  1. Shanok watched the boss' hp go down into the red and he knew that now if he was to hit the boss at least once, now was the time. He charged towards Cupid, determined not to trip on a rock or miss again, he couldn't miss this hit as it would probably be the hit that would take Cupid down and he knew about what players who got the last hits on boss got, awesome items. He held his katana to the left kept on running towards Cupid, running past Kosan who was paralyzed, "Sorry no one kissed you, this one's mine" he told him as he kept on running towards his goal. He was now in front of Cupid, he looked up to him, "Can you tell that I'm attacking now?" he asked the AI, referring to what Cupid had told him earlier, as his sword ran through Cupid's leg making his HP bar go empty. "All right, guys, we did it!" he shouted pointing his sword upwards.

  2. This is actually how it has always been. I have done my crafts in this fashion assuming it would be correct as it does take more and more work to get better at something. Being able to get partial experience and moving on just doesn't make sense. Think of it like an actual RPG. When you level up, you don't use the same experience anymore, you get a whole empty bar at the bottom or top of your screen and you have to fill it back up in order for your next level up.

Actually, in the old topic that I think doesn't exist anymore, it said " X amount of TOTAL exp for rank Y" Total being there I and most players that I know of, assumed that you kept the experience when ranking up. And if we take your example of games, this could be interpreted as "0/160 to get rank 6" from "320 total exp to get rank 6 (you need 160 to get 5 if I'm correct)". And even Mari up there sort of contradicts herself by writing "Total" experience and "Resetting" as it makes next to no sense to me to have those two words put together up there.

To develop my earlier argument, say you're playing a game, and in said game, you need 1 EXP to level up at all levels, so to get level 10, you'd need 9EXP in TOTAL, but you'll only need 1 EXP from level 9 to 10.

  3. "This seems like a pretty safe spot for camping, it was hard enough to fit through the gap to fit in here, I doubt any other player would suspect that there's a place like this in here. Heck, even we wouldn't have found it had we not seen something shining at the entrance and it turned out to be nothing, such a shame" he told his friend somewhat disappointed. Miaki then threw something at him without notice, telling him to catch it, which he did. "What's in here?" he asked himself while removing the wraping paper around the object, "Oh, food! Thanks, I was getting really hungry here" he added. "Tomorrow, you'll be eating what I brought" he said as he took a bite out of the sub, "Wow, it's really good, did your wife make this?" he asked Miaki while still eating the sub.

  4. The shark made yet another attempt to tackle the player, this time, hitting him again but at the same time Shanok slashed his sword at the shark, making it fall to the ground before disappearing in a flash of light blue crystals. "See? I told you I was stronger, Sharky" he said before reading what was written on the window that had appeared in front of him. "Level up? Sweet!" he exclaimed as he felt the joy of leveling up after such a long time.

  5. The shark quickly resurfaced and hit Shanok where it hurts. That's right, he tackled him right in the balls, leaving Shanok kneeing on the ground in pain before jumping above him. As he was kneeing on the ground because of his reflex of feeling pain, Shanok saw the shark fly right above him and saw an opportunity to attack it and so he did, landing a critical hit on the monster. "See? You're the weak one here Sharky!" he shouted to the monster.

  6. The shark tried its spit attack again but failed as Shanok once again easily dodged it and went for a hit. He managed to stab the shark inside its mouth making it flip violently on its back before diving back under the sand. That was a good hit!" he thought to himself as he watched the shark go under the sand.

  7. The shark made yet another attempt to tackle the obviously superior player and failed miserably. Just as it tried to do that, Shanok also tried to attack the shark but failed yet again, but that is only because the shark failed so horribly that it went out of range, if it weren't for that, Shanok would've hit that overgrown fish.

  8. Shanok attempted to hit the shark again as it soared above him, missing yet again. The shark also missed its attack so no harm was done. "Hey Sharky, you need to get on my level, look at what you've done to me, and what I've done to you. Clearly, I'm better than you, just give up!" he said out loud even though the shark couldn't talk and probably couldn't even understand.

  9. After missing its last attack, it seemed that the shark didn't want to use that attack again seeing how easily Shanok dodged and so it went back to its old jumping and diving. This time it tried to hit Shanok in the back again but Shanok turned around as soon as he heard noises behind him, indicating that the shark had come out of the ground. As he turned around he quickly slashed at the shark hitting it from under and making it miss the tackle that it was about to try to Shanok with.

  10. Shanok watched closely as the shark's fin moved above the sand. This time, the shark didn't try to jump instead it show a bit of its face and spat sand at Shanok, who managed to easily dodge the sand and attemp to stab the shark. The attempt ended up in failure as the shark dove back under the sand leaving only its fin to be seen.

  11. The shark jumped at Shanok again and this time, Shanok saw it and managed to land a good hit on him and so did the shark. They both hit each other at the same time making Shanok trip and the shark just flop to the ground. "Take that!" he shouted as he finally managed to hit the shark.

  12. Shanok waited for the shark to appear again, but he didn't see him coming as it came from behind and tackled him again. Doing once again just a small amount of damage as Shanok's armor was too strong for the shark's attack. Damn it, I just keep either missing or it comes from behind...

  13. Shanok listened to Elyth talk saw her turn red a bit, he decided to not mention it and instead looked to his side, where he could see the scenery from the back of the cart. They were on a mountain road with a few flowers and even fewer trees. There were many mountains in the are and it seemed like all of them were connected together by beautiful stone roads and bridges which seemed natural to the point were they looked like they were part of the mountains, not something build by humans. He then looked to the other side, towards the front of the cart, he couldn't see much from that side because two NPCs were sitting there, but he managed to see a mountain that had some tall trees on the top and that seemed to be a good spot to relax and enjoy the view.

He tapped one of the NPCs on the shoulder, "Excuse me , could you take us there or somewhere close if it would be ok with you?" he asked while pointing at the mountain he had seen earlier. "Sure thing, we're not in a hurry so we can take you all the way to the top if you want" he replied. "Now that I think about it, you can take us down there" he said, pointing to a path leading up to the mountain as he thought that it might be better to walk up there on their own as the view would most likely be amazing. The NPC agreed and let them off at the specified location, he then looked at Shanok, "Here, for you" he said while handing him a bag filled with food, "We had too much anyway, so you can take it" the man said. "Thank you!" he said while getting off the cart, "Well then, shall we go?" he asked Elyth with a smile.

  14. "Beat up the guy who designed this floor? I'm up for that if you need my help" Shanok said jokingly, as they obviously couldn't beat the guy who made the floor, since they were in a game and not in real life. The two man kept walking south till it was night time and then decided to set up camp for the night. Shanok opened up his inventory and set up his tent next to Miaki's. "We don't really need a fire do we? Even at night it seems to be really hot" he told his friend. He then looked at him a with a more serious expression, "Want me to take first watch?" he asked his friend as they both knew that sleeping in the wilds was dangerous, as PKers could come onto them and kill them while they slept.

  15. The shark came out of the sand right in front of Shanok and tried to tackle him again. Shanok easily dodged and tried to hit the shark with his sword but he missed the shark just by a few inches. This really is going to be a long fight after all he thought and sighed at the fact that he was going to be stuck here for a while.

  16. The fin had disappeared, the shark had burrowed deeper under the sand, hiding himself from Shanok. It seemed to have learned that by showing his fin Shanok was able to see where he would come out and therefore, hid itself deeper. It jumped out behind Shanok and tackled him, dealing a bit of damage and diving under the sand right after, leaving Shanok no opportunity to attack the shark. Damn it, it's hiding its fin under the sand now... Shanok thought to himself while trying to come up with a way to know where the shark was going to come from.

  17. The shark quickly went for Shanok again and this time, Shanok had done everything correctly and hit the shark right in the face, "Take that Sharky!" he said as the shark also hit him for a bit of damage before falling and flopping on the sand and then going back under it. Shanok focused on following the shark's fin to predict where it'd come out from to make sure that he wouldn't miss his next attack.

  18. Shanok waited for the shark to surface again, which took a bit of time since the shark just stayed under the sand for a bit, but as soon as it came out, Shanok went for the hit, and he missed again, the shark had dodged the attack and tried to bite him. As the shark went down on him, Shanok rolled to the side, easily dodging the shark's jaws. I have a feeling that this'll be going on forever... he thought.

  19. Shanok was wandering about in the desert of the fifth floor. He had heard about a field boss that was supposed to spawn in the area he was now in. The boss was described as a shark, swimming in sand, yes, swimming. Shanok was confused when he read that sentence, he thought it was weird that they had employed the word swimming there, but then again, he was in a game, in which anything could be possible.

As he was thinking about all that, the Sand Shark appeared behind him, jumping over a sand dune and diving back in the sand, leaving only his fin to be seen above the sand. Shanok quickly turned around to face the fin, he drew his sword and waited for the shark to surface again.

As soon as he saw the shark surface he tried to hit it but miscalculated the distance and missed. The shark flew over him as it tried to hit him with his fins but it failed horrible and went back under the sand.

  20. Shanok stood in front of the building where the meeting for the ninth floor boss fight was held a few months ago, those months felt like years to him though as during that whole time, only one floor was cleared and nothing of importance happened in Aincrad. He pushed open the doors and went inside, from what he had heard, only a few members of the guild would be present at this meeting and from what he saw when entering the building, he believe that it was true as only Miaki, his wife Nikki, Zelrius, Kosan and a player he had never met before were in the room. His guess was that only Keith was missing and that they were now only waiting on him.

"Good morning everyone" he told his guildmates as he entered the building, he then looked at Kiru and walked towards her. "I don't think we've ever met, my name's Shanok and I'm part of the Brigade's council, nice to meet you" he said.

  21. I'm pretty sure that you only get paralyzed if you roll a natural one. Since you rolled a 2, I don't think you'd be paralyzed. You can think about it the other way around, if you had rolled a 1 even with +3 accuracy, you would've still been paralyzed.

  22. Shanok waved back at Miaki, "I hate this floor too, I'd take the fourth floor's temperature over this one's any day" he said. He looked at his friend, he seemed ready and well prepared, "Anyway, I didn't expect you to get here this fast, we might be able to cover more ground than I had anticipated today" he added as they started walking down the city, heading towards the southern exit.

As they were leaving the city, Shanok realized that the farther away to get from it, the stronger the heat got. He could feel his cuirass getting hotter, and he didn't like the feeling. He really couldn't stand heat, he, by far, prefered cold. "Well, we've got two whole days till we get there, might as well find something to do or talk about while we're on our way there, don't you think so?" he asked his friend as he turned around to face him.
