She would need to ask him what he preferred; a necklace, or a earring. Mari would think a necklace - as the stone; acting as a warning system would light up; and it'd be a little hard to see that dangling from ones ear. Still....Mari sighed. She was almost done. She'd ask him when she got back him. A lone howl, and another set of wolves would saunter out from the forest - they looked weak...tired...ah, the stragglers of the pack. Mari peered over their bristled white furry bodies to see if any others would follow. The forest was silent. The last ones.... Good. Mari tore through

These wolves were a little different to the ice wolves earlier. Their fur coats were a pure white, and their eyes a bright red - an albino variant. Mari had lived here long enough to know that every so other full moon the two clans could clash. Often fighting right outside her bedroom window. Another reason she was trying to clear out the nearby mobs. The last thing she wanted right now was to be woken up in the middle of the night, she had already gotten such little sleep. Lancaster had been pretty jumpy too. SHe had told him about the stones Raidou had given her- but she had yet to find the

The worst case scenario though... Mari refused to let that happen. She was horrendously stubborn and the last thing she'd do is allow something like that defeat her, not now. As Mari would slowly round the frozen lake she'd pause every so often, to brush off the snow and debris that had almost encased the grave markers that signaled those that she killed. Now...there were another two names to that list. Mari wouldn't be adding graves for those people...in fact... Mari wondered if all of them even deserved it. Argumail certainly didn't. He was an absolute ass. So, as Mari was cleanin

OUT OF COMBAT POST 2 Mari was beginning to feel the cold, the group of ice elemental that had quite literally melted on top of her left her entire upper half soaked. The woman didn't like it. She sneezed, followed by a sniffle of her nose. Mari would take off her scarf, hiding it away in her inventory. Mari wished she was a hoarder, she wished she had a blanket or something hiding away somewhere, but she didn't. Maybe once her and Lancaster were married...she'd share his inventory and Mari just knew the man probably had a little bit of everything. He struck her as a hoader - the type to

OUT OF COMBAT POST 1 With the last wave dealt with Mari fell silent, listening for the sounds of the light tinkling and breaking glass that signaled oncoming waves of elementals but she was met with a welcomed silence. Did that mean she finally wiped out the majority of them? The woman hoped so. That meant her goal to clear out things around her house was closer than she thought. Mari took this small reprieve to head toward the entrance to her hidden workshop. Mari wouldn't go into it just shift past it - ensuring that it was still hidden. And it was. The gap still looked complete

“Why Mi Amore? Why risk your life to conform to ideals others set for you?” Lancaster asked, his voice breaking - hands shaking as they dropped his coffee cup. He stumbled toward her, wrapping her into a tight embrace as Mari told him today was the day she’d take on Redemption. Mari shook her head. Her heart hurt, this was a very real fear for the both of them. They had fought so hard to ensure no one would tear them apart, and yet…here she stood, threatening that very thing with her own actions. “This isn’t for anyone else but myself, I had trained for this, yearned for this

In the past Mari would have insisted on Redemption, come hell or high water, and her sheer stubbornness and disregard for her own life would lead to her refusing to leave till she defeated it, or she died. That was the past, now she had people she felt close to, she had people she loved, she even had people she considered family. Dying wasn't an option. Not for her. Not anymore. Mari would let her weapon light up in a blaze as she let it tear and melt through yet another set of ice elementals. Come to think of it, had she fully spoken to Lancaster about it? Mari mentioned it

Mari had the teleportation crystals, the healing crystals, antidotes, potions, battle healing, hellstorm... There was no way she couldn't be more prepared than she was now. If there were other ways, she would not know. Oscar was one contingency, but there were others. The woman would have reached out to her brother - but he seemed to be missing...rather, both him and his partner. Ever since that fateful day with Lancaster. Mari had to wonder if she were to blame, or if that was the final nail in the coffin and something within him snapped and he decided to just disappear from the world. M

Come to think of it, the woman was practically ready for redemption... Mari hadn't heard from back from Oscar yet, and the woman didn't like to double message people; if they didn't reply, she'd simply not bother - but this....this felt important. Very important. She needed to start placing contingencies for the possibility of her failure. Mari --> @Oscar: I'll be doing redemption soon. Mari --> Oscar: If I find myself unable to defeat it, I'll be teleporting to the Town of Beginnings and bee-lining for your store. Forewarning. Sorry. That was....one contingency in place

The future however... Mari wasn't sure how long they'd be stuck in this game for. She wasn't sure if they'd die here - in her past she wouldn't care. She had planned to. But lately, she found more and more reasons to fight for her survival. Not only her survival but to thrive. To actually live. Mari wanted to extend that to the people she cared about. And that included Lancaster. So, a large chunk of todays funds would go into his own home. Even the closest of lovers needed their own space - and she would provide it for him. Sure he had the basement, and that would make do on occasio

Another wave of Elementals...these things were completely relentless. THeir strange snowflake bodies floating around angrily in the snowy terrain. It would have been almost comical to watch them vibrate in anger if they weren't so terribly annoying. With another slash of her weapon these too fell down to the snow as nothing more than drops of water. The burn enchantment on her weapon proving more than useful. Mari couldn't stop. She still had so much to do. She had to make sure Corvo was well and truly frontline ready, when and if he so chose to take that mantle. She had to ensure her gu

[PT-PP-F8] Homicide Honeymoon Pt. 3 (SoW: Leeching Nightmare)
Mari posted a topic in Beginner Floors
Quest Objective | Must travel to the Stygian River [1/3] After a blissful reprise where Mari had managed to fall asleep, enjoying a small nap the two made the long walk up to the 10th floor. Hand in hand, talking about their plans for dinner, the absolute ridiculous manner of the quest-line, their distaste for stairs. Mari was used to such things; Lancaster, not so much - his separation from the Laughing Coffin still proving difficult for him. "Yanno...." Mari said, pausing before they moved to the next floor. "If you need, I'll fund you so you can create more of those...." She'd roll her -

Mari caught how his eyes lit up at even just a glance of the wine bottle, she'd tilt her head to the side watching as his fingers traced over the label and how his lips parted, murmuring unspoken words. It was clearly valuable for him. Mari felt pride swell in her chest. Lancaster would sit opposite her, and despite Mari's objections he'd take off her shoes - slowly rubbing the ball of her feet. The massage was a little clumsy but appreciated. Mari couldn't help but close her eyes. "Every day..." She'd mumble, unable to hide the weariness in her tone. "Every day, fresh bread will await you. [PT-PP-F8] Homicide Honeymoon Pt. 2 (SoW: Ferocious Foe)
Mari replied to Lancaster's topic in Beginner Floors
As expected Kumatetsu backed off of Lancaster the moment his flame aura and flame thorns kicked in, Mari snorted in amusement as the bear tried to bat the flames away from its nose. "Some beasts hit harder than players..." Mari would begin. Lancaster was fine, his health steady, there wasn't any fear or worry in her heart for him. Just a mild annoyance that anything dare attempt to strike him down. Still moving slowly so she could come up behind the beast, trained footsteps barely crunching against the dried leaves on the ground - even with her slight slip up that almost sent her spiraling fac -

"I was never much for games either, sometimes - but never something like..." Mari would gesture to the surrounding area with a nod of her chin. "Never like this." The man would call her alluring and Mari would run a hand over his cheek. "Can say much the same about you, marito." Had she said that right? Mari hoped so. Vincent then pressed his head against hers. He laughed. Hearing his laughter, loud and unabashed as it was...had she ever heard him laugh like that before? Mari would pull the cigarette from his lips so she could steal a deeper kiss - ignoring the roaring that shook lea -
Mari had shifted away from @Corvo, "We'll catch up soon - and this time, it won't take me two years." Mari thought about bringing up a joke about her time in jail, but it didn't seem like the time nor the place. She'd tell him later. Mari had to side step Vex, someone she had met once before - as he tore up the dance floor with some rather embarrassing moves. On her way back to the small table where Corvo sat Mari would pick up another drink, followed by a few meat skewers. Approaching Lancaster Mari could tell he was still rather uncomfortable. A frown played her lips. She had hoped he w

Funny thing about ice elementals on a ice riddled floor...they were always everywhere. Most the time they'd do their own thing, remaining somewhat passive until you tread too far into their territory, or bothered them. 'Bothered' being a loose term, one could rile up one of these strange creatures merely by breathing wrong. So now that Mari had started melting their brethren they bore down on her fast - another wave approached her and she could see even more close behind them. "How annoying..." Mari muttered as she lowered her body and drew her weapon clear across the next group that woul

The bears had been unexpected; they rarely grouped together like that. Mari just assumed it was an errant family. She had wandered fairly close to a nearby den - shame. If they stayed within it they would not have met their fate, but as with all things to do with NPCs - It did not matter. They'd respawn. Repopulate, as all digital beings in this place did. Except players. Never the players. Mari paused as a group of ice elementals approached - that wasn't entirely true though....was it? Alkor died and returned. So did Freyd. A burst of flame upon her weapon and with nary but a swing
