  1. "HAAH!" With a furious yell, Vayrin's blade sang through the air, leaving behind a long streak of purple light, before it faded. She backed up, and gave the air in front of her a few more thrusts. She had been honing her skills, by experimenting with different sword art combos. She figured floor three was a good spot to do it, seeing as most of it was flat open space, and she could handle most of the mobs on this floor in case she was jumped by one. Vayrin quickly threw up her weapon, and  quickly kicked off her feet and performed a backwards cartwheel, catching it again as soon as she got back into her stance only to release a large arc of sword art energy. The impact had blown back the grass around her, and cut some of it as well. Breathing heavily, Vayrin slowly stood back up, and observed her blade. Her face seemed to have an annoyed expression on it. "Needs more damage..." She whispered to herself as she looked at it more closely. It was true, Vayrin had slowly been getting stronger, so she needed to fight stronger mobs. Even though she had been using this blade from day 1, it started to lack the requirements of her level. As she observed the flashing silver of the blade, her mind went back to the day she first stepped out of the safe zone. When a kind player named Manta had given Vayrin her weapon. She sighed as the memory seeped through her head, and slowly sheathed the weapon on her back. Taking a moment to stand in the field and feel the breeze.

  2. Vayrin got her blade ready once again, when suddenly a flash of blew struck the Golem as it got back onto it's feet. She stood there, surprised for a moment to see another figure. The one who had struck her foe. Although his move wasn't strong enough to kill the monster, it manage to deplete it's health significantly, as well as stun it. Vayrin wasted no time when she spotted the opportunity. She sprinted towards the stilled monster, and ran up off another slanted outcrop of rock to gain more momentum, and to level her blade with the monster's weak spot. As he leaped off the edge of the outcrop, her blade began to glow a shining violet, and it struck right through the head of the monster. To say that her weapon went through the Golem like a hot knife through butter would be an understatement. Her sword completely ripped the rock apart, until the Golem had a long scar cross it's entire body. Vayrin stood for a moment, still holding her sword out in front from the move she just performed. A moment later, the Golem blasted into blue shards behind her. Still out of breath, she slowly stood straight up, and put her blade away in it's sheath. Before she turned her head halfway back to confront the other player. Her face had a slight annoyed expression on it.

  3. As Vayrin prepared for the Golem's next move, she heard another battle take place near her. She moved her head halfway over to see more Golem's, but they had all been killed. She raised an eyebrow for a moment because she was confused what had happened, but she had been looking away for too long. She quickly heard the sound of the Golem's arm rushing towards her. Not having enough time to dodge, She attempted to block it with her blade. Vayrin quickly held it up. The creature's arm struck hard down on her weapon, and managed to push it away. It quickly whipped it's other arm against her side. Vayrin rolled on in the dirt as her HP gauge depleted. A large glowing scar on her side. Cursing under her breath, she quickly got back on her feet. She still had fight left in her. With the fury in her eyes, she charged up her sword art, she sprinted back towards the beast. Charging up a special sword art, Vayrin spun around before releasing two power slashes across the Stone Golem's body. The creature now flew back against the wall of the mountain. Vayrin stood there breathing heavily, holding her blade up seeing as the monster still wasn't dead. Although, in the corner of her eye she saw another person.

  4. As soon as she got ready to fight again, the Golem began charging at her. Knowing she wouldn't be able to slow it down she quickly dove out of it's way behind the cover of an outcrop of rock. The Golem swung both of it's arms around, destroying half of the outcrop, but luckily Vayrin had ducked and missed the blow. As the rock splinters flew through the air, and the dust covered both of them, Vayrin leaped over the broken stone, her sword glowing. She could see the dark shadow of the Golem through the dust, and she charged at it. The Golem however must have seen her glowing blade, and spun out of it's path. Vayrin swung her sword inches away from the beast's leg. Using the rest of her momentum, she turned her failed attack into a roll. She quickly spun back around and readied herself for the next move.

  5. Vayrin stood silent as the Golem exploded into an aray of blue shards. She had been confused seeing as she had done nothing to it. She stood there breathing heavily when she saw the figure of a boy after the shards had faded away. Slightly annoyed, Vayrin slowly sheathed her blade on her back. She raised an eye brow as the boy inquired that they had met before. She observed him for a moment, and he had seemed familiar. That's right. He was a customer at her shop. "Yeah... I think we have. You came to my shop." She replied. She slowly rolled her shoulder of her sword arm back. "Just mat hunting." She said again as she turned and continued to walk down the mountain path.

  6. Vayrin smiled as Calrex accepted her thanks. "Yeah, that's the plan anyways. I have a promise to keep..." Vayrin looked down for a moment, as she said that. her expression changing to serious as she thought about her encounter with another high level on the 3rd floor. She quickly shook the thought though and returned to the present when Calrex told her that he'd help her again if she needed it. "Really? Thanks, I'll be sure to message you if I need it." She said happily to his statement.

As Calrex turned and waved at her, she gave a small wave back. She smiled as she went back into her menu. "And one step closer.." She spoke to herself as she turned back, and started walking towards the quest NPC...

  7. "HAAH!" With a loud yell, the purple haired girl sprinted towards her target. Her weapon had been glowing as it charged up for a sword art. The golem, got into it's defensive stance as it witnessed her running towards it. Vayrin quickly rolled  underneath the monster's legs, slashing one of it's legs as she did. The creature kneeled on it's stone joint for a moment as Vayrin spun back around, preparing another sword art. The creature suddenly spun it's long arm around, straight at her. Something she wasn't expecting would be so fast. The arm slashed her right across her stomach, and she flew back a couple feet. Vayrin managed to land on her feet, and proceeded to skid back a couple more. She held her stomach as the long digital scar began to dissipate. She looked back up at the creature and glared, holding up her sword as she stood back up and regained her footing.

  8. "Well then, lets head to a higher floor." Vayrin said with a faint smile. She stood up, and dusted her cloak off from any dust that came off of the old clock tower. She quickly adjusted her headband, and made sure her weapon was on straight. She then walked passed Helios towards the teleportation podium. "I was thinking floor 2. That's usually where I go to grind these days. Its still a low floor, but there are still very powerful mobs that we can hunt." She looked back. "And with two of us, we could easily take on some of the stronger ones." She said as she turned back in the direction she had been walking and continued. This was rare among her to grind with others, but she wasn't lying when she said they could take on stronger monsters. She had also been very bored for the most of the day. She had been lying in her hotel room scrolling through her menu before she could force herself to even get up that very morning. Hopefully this would add some excitement to the dullness.

  9. Soon, the two returned to the familiar town of Armadillo. The large sandstone buildings were not far off from their current position when Calrex spoke to Vayrin again. She nodded as he gave her the instructions, and decided now was as good as any to thank him. "Thanks again, for your help." She said. "I mean, I doubt every front liner would be willing to take out a few days of their time just to help a low level like me." Vayrin sat there for a moment and began thinking. A few moments later she had her menu opened and was sending a trading request to Calrex. For 1000 Col. "I know it's probably not much, but this is my way of thanking you for your help. Especially when you didn't need to."

As they trudged through the sand to the location of the object, Calrex confirmed it was the cargo they had been looking for after pulling it out. Vayrin smiled when she heard the news. The faster they had gotten out of the desert, the better. Calrex went on to inform her what the reward for the quest meant, and to her, it sounded extremely useful. "Really? That sounds like a very valuable skill to have..." She told him, staring down at the container. Assuming he was rigght, she could put it to very good use as soon as she obtained it. Vayrin was about to thank him, but thought it would be better until they were out of the desert,  and safe back at the town of Armadillo to do so. "Well then, let's get this back to the NPC at the town."

As the two continued to travel across the dunes, Vayrin continued to scan their surroundings. The heat had by now had been irritating her a bit, but not enough to slow her yet. The sun did not look like it was going to let up anytime soon though, so she just continued to try and focus. Hoping it wasn't getting to Calrex either. By now a strong wind had picked up, blowing the sand around them. The air was a little hazy due to the sand flurry, but their line of sight was still visible. As she continued to walk up another large dune, she noticed a oddly colored object in the distance, have covered by the sand. She stopped walking and squinted, trying to get a clearer look at it. It seemed to be half of a box buried in the dune's wastes. her eyes widened when she realized this must be what they were looking for! "Hey, Calrex! I think I found it!" She yelled at her companion, still squinting at the object lying dormant in the distance...

  12. Day: 6

Feeling good about today, the violet haired girl opened the door to her tailor shop. Following the same routine she had done so every day before, she grabbed her thread and needle. Sat at her workbench. It had gotten a little dim since the fire was running out of wood. She stood up, and brought over a candle. She placed it on an empty shelf above her, well away from any of her threads. She then got to work.

She sat back and looked at what she created. Content with it, she took up the clothing, and set it on one of the shelves. That was all for today. She turned and walked out the door.

  13. He confirmed her suspicions when he laughed and made his remark. It was true, she was indeed glad she had not been the only low level who was trying to get to the front lines. She knew many SAO players who chose not to fight. For fear of their lives. That was something Vayrin could understand, but still made her a little annoyed. Even though she tried to never admit it. She just felt like everyone could be doing something to help clear the game, even if it wasn't fighting. She had seen lots of players who just live their lives casually on the first floor. Waiting for the fighters to clear the game. She supposed that's one of the reasons why she always wore her fighting gear... She wanted people to know that she was a fighter. Someone who was trying to clear the game...

Vayrin shook the thought and looked up at Helios as he got up. He told her that he should get grinding since he hadn't at all today. She nodded and thought for a moment about their conversation, then looked back. "Well, if you don't mind the company. Wanna grind together?" She asked. It was rare that she had met another player who was about the same skill level as her. Everyone she had met were either many levels above or below her. "I mean, we could probably take out some stronger mobs with our combined force. Gain some extra loot.." Vayrin had been sitting for a while so she had grown quite bored. This seemed like a chance to get active again. With someone watching her back at least.

Vayrin nodded knowingly as Calrex spoke to her about the conditions they were about to enter. She swung her weapon back into it's sheath as she followed him out of the cave. She pulled the hood back over her head as she followed him again. As the two continued to walk, she could feel the air getting significantly hotter and dryer as it had been before. Vayrin tried to not let it bother her, she just pushed harder through the wind, as she observed the two's surroundings looking for the lost cargo buried somewhere in this desert...

Although they had been in the supposed right area, she still couldn't see anything out of the ordinary in the seemingly endless wastes...

  15. "Hmm..?" Vayrin opened her eyes slowly to see the familiar figure of her companion nudging her. "Right..." She replied to him. She gave out a tired yawn, and stretched out her arms and stood up. Giving her cloak a few pats to get the dust from the cave's floor off. She nodded at Calrex, and turned to the mouth of the desert cave. She pulled out her blade from it's sheath. She gave it a few playful swings, preparing her arm in case she needed to do anything. After which, she sat down against the entrance, still holding her blade out.

A few hours of quiet passed by, until once again the sun's hot glow could be seen on the edge of the floor. Vayrin looked over at it, and gave a sigh of relief. Nothing had happened during the night. Vayrin quietly stood up again, stretching her legs. She walked to the back of the cave and leaned down beside Calrex. Shaking his shoulder gently to wake him up. "All quiet, nothing to report." She said smiling.

  16. After that, Vayrin figured that it was a fair deal. "All right. Fair enough." She told him as she walked towards the back of the cave. She sat down, still having her sword resting against her back. She simply pulled the hood lower over her face, and leaned against the wall of the large cave. "Wake me when the moon has reached the end of it's climb." She told Calrex, referring to midnight. At that, she slowly closed her eyes as her arms were crossed against her chest. A few minutes later, she had started to breath lighter, and had fallen asleep. Hoping to find their cargo soon.

  17. Vayrin followed Calrex into the large sad stone cave. She observed it for a moment as well as Calrex to make sure nothing was sleeping inside it. Her hand had been placed on her sword hilt in case something decided to jump out at them. After they had confirmed it was a safe place to be, Calrex had told her to get some rest. At this, she raised an eyebrow and decided to interject. "Oh, don't let me be completely useless." She told him. "You've done a lot for me already, so let me take watch." She said a gain, hoping Calrex would take her up on the offer. It was true that she was just a burden to him since she couldn't really be helpful. This would change that, a little at least.

  18. "Glad I'm not the only one..." She said again, staring out at the plaza. Not that she hadn't expected that response from him. By the looks of him, he seemed around the same level she was. Either that or he was just another high leveled who were just wearing their casual outfit. She seemed to have a habit of running into those kind of people recently so honestly nothing would surprise her by this point. But they way he spoke suggested he was in the same boat as her. She on the other hand had been wearing her full build. She always did. Vayrin had rarely taken off her cloak, or her chest piece unless she was sleeping. Although it seemed many others liked to wear their casual, non combat outfits when they weren't outside of the safe zone. She looked back at Helios when he offered his help to her. She gave off a small smile. "Well. It seems like you'd need mine just as much as I'd need yours." She said jokingly, suggesting they were evenly skilled based on her observations.

  19. As Calrex informed her that the desert's conditions were only going to get worse, she said nothing. She simply reached on the back of her cloak and pulled up her hood. Which had covered most of her head, leaving a few strands of her hair out. She continued to walk behind him, scanning their surroundings for good use of shelter. Only to be met with the sight of the rushing winds in the distance. She simply frowned and continued to walk. She looked back up at Calrex when he began speaking to her. "Oh, don't worry about me. Take a little more then some sand to drive me off." She replied trying to sound enthusiastic.

  20. Vayrin stayed quiet as the boy naturally assumed she was going for a guild. That was not her plan though, she tried to stay away from guilds. Even though they were helpful. She didn't correct him though, she just stayed silent. She looked back up after his second remark, and all in all it was true, she couldn't argue with him on that. "Yeah, I guess your right... I just want to help is all..." She replied. The one thing though that made Vayrin angry was not being able to help when people needed it. For SAO anyways. She stayed silent for another moment before looking back at Helios. "Your goal the same as mine?" She asked.

  21. Same routine as before. She gave her shoulder a quick turn before she attempted to hit the boulder again. With the same amount of force, she punched the solid stone. Same results. Nothing happened. At this point Vayrin started to curse a little under her breath as she backed up and kept her head low, letting someone else take a swing...

  22. Judging by the boy's posture and lack of speech, Vayrin could easily tell he was still uncomfortable. She couldn't really blame him, as she wasn't the most open or talkative person. Although his presence didn't really feel as awkward as she'd expect. Due to her lack of social interactions with others, she was slightly surprised why she didn't feel the same way he obviously did.

"No. Not in particular." She told him. "I guess I was just running a few errands down here, and took a moment to relax." She said staring out in the same direction Helios was. As Vayrin began thinking of it, her expression had changed to slight anger as she furrowed her brow. "I really should be grinding more...I need to get stronger so I can eventually join the front lines. Actually do something useful..." She said again, now looking down at her feet, similar to how Helios did moments before.

  23. "Right." Vayrin whispered under her breath as she began to follow Calrex out of the sandstone town.

Although she had been here many times, she had  never really ventured outside the town. She would sometimes wander outside, but never too far. So this was a totally new experience for her. She had been relying on Calrex for this, mostly because he had apparently done this quest many times. She didn't doubt him on that. The one thing Vayrin didn't account for on this quest was the heat. Sure it was hot on this floor, but for some reason, the farther they walked from the towns, the more the air became dryer. Her throat was the same. She supposed it was mostly her cloak that had made it hotter then usual, and said nothing of it. She was just trying to focus on not slipping of the dunes from the shaking sand.

  24. "Oh?" Vayrin replied, half expecting this response. It would have probably been her's as well on a regular basis. She was strong enough to grind on some of the higher floors, but it was nice to relax every once and a while. She never really cared for the noise that the large town brought. In fact, she rarely noticed it now that she had been here often. She then tried to think up a response. She looked out at the large plaza, as the mass numbers of NPC's and Players mingled. "I don't really know... I guess same as you. Just came to relax after my grinding on the 2nd floor..." She said, not breaking eye contact with the plaza.

  25. As Helios sat down, she observed him more closely. He had a different color choice then most people would have chosen. Green and Black. Nothing she had ever seen in SAO so far. Although she couldn't pretend it was unusual when she looked at her own clothes. She always had liked violet more then any other color, and she guessed it would come to no one's surprise when they had looked at her. She shook her thoughts though after Helios placed himself beside her. She attempted to use one of the original conversation starters so things wouldn't feel awkward again. "So.. Uh.. What brings you here? She asked a little nervously. She rarely had conversations with anyone.
