  1. The old gypsy shook her head. "Don't worry, it wasn't able to make me bleed or get hurt, I'm not that weak." she laughed. "So, how did you and it meet up?" she asked. Raeyliff then began to tell his story, how he found the phoenix soaring around, how it came closer to him, how they fought their way back and teleported here. The old gypsy nodded. "I suppose you've been through a lot then, Phoenix Tamer." she said. Raeyliff nodded before looking up. "Phoenix Tamer?" he asked. The old gypsy laughed. "Of course, it's part of the quest for you to have that title, Raeyliff, the Phoenix Tamer." she said, smiling. The phoenix squeaked, approving of that title. Raeyliff laughed. "Ah, but there's still an entire road to go through in teaching it about this world and learning its skills." he said.

  2. Raeyliff teleported to Floor 2 and walked with the phoenix still on his shoulder to the Town Square, where he saw the old gypsy sitting in her shop with somewhat of a stove there. He smiled and walked to the shop, knocked on the door, and stepped in. The old gypsy turned to look at him before gasping and then smiling. "I see our little adventurer has brought a phoenix. First time I've ever seen one, can I pet it?" she asked, motioning for him to sit. Raeyliff sat down in front of her and then she moved her hand to touch the phoenix, who bit her finger and jumped away. Raeyliff gasped as he pulled the phoenix away from the gypsy. "I'm so sorry! I didn't know! He's afraid of strangers, he's still not accustomed...can I use your stove?" he asked. The old gypsy nodded and Raeyliff then moved towards the stove, put the phoenix in, and lit it on fire. The phoenix squawked happily as it was back to its normal habitat. Raeyliff sighed as he sat back down with the old gypsy. "I'm sorry.." he said.

  3. The phoenix looked at him and tried to set itself on fire, sparking once or twice and showing some flame, but it wouldn't work. Raeyliff nodded while crouching. "I see, you've lost your flame. Listen, it's only a temporary thing, it's because it's a safe zone and you might burn something but we can still put you near a fireplace...or in one..we'll have you near a fire. I promise you that. For now, just deal with it as much as you can until we get somewhere, alright?" he asked. The phoenix squawked and then jumped on Raeyliff's shoulder. Raeyliff nodded and walked over to the teleportation square and said "Floor 2!", before teleporting with the phoenix to see the old gypsy that had given him the quest originally.

  4. The phoenix nodded as it jumped on Raeyliff's shoulder. Raeyliff smiled and then stood up, feeling relaxed for the first time today. He had succeeded in making a new friend, he had gotten a legndary phoenix, he would look amazing, but he would also have to take care of it. He still didn't know if it can control its own fire while sleeping or not, or if it can burn him. Raeyliff walked through the safe zone and the phoenix lost the ability to burst into flames, making it feel confused and squeak more than once. Raeyliff looked at it but didn't know what was going on, so he just stroked its head gently to give it some comfort. It looked at him with confused eyes, almost scared, so he set it down. "What's the matter, Ash?" he asked.

  5. Raeyliff felt the phoenix land on a stone in front of him after it had finished its goodbye. He had been looking at it and had heard several monsters screech, shriek, or roar in return. He wasn't sure if they were saying farewell or not, but he waited for it to land again. It landed in front on him on a rock as he sat down and then a screen popped up:

    YOUR PET'S NAME: []

Raeyliff looked at the screen and then looked at the phoenix. "Are you sure? We'll be back here, I promise. We'll come by and visit every once in a while. I'll take good care of you and give you better food, but the bread was all I had. But can you do this?" he asked. The phoenix made a slight nod with its head and a squeak as it looked at Raeyliff with it's emerald eyes.  "Hmm...well, we need to name you then. We'll name you....hmm...no, not that...let's see here...I think...oh yes, that. Alright, does the name Ash sound good to you?" he asked, looking at the phoenix.

    [bat dies]

Raeyliff picked up his battle-axe and charged. He needed to kill this thing as fast as possible in order to get out of Floor 9 and somewhere else, somewhere with less heat and much safer than where he was at the moment. He swung his battle-axe and cut the bat in half, breaking it into tiny digital pieces before getting one material out of it and nothing else. He smiled and stood where he was for a moment as the phoenix looked at him and fell to land on his shoulder before he walked to the border between the safe zone and the fighting zone. The phoenix flew high above him and set itself on fire once more that was brighter than all other things visible in front of him and made a sound that was beautiful yet had this annoying sense in it. He waited for it to come back, if it was going to, so that they can move on.

    [bat deals 2 damage]

Raeyliff charged and swung at the bat but knew that he wasn't swinging his final attack, mainly because of the slash that didn't really cut the bat severely. The bat jumped back to where it was safe before charging at Raeyliff and biting his arm leaving a shallow bite before jumping back. However, it was still painful, making Raeyliff drop his battle-axe. He gasped as he fell on his knees and breathed in deeply. No, I can't let it win...I have to kill it. I'm so freaking close I can't lose...but that hurt... he thought, gripping his arm. After a while he was soon relieved from the pain because of his life steal, that allowed him to only think of the bat for a moment before he felt some pain from the wound. He picked up his battle-axe with now an intent to kill this bat now and move on. He wasn't planning on staying here forever, after all.

Raeyliff swung and made contact with the bat after charging at it as fast as he could. The bat, unable to do anything , was hit and was thrown on the ground before shrieking at Raeyliff, who had to cover his ears. "Too loud, too loud." he said. Raeyliff then let go of his ears to pick up his battle-axe when a streak of black quickly smashed against him, throwing him on the ground painfully. "Ow..."he said, standing up. He looked at the bat, who was flying back to where it came from, and sighed. "Now I gotta kill you before I die, because it seems that my death is certain around here." he said, picking himself up and brushing all the dirt off of him. He raised his battle-axe to attack the bat, and it braced itself to attack Raeyliff before it died.

Raeyliff charged at the bat, but was engulfed by its black wings that were also flying in his direction. Blinded, he stopped and fell on one knee before looking at the bat, who had apparently noticed that it hadn't done any damage as well. Raeyliff laughed. "We both are really confused, aren't we?" he said, smiling. He stood up, grabbing his battle-axe and looked up. The phoenix was still flying around and he frowned. "Hmm...why doesn't it take a break from doing that? It's not like we're going anywhere soon or we're trying to grab someone's attention...ah well, I'll find out later on." he said, turning his attention back to the bat. "Alright mate let's wrap this up I gotta go places and do stuff." he said, before raising his battle-axe to attack.

The bat quickly slashed at Raeyliff with its wings, giving him a scratch on his right arm and severe pain. "OW! Oh my god that hurt!" he said, letting go of the battle-axe and grabbing his right arm. It was burning him, but not as quite as it would have if it was in real life. He breathed in before breathing out and looking at it. "You're stronger than I thought you were, I apologize for the mistake." he said, before picking up his battle-axe, wincing, and getting ready to fight it once more. If it had a higher overall damage than the rest then it would be much easier to kill it before it kills him or destroys him in battle.  Okay, I got this. No need to panic, I hope Phoenix is fine up there. Its a good thing he can fly. he thought.

    [bat: 11/11]

  11. Raeyliff was halfway towards reaching the safe zone and teleporting back when he saw this giant flame bat in front of him. "Whoops." he said, before raising his battle-axe. The phoenix flew upwards and set itself on fire while flying in a circle. Raeyliff looked up at it before looking at the bat. "You're my last target. Then I'm gone. I've had about enough of this. You all seem to think that something is going to stand in my way of being with Phoenix. It was his choice, leave him and I alone. It's about time he's gotten a friend around here, being with all you useless monsters wouldn't give someone so much good company. But I'll teach him and he'll teach me. We'll have fun. But you...will have to die, I'm sorry." he said, before charging.

Raeyliff went over to the skeleton and swung with all his strength towards it, breaking it straight in half. The glow of the skeleton's eyes faded as its skull rolled and finally came to a stop a meter away from Raeyliff. The rest of the bones broke away and fell on the ground. The phoenix came back, after 5 minutes of Raeyliff's wait, to rest on his shoulder. Raeyliff gave it a quick glance before looking back at the road. "Well, we've got to go all the way there and we still have two more monsters to fight. After that, we need to talk, give you a name, see if you can do anything." he said. The phoenix gave a little squeak of agreement and they then walked forward, with Raeyliff having to carry the battle-axe with both of his hands still.

    [skeleton misses]

Raeyliff charged at the skeleton yet once more and hit its arm off with a quick swing of his battle-axe. Above him, the phoenix set itself on fire to signify that Raeyliff was close to winning. Raeyliff looked up and laughed. "Ah man, I'm realllllyyyy going to like you, Phoenix." he said, as he raised his battle-axe for his next attack. He was almost done with the skeleton. After that, there came a fire creature and finally, some flaming rat somewhere that he can easily kill with one hit and move on. He smiled, but then he frowned. "What if it refuses to come with me..." he asked himself, worried. The phoenix could easily leave him and go on its way at the end after this. It didn't have to follow him...he didn't feel good after that realization. He felt bad, almost scared.

    [skeleton does nothing]

Raeyliff followed the path back only to be stopped by a skeleton in front of him. He was still in the place with high level monsters, so he expected this...in a way. Raeyliff looked at the phoenix. "Phoenix, I advise you to fly." he said, pulling out his battle-axe. The phoenix flew around where he was in circles. He looked at the skeleton. I wonder if it will stop me or if it accepts what I am doing...he thought. Raeyliff then raised his battle-axe and then charged, wanting to fight the skeleton quickly before getting out of this place. He saw only one or two monsters ahead after this skeleton, so everything should be fine afterwards. He swung at the skeleton, hoping to make contact. Feeling that he did, he smashed the skeleton's shoulder off, sending at least most of it's left side broken and on the ground. The skeleton roared while trying to gather any of its broken bones in vain. "Sorry", Raeyliff said. I wonder if it accepts what I am doing because it knows that I have to do it, not that I want to. he thought.

  15. Raeyliff was confused at first and then he looked at his hands. He realized he was wearing gloves. "Oh, I see. Alright then." he said, then took them off. He put his hand out again but this time the phoenix went on fire. He pulled his hand away quickly. "What..." he asked. Wait, I'm doing something wrong. Look around. he thought, and looked at the skeletons and animals around, who seemed to be fixed on the phoenix. Is he a king...? A leader? Maybe I should be looking away in respect, then... he thought. He then bowed down, closed his eyes, and put his hand out. Please work, please work, please work. he thought. After a full minute of silence, he felt soft feathers touch his hands. He gasped as he opened his eyes  only to see that the phoenix was looking at him with its emerald green eyes. "You know, you're really cute for something so magnificent." he said, before holding a finger for it to jump on. It backed away and then flew to land on his shoulder and then he smiled. "Alright then. Once we get out of here, we get you a name. We need for you to have a name, after all." he said, putting his gloves away. [Phoenix familiar obtained]

    [Lost 3 bread loaves]

Raeyliff looked at the phoenix as it soared over to get closer to him. He looked at it before asking. "Dear phoenix, what do you want? Hey wait...I have some bread here." he said, pulling out 1 piece of bread. He dropped it in front of it and it looked at him before setting itself on fire. He stood up and backed away. "Okay okay, I get it now, I think. You want the bread on fire?" he asked, and the phoenix moved it's head with the fire growing as it nodded. The bread that was left in front of it burned and it started to eat it while looking at Raeyliff. "Ah, I see." he said. He pulled out two pieces of bread and then, wearing his Philosopher's Gloves, put them in the lava carefully until they were covered, then put them in front of the phoenix. He pulled out the final one and broke it to two pieces and put one in his hand. The phoenix, finishing its bread, looked at Raeyliff before it ate the bread on his hand. He smiled gently. "Say, Phoenix. What if you come with me? I'm in search of a good friend like you, we can go and I can get some stuff for you." he put out his hand to touch it but it backed away, looking at him with intense eyes.

    [Raeyliff and boar miss]

Raeyliff braced himself as he noticed the boar go for an attacking position before lunging itself at him. He raised his battle-axe in defense and was able to block it nicely and jump back to safety a few steps away from where he originally was. He sighed before he turned to look at the boar. "Is there no end to you? I have met several monsters like this one before..they just seem to never die no matter what you do to them. It seems to be that maybe my skill in fighting isn't that good enough...or maybe I'm just too hesitant or weak..." he said to himself, before standing up straight and taking a neutral stance that allowed him to go defensive or offensive, if he chose to go with one of both.

    [boar dies]

Raeyliff swung his battle-axe down and closed his eyes, unable to look at the boar. He knew he made contact however, by hearing the small sound of his health bar rising up to its 100%. I killed it and I took it's life. Fun....funn....GOD DAMN IT THIS ISN'T OKAY!! he though angrily, as he bent over and picked it up. He picked it up, and walked over to the nearest small volcano and dropped it's body gently there before it exploded into a bunch of digital pieces. Raeyliff looked over and held his breath before walking back to the place he was in and sat down to take a breath. "I killed a boar, stole it's life twice. I released a skeleton from its evil demon...can they possibly cancel out? I guess so, maybe..I just have to keep moving.." he said to himself, before noticing that the phoenix was still looking at him from a nearby volcano. I wonder what it wants...? he thought.

  19. [8933 BD:2 MD:1]

Raeyliff raised his battle-axe to swing it down and end the boar's life when he heard it whimper. Then he stopped for a second and backed up. It couldn't do anything, not in its state, but at least he wanted to let it have its final roar, or breath, or whatever. The boar looked at him with eyes he was uncertain of what they showed before it looked up at the sky and made a loud boar sound. Raeyliff nodded as he looked down. He felt like it was better if he killed it and got it over with but he understood. It wanted to die after it had gave its final words. Although he couldn't understand them, he hoped that the boar found its death honorable. Raeyliff then stood up and picked up his battle-axe. "I don't want this...but I have to do it. After you die I'll put your body in the lava so that its fire lives withIin the volcanoes." he said, raising his battle-axe up. He felt the phoenix watch him but he didn't want to look at it now, not at this moment.

    [boar is just dying now.]

Raeyliff charged and swung at it fiercely, meaning to kill it. He would kill it, he would maybe kill one more monster, then he was done for the day. He'd see if he can get a familiar, raise it, teach it about life, then maybe finish up this quest. But it was just the beginning so there was no rush. Raeyliff grinned after stopping and turned around, knowing that he had made contact. His health bar flashed green as 1 HP returned. The boar was limping, trying to stand, while Raeyliff looked at it. "I'd feel bad for you, but I know that if I died the same way you'd be trying to throw me in the lava. So no, don't try." he said, before raising his battle-axe to finish it off. "I can't promise this will be fast but you will have to cooperate, alright? Thanks for a fun fight, I'll see you later." he said, raising his battle-axe to finish it off.

Raeyliff turned his attention to the boar and charged, only to swing way too early. Noticing that, he sighed and shook his head. "God...I'm stupid..." he said, before stopping. The boar was already looking at him as he turned around to look at it, and made a sound similar to laughter. He sighed. "Yeah yeah, laugh all you want. You're still going to die anyway." he said, before raising his battle-axe for another try. He wasn't going to leave before at least getting a material from this boar that he could use to make potions back at his alchemy lab.  Raeyliff, Raeyliff...by the way, if we get a phoenix, what do we call it...? You know, Fawks was  the name given to Dumbledore's phoenix, we can use that...or, we can call it something more original...if you want. he thought to himself.

Raeyliff charged at the boar and slashed it's side and stopped himself from running any further, he turned around to see that it had fallen, shrieking in pain, but then stood up. Oh, was it that powerful? he thought, then noticed that his health bar was back to being full because of the life steal. "Ah, it was critical." he said, before getting rammed by the flame boar. "Oww, you're on fire AND you push me?" he said, falling on his back. He stood up and grabbed his battle-axe. "Well, I'll still get some more materials from you as well, so I don't really care. As long as you die quickly enough." he said, raising his battle-axe to continue fighting. He wanted to take a look at where the phoenix was but decided against it, thinking that it would be much better to focus on his fight than on a bird he wasn't sure if he was able to make friends with or not.

Raeyliff charged at it but tripped on a pebble, making him fall over. He cursed loudly. "God, this is taking SO LONG IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZYYYY!!!!" he yelled, before standing up. The boar, confused at Raeyliff actions, decided to back away a few steps to make sure he does not surprise it at all. Raeyliff looked at the boar and sighed. "Kayaba...I hate you. If I never said it before, now I have. I hate you, I hate you, I really hate you, Kayaba." he said, before picking up his battle-axe and raising it up to fight.  I keep missing again and again there's almost no chance I'll get anything from this boar, it might just kill me before I do. I gotta do something, and fast...he thought.

  24. Raeyliff walked in with a big smile on his face. "Got some new mats, time to go and craft some stuff. It's been a while." he said, grinning, before closing the door and setting himself up at the alchemy lab. He put on his Philosopher Gloves and began to work. "These new gloves should do the trick. Perfect. Here we go..." he said, before starting to pull one mat and begin boiling some water and adding the powder to it, and stirring.

Raeyliff smelled the potion before he was able to finish it up, so he put a cork on it to stop the smell from moving around and opened a window and breathed in deeply. "God, I really hate when this happens..." he said, before pulling out another mat and quickly starting to work on it.

Raeyliff put some water into the solution before it blew up on his face. He didn't have a chance to yell, he just stared with shock in his eyes. Then he quickly began to clean up his face and the area around him and cleaned up the pot. "Why does this happen to me...I wonder if Azide has any luck...I'm failing, even with these gloves." he said, sighing. "Ah well, notes, then some work tomorrow, whenever I find me some mats...oh yes, I need to salvage anything from that smelly thing..." he said.
