  1. "I love this look. It makes it easier to see those eyes of yours." "Contrary to popular belief, I have two of them." He would playfully point to the two, olive green orbs with two fingers. A hand remained around the small of her back as the two opened up to speak with Oscar, flashing her a crooked brow as she swung her hips to accentuate her belts. How had Oscar put it? An absolute bombshell. And tonight, she was his. He was hers. "Pretty much said everything I could have." Jomei would remark to Oscar with a small laugh, "Everything you had told me you wanted this place to be.
  2. Resting the pumpkin shaped helmet onto the ground at his feet, the ginger vaulted over the balcony's banister to join the others. "You know what they say." he would look over to Jevi who had threatened him violence. "Play spooky games, win spooky prizes." He would look to the group as a whole and clasp his hands together with a clank from his armored gauntlets. "I'm happy to see that no one managed to get lost on the path, I know the Fire Forest can be rather difficult to traverse at night... and can be rather deadly.. if you aren't careful.." he slowly turned and singled out Jevi'
  3. “Mr. Invincible-as-he-is-witty-as-he-is-charming rolls into the arena, without a care in the world… "- Jimantha. What's yours?" The voice was distant, as if spoken from the other end of a thick wall. As her sentence trailed off, it became clearer. Closer. Just enough to snap Jomei back to the present. "Huh?" Olive orbs sprung back to life, trailing down to the young girl that clung to his hand. "Your name!" she seemed a lot more comfortable now that she was back in town, on the way to the orphanage. Jomei would force a smile and a small chuckle before responding, "Oh, he
  4. "Shh, you're okay. No one is going to hurt you." The young girl held onto him, sobbing into his shirt. A gentle hand patted the girl's back, calming her with soft shushes. Jomei had no doubts that this was not some unjust act of violence on Mari's part. Broad daylight, this close to town, with witnesses nearby. Not the ideal setting for a murder in cold blood. And he doubted Mari was up to dealing with the consequences yet again. She was merely adding in the missing details when she recalled her reasoning to resort to violence. He nodded, eyes full of empathy, understanding, and, mo
  5. A curious gaze, obscured behind the mesh of his mask, scanned the room as Jomei turned. Back leaning against the busy bar, he took to people watching as he waited for his drink to be made. All different individuals dressed to the nines, the veils covering their features made it nearly impossible to tell who was who. Many had a sense of familiarity to them, some more than others, yet he could not place names. The orchestral melody slowed to a halt, and their esteemed host took to the stage to cordially greet everyone. He wasted no time with lengthy speeches, a few words of welcome before
  6. Jomei the emerald duelist Like a picture straight from the pages of a fairy tale. With towers that pierced the clouds, a near perfect castle sat on the edge of a cliff, high above the green filled valley below. Guarded by a dragon that dipped from the clouds to scan for intruders, before perching atop the battlements. Its scales were black as night, a high contrast to the pristine white stone of the keep. No one knows which figure of royalty resides within, apparently many who watch the castle claim to have never seen any life with
  7. "You've really gotta stop pissing this thing off!" Jomei shouted forward to Lessa, as the sound of the Guardian's hooves pounding the earth sounded like an incoming freight train. Perhaps it was fed up with the two players and decided to take matters into its own hands - hooves - rather than send a swarm of bugs or vines to take care of them. Maybe Lessa's hurtful words struck a nerve deep within. A creature as majestic as the Guardian had to have been rather vain about its appearance, right? The two of them seemed to spot it at the same time; a single Ushiame flower budding off in the d
  8. "I think if we were all soldiers we would have been out of here a long time ago." Jomei would chuckle softly as he sipped from his coffee once more, "Or at least know how to fight. Cardinal holds our hand for the most part, but real life experience goes a long way." "I think I much rather enjoy being typical people, lets us enjoy stuff like this." a turned cheek gestured towards the rest of the empty club. He was glad that Oscar liked the names, specifically Blackbook. It really did embody both the vibes of the decor and Oscar's personality. "Happy to be of service." Jomei remarked
  9. Jomei the emerald duelist Two masks were presented before him, one black, one white. The Sinful and The Sainted. Many in Aincrad saw viewed Jomei as 'saintly' due to his selflessness, compassion, and good deeds. Always putting himself in the line of danger not for his own self gain, but, to protect those he held dear. To fight for those who could not raise a sword. Would never turn down a friend's request for help and will always uplift those around him. But this was Oscar's den. Jomei was well aware of the type of man his fri
  10. //October 31st \ Floor 28: The Fire Forest Bonfires burning bright. Pumpkin faces in the night. I remember Halloween Brown leafed vertigo. Where skeletal life is known. I remember Halloween *** Leaves as red as flame crunch beneath boots as wanderers follow the scattered trail of illuminated faces. Pumpkins carved with frightening expressions watch from the trees above, sitting along branches and providing some of the only light to guide aspiring trick-or-treaters through the dark forest. The bones of skeletons that hung down from those same tree limbs rattled as the chilling,
  11. Daughter.. Jomei had no idea that Mari was a mother. He had no idea that she had lost her little girl to the horrors of this world. And to have been the one to carry out the deed herself. If Jomei's skin could have grown any paler... He sat in silence and listened to her. Even as she created distance between herself and the ginger, dirt coating the soles of her wet feet as she took a moment to calm herself against a tree. The regret of his curious prying weighing heavy on his heart. A hand ran through his hair, pushing his long bangs onto the top of his head, and holding t
  12. The addition of a second, just as awkward thumbs up of approval didn't exactly make him feel any better about what he had done. Mari may have claimed there was no shame in his deed, but he still held onto a lot of shame from sharing that night with Opal. Thumb and forefinger pinched the bridge of his nose as his head shook side to side, though a humored scoff pushed up from his belly. "Nice to know you won't judge me." He sighed as he dropped his hand back to his lap, "Honestly, I still don't know what that woman saw in me. If it was genuine or if she just saw me as an easy target to fur
  13. Jomei nodded solemnly, "I was there when it happened. Tried to stop her but I wasn't fast enough. I wish she hadn't roped Oikawa into it, he was- is a good man." He could hear the pain behind Mari's tiny voice. Offering a tight lipped smile, he decided not to pry and rip open any lingering wounds. The victim of Oikawa's attack, Zelrius, seemed to have much more history with Mari than Jomei had realized. Though, there were most likely no fond memories from the way Mari spoke about him. Though hearing how he had acted in the past didn't surprise him, but only left a sour taste in his mouth
  14. "Who only see black and white - Olive eyes shifted from Mari's for a moment. There was a time when he felt the same way.. he still felt that tug to an extent. The orange marker that hovered above Mari, and many others, meant they had done.. something. Committed some sort of crime, stole something, hurt someone. Though Jomei knew enough that anyone he experienced with that same crystal had carried out a murder - Mari included. Realization of why his offer sounded so outlandish set in, but he quickly dismissed it. He said it earlier himself, his friends trusted Mari.. so he could as w
  15. The rich aroma of brewing coffee was rejuvenating. Jomei felt himself leaning more into the bar, as if trying to get closer to the source of the smell. He was no coffee snob by any means, his own order was usually pretty simple - sweet, but not enough to outshine its natural flavor. The smell, however, even non-coffee drinkers would agree that there was something intoxicating and calming about it. "Can't blame you, honestly." Jomei admitted as Oscar placed the mug of brew in front of him. He would gently wave a hand over the top of the cup, the steam rising and warming his palm as he tes
  16. Despite their predicament, Jomei could not help but laugh. Only their luck would leave them suspended by their ankles, slowly rocking back and forth like a pair of human pinatas. At least there was no one with a bat trying to knock their treasures loose. Though, if someone else were here, they could probably cut the two loose with no issue. Slim chances of that. "Doubt your armor is doing much to make it any easier." Jomei commented as Lessa tried to crunch at her midsection and cut herself loose. Definitely better than he was doing, at least, his rapier fell out of his hands and w
  17. "Hah!" Jomei barked a laugh at Mari's blunt response to his offer, "Guess it is, isn't it?" His cheery, wide grin faded, but a small smile remained "You're right, I hardly know you at all." his eyes would instinctually look up at the orange crystal that spun above Mari's head for a moment before meeting her gaze "But I trust Baldur. I trust Mac. Hirru. The rest of our guildmates.." He would ponder it for a moment, squinting his eyes, "Most of the frontliners..?" A small shrug of his shoulders and he would continue, "And they trust you. So I don't think I would regret putting that same tru
  18. Bombshell? That was putting it lightly.. "Hm" draining the last of the rum, Jomei would look at the contents that remained in the glass with puckered lips; an ice cube and a twist of citrus. His finger tapped the side of the cup for a moment before he returned it to the bar, placing it closer to Oscar's side of the bar than his own. "I'd say so. At least if you're the one back here making the drinks." he'd chuckle, "Anyone else attempt that, might not be as good. But I think you've got a winner there. A twist on a classic, I can see it selling." Light rum came off the wall next. Jom
  19. A pleased hum and a warm smile, Jomei would join Mari. Pulling his cloak over his head and off of his shoulders, he would drop it on the ground behind him before sitting himself down in the damp grass beside her. He sat with his legs crossed at first, but eventually gave into temptation as he watched the water gently flow around Mari's ankles. Placing his own boots beside him, he'd slide his own feet into the brook. Exhaling softly through his nostrils as the cold water sent a chill all the way up to his shoulders. The suns light hardly managed to break through the tree cover, merely poking th
  20. Jomei the emerald duelist Wings hardly disturbing the fiery canopy as they beat once - twice before perching on a branch above the small brook. Head turned from side to side as if on a swivel, before taking notice of the player lounging beneath. Black, beady eyes looked down at the woman, tilting her head curiously to the side before calling out with a sharp twit. After a moment of taking in the stranger, she took to the skies again swerving in and out of the trees until she was out of sight. A short distance away, a green cloak t
  21. "Came in handy during the Clash." he would admit with a nod. "Went in with my old sword, pop out the other one when they least expected it." Arms rose and crossed at his chest as air puffed from his nostrils. "Honestly, haven't had the opportunity to use it outside of that. Next time I've gotta fill in for damage dealer, I'll remember to give it a few swings." Before business was pleasure, and pleasure, in this case, was a fully stocked bar. And no waiting in line. Sliding into one of the barstools, he'd sit and rest his elbows on the bar top. Eyes would slowly scan the various bot
  22. "What?" Jomei would gasp as their foe took to the skies once again, "He's going to hit us again, so soon?" It seemed the cooldown must have been pretty short, if it existed at all. A number of their comrades already prepared for the worst, getting ready to dodge the life-ending beam attack once again. But to their surprise, Belregor faltered. The gauntlet that rose high, ready to consume raw energy from the void twitched, the power fizzling moments later. Something, or someone managed to cancel out the attack before it could come to fruition. Jomei could have sworn he hard a collec
  23. Jomei the emerald duelist Oscar was a name that he wasn't expecting to see in his inbox. Not that the message was unwelcome, quite the contrary actually. He looked forward to it. Not only did he see Oscar as a stand up guy, but he figured he should probably get to know the man who pushed Lessa to open up to him. While it may not have been 'blind' confidence, trusting a close friend with some ginger he only shared passing words with, Jomei at least wanted to get a feel for where it came from. So after popping off a quick reply, Jome

  25. "Hmm, well." Jomei would look at the contents that remained of the bottle, the amber liquid sloshing around as he gently drew a circle in the air with the glass container, "Only one way to really be sure." Bottoms up and down it went. Could he have checked his stats to see if that strange <Lightweight> condition was still there? Yes. But there was no fun in that. Not much more than a sip left within, the bottle would find its place back on the table. "Honestly, I think I'm starting to prefer the warm stuff over the cold ones" he'd remark, tapping a finger on the side of
