    [Raeyliff misses]

    [boar misses]

Raeyliff decided to take a defensive position, thinking that the boar would obviously go for an attack. And so he was right, because by taking a defensive position, the boar thought he was about to die, therefore attacking. However, Raeyliff was easily able to dodge it, and, after realizing it has been tricked, the boar turned around and looked at Raeyliff with as much hatred as it can show. Raeyliff laughed and then smiled. "Hm. This is fun, but I'd like to not stick around for long. Just die and give me your loot, if you have any." he said, before turning to his offensive stance, ready to swing at the boar. It was fun fighting this boar, it really was, but he needed to keep moving and gathering materials, or else he'd close his shop too early. He needed his shop to stay open for as long as he could to continue crafting so that he would gain more and more experience. He couldn't let Azide become a better alchemist than him. This was a race against time, and a race against a fellow alchemist.

Raeyliff walked next to both girls and stayed silent, pretty much unsure of what to say. So far everything had been going well, they've crossed (as he saw on his map) only a quarter of the desert so far. It's been boring, with the winds picking up sand almost always and throwing it directly at Raeyliff, sometimes even in his eyes. It was never painful, just bothersome. Looking up at the health bars of his party members, he noticed that both Red and Ariel had lost 1 HP, but from an unknown source. He looked around and didn't see any monsters, so he shrugged, but that wasn't enough for him. Winds and sand limit our vision. Is it possible that whatever has "attacked" both of the girls is extremely fast, or maybe just an invisible monster? Impossible. I have never heard of such creatures before, but this is Floor 5, and I've never been in it. Let's just keep walking. It's almost 12 PM right now, which means that after some more hours we'll have to call it a day and pack. I think it would be a good idea to get the cargo first, camp, then come back. he thought, looking at the ground as he walked.

  3. "Oh yeah, I forgot. Well, we'll take the way that most players take then." he said, and smiled. He walked next to Alyss as they moved. "I don't think I'll get any loot if you kill them, but you need the loot more than I do, so its fine." he answered. After hearing her question of how many monsters he's killed, he shrugged. "Hard to say, but I'm pretty sure I've killed over 10 monsters. I'm a beginner too, you know? By the way...what weapon do you use, and what level are you? I'm level 7, and a battle-axe user." he said, trying to know more about her fighting abilities before they walked out of the safe zone. It was extremely dangerous, in his opinion, to team up with players without knowing exactly what their fighting attributes were. They soon continued walking until they reached the outside of the safe zone and began to see one or two boars around.

  4. He stood up as well and stretched until he felt his muscles relaxed everywhere before nodding and grinning. "Okay, let's go! I'm going to be supporting you as you go so that I can interfere only when things seem to get really tough, and because I don't want to kill the monster before you get to attack it, alright?" he asked. "As for the profession I have, it is alchemy. It's really cool, you get to mix potions and stuff." he said, grinning. "We'll talk more to detail about that later, if you want. Right now, off we go! Lead the way, Alyss!" he said encouragingly, grinning.

  5. "Really? That's awesome!" he said. He hadn't met a person that cared for the kids before...he didn't know that there were kids in this game in the first place. He grinned before looking up at the tree. "Ah yes, I've been out fighting a lot. Met a lot of people, got myself a profession...but I still have a long way to go. Just like in any game you play, the goals you have are always replaced by ones you want to achieve as you level up and complete more of them." he said, before looking back at Alyss. "So, would you like to go outside and fight for the first time? I'll guide you through it." he said, smiling and looking at her. This would be a good chance for her to experience the world outside of the safe zone for once, to see how to fight and how to be a successful and strong player in this game. She had to learn now, or else she wouldn't be able to progress later on. And nobody would want that, of course.

  6. Raeyliff nodded and sat down before sighing. "Yeah, I guess." he said, before looking at her. "So, what have you been doing lately? Fighting monsters or just helping out kids?" he asked. He looked around before looking at Alyss. He didn't really know the girl except for her name, so he wanted to know more about her in terms of what she's been doing and what she was planning to do in the future. It was close to the only way he'd be able to understand and know the path she's going to take or is taking at the moment. He smiled a bit, trying to regain his old cheerfulness after seeing the kids and thinking all these horrible, yet quite true, thoughts. He just didn't want to think about it anymore, he wanted it out of his mind.

  7. Raeyliff noticed a girl approach him and stood up as to show respect, but after hearing what she had to say he laughed and shrugged. "I haven't seen you before either. My name's Raeyliff, but I don't know yours just yet. As to why I was talking about kittens, it was because I was thinking about these rumors of a quest that brings familiars as a reward." he said, smiling. He looked at the kids that were running off. How old are they? Why are they here? Trapped as well? But...they're so young. Something like the NerveGear can totally damage their brain, and if they're stuck here, then who knows how their physical bodies are going to keep up. Damn you, Kayaba. It's one thing to trap teenagers here, but it's another to trap innocent kids. he thought angrily. He tried hard not to show that he was angry while looking at these kids, and said quietly. "How innocent and lovely they are, children."

  8. Raeyliff smiled. He had made a good potion. Sure, it wasn't that big of a deal, but having made a bad one already, he had felt like he should give up. Now he continued, grabbing the bad potion in an attempt to salvage the item back from it.

    [8186 CD:2]

He had failed to salvage any materials today, but he had managed to complete 1 good health potion. He wrote down his data and what he noticed on a notebook beside him before closing down the shop for the day. He would go on the next day to do some more work later on.

  9. Raeyliff started his first day in the back room by looking at an alchemy book. "Ah, here we are. Alright, let's do this basic health potion." he said, rolling up his sleeves as he began to work. He pulled out a material that was going to help him and nodded. "Good, good." he said, before starting. He crushed it and released its juice, and then cut it up into little pieces. Afterwards, he boiled some water and began to mix things together...

  11. Raeyliff teleported back to the Town of Beginnings at Floor 1 and rested. It's been a long time since he last came back here, so many people met, so much stuff has happened. He breathed in deeply before letting it all out, relaxing himself, before lying down under a tree in one of the gardens inside town. He rested there for a bit, looking at all the players running around to and from the town. Man, they all look so busy. I never took a moment to relax like this before, mainly because it doesn't suit me. Now I want to get up. Maybe after 5 minutes. It would be great. If I find some inspiration to go and fight some more boars it would be enough to get me away from under this tree. I wonder if there are animals that could be tamed? I'd like a kitten, or maybe even a nice bear cub. They'd be really cute and really nice companions when I'm resting. he thought, looking around.

  12. Raeyliff set up his shop in the main town around the Town Square. He wouldn't call it a big achievement, but it was something. A nice house-like shop that was nicely built out of wood,it looked nice and welcoming. He walked inside and looked around, seeing a counter and a door behind it that led to a table filled with tools made specifically for alchemy and shelves filled with books he wanted to read and research through to learn more about alchemy. He walked outside just one more time and put up a sign for the shop. "The Philosopher's Shop" he read, before smiling. "This is going to be sooooo awesome! Can't wait!" he grinned before walking inside and taking a seat behind a counter, waiting for his first customer.

    [Raeyliff deals 2 base dmg+ 1 dmg Helsependel +1 critical + 1 life steal]

    [boar deals 1 damage]

Raeyliff turned around, and, using his momentum, slashed the boar's side with the battle-axe, making it fall a meter or two away from Raeyliff. Raeyliff felt himself regain some health from that critical hit and grinned. He felt better now, a better chance of winning. Just as he had lowered down his axe, the boar charged and rammed into Raeyliff, making him fall on his back before jumping back to take cover. Raeyliff was about to yell out in anger but realized the ridiculousness of the situation and laughed: if only he wasn't  stupid enough to let his guard down early. Raeyliff nodded and stood up. "Fine then, have it your way. I'll still kill you though." he said, picking up Helsependel and having it ready for another attack.

    [boar: 5/9]

    [Raeyliff: 16/17]

  14. Raeyliff teleported to Floor 8 out of curiosity to see how the place looked. As he looked around he was interrupted by the shouting of a player close by declaring that he would be going over to fight a bunch of monsters and get some loot. Tempting...I want to join as well. That would be smart, I think. he thought, heading over to the player. He nodded before putting out his hand to shake Baldur's. "Name's Raeyliff. Heard that you're going on a search for loot and equipment, and I am interested. Level 7 as well, battle-axe user. Pleased to meet you." he said, grinning. He had never met Baldur before, and looking at the girl next to him, he nodded before smiling and saying. "Hello! You'll be joining us as well?" he asked. He looked around, wondering what kind of monsters lived in this floor anyway. Knowing that this guy was also level 7 showed him that he was not in harm's way, since they were both equal...sort of. Until he got enough skill points to add to other skills of his this was all he can give to the team, but this was a chance for him to improve as well.

  15. Raeyliff charged at the boar, not wanting to waste any more time. He swung Helsependel forward and aimed directly at the boar, hoping to make contact and kill it straight away. However, even if he did kill it, his main goal was to be able to get a material out of it, so he wouldn't mind if it put up a fight.

    [8147 BD: 5 MD:8]

    [Raeyliff misses]

    [boar deals 1 damage]

Raeyliff swung at the boar, hoping he'd make contact. However, feeling the swing miss, he realized that he was out of luck: the boar jumped back before he could hit it. Taking advantage, the boar quickly rammed Raeyliff's back, forcing him two steps forward and almost making him lose his balance. He sighed. Although he did want to fight today, he didn't want them to be long, but he guessed that this is what he was going to get with this boar. Nothing to do about that. Better go and attack once more in order to at least bring up some sort of equality here. he thought.

    [boar: 9/9]

    [Raeyliff: 16/17]

  16. Raeyliff teleported up to Floor 2 in order to kill some boars, other monsters, but mainly gather some materials. He had gained 4 materials from the <<Earning A Livng>> quest along with the alchemist profession, but he felt that in order to progress he would need more materials so that he would not run out in such a short time. He could never be too careful. Besides, he could easily use whatever extra materials he gained from this material gathering time to go over and buy something from the Fairy Tail-or or the Gurando Foji. He did need a few things to improve himself. Looking around, he walked outside of the safe zone of the town he teleported in and walked towards a boar who was facing him. "Alright then, let's start with this one", he said, pulling out Helsependel and ready to attack.

  17. Raeyliff sat down on a bench in a town outside of the main town of Floor 2. He looked around, before looking at the ground to think. He had already sent a message to all the guild's members asking them to be here as soon as possible, as well as mentioning how important this meeting was for the sake of the guild. He also had put up posters announcing that Dawn's Blade is recruiting new players, but he expected that he would only get 6 or less players coming his way for recruiting. After Pyro's sudden leave, he was the one who had to take over to ensure that the guild, or whatever was left of it, would not fall apart. I'm sure she had her reasons, maybe a quest or some trouble somewhere. It'll be alright. At the moment we need to focus on getting the guild's act together and bringing it up to a good number of people, or else it might break apart sooner than it was created. he thought. Blinking and then shaking his head. He looked up and around to see if anyone had shown up yet.

  18. Raeyliff accepted the invite and shook Azide's hand. "Until next time, then, Nouel. Let's keep in touch through messages. Let me know what you're doing and what you've discovered as time goes by, as I will tell you what I find as well." he smiled. After seeing Nouel walk away, he walked away himself, going over to the town square of the second floor to see a suitable place to open his shop. "Here...or back in Floor 1....or up at Floor 3 or 4...no, not Floor 4. Too cold, unsuitable for alchemy work. Potions might freeze over." he said aloud. He looked around at the plants around him and concentrated to find out more about them and their uses. He wasn't interested in getting anything yet though. Until he built up his shop, he would have to go and start off with whatever he had, or whatever the rewards of this quest were.

     QUEST COMPLETED: EARNING A LIVING

    REWARDS: ALCHEMY PROFESSION (RAEYLIFF)

800 COL (400 FOR RAEYLIFF, 400 FOR AZIDE)

  19. Raeyliff looked at Azide and shrugged. "I don't feel any different...wait. Yes, there's a change. I can now look at these plants and herbs and identify them as well as identify their basic uses. I can't mix them with my eyes, but I can put them together and I'm pretty sure some sense of mine will tell me what to crush and what to mix and when and how." he said, grinning. "Other than that, I just feel pretty much the same." he said, looking at Hohenheim.

    "Now what?" Raeyliff asked.

"Go and open your shop. I'll give you some materials to start off but that's all I can do. You have to go on off on your own and start building for yourself a name." he answered, looking at Raeyliff, and then he looked at Azide. "As for you, you do the same, unless you still need to learn how to become an alchemist." he finished. He smiled a little before saying. "It's nice to see young children like you so interested in alchemy. I'm sure you'll come up with amazing things. If you ever need to research, you can come over at any time. It's been a pleasure having you here." he said, looking at the ground. Raeyliff grinned. "It was nice meeting you too, old man. See you later." he said, taking Azide with him outside the shop. After some time, he looked at Azide. "So I guess that's it? We part ways?" he asked.

  20. Raeyliff nodded, hearing Azide, but didn't respond. After a few moments the potion turned a sickly green. Hohenheim took a look at it and backed away. Raeyliff looked back. "What...?" he said, before the potion exploded all over the furnace where they were boiling the water. Raeyliff jumped back, and then looked at Hohenheim.

"You could've warned me, you idiot!" he yelled.

"Well, this wouldn't have happened if you weren't such a fool to begin with!" Hohenheim snapped. "Now, clean this all up!" he ordered, giving Raeyliff a mop. Raeyliff took it and cleaned up, before Hohenheim sighed. "This is how ever beginner learns. By failing. In alchemy you should get used to failing, because if you don't, you'll find yourself always disappointed. You've cleaned up enough. " he said.

    [8019 CD:4]

  21. Raeyliff nodded and gave Azide a thumbs up before walking in with van Hohenheim. He stood next to him in front of a set of laboratory tools made out of glass and wood. He grinned, thinking of how he would soon have one of those. Seeing his grin, Hohenheim whacked Raeyliff on the back of the head, causing Raeyliff to rub his head with an expression on his face that showed pain.

"Owww....what was that for?" he said, angrily, at Hohenheim.

"For not concentrating. Now, take out the materials and put them out here so that I can see them and tell you where to begin." Hohenheim replied.

Raeyliff pulled out the materials and set them on the table. Hohenheim nodded.

"Good materials. Now, take out the petals of the flower and then crush it to release the sap in the stems. Take the boar tooth and crush it with the mortar and pestle and keep its powder with you. Boil that water but keep an eye on it. Yes...yes..like so. Now cut up the mushroom like this to have its full effect and put it all into the water and mix correctly. Yes. Stir..." van Hohenheim said, as Raeyliff worked carefully.

  22. Raeyliff gasped before nodding and laughed. "It is indeed. Let's make our way back to that old man. I can't wait to give him a piece of my mind." he said, grinning. He took the flower from Azide and smiled as they walked out of the forest. "I really couldn't have done this without you, so I just need you to know that you were a really important part of this. If you weren't with me, I would've given up much earlier than before. Now...we're here. Let's enter." he said, before knocking on the door of the shop and entering. The old man looked at them with amazement.

"What's this? You returned, and so soon?" he said.

"What do you mean, so soon?! You got us off on a wild goose chase and we looked all over for a mushroom and a flower and something else, I don't know what it is. Now, teach me how to do this alchemy thing, and tell me your name!" Raeyliff answered, a bit annoyed.

The old man raised his hands in a gesture of surrender and laughed. "Fine. My name is Professor van Hohenheim. I've been an alchemist ever since I was a kid like you are right now. If you believe that finding materials for alchemy is easy, then think again. Because it's never going to be. You might have to travel from town to town, read books, and research before finding where a certain ingredient is or how to make a certain potion. Now, come on in the back so I can teach you how to do alchemy. Mind you, you'll be the one making it. If you mess up, you clean up. Understood?" he said, lowering his hands.

Raeyliff nodded as he walked to the back with Azide and whispered to him. "This is what we've been waiting for. All this searching..." he said.

  23. Raeyliff stood up and sighed. "Ah man, I really hate this. I wish the old man can just give us the materials and teach me how to make the potion and get on with it." he said, looking at Azide and laughing a little. He walked forward after not finding anything where they were at and walked around the area they were in, looking for any signs of the flower. God...you know, if I ever go on hunts like these in the future, I'm taking Nouel with me. If I was alone I would have surely given up a long time ago. I owe it to him that I am still here, searching for some flower. Still, I'm guessing that this will go on for a while. Not to mention that I don't think that ALL potions need 3 ingredients. Some will take 2 or less. So...I won't always find myself in this situation. Oh...how I hate you, old man. Couldn't you just teach me alchemy, give me a book, and get on with it? Why did you have to go all the way and teach me about how hard it is to find plants? I wonder if there's a book that can teach me what each ingredient does...wouldn't that be interesting? he thought, looking around.
