Asmura would have been right in front of her; gazing up at her with a saddened and worried gaze. The change in subject was enough of hint to end the conversation there. Still, a desire to bring some sort of comfort was burning bright. Slowly the raven-haired girl reached out and gently grasped the girls hand. I'm glad they were there too. Then curious orbs landed on another...surprise, another mushroom. This one orange and fuzzy. "Look at that one!" Asmura shouted, glee evident in her voice, "It's orange." Carefully the young girl brought Vie with to her to the mushroom before going to pick it up. Grasping it she started to pull, and pull, and pull. Nothing. Releasing Vie's hand she then grasped both hands around the base of the mushroom and started to pull again. Suddenly, her small form toppled backwards and she found herself staring up the blue sky. Without meaning to warm laugh made it's way past her lips. "Whoops!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Material collected: 3/5

In a flash of florescent blue light Megitsune was gone. Despite what was said Asmura wondered if the older girl would really leave her. Then again, based on the short interactions that had been had it dawned on her that she would. If the young girl had learned anything it was the Megitsune was brutally honest. A rush of unbridled fear surged up at the thought of being left behind. As soon as the teleport gate quieted down Asmura quickly stepped in, "Floor 2, Urbus." There was a moment where the brilliant blue flooded her vision. Soon other colors started to intermix and wiz past. A vivid memory of SAO loading for the very first time entered her mind’s eye. The initial amount of anxiety--and excitement--was what made the memory so vivid. Well that the image of her mom and dad standing there waving as she went under. As the memory started to fade so did the vision of colors. It took a moment for her eye so readjust to the sudden light that was shining down. Stepping out of the teleport gate a quick glance was taken at the surrounding area. This was about the second time Asmura had been to the second floor. Still, it dazzled her mind and brought forth memories of her mom teaching her about the Middle Ages. Shaking her head slightly, her gaze then started to wander searching for the familiar fox masked girl. Although there were not that may people it still took a moment to locate Megitsune. The older girl was not too far away. Starting to job she went to catch up. As she started walking side-by-side her gaze maneuvered around. "The NPC w-w-with the quest 'Long Live the Queen' should be around here somewhere." Asmura wondered out loud, "Have you done this quest before?"

Something about Kiluia'a approach this time was different. Although she knew that he was about to end the fight in one blow Asmura could not help but hold the curved sword just in case. Although chances were slim that anything would happen the percentage was never zero. Eye fixated on the fight she observed at the male grabbed the creatures by one of its vines, the same one that attack her, and pulled causing the Nepent to launch toward him. Before Asmura knew it the ground below her gave a quiet shutter and then Nepent was gone. Finally, the fight was over. Allowing herself to relax the curved sword was placed back at her hip and she smiled as Kiluia made his way back to her. Gently taking the item she placed it back in her inventory and gazed up at Kiluia. At a loss for words all the young girl could do was nod vigorously. Together the duo made their way back through the forest. It was a quiet comfortable silence with intermittent talking. Now that Asmura had been on an adventure with him her level of comfort rose exponentially. Kiluia was someone that she could trust. As they entered the city the NPC was waiting by the gate. Upon their return the NPC rushed over to them and quickly greeted them, "Welcome back Adventures! Have you completed the quest?" Nodding, Asmura opened her inventory and selected the <<Little Nepent's Ovule>>. Carefully the young girl handed it to the NPC. "Thank you so much Adventures. Our village is in your debt." The for the second time the 'Quest Completed' window popped up. However, that was the last thing she was worried about. Turning swiftly toward Kiluia the young girl gave him another grin, "Let's go home, Kiluia!"

After saying something the young girl didn't know what else to say. Instead, she listened and enjoyed the company of the others as they interacted. Even while the butterflies in her stomach flitted around chaotically there was no regret in coming on this quest. She was happy. Occasionally, curious eyes could glance at the armored penguin before darting back in front of her. It wasn't long before they arrived at the quest destination. The down into the dark, cavernous hole the party went. Narrowing her eyes in concentration she wordlessly followed the party down. Together they made comments about what a small child would be doing down here. The young girl couldn't help but agree. There would be no reason to come down here unless forced. As the conversation turned to food and cooking Asmura's mouth began to water. Food was the best thing in the world, and she had forgotten the last time she had eaten. It would have had to been sooner rather than later. As thoughts about cookies and cakes drifted in her thoughts she smiled slightly. Something interrupted that daydream though. A noise echoed through the cave. Soft and unclear. Automatically, her hand went to the hilt of the curved sword. "I-I-I think I heard something up a-a-ahead." Asmura quietly murmured to the group. @Vie @Elora @Kiluia Seiko

The phrase had caught Asmura off guard as it bounced around her head like a bouncy ball. This had not been what was expected at all. Then again, she had not been sure what to expect. What she had heard from others in the guild felt different than what was being experienced. While the older girl seemed a little off-putting at first the young girl started to sense that there was some warmth there. Smiling slightly to herself she caught up so that she was walking in stride with her adventure partner. As her gaze wandered around to take in the setting around them Megitsune started to speak again. Attentively, Asmura listened to what was said. If Asmura had heard right it sounded like Megitsune was encouraging her and telling her to have confidence in herself. At some point in her life she was sure that confidence radiated from her being like a brilliant light. It had been loud and bold. Now everything was different though. The confidence that she was quiet and internal. It could be gathered and piece together like the shards of a broken mirror only to be broken once again. There was no surprise that Megitsune had noticed that about her right away. Smiling softly, Asmura locked her hand behind her back as they walked. "M-m-my parents bought it for me." Asmura softly stated, careful to keep her eyes forward, "And I think I understand what you’re saying. In this game, age is number. It does not determine your ability or strength. Despite what everyone else says." Players that she had met, and some that she had never met, would make comments about a kid playing SAO. "You have a lot of wisdom for someone who can't be much older than me."

"Thanks!" Asmura stated, looking up at the male. Seeing his smile it could not be helped. A wide, childlike grin erupted onto the raven-haired girls features. In the back of her mind she knew that now was not a time to be distracted, but it could not be helped. Kiluia had acknowledged that she was doing well and that made her feel...proud? Happy? As she started to ponder what exactly those feelings were attributed to another thunderous "hiss" resounded through the clearing. It was enough to bring her right back into fight mode. As this point in time she had been the only one to hit the Nepent, but seeing Kiluia get caught made her want to end this fight. She didn't want anything to happen to him--despite him being a higher level. With that thought in mind she charge forward, blade glowing a dangerous blue as she approached the Nepent. Using the momentum Asmura leaped intending the bring the blade down on top of the Nepent. Unfortunately, the monster seemed to read her movement and a thick vine lashed out while she was in mid-air. Sword and vine clashed. The backlash was caused the small girl to be shot backwards to the right of Kiluia. Rolling a couple feet she laid there for a minute--the world spinning around her--but otherwise unhurt. "I'm good!" Asmura yelled, unsteadily getting to her feet again and preparing another to defend or attack. ~~~~~~~~~ Kiluia |820/820 HP | 60/82 EN | DMG: 15| MIT:41 |EVA:1|ACC:2| BLD:24 |REC:1 Recovery Activates Asmura| 19/20 HP | 0/2 EN| DMG:2| MIT:9| EVA: 2| Hate: 1| Variant Nepent | 14/15HP | MIT:5 | DMG: 10 |
  7. As the questions were answered one by one Asmura felt like she was getting to know the red-headed women little by little. At this point she would even venture so say that they were no longer strangers, but friends. At least, that was how she felt. Listening as she scoured the clearing for more collectible material her wandering gaze landed on another mushroom. "Autumn is also my favorite season. Jumping a pile of leaves was the best feeling." Asmura commented while making her way over to the mushroom that had caught her eye, "Halloween was the best part." Memories of Halloween's spent going from house to house searching for sugary goodness were vivid. Prior to her...accident she had loved Halloween. "When I did go trick or treating, I would dress up as Anne Bonney, or Anne Dieu-Le-Veut." The ladies named were just some of the famous female pirates of the seven seas. Hearing Vie state that only a few more materials needed to be collected reminded her of the strange velvety ocean blue mushroom that had been found. Finally arriving at the spot where the velvet mushroom resided, she bent down and simply plucked in from the ground. "If I remember correctly," Asmura started, turning the mushroom in her hand, "Only two more. Right?" For the first time since being stuck in this game Asmura was so close to completing her first quest. It was hard to believe. One day struggling to enter the enter the shop, and then a few days later going off with a stranger to complete a quest. In only a few days she had grown far past what she thought she could. "What’s the highest floor you’ve been to? What was it like?” Asmura question, turning to face Vie again and showing her the velvet mushroom. Out of all of them this one was her favorite so far. It was soft to the touch and a beautiful shade of blue. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Material collected: 3/5

As the young girl was running her fingers thought the stunning, white fur she waited for Megitsune to say something. Well, say anything really. Forgetting to pay attention to the creature in front of her she was caught by surprise when dazzling blue flames erupted from the kitsune's nostrils. The heat radiated against tan skin causing Asmura to jerk her hand back roughtly. Apparently, the other girl was paying more attention than she was because the creatures name—now known as Amai—echoed through the room in a harsh tone. Luckily, the fox had not been able to do any real damage. Frowning, but also slightly relieved, Asmura finely turned to face the older girl. What stared back was an ivory fox mask with a red smile and blank eyes. It was slightly unnerving to be unable to see Megitsune's expression. Without a word the raven-haired girl started to leave the room. Curious, the young girl waited to see if the other player would return. Taking quick glances around the shop she was drawn back to the entrance by a pair of light footsteps. Megitsune had appeared. Not only had she appeared, but she was wielding a menacing looking scythe over her shoulder. Asmura took this as a yes and smiled to herself. The smile quickly faded after Megitsune's mouth opened. More unsure than anything Asmura narrowed her eyes in thought. What Megitsune was basically asking her to do was be true to herself and be courageous, right? As the young raven-haired girl thought about it more that was the conclusion that made the most sense. Megitsune's sharp tone cut through her thought process like a knife. Perking up the mention of having to find her own way Asmura rushed after the other female. Despite everything excitement was starting to bubble up. It was time for another adventure with a potential new friend. Getting the feeling that Megitusune was not the one for small talk Asmura decided to keep conversation quest related--at least for the moment. "So, I was thinking Long Live the Queen on the second floor." Asmura stated in a matter-of-fact tone, "What do you think?"

Blink. Kiluia was there. Another blink and all that was left was a dust cloud in the spot where he was. Narrowing her kyanite orbs Asmura glanced around the clearing searching for the white-haired male. She was confident that he was still close by and getting ready to attack. However, the question was from where he was going to attack. Then there was a slight movement as the dust in front of her picked up. The last Nepent in the clearing was flung backward and burst into the rainbow of pixels. There, in the mist of the settling dust, was Kiluia. A cheer bubbled from her throat as the last of the pixels drifted off. "We did it!" Asmura cheery, happiness radiating off of her small being, "We really did it!" Apparently, cheering loudly after completing a fight was not something that should be done. Her voice carried through the woods and as it did the monster that was spawning on the edge of the clearing picked it up. Vines extending, it wrapped around two trees and started to propel itself forward as roots sprouted and it started to run. As Asmura was going in for a high five with Kiluia vines appeared from the edge of the forest; forcing her to back up and take a defense position. Finding its victims, the <<Variant Nepent>> let out a loud, angry hiss. Unlike the previous planets this one had a red, bulb on its head with a large flower bloomed on the top of it. Without thinking Asmura moved. Charging forward her the curved sword was brought around in an upwards slash. As her sword was coming up the vine of the Nepent came crashed toward her. Bracing herself the sword cut into the vine but missed her completely. Taking advantage of the deflection Asmura took a moment to place some distance between herself and the monster. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kiluia |820/820 HP | 60/82 EN | DMG: 15| MIT:41 |EVA:1|ACC:2| BLD:24 |REC:1 Recovery Activates Asmura| 19/20 HP | 1/2 EN| DMG:2| MIT:9| EVA: 2| Variant Nepent | 14/15HP | MIT:5 | DMG: 10 |
  10. An inquisitive gaze remained on the mushroom that lay innocently in her hand. Now that it was pluck out of the ground it dawned on the young girl that it was bigger than the palm of her hand--which she guessed was not very big. Gathering up the mushroom under her arm she stood back up and faced the red-headed women. Right as she did the waterfall of question begin. Wanting to continue to focus on the quest, as well as foster the connection that she was beginning to foster with Vie, the raven haired kid paused for a moment to think. "I really like orange, but I don't think that is my favorite..." Asmura pondered out loud. Then it dawned on her. "Green! Green is my favorite." As she said that a mushroom with different hues of green caught her attention. Making sure the other mushroom was safe Asmura bent down to retrieved the strangely colored fungi. "And as for favorite animal that's easy. Have you every seen a red panda? And they get to sleep all day, which is kinda nice." As she was talked Asmura reached for the second mushroom, only to grasp onto it and have her hand snap back. Now that she was up close she could see that it was covered in some sort of slime. Gross. Returning to a stand position the young girl was slow to answer the last question. The real world was a topic that she had not cared to discuss or think about. That's where her parents were. That's where her home was. Swallowing the emotion that was surfacing she started the search for the next mushroom. "The real world, hum?" Asmura questioned softly, "It's been so long. I really enjoyed learning about pirates and drawing." Unfortunately, since entering SAO she had not been able to read about pirates or draw; but that was not something to get stuck on. "What about you? What did you like to do in the real world? And do you have a favorite season?" Think of a question was enough to allow herself to ride out the emotion she had been feeling. With it gone she was able to turn and curiously look at Vie. ~~~~~~~~~~ >>Material collected: 2/5

Without warning a 'bang' resounded throughout the shire. It was so unexpected that it caused the young girl to jump slightly as cautious orbs darted out the room. Out of her corner of her eye something started toward her. Out of habit more than anything Asmura took a couple steps back, sifted, and then placed a loose grip on the curved sword. As her gaze narrowed on the thing approaching her, she stopped and released the sword as if it were a hot potato. In front of her was a white furred fox with ruby red eyes. For a split second all that could be done was stare. The white fox was just staring; almost like it wanted something. So, focused on the white fox she had not noticed the other person join her in the room. Startled by the sudden appearance of a voice she turns her attention who she assumed was Megitsune. The greeting that had been voiced was to be expected if what she heard from the other guild members was true. "I-I-I'm not," Asmura stated, her voice rattling slightly, "b-but thanks for the recommendation." Her gaze was drawn back to the fox in front of her. She a was beautiful, elegant creature and the thought of sneezing made the raven-haired girl smile slight. Not one to deny an animal attention she simply stepped to the side of the animal and proceeded to gentle stroke her fur. Not having her gaze on Megitsune assisted with calming her nerves. She decided to focus on the way the fur felt between her fingers and mounting her courage again. It was better to address her with some sort of confidence. "I-I'm actually here for you. I was hoping you would take a quest with me?" Her confidence grew with every word. It was difficult to keep it going, but the worst that could happen was that Megitsune would say "no" and that would be that. It would not harm her in any way. She would not die. Plus, if Megitsune had such a sweet familiar Asmura chose to believe that she could not be that bad. However, she had been wrong before. Only one way to find out.

Now that they were familiar with each other the small party was off. It appeared that white-haired male had taken the lead, and Asmura was fine with that. She had no desire to lead anything or anyone; especially a group of people mostly comprised of people that she had just met. Wordlessly she followed the male toward the edge of the city. According to him this quest was one of the easier one. He wasn't the only one that had knowledge of the quest though. Elora, the green-haired women, also appeared to have some knowledge as well. As they walked, she felt something watching her. Confused, she started to discreetly glance around and then her orbs locked eyes with Kiluia's familiar, Pingu. The penguin was watching her and then switching up to Kiluia before shifting her gaze back to her. Not really sure what to do the young girl just waved and smiled. Then Kiluia addressed the group again, “I hope the guild has been treating everyone well here. I look forward to working with you a lot.” The young raven-haired girl went to speak. However, the words that she wanted to say got stuck in her throat, only she released it too late. Her mouth opened and nothing came out. Come on. Breath. You know Vie. Pretend you’re talking with her. Steadying her rapidly beating heart she closed her eyes for a moment and pretend that Vie was the only one there. "T-The guild has been r-r-really good." Asmura managed to voice, "I-I-I'm really happy I joined." Briefly she thought maybe she had said too much and then quickly added, "I'mgladthatIamgettingtomeeteveryone." Automatically her cheek started to glow red and her gaze fell to the ground. Nice job. @Elora

Allowing the words of encouragement to surround her--and feeling fired up after watching Kiluia take down another Nepent--Asmura nodded eagerly at his words. After this was over, they would be able to continue their adventure. Warmth and determination flooded her system. Without hesitation her determined gaze following his finger as it landed on the last Nepent in the clearing. This was her shot to do something. If she could get one it on it, she would be ecstatic. Taking another focused breath and she started toward the creature. As her pace quicken the curved sword brought the sword up near her opposite cheek and prepared to attack. As her body passed by the creature, she brought the sword straight across the body of the Nepent. Using the momentum, she spun herself around to face the final monster with the curved sword up in a defensive manner, and luckily, she did. A vine shot out from the plant and straight for her. The young girl braced herself and deflected the vine to the right; the stream of plant cutting again her blade. As the vine retreated, she quickly grinned at Kiluia, "I did it!" Asmura exclaimed, happiness radiating from her but not letting her guard down. She wanted to jump up and down in delight, but with a fight going on that was not the smartest path to take. Later, she would celebrate. 14. As they entered the forest the fear that Asmura had been feeling before peaked. It took a decent amount of self-control not to squeeze the older girl’s hand tightly and guide them both back to the vast, clear field they had just left. There the sun shined brightly and illuminated everything. There the mind could not play tricks. In here, where darkness reined, the mind could weave is web that just lured her further and further into the depths of fear. Then Asmura caught sight of the flower that she attempted to make with Vie. It was warm and seemed to illuminate the impeding darkness. The the fear that was creeping in started retreat as she remembers for probably the umpteenth time that she was not alone. As she started to remember that the red-headed girl made another comment; asking that if Asmura ever needed anything to message her. It's that easy? Just send a message. Eagerly, the young girl gave Vie a determined nod. She didn't trust her voice to be steady quite yet. In a flash Vie was kneeling in front of her. Had she not been paying that much attention? Either way, Vie encouraged her to explore alone and reassured her that if anything popped up, she could take care of it, and then she was back up. There is no way that Asmura would let Vie fight alone. They were in this together, and Asmura wanted to make sure that Vie knew that. "If anything pops up then we'll fight together," Asmura corrected, staring up at the red head with certainty laced in her voice, "We don't have to do anything alone every again." At least I don't have to be alone ever again. What that said the raven-haired girl started off. She keeled at the base of one of the trees and found a red mushroom with white polka dots. Trying not to disturb the soil below Asmura started to pick the mushroom. Without much effort the mushroom popped out of the ground. Shifting she showed Vie the mushroom. "Look!" Asmura exclaimed, giddy at her success, "That makes two. Only three more to go!" ~~~~~~~~~~ >>Material collected: 2/5
