  1. Raeyliff looked at it. "Well, you're definitely not what I am looking for..." he said, before turning to look at the direction where he saw the "phoenix". It was now closer to him than before, looking at him with an intense gaze. It's body was, literally, on fire, but it was a darker shade of red because of it's dark red feathers. Aside from that, it had emerald green eyes that seemed to look through you and in your soul. It tilted its head at him before  looking another direction and flying to it. Raeyliff shrugged. So it is a phoenix after all. I wonder if it had taken any interest in me...I don't feel like the kind of person that can have the power or the personality to have such an amazing being. A phoenix...wow. he thought, before turning his attention to the boar. "Alright, you thing. Let's fight, before I make my way around to level up some more." he said.

Raeyliff charged directly at the skeleton and swung for it's head. He was scared of missing by hitting too high, but he needed to take that risk in order to finish this battle up, get loot, and continue fighting his way to that thing...a phoenix, as he assumed it was. He wasn't sure, it could've been a dragon that he noticed from far away, but he had to take his chances then as well. He felt his battle-axe make contact with the skeleton's skull and broke it, making it roll across the floor as the golden glow of its eyes faded to nothing and all the bones broke apart. Raeyliff grinned, looking at the loot he got. " Not bad, let's move on to the next one." he said, turning his attention to the flame boar or dog- whatever it was, that was staring daggers into him at the moment. He grinned before raising his battle-axe to fight once more.

    EARNED: 1 MAT + 55 COL

  3. Raeyliff clicked the "col" button and sent the 55 col to Alyss. "Don't worry, I don't need those." he said, before standing up, hearing that she levelled he stood up and looked at her "Good. But we still do need a break. We've done more than enough for today, and what I believe is more than what you can handle safely anyway. I'm still sorry for putting you in such danger, it wasn't the right thing to do. Aside from that, we got some good stuff, and you've experienced the heat of the battle, which means that you'll be able to fight a lot more on your own now than with the need of a person. We did a good job today." he finished, before resting his back on the ground with his battle-axe beside him while closing his eyes.

Raeyliff looked at Ariel and shook his head. "No...but yours is, and so is Red's....I wonder why is whatever attacking you guys not attacking me..." he said, and thought. There's not much of a difference between them and I, ,which means that we all should be fine. Yet they were attacked by some unknown enemy...wonder what it is...no matter. Maybe it's an illusion..he thought. "I really can't think of why you guys can get hurt. I mean, unless you're really thirsty or hungry or something...maybe that affects the health. And no, there's nothing ahead except some more sand. The map begs to differ, and says that we're around halfway through the desert, halfway there to our destination." he said, looking back at Ariel.

  5. "Alright, so when I killed the mimic, I got a material. However, I was able to also get some loot, but I have to choose between a good item or some col. If I get a good item it won't change much especially since it does not have any buffs. Col would help since it would help you save up for a good rare or perfect weapon that will have buffs that will help you out a lot." he explained, while looking at Alyss. He then asked. "By the way, are you okay? We're definitely taking a break after this, we've fought some very hard monsters..." he said, before looking down. He wouldn't say anything but he felt that it was completely his fault. The monsters were coming with high levels and health because of his level, but he wanted to help Alyss, and there was no other way. Raeyliff might have not been showing it, but he felt guilty of the state Alyss was in.

Raeyliff charged and swung at it powerfully, knocking another arm off and two of its ribs and making them fall back to the lava, melting them. The skeleton yelled in pain as it bent over in pain. Raeyliff frowned. "I don't want to kill you, but it's just that you're cursed." he said, justifying why he was killing it. The skeleton turned to look at him with eyes filled with hatred, but did not do anything at the moment. He breathed in and out as he adjusted himself back to a fighting stance to be able to finish off this monster with a final swing. He would then move on to the flame dog, see if he could tame the fox, maybe...or even.... what was that flying there? Is...is that a phoenix?! Phoenixes exist in this game?! I've only heard so much about them and how they are in mythology...they should be legendary! Still though, I'll fight this monster for now and another one then see if I can tame anything around here.

    [Mimic dies]

Raeyliff looked at Alyss and saw the fear in her eyes, and turned to look at the mimic. You can kill me but I can't let you kill a friend of mine. YOU'RE DYING, RIGHT NOW. Raeyliff charged at it as fast as he could and slashed right through it, putting all his anger and frustration into the power of the battle-axe's swing. The mimic looked stunned for a full second before turning into bits of digital coding. He took a deep breath before falling on the ground to rest. As he looked up, he saw a notice come up in front of him. He sat up. "Alyss, come over here. We got something." he said. Too tired to even look for materials but at least here they are. Wonder what to choose...Alyss should. It's her first time fighting, she would do better with the stuff.  he thought.

Earned: 55 col or 1 good item?

  8. Raeyliff had had enough. The mimic almost looked happy, and he couldn't let that be. He stood up, grabbed his battle-axe, and growled at the creature, who seemed not to care any more. Raeyliff charged and swung directly at it, slashing its side and knocking it over. and turned around and raised his battle-axe just at the right moment to stop an attack from the mimic, but not enough to not get hit. Still though, it was now close to death than it had ever been. Raeyliff then turned to look at Alyss. "Not immortal, just our skills aren't good enough. It's too fast. Your turn." he said.

Raeyliff felt the scratch of Alyss's weapon  on his shoulder and felt a sharp pain afterwards. "Ahhhhhh.....oww, that hurt...what were you thinking Alyss...?" he asked, as he dropped his battle-axe on his foot, causing even more pain. He held his leg up and started hopping on one leg. "Alyss this is all your fault! Alyss...I thought we were friends...." he said, before laughing and setting his leg down. He held up his battle-axe, but was too late. The mimic attacked him, sending him back on the ground. Raeyliff took a deep breath and then cursed as loudly as he possibly could before putting his hands up to cover his face. "I'm sorry....switch." he said. God...what is wrong with me today? We were just on a roll like a second ago!

  10. Raeyliff nodded and frowned. "You still got bit." he said, and smiled as he stood up and grabbed his battle-axe. PLEASSEEEEEEEE Kayaba. I just want to kill it. Is that too much? Oh wait. It might attack again. Better dodge. he thought. He looked at the Mimic, and the Mimic looked at him. He raised his battle-axe in a gesture of surrender, and as the Mimic charged to kill him he sidestepped, making it eat nothing. He laughed before looking at Alyss. "Now that's how you dodge." he said. "Your turn, Alyss." he said, smiling. He walked behind her and then turned around to see what she would do. Hmmmm.......I hate mimics. Note to self. Unless the mimic dies quickly, then I'm okay.  he thought.

Raeyliff nodded. "Never seen a mimic before, they look friendly enough." he said sarcastically, before laughing. He then charged, hoping to land some heavy damage on it. Instead, he was met by the Mimic's speed as it rushed to attack him first, causing him to be confused. What? It's attacking already? And with such speed... Raeyliff was thrown back on the ground. He looked at the sky and then he breathed in deeply before yelling "KAYABAAAAAAAAA I SWEAR I WILL KILL YOU IF YOU DON'T HELP ME OUT FOR ONCE YOU HEAR ME?!". After yelling that, he let out a sigh and then said. "Switch, please..". He felt frustrated. He wasn't able to craft any good potions so far, he wasn't even close to reaching the front lines. So many things are just not working out and Kayaba is just laughing at my helplessness. 10/10 would play again, Kayaba. 10/10... he thought, calming down.

Raeyliff didn't take kindly to monsters who attacked him "stealthily". In fact, he hated that out of everything. He smirked as he saw Alyss hit him and then, after she got out of the way, he charged and swung his battle-axe towards it as much as he could, at the moment, slashing it's side and making it fall on it's back from impact. He stood up afterwards and laughed. "Dead yet?" he asked. As soon as he asked that, the boar quickly stood straight and charged at him with the same force he used on it, pushing him back as well before it jumped back to its place. He grinned. "At least you didn't attack my back now, or else you would've been in trouble..." he said, before looking at Alyss. "Switch." he said, and gave her a thumbs up as he felt his Life Steal skill work it's charm and heal him 1 HP.

Raeyliff raised up his battle-axe. "Uhh..hey there, Mr. Skeleton." he said, quite unsure of his choice to fight the skeleton. It had 11 HP but it attack was low, so he nodded. It relies more on its health but its attack is low due to its skeletal body, without any muscles it can't really add any power to its attacks. he thought. Raeyliff nodded. "Listen, dead man. I just want to get a familiar and walk out. No harm done...right?" he asked. The skeleton growled and attacked, hitting Raeyliff powerfully on the chest. "Oww...well, enough of you. Die." he said, and charged. Swinging his battle-axe at it, he was able to slash it's arm off and into the lava. The skeleton looked back at its arm and then glared at Raeyliff before roaring. Raeyliff frowned and then went into an offensive position. "Show me what you got." he said, smirking.

    [Raeyliff: 20/22]

    [Flame Skeleton: 7/11]

  14. "Wait, what?" Raeyliff asked. As the gypsy made her way to the teleportation stand and teleported, he nodded before walking outside the safe zone. "She didn't let me even say thank you. Wonder what she was going to tell me anyway? Hmm...maybe something I'll have to learn on my own. Old people are always like that, aren't they?" he said to himself, as he walked down the path. He looked around at the monsters around him and started to jog, trying to get past the small levels and into the bigger monsters that were going to be actually worth something. He stopped after reaching a place close to a smaller volcano and looked around at the monsters. "Hmm....seems like I have reach a good place. I don't want these to be my familiars though. Flame dog, flame skeleton...there's also a fire fox here as well...funny." he said, and grinned. "Hmm...I'll take the flame skeleton on first and see how stuff go with him." he said, approaching the skeleton and pulling out his battle-axe in the process.

  15. "It has to be small. It can fly or walk on land, it can have fur, it can be a normal animal or a mystical animal. Depends on whatever you want." the gypsy said, looking at Raeyliff.

"No, it depends on if the animal chooses me. That was a test, right?" he asked.

The old gypsy nodded, smiling. "Good boy. Now I'm sure you know your way on finding a familiar...oh wait! One more thing." she said, grabbing Raeyliff's arm before he can leave.

Raeyliff turned to look at her, curious. "What is it?" he asked.  He was standing up, about to thank her before making his way out of town to fight some monsters and get his familiar.

The old gypsy hesitated, nodded, and then let go of his hand. "You'll find out on your own. Meet me at Floor 2 once you're done, I'll be there to talk if you want to." she said, before standing up and making her way to the teleportation stand. "Good luck", she said, before teleporting.

  16. Raeyliff put his battle-axe on his back and clapped, smiling. "Good job. Now let's continue to the next one. We can fight about as much as you want us to before we take a break for the day. I can go for a long time." he said, grinning. Walking with Alyss in the path, he heard a grunt but was too late to turn around. A boar, about the same size as the one before it, attacked Raeyliff directly on his back, making him fall forward and straight to the ground. He stood up slowly before turning to look at Alyss and nodded. "Fight it. Don't worry about me just yet. Go." he said, before grabbing his battle-axe from his back and holding it in offence position behind Alyss.

  17. Raeyliff looked down, frowning. He had just become an alchemist yet he was failing at making health potions so far. The one potion he was able to make so far was a potion that can change hair color, and that he took pride in, since it was his first potion ever. Raeyliff said, a bit sadly "No, I don't. I've recently became an alchemist but I still lack the experience to make a good health potion." he said, before looking up. Just as he was about to turn and look at the dragon, a player came out of nowhere and introduced himself as Crozeph. Ah, nice. Another player coming to join us, the more the merrier. Besides, it will help us gather more col and materials if we have more people and work together as a group. Even though I can't provide anything at the moment...he thought. Putting on a smile, he nodded. "Hey Crozeph. Welcome to the group. Yeah, we were just discussing how we're going to go with this hunt." he said.

  18. Raeyliff came back the next day and rolled up his sleeves. "Okay, time to do some more work!" he said, before pulling out a material and beginning to crush it into fine powder while boiling water so that he can mix right away.

    [8417 CD:4]

Raeyliff's potion blew up, causing him to yell in surprise and jump back. "God..." he said, before sighing and grabbing a mop to clean up. After cleaning up, he pulled out his last material and sighed. "My last one already? Well, I'm going out to get some more soon though...hope this works." he said, before cutting the material and mixing it with water and stirring. He wanted, with all he could, to not fail, but his hopeless self just couldn't care less anymore. He had failed quite a bit, it was starting to look grim. The old man was right when he taught Raeyliff about failure in alchemy; it was quite frequent.

    [8418 CD:1]

Raeyliff's potion sizzled and made a foul smell, making him add lots of water to not make it acidic or dangerous to touch. After seeing that it was fine, he grabbed the pot and cleaned it well before putting it back and walking out. How depressing. God, I thought alchemy was so much better. I don't want to even take notes, I'll do that later. For now, I'm going to get some air and grab some materials, and maybe buy some stuff that will help me out before coming back tomorrow. he thought, sighing, while closing the door.

  19. Raeyliff laughed. "Just like your fortune telling?" he asked. That earned him a nice hit in the head by the old gypsy's cane. Raeyliff yelled in pain and rubbed his head. "You didn't have to do that, it was just a joke." he answered.

"Well, now you know that the quest is just as real as your pain." she laughed.

"Real funny, old lady. Real funny." he said, and grinned. They laughed together before the gypsy turned to look at him. "Listen, my boy. There isn't much time to waste. I believe you are capable of taming the greatest beast if you believe it. Know that you should not choose the beast, or it will hurt you. The beast will choose you on its own accord and whether it accepts you for the remainder of this quest or not depends on whether you are able of taming it right and keeping it happy." she answered. Raeyliff nodded "What else?" he asked. He needed as much tips and advice as possible from this gypsy in order for him to make the right choice on which beast would he get. It wasn't going to be easy.

  20. Raeyliff looked at the gypsy with confusion. "What do you mean?" he asked.

She sighed. "You want to know how to tame a familiar, am I right?" she asked.

Raeyliff looked at her and shrugged. "Yeah, but can I really do that? I don't think so. As far as I heard, it's some sort of rumor. Or a legend of some kind. Of course I hope it's true, but in a game like this you can't really tell what's real from what's not." he said. Was this one of the game's effects on the human brain? Will I be able to tell what's real from what's not after I come back? IF I return? There was no promise to that either. This game is taking a toll on both my mind and my body, and it might not end well for me if this continues. The gypsy turned to look him in the eye and smiled. "Well, my son. I can assure you it is pretty real." she answered.

  21. Raeyliff nodded. "Sounds good. I haven't see a curved blade before. Ah...it seems that a boar stands in our path. Well, I'll attack first, just to show you how to, then you will." he said, smiling, before pulling out Helspendel. "Hmm...I hope I don't kill it." he said, and charged.

Raeyliff swung his battle-axe directly at the boar and slashed its side with ease. With his new Athletics skill, he was able to carry the battle-axe better and without effort. It felt good to have that skill, since it came in handy that well. The boar was pushed back by the attack, but wasted no time in attacking Raeyliff, pushing him away as well. Raeyliff jumped back and nodded at Alyss. "Now it's your turn. Give it your best shot!" he said.

  22. Raeyliff looked up at the black sky filled with volcano smoke and thought out loud "Okay, how do I learn how to tame a beast? I never knew they could be tamed anyway...or is this just a legend...?" he said. Suddenly, an old gypsy woman wearing a black robe and holding a cane came and sat down next to him before saying "Mind if I sit down here? I think we need to talk.". Raeyliff, being deep in his thinking, jumped, frightened by the voice next to him.

"HEY! Don't sneak up on me like that!" he yelled.

The old woman looked up at him sternly and hit him in the knee with her cane. "Watch who you're speaking to boy. Show some respect for an old lady." she said.

Raeyliff sat down right after getting hit in the knee and bend over, holding it. "Owww...." he said, before looking at the old lady. "Sorry, I was just startled a bit. How are you?" he asked, smiling.

"Startled? Boy, you were scared!" she said, laughing, causing Raeyliff to give her an angry look. "Ah, don't worry. I'll keep it a secret. I'm fine, my boy, but it seems that you are not." she answered.

  23. [8286 BD:2 MD:9]

    [Raeyliff fails]

    [boar deals 2 damage]

Raeyliff didn't even have time to charge or swing before the boar attacked. Just a blur was all he saw, and before he could raise the battle-axe to defend himself, it rammed him with as much strength as it could, pushing him back and making him fall on the ground. "Not cool, man. Not cool. Now I'll kill you without feeling bad." Raeyliff said, standing up. He grabbed his battle-axe and growled. He had about enough of this boar, and it was time to move on, and if he didn't soon enough, he'd find himself really angry and empty handed with a day wasted killing a single boar. It wasn't going to be a fun day that way, and he didn't intend for it to be boring. He stood again, in fighting position, and raised his battle-axe to continue the fight.

    [boar: 5/9]

    [Raeyliff: 14/17]

  24. Raeyliff teleported to Floor 9 after hearing rumors about a quest that allowed you to have familiars in this game. This is a truly good opportunity to get a good familiar, but it should choose me, not the other way around. He walked around Floor 9's main town, feeling quite heated up and sweating a lot. Wow, this place is really hot. Mines and forges must be open all around here, I assume. In this kind of place, I would take advantage of the volcanoes, the rocks, the ores underground...but since I'm an alchemist, I'd be looking for enhancing ingredients here. Good place to know. he thought, walking around. He decided to take a break, after a while, from the walking he'd been doing all around the town, and sat down to rest. Now, if the legends are true, I should be able to find some good familiars here. I wonder if they'll accept me though. That I will need to find out for myself. he thought, looking around.
