  1. The man took a step back. Cautious. Mari sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. She hadn’t meant to outright scare the poor bastard. But. “Good.” Mari said to him as he told her it was nothing more than a cautionary tale. “I ain’t looking to add any more names to that monument.” A pause, and a tilt of her head as her lips quirk into a sort of half smile. “Not willingly, anyway.” Mari’s hand fell back to her side with a swing as she approached the counter that separated them, leaning her elbows on it. So he was curious enough to come to her tent, cautious enough to linger at its entran
  2. “Hmm?” Mari glanced over at the entrance to her tent, hearing the rustle of canvas as it shifted open. In front of her, was a man she didn’t recognize. He stood tall, almost having to duck to make his way through the entrance. Dark hair, and eyes a beguiling red - although they paled in their lustre compared to her husband. He wasn’t really noteworthy, not even a weapon at his side and looked like he was dressed in some kind of beginner gear. His eyes danced around her store, as though he was surprised to see what was within it. A wanderer who got lost? Then, came the comment. Always
  3. "Wow. You must be pretty skilled to be able to on purposely do that, and make it look like an accident." Mari jested as she caught the tiny gaseous ball Eulogy tossed back to her. With far more ease. "This was for you, actually." Not trusting the kid to catch it properly this time Mari turned and sat it on the table. "Just pick it up on your way out, and don't use it in a safe zone if you can help it. It...." She paused, fingers tapping the glass in thought. Unsure if she should share the information with him, and this time, against her better judgement, she did. "This particular one doesn't r
  4. Just on the outskirts of Yomi, the main settlement on the 10th floor stood a large tent; its permanence on the floor a staple. The near darkness of the floor hides the stains on the outside of the tent, blood and dirt - as though the thing was dragged through a warzone before being hastily set up. Simply for how long it had been there, rumours kept most away. 'The Pink Pker' they would say. Others, simply decided whatever wares were sold there were not worth the hassle of dealing with the prickly person inside. Within it, a faint yellow glow, followed by a myriad of scents that burn the nose.
  5. "Oh...I'm terrible at the mashkeraiding game." Mari said covering her mouth with her hand, hiding a wide smile. "Hell I ripped thi-this thing off within moments. I'm bad at hiding...I kinda..." Mari took a step back from V, holding out her arms as if presenting herself, "I mean..orange on orange on orange?" A step closer to V to place one arm on the womans shoulder, the other found its way in her hand. "But...being who I am...I ain't got accshesh to like...shops and stuff." Her smile faded at that, Mari was fine with being orange. With failing redemption. But with times like this, thinking of
  6. "Catch anything?" say "J-Jomei?" Mari asked, looking up from her fishing rod, she had just finished affixing a gummy fish to the hook. She was surprised to see him. "What are you doing here?" A question spoken from genuine surprise. Mari had expected him to go join Hirru, and whomever else was with him. "Why aren't you in the safe zone with the others?" A question stemmed from someone so used to doing things on her own. Being on her own. Even with the company of her husband. Mari glanced down to her right arm, still pink, still healing from being burned. Slowly, it dawned on her - her own

  12. Mari flashed Oscar a look, as if to say 'No... you don't...' When he said he knew enough. She wasn't going to press it. Her being here was supposed to be the calm after the storm. A sweet reprise after a battle so long and hard fought for. She knew how hard Oscar fought for his own beliefs, his own fight. It's how they had managed to reconnect. Memories of him falling apart by the lake, struggling with shaking hands tangled in his hair - Mari knew the signs of wavering sanity. She had lived them. "Oscar..." His name, spoken softly, equal parts concern and care. He always did this, waved her aw
  13. Mari was leaning against a tree outside the safe zone by Taft. She half expected Reytac to be waiting on her, but it seemed to be the other way around. Surprising...really, considering she had to climb a flight of stairs to get to their destination and all he needed to do was scream out a cities name, and he was instantly whisked away. By Mari's feet sat a crate of potions, one of them already missing, cracked open and drunk by the woman to give herself the slight boost in damage she'd need to be able to wipe out swarms of enemies with a single strike. The woman wasn't sure how long she'd
