  1. "How many more of these Items do we have so far?" I ask out loud so our escort could hear as well. We could've probably done this low level quest by ourselves but the blonde owed us and as I don't usually keep an open tab I decided to recruit her talents in my favor. Right now we we're stocking up materials for our alchemy lab, I never knew where these items would come from until now. They were always delivered to us so when Claudia said we should gather some, I was a pleasantly surprised.
"We have a total of 21 medicinal herbs and 4 weeds!" came a swift reply from my side as the maid next to me answered before the blonde even looked our way. Seeing Claudia reply, the blonde only lifted up a hand, 5 materials... the 20 more were divided between me and my assistant then.

  2. A knock distracted me from mi conversation as I instinctively looked at the door, nodding to Claudia to open it. "I... didn't invite anyone else..." I mutter with slight annoyance, shifting my gaze towards Claudia and the Darius with a raise eyebrow. The two answered my unspoken question with a nod, yes... we put a 'closed' sign for today to make sure nothing disturbed our preparations. My expression turns to slightly annoyed as I imagine the blonde in question could be the answer.

Ever the cool-headed, Claudia opened the door. She greeted our new guest with a surprised look as she probably had the same train of thought as me and expected a blonde amazon with her lion pet behind the door. However, I think all our expectations were shattered as a man stood there with a somewhat forced smile. Claudia recovered quick and with her profesional presence, took the initiative in greeting him before I could get a better look.

"I'm afraid we're closed for today, sir. If you can leave me a short list with the items you need, I can prepare then for pickup the earlier tomorrow during work hours." I let out a low grunt that could be heard by Ronnel before I turn back to face him, she can handle the rest. "Claudia suggested we should invite you to our little gathering and I saw nothing wrong with it. Making connections is a crucial part of my business. I think it applies the same for fighting mobs, I'd like us to go on other quests from now on. Usually, the more the merrier right?" I say with a small smile. Amazing myself by the sincerity behind it.

  3. I took a deep breath as I heard the knocks on the door. I nod to Claudia to open it while I raise from my chair and approach the entrance. "Welcome to Regalis Quinta Essentia!" said the crimson haired maid which today had festive red accents throughout her normal uniform. On the left side of the frame of her glasses one could notice hanging a small green cartoonish Christmas three as well. She motioned him to step in as I approached him for a handshake: "This is our HQ, not much but its home. Glad to see you could find it easily. I'm quite a fan of this floor and its residents. Elven folk are very welcoming and they see us as some kind of mystic healers since our potions can work on plants and other kind of wildlife." Meanwhile Darius had also joined us, staying by his sister's side in his butler uniform with similar festive accents throughout his attire.
I had to say, the tree pattern all around his vest made for a pleasing contrast with the serious face he always seem to have, even right now as his sister introduced him after I finished my greeting. "I don't believe you've meet my elder brother sir Ronnel, this is Darius! He and I work in service of lord Dracul!"

"A pleasure, sir." was the stark reply the young brunette gave to our guest, making me let out a small sigh. "Don't mind him too much, he's like that but in the lab and around the store he and Claudia are invaluable assets!" I say, pride swelling in my chest as I give Darius a hearty pat on the back. Making him involuntarily straighten up, more than usual.

"Please have a seat." I continue while motioning at the chairs near the fireplace. Once the two of us would sit down, Darius would place some freshly baked mint chocolate cookies on the table near us.

  4. I hate to admit it but I'm not the most social creature, be it in game or in real life... I never did enjoy the social parties my parent threw more often than I would've liked. I always was 'forced' to assist in order to keep the family's good name and reputation. Later I would understand why my brother ran away in search of more freedom, unbound by our heritage. To be completely honest I don't miss those days, I've made myself a somewhat new life here, independent as I never was before. Well, I still had a couple of remnants of that life with me here, currently finishing making arrangements to receive their guest.

As I mentioned, my animosity towards others comes from my sheltered life. But recently I found it.. insufficient, just hearing and going through the information passed on by the blonde sage, made me realize how little I've actually experienced of this world. I started going out more, doing quests and meeting new people. One of these fellow adventurer, we were making preparations to receive today as I personally invited him to our shop for a private 'party'. I nervously adjust the loosen necktie as I watch the clock and then around the entrance. Everything was up to my standards, a small Christmas tree in a discrete corner, various red stockings hanged near the fireplace and other various holiday ornaments. With the help of some elven NPCs on this floor we procured even Yuletide decorations as well, as that is the 'official' celebration on this floor. Claudia and Darius also prepared some dishes that were ready to serve in the kitchen.

"How are the preparations going?" I asked the two who looked like they finished their tasks. I smile as a nod comes in unison from the two, Claudia adding: "Everything is set milord!" I lower myself in one of the chairs and slightly face it towards the entrance, filling my time with my HUD. I review the message I sent @Ronnel with the shop's location and made sure it was accurate.

    Shop description:

    Spoiler

Somewhere on the third floor, near Delilah Village, stood a imposing edifice near all the wildlife, despite the rustic(elvish) atmosphere of the surrounding buildings and fields gave. A modest building with 5 rooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, a attic, and a grand entrance room that was used as a shop. The ground floor, made out of white stone that looked like marble, the main attraction was the front entrance was decorated in roman style with four imposing columns that supported a white pediment. The center of the pediment is decorated by a drawing of two bluish roses, underneath it the Latin words, "Regalis Quinta Essentia" are written in a blue shade.(visual aid)

As you pass through that 'gate' the actual shop entrance reveals itself. Once inside you found yourself immersed in a clean and neatly arranged place that inspires professionalism, 'the actual shop' room. In front in you, more than half a room away, a white marble counter with a mirror polish on top. The item display is somewhere to the right and to the left , near the fireplace you find a waiting table; that could easily old up to 6 people worth of meals with 5 chairs ready in case some nosy blonde decided to come uninvited, like she has a bad habit to do. Somewhere near the fireplace 3 confortable chairs stood facing a purple flame, which we colored so with the help of certain potion.

  5. 11th floor, if you'd ask me I wouldn't have picked this floor to visit out of my own free will but due to various circumstances here I am, unattended by neither of my supports. A slight frown covers my features as I make my way through the crowd of people. Luckily I won't be aimlessly wondering around the place as my destination is the player run fortune telling booth. There both of my assistants are probably being unreasonably exploited by the blonde sage. I shake my head towards my own powerless in stopping her and them from joining in this joint feat. They said they will help because it would help build a reputation for the alchemy shop but from my point of view the blonde just wanted free laborers. "I shouldn't have let them go."

As I get closer to the stalls, the strong and delicious smell of hot cocoa beckons me closer and I found myself ordering one for myself. While savoring it I make my way to the next stall and try some disc throwing. "Not bad!" I mutter as I pick up the lollipop and inspect its stats, it will serve me well another time.

  6. "Oh that's so sweet of you!" she claimed with a smile. Then after stealing a glance to make sure I wasn't hearing them she muttered something into @Solei's ear. I decided to ignore it at the time but later I found out that that she'd whisper : "I know a bit or two on dealing with kids too, I've been in master's service for a long time. I also have a big brother that's more childish than he lets out." with a giggle the then resumes her normal position to his side.

I took note of his earlier comment, mentally wishing him luck in that endeavor, despite seeing the quest abandonment as a major drawback. I also made a mental note to research those beginner quests myself as when they prompted in my HUD I was busy with a experiment in the lab and brushed it away. @Ronnel's question brings me back to the proper chain of thoughts as I reply to him. "I own a somehow successful alchemy shop. Claudia and her brother work there as my assistants. Thanks o the patronage of the blonde sage we meet during the flash event on floor 17, I didn't need to step outside the shop much. We had a mutually beneficial deal: She'd provide me with money, materials and information, in return I would refine them into powerful alchemical concoction and whatnot she needed to keep pushing into the frontlines." a small smile escapes me at the mention of my good fortune. "We also served a few noblemen NPCs and Ariel would use our shop as a hub to sell off her hand made tailor wares."

The mention of her name prompted Claudia to pay a little more attention to our conversation. She was reply to Ronnel's last questions in my stead after I made a subtle hand gesture behind me to let her know my intention. She summoned her HUD and scrolled through their current quest info she'd received from Ariel a while ago. "The queen simply spawn around the high fields, there's no prerequisite to that but we might run into normal bee mobs while and after we look for her.

  7. I listened to our proclaimed 'pacifist healer' future plans and slightly frowned how they shared similarities with my own. I winced at the easy mention of 'a sword fighting game'. "You won't be able to do many quest on your own then. Putting yourself at a disadvantage." I pointed out in a flat tome. "We're fighting here with our lives in steak and you must look for yourself before starting to protect others." I thought @Solei resolution was a bit foolish but decided not to comment further, only to add my philosophy at the end. Everyone has their style and it was not my concern what happened to others. We needed to stay alive and push forward!
As Claudia showed us the location I slightly nod, cursing myself for the lack of knowledge on different floors' geographies. We set on towards our destination and reply to @Ronnel: "Two handed spear eh..." I involuntarily parrot while thinking of a certain annoying blonde with the same weapon type. Banishing away her image from my mind, I continue: "I'm using a two handed long sword in combination with heavy armor. Leave the tanking to me for now..." I sneak a glance at Sol before continuing: "...with plans of adding some support skills to my kit in the future." I declared with a small smirk.

Without me noticing Claudia sneaked next to Soleil and added: "I think its very honorable of you to dedicate yourself to aiding the rest out of free will. Me and my brother are in master Dracul's service so I can relate to the feeling." a small smile escaping her at the end as she adjusted her glasses.

  8. "Perfect!" I replied, looking as if I ignored all his damage related comments. "Me and him!" I say with a smile, then I motioning towards the maid. Taking note of my intention, she slightly bends over and while raising the long skirt of her maid outfit just above ankle level, she revels a small dagger there held by a frilly garter matching the rest of her outfit. I'm simply here to escort lord Dracul but don't be worried about me when the fighting starts. I can take care of myself." she added with a dangerous smile that seem to give a little more weight to her words.

"I agree with the need of a healer, while not a must have here in the lower floors. I have it on good authority that healers are very sought upon on the frontlines. Especially during major boss fights. They literally keep their team alive while the others focus on either tanking or damage dealing, maximizing their efficiency." He imagined the sage's reaction if she were to find out that he was actually listening to her ramblings... sometimes. "Now that we got that out of the way. We should go towards the <High Fields of Crossings>." she added, summoning a HUD map big enough for all 4 of them to see and pointed at the area a little further away from them. "Let's make it official.. again. My name's Dracul, please don't give me any funny nicknames... I already have someone that does that way too much." a sigh escaping him at the end. "And this is my assistant Claudia."

  9. There you go, for some reason I was given these by a obnoxious blonde. I have no use for them.

Description: A simple pair of black handwraps. The model is somehow plain but has one redeeming feature despite its name,
it had a white crowned lion head logo on the back of the right fingerless-like 'glove' hand wrap.

  10. The two of us looked at the newcomer, I too, recognized him from the event and maybe was a little embarrassed as from my memory, I don't think I was the most 'cool-looking' being dragged to all places by that rabid blond lioness. With somehow contradictory feelings I make a slight bow in return while the maid beside me does one as well. "Hey Ron, I take it you're here for this as well?" I ask while signalling at the little piece of paper glued to wooden board next to us.

"It's just a bee right? can't be that hard!" I claimed indifferently, earning a cold stare from the maid accompanying me.I shrug it off and scratch my head again while saying: "How about we get that guy!" I randomly point at a lone guy in a black suit. "Hey, you wanna do this bee quest with us?" I asked nonchalantly, slightly raising my voice and waving so that he knows i'm addressing him.

  11. After the short fun I made of the blonde, I wave at the departing members of my group, most of then children. "Even a self proclaimed vampire's descendant can have a soft spot for kids huh?" she teased earning from me an embarrassed "Shut up!... they've reminded me of those two a bit." I didn't have to explain why as she was perfectly aware of the circumstances and I appreciated her silence afterwards. My eyes drifted to Kimba who had just dodged some of the children that wanted to pet the queen of the jungle one last time. She looked at me, her breath a bit ragged so I knelt and rubbed her underneath the chin. She seemed pleased with the reward so she yawned while going about her business. One does not try to stand in her way.

"Ready for round two?" i finally ask after a short while, when was just the two.. three of us at the cave entrance. I hear a snort as the blonde comes to a standing position: "You bet your arse. I don't think its over yet!" With that exchange we went back to the bowels of Larrisa, seeing what else this event had stored for us.

  12. For the first time in a while, a long while at the I look at the blonde sage with something like respect. Like a veritable field commander, she took charge of the civilian NPCs and started organizing them in an orderly fashion. While she took point, signaling the way for the column with her lion themed flag, I take a more reserved approach and keep a bunch of kids under my watch so that they don't get lost. Some of them weren't accompanied by any type of relatives, a stuck closer to those and a few of them even grabbed onto my armor's cloak with they tiny hands. "Are these really NPCs...?" I wonder, not for the first time as I caress one of them that seemed to glue himself to my side.

"Are you scared?" I ask him as I stroke his had gently. He looks up to me and and doesn't uter a word but simply nods. Of course he would be scared, they're home got destroyed, loved ones taken from them in a split of a second. I ball my free hand into a fist and grit my teeth the whistle towards the front. While Ariel simply simply glanced behind, too busy issuing orders and herding the group of people. However the one I sought attention from came running when I beckoned her. The white lioness nimbly making her way through the crowd. "Don't be afraid, we're under the protection of the queen of the jungle. Her majesty Kimba will keep us save no matter what." he let out a small chuckle as the previously scared kids went and took turns patting the lioness who instantly assumed the role of a guardian deity with pride.

  13. Second floor, seems like the perfect starting point for my ascension. Not the bottom low that is the first floor but also not somewhere where I can endanger myself, or my lovely assistant that accompanies me on a stroll through the main setlement. "Lovely weather we're having here." I mutter casually, glancing up and around us. A sharp "Yes sir." from the bespectacled maid next to me. She was walking one step behind me again, a bad habit of hers that I've given up on trying to correct after all this time. "Tell me more about this quest.." I muttered.

Her reply however came via an outstretched hand that was pointing at a nearby bulletin board. "In summary, a queen bee needs to be exterminated. How can you not know about this quest sir, its like noob 101 in the floor guide!" she said, the last part in a higher than intended tone. I simply shrugged and went to read the details myself as I replied: "You know very well that I've been isolating myself in the lab all these time. I barely had any contact with the outside except our patron sage." i grinned as I turned to look her in her crimson eyes, unsuccessfully hidden behind her glasses. "You should know, you've been there with us!" The crimson haired maid was prepared to counter my statement but refrained as a certain player entered our field of view.

  14. <the bit of closing the portal goes here>

I was a bit disappointed that I had to part ways with the pinkette since she proved to be a much, MUCH more pleasant company than a certain blonde that, as we speak, is dragging me around like luggage. "You don't run out of energy do you?" I ask with a raised eyebrow as I dismiss the HUD, finally free myself from her grasp and try to straighten my clothes. Coincidentally we just bumped into Claudia and Darius, my two assistants that stayed behind and helped with the evacuation while we went to fight the skeletons.... and close the portals.

I continued my statement, a little differently than I intended to reply initially: "...we're not going to leave until we evacuate the civilians around here. Like the guard instructed. " Once again, I felt as one of my nerves would burst open as I see the blond stifle a laugh. "As expected from Lord Dracul..." said Darius with a short nod, Claudia mirroring his action. "We were making sure these people are ready to be escorted through the caves." added the crimson haired maid as she adjusted her glasses and gestured at over two dozen NPCs near them.

  15. Listening to Arabelle, with a slight frown, I took a second to consider her words. I haven't really thought about builds that much as a certain maid kept nagging me about it as well. So I kind of instinctively avoided that subject: "Until now I've been focused more on my profession. I am an alchemist you see, chemistry has always been a hidden passion of mine. While those two aren't the same thing, it felt the right thing to do you know?" I pondered some more then replied. "I don't know for sure but I will probably be a tank. Keeping myself alive here is top priority and I need to be able to keep my assistants away from harm." he added. "But when I'll finally decide, can I count on your help miss for some advice? You're obviously more knowledgeable than me. On that theme." The last statement earned me a "HEY! WHAT ABOUT ME?" from the lion sage next to me.
At this point, as long as these portals closed I was willing to put up with all of the magical girl wannabe's shenanigans. Seeing the portal close, I quickly review the event's details. With a short nod I dismiss the HUD and start looking for another portal while saying: "One more to go and we've done our part. There seems to be a limit to how many of those we can close." he ended his statement by pointing at another portal not so far from them. Let's finish this of quickly and then let's focus on evacuating. Nobody deserves to be in a war zone they didn't ask for...

  16. If this were a anime, people could see a red vein pulsating to the right side of my eyes, clearly being annoyed by Ariel's comments. I give her only the most basic response as the topic of discussion changed to magic... "When I first joined I thought it was that kind of game, then we know what happened.." I added with a dejected smile. "Rather than focused on physical skills I would've much like to learn magic and become a spell caster. " I was getting carried away with the conversation but it was fun on its own. A welcomed break from the constant thought of impending death that hovered over every player.

Seeing her smile, made my early displeasure almost entirely vanish and my features have soften a bit as well. I didn't even mind the fact that the portal hasn't closed yet, if nothing else we've got more time to hold hands like this.

  17. And as expected, it didn't take long before two more players joined our group. The first one was a beautiful girl with pink hair dressed in a dark outfit, a stark contrast to my own blue motif attire. She seemed fine with holding hands, even if it was for the sake of the quest, so he gladly obliged. Another person joined and as our hand holding circle closed, we were left in a somehow awkward silence. I was about to clear my throat to say something when I heard the girl behind me crack a joke. I let out a soft short laugh of relief as I can't really remember when it was the last time I went to church. If she were to be some king of fanatic, our future interactions would've proved... troublesome.

The blonde next to me started spewing nonsense as nothing seemed to happen. "I don't even want to fathom that it worked because of that childish wordplay." I mutter in disbelief as I point towards another portal nearby. "Let's close that one next."

  18. I knew this was not the time to sit there idle so I made a highly conscious effort to get up and then without asking, I grabbed my 'blood brother's hand and tried to raise her on her feet. "This is not the time to leisure around. The event isn't over!" Luckily I didn't have to force her, whatever bloodlust she had it didn't cloud her mind enough to forfeit reason. She raised herself than looked in the distance as we returned towards Larissa's walls. Our lot defeated the skeletons but portals were still opened. "We gotta do that now?" muttered the blonde next to me, the summoned the event quest info and frowned. She flipped the screen so I could read as well. I did so out loud: " 'For this action, four players must locate the portal, then surround it, hands joined. If their will is strong enough, it will close'..... WHAT? willpower? power of friendship...? oh no..." I was at loss of words and adding to my despair, the blonde sage next to me started shouting: "Who wants to help us close some of the portals, we need two more players!!!"

  19. I though I heard a the lioness saying something and now, with the army of mobs finally dwindling I could actually turn her way and pay closer attention to her. I'd half expected to see bodies littered around as she stood on top of them triumphantly covered in their blood from head to toe. But this was a video game, bodies we're immediately disposed off by the Cardinal system however, the Cardinal couldn't dispose of Ariel's current expression. A cold shiver ran through my spine as I watched her focused on only one objective, eliminating the enemies around us. I shared her objective and while blood wasn't a reality here, her bloodlust has. I can see why she decided to isolate herself after the 24th boss fight. I forcefully exhaled as a arrow grazes my neck, reminding me that the fight is not over... not yet. "How're you holding up there sage?" I asked with a grin, trying to snap her out of it.

I ask in frustration as I barely manage to dodge an arrow aimed right between my eyes. At first I was being swept by the crowd feeling and all the inspirational talk. Now having taken actual damage and seeing my HP drop at a rapid rate... I'm starting to question the sanity of staying here,  luckily I have a healthy supply of healing crystals to keep myself topped. The moment that stock runs low I'm out of here, that's a promise! I let out a sigh as I partially listen to the blonde sage's ramble about fun, brotherhood and fun. Again my thoughts go, when I can spare one, to my servants and how lucky I am to have their company instead of this lunatic's everyday.

I should be alright, worst case scenario, I can just teleport away. I don't have time to check right now but I think I have a crystal in my inventory. I watched as she tried to inspire some players in the battlefield, in particular a Japanese style warrior. "I take it you know each other?" I ask between slashes and parries, my back against hers. I couldn't afford to take my eyes off the enemy in front of me, to see her expression as she replied. "Something like that, you can say he's a old friend." she honestly replied with her battle-crazed smile. I risk a glance towards the city walls ' Darius, Claudia... what have I gotten myself into?' I ask myself, knowing that they had no way to hear me.

  22. "Honestly I don't know what she'd do without us!" I claimed presumptuously as I watched the proud lioness scurry away towards the indicated spot. "Aren't you a little too mean to her?" came a question from my side. While continuing to pet the white familiar, Claudia would tilt her head towards me... disapproval written all over her expression. I advert my gaze towards Kimba as I reply, a slight red mark of shame tinting my cheeks. "She did it twice.... calling me by that name. I think this is an appropriate payback." I mutter only to find myself stopping at the sound of her resigned sigh. "What?" I asked, slightly annoyed. "Nothing..." she replies indifferently. Then after picking the lioness in her arms and cradling her as a baby she continues, this time looking around them then at her brother.

"You should go and try to find some more quest items. The fact that it escaped lady Ariel's sharp eye means that it's not that of a common item. You we're always good at treasure hunting Darius, better than me anyway. There are a lot of wounded here, me and master will try to ease their pain as much we can until you two come with supplies." she then looked at Ariel, who motioned Darius to join her as they went to look around

After the two groups put some distance between them we start tending to the wounded. "Interesting choice in pairing..." I say with a sly smile, hinting about my assistant's hidden affection towards the blonde sage. His sister, far from oblivious about it, decided to simply shrug the comment off with a knowing smile. I let out a sigh of relief as I see her mood improve from earlier. "Let me handle that!" I say to a nearby NPC, that distributed beverages around. I pick up a water? mug without waiting for their approval, then I help my current patient drink it.

  23. *BING* I let out a low grunt as I swipe open the message that followed the dull Inbox Alert. I start reading it out loud so my two assistance beside me don't ask stuff and make me repeat myself-  "Hey Drake-....she knows i hate it when she calls me that..." A sigh unwillingly escapes me before I continue "you need to come here fast. Actually I need Darius and Claudia but I know you won't let them in an event area alone-... what a unpleasant woman... -so feel free to tag along. Long story short, the city has been under attack and they need us to deal with the aftermath. Most stuff have been taken care off but there are a lot of wounded, that's where your assistants' (and your) alchemy skills come into play. I'm already here, cya!-

I could already hear the chuckles behind me but decided against humoring them, with basic grasp on the situation I was more focused on figuring out how our skills would come to play. "I guess we'll just have to find her then..." I mutter, seeing the crimson maid and brunette butler siblings nodding in unison by side nodid.
"Mylord, there's something like a apothecary over there." the bespectacled maid interjects, inadvertently making me turn to the side where's she's pointing. "Nicely spotted!" I shout, going inside and after a brief examination of the interior, I grab a event potion and toss it to her. "I think we'll be needing that.

It didn't take long to find the whereabouts of the lion sage herself, thanks to the friend tracker. "Buna blondo.." I greet her with a wave, returning the favor from her message.

  24. I send my assistant to deal with the blonde nuisance, it seems she had taken a liking to maid so of course I was going to use that to my advantage. "Let's resume!" I tell my other assistant that simply nods before we both continue our respective jobs. I didn't mention before it but tending to the blonde  had took a way a lot of my stock so we were in dire need of restocking.

    ...
It has been too long since I have recorded my experiments. I should try to resume the documentation of my researches here as I did before. The situation is in my favor as recently I haven't been theorizing and experimenting as much, instead i took a more... hand on approach and went outside to level up. Where as before, I barely left this place.
