  1. Vayrin gave a careful look to her companion at his question. "Huh? Oh, yeah... The rabbit is supposed to drop a rare hide. Came to find it before anyone else does." Vayrin answered with a small grin, her mind fantasizing about what she could do with such a rare material. These thoughts only bolstered her desire to catch this creature, assuming the rumor she heard wasn't complete BS.

"Also, it's a nice change of pace from my usual hunting grounds..." Vayrin admitted. She seemed embarrassed to do so however, as her face got a little flustered. It didn't take a detective to know she wasn't very strong. Especially with no migitation whatsoever, she needed to be careful when venturing outside her safer floors.

  2. Well, being an old-ish player with some inactivity stages (Again, sorry to those who got effected by them) I can say that I'm all for a more story driven forum rather then a competition to see who can become the strongest. I mean, the soul purpose of a RP forum is for story telling. If we wanted a fast paced, competitive style, then we'd just play our regular MMORPG's. And trust me, I know how it feels to feel somewhat insignificant because of my low level status, especially with the amount of time I've been here for. There comes a point when SAO-RPG may feel somewhat boring to those who are too low leveled to really make any impact with the famous Frontliner squad (Even though half of them are dead now)

My point being: We should still make systems that make the RP entertaining regardless of a player's level or skill. Otherwise things may get tedious. That's why I'm fully pro on the story driven idea with community events to flesh out our characters. That's my opinion anyways.

Take it or leave it, I'm still considered new here xD

  3. "I uh... Sure, I'll lend a hand." Vayrin told the girl, unsure weather this was the right choice. How bad could it be though? Her mind quickly went back to the time she and Calrex took this quest. Luckily the duo hadn't run into any trouble on their journey, but that wasn't to say there wasn't any.

"Er... So what's your name?" Vayrin inquired, taking the usual routine for new encounters.

  4. Vayrin smirked and held her sword ready as her plan seemed to had worked splendidly. Macradon seemed to have had caught as well, as he currently had his blade out. Soon the two large bats showed themselves as predicted, and Vayrin shot a glance over to Mac. He'd have no problem dealing a single blow to kill these things if he wanted. But she wasn't going to let him have all the fun.

"Right then!" She yelled with confidence as her blade began to glow.

Vayrin waited until her blade illuminated the cavern around them, and within an instant she flashed forward. SHe spun her body around, her weapon tracing a large purple arc through the air. As soon as she was facing the direction of the bats again, her blade released a giant square shaped arc of purple energy, directly hitting both of the large creatures, sending them flying backwards several feet.

  5. "Whoa! He-" Vayrin started suddenly as the player suddenly grabbed onto her and began hugging the violet haired swordsman. She didn't know exactly what she meant by "thread" but she assumed she meant a quest or something. "Uhh... Hey. I'm Vayrin... You needed help?" She said awkwardly still being stuck in a position with her arms half raised as the girl clamped her waist. It was only natural for her to ask at this point. Most of the people wandering by stopped to stare at the two. She simply gave a nervous smile trying to imply it wasn't weird, when she knew her attempts were probably futile...

  6. Annnnddd... Here she was again. The young violet haired girl sat motionless on one of the sandstone towers, letting her legs dangle off the lethal height. She had her menu open, and her violet hued eyes scanned it with much desire to find something that wasn't there. With an annoyed sigh, Vayrin quickly closed the menu and lied back on the tower roof, exposing her body to the artificial sun's unforgiving punishment. She continued to lie there, hoping for something of interest to happen. And then it did.

At the sound of distress not far below her, Vayrin quickly perked her head up to analyze the situation. She tilted her head to see a rather unfamiliar player who had appeared to have fallen over. She couldn't help but crack a grin to this sight, and decided to investigate. Really any interaction with anyone would cure her from this boredom.

"You alright there?" Vayrin said in an amused tone as she leaned down and held out her hand to the girl.

  7. "Yeah..." She whispered quietly. The sobbing meant they were close, but it was still unclear as to what direction it was coming from. That and they still handn't run into any giant flying bats. Something the quest specefied would happen. However, the sound of the girl meant they were getting closer, and she needed  to be weary. A that thought, she slowly unsheathed her blade, hoping the sound she made would actually lure the mobs from their hiding places and show them the direction the duo needed to head.

  8. "Huh? Oh, yeah I'm sure it'll drop some meat too." Vayrin replied to Grave's last comment, unsure weather she was right or not. Anyhing she could do to reassure him would help though. She quickly stretched her sword arm, still sore from the last battle. She was just glad she wasn't insta killed. Proves the monsters on this floor weren't as dangerous as she had origianlly anticipated. Either way, she still wouldn't have been able to pull through without Grave's help. Then again, HE was the one who started the battle. She was just unlucky enough to think she could finish it on her own.

As they continued to tread through the forest, Vayrin never had her hand far away from her blade. At the slightest sound she'd be fully prepared to whip it out and slash at anything. She hoped her new companion knew to do the same. Although, she couldn't help but feel somewhat on edge with this near stanger, so she decided to start a conversation. Just to ease her tension, and probably any he had by their awkward encounter.

"Sooo... What brings you to floor eight then?" She asked, trying not to sound too obvious as to what she was doing, but her lack of eye contact gave a few factors away.

  9. As the Skeleton quickly got back up to it's feet, it grabbed its weapon and with sudden raged sprinted after her. The girl smirked and did the same. She had slashed it back several feet before, providing this distance between the two. Vayrin charged up her sword art as she sprinted. Just within a few centimeters, the skeleton swung it's sword around, attempting to hit the girl in the neck. Luckily, Vayrin saw this in time to roll underneath it's arm to it's back side. She spent no time hesitating before leaping upwards as soon as she regained her footing, bringing her weapon down on the monster. It tore right through the skeletons shoulder and down its chest. The armor doing nothing against the girl's glowing weapon. Soon it lied on the ground in two pieces before shattering into a million tiny fragments. Vayrin heard foot steps, and brought her weapon around as fast as she could only to see Jomei there. She hesitated in striking, seeing as it was her companion who apparently took the blow coming from the skeletons she wasn't paying attention too. "Oh.. Uh thanks." Vayrin whispered nervously as she panted, still holding her blade up as to strike at Jomei thinking he was an an enemy before.

  10. "Well then, I guess that's a good a place to start." Vayrin said unsure of herself. But then again it shouldn't be that difficult to locate the girl. The Bats would tell them when they were getting closer, not to mention the sound of tears. Vayrin stayed silent for a moment, clearing her mind to try and get a fell of the surroundings. She could only hear faint drops from what she assumed was water hitting the floor of the cave in the distance. That was it. She turned back to Macradon. "I'll just assume this is the right path." She said placing her trust in his last actions. Of course she was still unsure, seeing as he apparently had gotten lost last time he did the quest.

  11. "Oh, I uhh. I'm a tailor. I have a shop down on the second floor." Vayrin said smiling a little nervously while producing some subtle advertisement. Vayrin stood silent for a moment after the man offered to tag along. She observed him more closely, judging weather he was trustworthy or not. He seemed nice enough, and his marker was green so that helped. After all, he was right. It was safer to hunt in groups after all, since the fourth floor was bordering on dangerous for a player like Vayrin.

"Well, if you want." Vayrin said. "I'm heading to the ice caves to take on some wolves, maybe hit a few golems." Vayrin said smirking slightly as her memory wandered back to her adventure that took place during the Essence of Steel quest.

  12. Vayrin continued to show the player the different aspects of the menu, hoping she'd remember what the different characters meant. After the girl mentioned that she'd prefer to only have her single arm, Vayrin simply shrugged. "Well, if that's the kind of build you're looking for." She told her. Vayrin herself understood why the girl would rather have it this way. After all, being lighter was a very useful skill to have. Assuming that was what this girl was going for. Vayrin herself was going for a light armor build, being able to move extremely fast and being able to dodge most attacks. Of course this meant she had less protection, but made up for it in agility. Vayrin then stopped explaining for a moment as a very awkward thought popped into her head. She laughed nervously. "Oh, sorry. My name's Vayrin by the way." She told her. It was weird how she hadn't thought of mentioning that first.

  13. Well, today was just as normal as ever. The girl had been grinding for almost the whole duration of it. Fighting off scores of low level mobs in the fields may have seemed dangerous, but the amount of loot from all those beasts added up into something nice. Of course, as much fun as hacking and slashing was, it did eventually get dull, and for the sake of her own entertainment and relaxation, the girl decided it was enough for that day. Vayrin had been walking down the street as she entered the safe zone, her trusty blade still on her back. The girl had her regular expression, which in turn either made her look pissed off or just really annoyed. Of course, she was still oblivious to this. And she always wondered why people didn't seem to want to interact with her, avoiding eye contact whenever they could. In truth it was just her regular face. The girl had been feeling rather calm despite what her mask seemed to show, and somewhat happy as she encountered a place she'd never seen before.

Vayrin smiled slightly as she looked through the window of what seemed to be a desert shop. She stood outside the glass looking over the creatively decorated cupcakes hen it suddenly shattered and respawned. The girl stepped back for a moment, surprised by the sudden shock, and turned her attention to what seemed to be another player who had just hit the window too hard. Vayrin simply rolled her eyes and walked past him into the store. She quickly scanned the contents of the small shop when her sights fell upon somewhat familiar. A white haired girl. Vayrin thought for a moment, and shot a quick look to her weapon on her back. "Of course..." She whispered to herself as her violet eyes shot back to the girl who she concluded must've been the one who helped her oh so long ago.

"Manta? Long time no see!" Vayrin said with a slightly bigger smile now, her hand extended into a half salute towards the girl. Of course, Vayrin had stuttered slightly, hoping she didn't get the girl's name wrong. It had been a long time...

  14. Vayrin didn't hesitate for a moment after the two of them reached the cave entrance. She strolled in behind Macradon, and the area had gotten significantly darker. Vayrin squinted to try and see better, just before Mac came to the drop. The light coming from the entrance managed to illuminate the area slightly, so she noticed it as well. As Macradon had started climbing down, the girl simply stepped off the edge, rolling on the ground with her hand on her hilt. She slowly stood back up and turned. "Any idea where to start?" The girl asked. Not knowing weather this quest was random each time going through, or weather it had been in a specific place.

  15. Vayrin tilted her head again when the girl began to explain her reason for not being able to understand the menu. "Oh.." So, rough life she must've had. Vayrin knew it wasn't her place to probe about her history, but she seemed to have one.  "Well, I'm sorry to hear that. I can show you what they mean if you'd like." She said softly. Vayrin thought for a moment. She then turned around and opened her own menu by swiping her hand in the air in front of her. "Now that I think about it... You could see a blacksmith. Not sure how well they would be able to do it, but they could maybe forge some sort steel claw contraption. You could attach it to your.. Erm.. Other arm." Vayrin told her. She continued to swipe through her menu until she brought up the inventory screen. "See, this is the screen you need to pull up in order to equip items. See these letters at the top of the screen. It means "Inventory"

  16. The girl listened as the man elaborated on his love for the snow. Apparently, he saw something "magical" about it like many do. Although, Vayrin couldn't say she had the same feeling. In her home, she saw it almost everyday. The effect had worn off her for a long time. She no longer cared about it.

Vayrin raised an eyebrow when the man refocused his attention back on her, and questioned her reasoning for being there. "I'm just hunting. I have a shop to keep up and running." She said with a slight smile. As a tailor, it was important she kept getting the right materials. And the wolves on this floor provided just that. She remembered when her and an unknown player had been surrounded during the middle of a snowstorm, and were forced to fight their way out. That's when she discovered how good the Frost Wolf's fur was for her job. She shook the memory though and looked back up at the man.

    "And you?"

  17. "Alright then, follow the flapping sounds." Vayrin said as they continued to walk. It seemed simple enough, and as she predicted, there were indeed monsters that were going to try and stop them. She simply readjusted her sheath on her back as the girl prepared to whip out her sword at any given moment. Of course, running into hostile mobs on their journey to the cave was also common. Didn't hurt to be prepared. One thing Vayrin didn't know though was how big exactly this cave was. If Macradon had gotten lost in it before, then maybe it'll be significantly bigger then most caverns Vayrin had ventured to. That would just make finding this girl, or bats that much harder.

  18. "Heh, don't worry about the NPC's. Their just programs after all, I'm sure the booth will just re-spawn in a few hours." She said chuckling. Vayrin continued to listen to the girl's plight as she continued to elaborate on her obvious disadvantage. But not the one Vayrin and (Probably everyone else) had been expecting. "Wait, you can't read the menu? Is it because you can't even open it or... You don't read Japanese?" Vayrin asked curiously. She didn't even account for the fact that not having an arm may hinder the action of opening a menu. After all, you needed one of your arms to do it. Although, judging by this girl's speech, Vayrin could clearly tell she wasn't Japanese. Not uncommon, Vayrin wasn't either. But if she started SAO without knowing there'd only be a Japanese server then she could see why this girl had trouble navigating some of the basics of SAO.

  19. As Vayrin continued to walk through the snow, her eyes seemed hazy as she stared blankly in front of her, not even noticing another player before they spoke. She stopped for a moment and turned in their direction. "Hm?" She simply replied. Her eyes scanned the new encounter for a minute, assessing the player. He seemed to be significantly older then herself, but he seemed friendly based on his entrance.

"Oh, Uhh, Hi." Vayrin said flatly, not exactly knowing how to continue after the unusual greeting from the player who apparently had to make sure the girl didn't think him crazy for enjoying the snow.

"Not liking snow? Heh, no it's not that." She said with a slight smile looking at the white substance around her feet. "Just I've seen too much of it." She replied truthfully. She only now realized he assessed this based on her previous expression. One that usually made the girl looked either pissed off, or just really annoyed. In truth that was just her face, and most of the time she didn't even notice it.

  20. Vayrin tilted her head slightly as Macradon mentioned the brokers. "Well, actually I didn't hear about it from them. I just happened to encounter the NPC who begged me to save her friend. I only assumed ther'd be monsters in the cave. Sadly though I lack the skill of nightvision, but I'm sure my sword arts can light the cave up enough for me to hit a target." Vayrin replied. Now that she thought about it, that may be a good choice of another skill to acquire, although there were many she had to decide upon. The only extra skill she had was the Survival one she got with Calrex's help on the fifth floor, so maybe it'd be a good time to look for others.

  21. Vayrin relaxed a bit when the awkwardness seemed to be defused by the girl's reaction. Her face returned to its normal color as she looked up at the girl when she stood up. It was good she didn't think it was a disability, but of course, it was a disadvantage in a game like SAO. Or it would be now, since they were all reverted to their real forms, not their avatars. Vayrin assumed she had another arm during the start of the game, before the famous speech that changed their lives forever.

"Heh, I bet." Vayrin chuckled after the girl's comment about seeing others react to her situation. Vayrin looked over her a shoulder for a second to observe the damage she had caused to the NPC's booth after the girl praised her for the way she chose to deal with the situation. She looked back and gave a small annoyed expression. "Yeah, I have zero tolerance for that kind of crap." She said. "Anyways, I'm Vayrin by the way. You'll soon realize that no matter how helpless you may seem to others due to size, strength, or even missing limbs." She said with a slight smirk. "You can still own anyone if your level is significantly higher."

  22. Well, one thing Vayrin had concluded was that the extra skill she had picked up was indeed helpful, especially on a floor such as the fourth. The girl walked outside of the tavern, squeezing past a few players trying to make their way inside. She quickly pulled up her hood, and pulled over her scarf. The girl got her weapon ready on her back as she set out for the entry way dividing Snowfrost from the rest of the floor. It was rare that Vayrin came here these days. It could've been the cold, as any sane person would be equally annoyed with it. Although, events had taken place on this floor that Vayrin couldn't forget, and the memory only grew stronger with each visit. Although, it still provided a good hunting ground for a player such as her, so she set aside her past experiences for the sake of progressing. After all, people were waiting for her.

  23. Vayrin quickly realized that this player didn't mean her any harm when she recognized them. Her face lit up, and she slightly smiled. "Calrex? Heh, what are you doing all the way down here?" She questioned. As the man got closer, Vayrin relaxed her tense body, lowering her grip from the blade on her back. This was a pleasant surprise, as she most certainly didn't expect to encounter a familiar face in this thick jungle. She gave him a nod when he questioned her status. "Yeah, I'm fine. Damn monster was this close to grabbing me." She said, making a small gesture with her hand. "Don't know if it looked like it, but that was on purpose." She said slightly laughing at herself as she re ran the scene through her head.

"What are you doing on this floor?" She asked curiously. Of course, there was probably a better setting for this, seeing as they were both soaking wet in the middle of a large, and frankly, dangerous jungle. She parted her hair slightly so her violet eyes could see better.

  24. Vayrin simply chuckled to herself as Macradon explained he may not be the best choice for this quest due to his last escapade on it. "Well, hopefully we won't get lost." She stated before opening her menu. She reviewed the quest info before looking back up at her companion. "Well, seems like we need to find a girl. Hoping the monsters will be smart enough to let us, but I'm sure they won't." She stated flatly before turning. "Best not keep her waiting too long." She said with a grin before walking off in the direction of the town's entrance to the large mountain range beyond.

Vayrin watched the other two strike the rock, satisfied that the rock seemed to be reacting the way she hoped. Vayrin ran towards the boulder, her fist jabbing into it with almost as much force as before. Luckily, it was affected. She gave a quick sigh. "Well. This is getting tedious..." The girl simply mumbled to herself slightly loud enough for the others to hear.
