  1. Kasier didn't know this Birdie person very well either. She had known her, of course, since the kind girl was part of the guild that a group of them had made from dust. The guild was like family, and just like family, there were people that you loved more than others... in the end though, they are all still family. Kasier looked up at the name in the board - she had gone through a few quests with the girl, nothing much, nothing really to get a glimpse of her personality and her emotional state. It was then that a thought hit her. Perhaps she could've stopped her from jumping? Kasier had always acknowledged her ability to teach people lessons through dramatic means or to read an individual's general personality, but she had failed. If Birdie had had the thought to do what she did for a long time, Kasier had failed as a paladin. She stared at the board and soon felt Itzal leaning against her.

    She looked down, and found herself sitting down as well, allowing Itzal to lean against her. This was a bad time for Itzal... she could only imagine how it feels to have an apprentice that you spent so much time with die by the blade of not having to suffer any longer within the death game that kills even harder than the bullet of an AK. Kasier could only imagine, because she had never had an apprentice like that before. She could never commit herself to one, because she didn't want to develop too strong of a bond with them. She sighed, allowing the love of her life to continue to rest there while she continued to let him talk, spilling out his emotions as she remained in silence. "You did your job. There was nothing else that you could do, no matter how much you want to reverse time." She finished, "I know what it's like to loss friends." Kasier paused, looking at the sun blazing down in the distance. "No... family."

    @Itzal

  2. ("He was immune to that bull crap")

    Kasier felt an emotional dread coming from deep within her. She attempted to pull out her vanity weapon in order to appear more fierce, but for some reason, even Kasier could not manage to find the strength to do so. She felt a small drop of tear come from her face, but that was the maximum that she would let out. Although she wasn't strong emotionally, it would have to be her death that she would let anyone see her show any sort of weakness. Kasier closed her mouth shut, watching helplessly as the monster came at her. At this point, Kasier could only hope that her mitigation was powerful enough to negate some of the hits. Closing her eyes, she prepared for the attack to come.

    Then suddenly, she heard a few clicks, and a series of noises that she couldn't decipher in the darkness... the next thing she knew, the Banshee wasn't there anymore. The wails of the Banshee seemed to get lower and lower, and the noise seemed to be sinking by the second. Kasier opened her eyes, and the glowing blonde hair of Jonathan stood out enough in the darkness that she could tell it was him. At that point, the tear had already dried from her face, and in the darkness, Jonathan shouldn't be able to see anything on her face... at least, she hoped. Kasier began to attempt to move, slowly, and surely, she was able to move a couple of fingers, and then her arms, and finally her legs. "Yeah, I'm alright. Let's finish this quest up. Those wails are quite powerful - I underestimated it." Kasier said.

  3. Kasier sighed, staring at the sky with those dull eyes of hers. She wanted to go out and talk to some people, but she couldn't find the motivation or even the inspiration to force herself to do so. She had no need - She was high-leveled enough that she would be allowed to participate in the boss fights, so she had no point of grinding any further, and although she's low-leveled enough to get killed, perhaps it was even better that way. Kasier felt a tear drop from her maiden eyes before she whipped it off in a routine manner. Kasier was used to random tear drops falling from her eyes, and it was practically reflex at this point.

    She stood up from the park bench in order to head to the high floors and grind some levels with other players. She doesn't necessarily need them, but she wouldn't mind coming along, for there was nothing better for her to do anyways. Soon, she reached the twenty-second floor, and without even lifting her head to admire any of the scenery, used her mini-map to pinpoint Jonathan's location. It was when she finally reached him when she looked up. "Greetings," She exclaimed, in a matter-of-fact manner.

  5. Kasier could hear the wails getting closer and closer, until they were practically right against her. She could see or hear no signs of Jonathan, which means she might have to start the fight with the Banshee by herself. This wasn't ideal, as Kasier was not the best fighter. She can take a few hits against weaker enemies, but she wasn't sure how strong this banshee would be with such a heavy reward in Col if she was to defeat her. Kasier took a deep breath and prepared to howl when suddenly she realized that the Banshee could not see her. She was standing perfectly still, and although the Banshee could sense where her general direction, she couldn't pinpoint it. She was slowly looking around, trying to catch a trace of where Kasier could be. Good, I can wait until Jonathan comes about. She thought.

    Just as that thought popped into her head, she heard a notification. Oh crap, I forgot to turn it off. Kasier thought, immediately closing the message without reading it. She checked back at the Banshee who she was able to make out in the darkness. Those dreadful eyes - glowing red, and no content within were staring deeply into her eyes, as if they can see beyond not only her eyes, but the fear that lay deep within her. Her long black hair flew in the air, as if it was unaffected by gravity, or any sort of attack that Kasier could launch at her. Kasier braced herself, anticipating an attack, and an attack did come. "Over here!" Kasier screamed, raising her shield high. The next thing she saw was the Banshee launching towards her.

    @Morgenstern

    (Jonathan can be a hero here by jumping in front of the attack and hitting her or something.)

  6. "Sometimes, I feel like if I never exited the safe zone in the first place... stayed in a hotel somewhere and just waited until the end of the game, I wouldn't have to go through all that stuff, you know? What would the front lines do without a couple of people? Perhaps the players really can't do it - this game was supposed to be challenging, you know. And without PKers doing their deeds, it's already hard enough to continue. Now, PKers roam the floors. An orange player who claims to be a good person is not necessarily the case." Kasier sighed, staring down at her own two feet as she continued to blab away. She had yet to even look him directly, but a scan at his face seemed sufficient enough. She didn't know his name either, but that wasn't important to her. It was times like this that she could care less who she was speaking to, as long as they weren't familiar with her. This wasn't the sort of talk that she can have with Itzal or any of her friends, but for a stranger who Kasier might never see again, this didn't matter.

    "Friends? Everyone I know are even more depressed than I am. I need to be strong... just for them, but it's hard. Strength isn't something that you just find over night, and for some of us, it's something that you might never find."

    Kasier smiled. She had taken a break from a couple of crafting sessions because she didn't feel like they were yielding very much results. However, an individual, probably a material hunter seemed to always be coming back to her store and getting these coffee from her. She was glad that the man had bought her stuff, because for a while now, she hasn't been able to get any customers. Now that someone's out searching for materials, she can finally give her items to someone and they can pay her the materials that he gathers in return. It was kind of a perfect transaction, and Kasier hopes to keep it going.+12 T1 Materials

  9. "I fear life itself. I fear death as well. I fear because any second, someone might disappear from my friend's list. A war could go on between PKers and players at any moment. I fear life, because I have to witness these things going on around me, and I fear death because I have someone to live for." Kasier exclaimed, saying it as if she had read it from a textbook. It was a beautiful crafted sentence, and it was surprising that Kasier had been the one to say something like this. However, it was what Kasier truly felt. She was in an emotional state where she cannot simply jump off of an edge, because she had someone that she loved. However, it hurt her to continue to live like this, watching as people die, walking away from her. The images of the players dying in front of her, with her unable to do anything despite her being a tank, was still fresh in her mind, and it continued to repeat, repeat, repeat - until the images were no longer fakes generated inside her mind. With each repeat, it was like a rapier penetrating into the middle of her chest, hurting her even though she cannot feel pain in this unrealistic world.

    "Well. Have you ever seen an entire guild whipped out before your eyes? Watching that once... It's worse than jumping off this cliff 100 times, or staring straight down from it for 1,000 days. It's nothing that you can imagine." Kasier managed to say.

    @Benjamin Bookworm

  10. Kasier heard Jonathan's footsteps walking away from her as he looked for a way to get on her side of the wall. She took a deep breath, suddenly feeling an emotion of completely loneliness in the darkness as well. She looked at the ceiling, "Is this really how I'm going to die? In complete darkness?" She questioned to no one in particular, perhaps to God? Or perhaps even to the person who is currently writing this post, and unable to feel any sort of sympathy for Kasier, who was fine with having her stuck in complete darkness, and unable to find a solution out of it. If only she was a Mary Sue, then she would be able to break the wall apart, and then destroy all the enemies, along with all the structures in this darn place with one sword art. Unluckily, she was not a Mary Sue - she had her weaknesses. Stupid writer, coming up with all these stuff and giving Kasier a disadvantage. With a sigh, Kasier shrunk against the wall even further, "Come on, writer, can you please come up with something cool and creative to get me out of here? I would like to break this wall instead of the fourth wall, if you would let me please," Kasier pleaded, helpless in the hands of the fate that the writer had seemingly given her.

    However, the writer is not that merciless! Kasier got out her menu in a sudden burst of courage, and sent Jonathan a message, asking him where he was and whether he found anything that she can help with. Kasier could hear the wails around her, and it was getting closer and closer, to the point where she was starting to feel her body weaken. I can't sustain this for too long, even with my heavy armor absorbing some of its powers.

  11. Kasier observed the battlefield. At the moment, the lives of the players weren't being threatened, and the only player who had damage dealt to him was Jonathan, and he was still high up there in the green zone. Still, she decided that she would heal him up anyways, since she didn't have much to do anyways, and her sharpness was on cool down, so she couldn't use it to boost someone's damage output. She sighed, opening her menu, and that was when she felt something touch her face. Somehow, without her noticing it, the elf had managed to get close to her. Kasier froze completely in nervousness as her eyes followed the elf who was circling her. She looked for Itzal, but she couldn't find him in the midst of the chaos. She might have to deal with this alone, but she didn't have the power like Zandra had unleashed just a couple of seconds ago. Now, she didn't know what to do. She could only watch as Rori placed his hands on her hair, toying with it as if it were his. Kasier closed her eyes, not wanting to look at his face when she heard the sound of combat. She opened her eyes at just the right moment to see Itzal unleashing a powerful sword art on the elf, putting its health down, and getting him away from her. This Itzal had a different atmosphere to him - it was something that she hadn't seen for a long time now. Kasier stood there for a moment, admiring her soon-to-be husband before shaking her head multiple times. "Thanks, Felix," Kasier whispered, "I'm gonna go heal Morgenstern up now... don't do anything stupid," Kasier shakily commanded, "I'll be right back."

    Trying to find the tank of the party, she soon spotted him unleashing an attack on the female elf. Kasier's eyebrows went up, however, when the blonde man helped Rori up on his feet. Waiting for Jonathan back up a few steps, Kasier rushed up to him as fast as she could, which wasn't even that fast due to how much her heavy armor weighed her down. "Hold on, let me heal you. Also, can you take this more seriously? I know they aren't doing that much right now, but what if one of them manages to unleash some crazy attack and kill a few people. What are you thinking?" Kasier asked, but without waiting for an answer, returned back to Itzal to keep an eye on him having healed up Jonathan.

  12. Kasier had closed her eyes as she sat there in thought when suddenly a voice interrupted her. She opened her eyes, revealing her fierce red eyes that had now been toned down to nothing but a flicker of flames remaining in that socket of hers. The intensity that was there before had disappeared, replaced by something that was longing for something else... something that she can't quite place her hands on. She sighed, sitting up straight as she stared back down at the view.

    "Have you ever wondered why this is all here? Have you ever wondered why it is that a beautiful game like this is simply a mask for a death game. All of this placed here are literally just images that make us forget that the moment we make a mistake, we die?" Kasier began to talk, wanting to obtain a new perspective on her problems, wanting to just spill out everything, even if it was just to a random stranger that she had recently met. Heck, she should probably be getting off that cliff, because with one push, she could fall to her death. "You don't enjoy the heights, huh? Well, sometimes, it's good to overcome a fear of yours." She began, aimlessly talking with no thought in mind. Kasier exclaimed, looking down at her own two feet. "Boy would I like that." She thought, remembering the fear that she felt during that bloodshed. The fall of the Ascendants. It would be an event remembered for the rest of the game, where nearly the entire guild falls to pieces under the blades of villains. She could've saved some of them... but she was frozen, unable to move until the last moment, and by then, it was too late. With that thought, and the images repeating in her mind, she felt a drop of tear appearing from her eyes.

    @Benjamin Bookworm

  13. Group Four

    Kasier still didn't like what they had in their hands. She hated using this 'flirt' approach because she was already about to get married, and even for a mission like this, an obligation as some would call it, she still would never approach a male in a flirty way. Actually, she didn't know how to flirt... so Sunova would have to do most of the work here. She'll be in charge of asking some of the questions in an authoritative manner, but that will have to be it. "Wait, I don't think we have a great id-" She began to say, cutting herself off in the end. The party couldn't afford to waste any more time brainstorming of new ideas. They had to put their plan into action, and even if it means some of the things they do are going to be impromptu. Kasier watched as Elucia came back, informing the other two players of the location that the target. Just like that, Elucia led the two players to where their mission would take place.

    Kasier took a deep breath in nervousness - their lives could actually be in danger if this went wrong, but hopefully everything will go according to plan. The thing was, Kasier thought that Sunova would be the person who would flirt, but it would seem extremely unusual if she went from crying about one of her friends to flirting with a random man who seemed to have information. She sighed, turning and giving Sunova a quick hug when the target was in their field of vision. The two were enough of a scene just by being females, and one of them were crying. This was the perfect opportunity for a hero to come help a damsel in distress, and perhaps even get a 'reward' for it. "Just keep up the act. I'll do the questioning. If this character is that driven into lust, then he should be approaching us, not waiting for us to approach him. He'll initiate, I'm sure of it." Kasier whispered quickly in Sunova's ears before continuing the act, saying, "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find him soon."

  14. Kasier glanced at the two, sighing before walking out of the shadows. She was never the type to stay behind in something, and this wasn't a case to make an exception either. Slowly, she walked up to the two players, finding herself by their side as she browsed through the contents of the monument. Here was a recording of all the players who have passed away, and hopefully, they found themselves in a better place. She had always been coming here to see if anyone she knew entered the monument of death on a weekly basis, but she hadn't come here this week. She sighed, allowing her blonde hair to flow to the rhythm of the wind as she didn't even look down at the two players besides her. Instead, she stood tall, confronting the names of those who had either fought courageously against the monsters that haunted the floors of Aincrad and lost, or the players who have fought against themselves in a battle of courage and will, and lost.

    She couldn't cry at their deaths though. In fact, she saw the names of the three friends she had come into the game with, and their presence was a reminder of how much Kasier had changed since she came here. From someone who couldn't even use a sword in a video game to someone who was ready to heal at any moment, and ready to block a threatening blow at any cost. They were reminders... reminder that people have sacrificed themselves for the sake of others in this game. They were the reasons that the remaining players must continue to fight on without losing hope. It was then that she saw a familiar name that was new. It had probably just come to the monument not that long ago - Birdie. To be completely honest, she had little associations with the female, but she knew how much the girl meant to Itzal.

    Making the connection, Kasier looked down at the two players. "This is a dangerous world. It's probably those days of continuously looking at players... close friends fall away to death that had driven her to do so. It's hard to take in, you know? To know that people around are dying, and who knows whether the next one to die will be you. Itzal, it's completely okay to be sad. In fact, cry to your heart's extend when you have the ability to do so right now. However, use this as a reminder that more people will die if we don't beat this game as soon as we can. More people will fail to overcome the images that have penetrated their heads that repeat over and over again. You can't afford to linger like this for too long... and I hope, and I know Birdie hopes that her death would not impact you to an extend where..." Kasier trailed off. Oh! How she wanted to bend down and carry the love of her life in her arms. How she wanted to whip away those tears and baby him in her arms. If it wasn't in public, she would've rushed to his aid, but no matter how much she tried, she can't. It was her fear of the public... and she can't over come it.

  15. Kasier's eyes - empty, full of darkness, as she stared into the darkness that had been created by the shadow of the mountain that she was sitting on top of. If she was to jump down from here, her bones would be crashed, her fragile body would burst into thousands of pieces upon contact, and her existence would no longer remain. Just one simple decision, and she would be free from the deaths that she has seen, the nightmares that haunt her from the beginning of the night, all the way to the break of sunrise. She could be free from all the terrors, at the expense of one simple thing - her own priceless life. Kasier looked down below... oh, how she wished that she could just end it all. But that was the one thing that she cannot do at this moment. She had someone to live for, and that is exactly why she must live on, even if she lives on as a weakened version of her past self with a lack of mental willpower that she used to have.

    She sighed, dangling her feet off the cliff as she continued to watch what was down below. How could a game like this be so beautiful? With it's long-flowing waterfalls that she wished her hair could imitiate, with the dark-green trees that acted as umbrellas, sheltering the players from the water that comes out when waterfalls hit at the bottom of the cliff. She could see materials down there... fruits, vegetables, the entire labyrinth of nature was awaiting her... waiting for her to jump down and pick them all up, but she felt zero inspiration for anything at the moment. Yes, she laid back, her back on the cliff while her legs off it, I hate to say it... But even I know that this is depression. Kasier thought, what a cruel world.

  16. "Darn, where did he go," Kasier remarked, being delayed by a big man with a mustache currently torturing the horse underneath him with his weight. Naturally, the horse wasn't moving too fast under the weight of its owner, and the wagon behind the horse was acting as the actual obstacle preventing Kasier from watching Itzal as he turned the corner. Now, having lived on the first floor for a while now, she began to consider where on the first floor, Itzal could've possibly been going. Before long, she found herself standing completely still in the middle of the street. That was when she felt a light push from behind. "Keep it moving, will ya." Kasier heard a feminine voice say from behind her. Kasier looked behind her but failed to see anything. Looking down, she saw a silver-haired little girl with a battle axe that was twice her size on her shoulders. Kasier jumped back in surprise, scratching the back of her blonde hair in embarrasement. "Sorry about that. I see that you're on your way to completing a quest or getting stronger?" Kasier asked out of curiosity. "Nope, I saw a black-haired man running to the monument with all the dead people. That means someone died right? Maybe there's a super powerful boss on the first floor that I can kill real fast and claim some nice drops," the girl exclaimed, laughing as she walked past Kasier.

    Kasier sighed. A black-haired man... although vague, I don't see anyone else running nowadays. The monument, huh? I wonder what happened. Kasier thought, walking to the monument without a second wasted. Turning the corner, she caught sight of the monument that was standing tall and high, marking each individual who has passed on from the world. At the top... well, she couldn't see the top. At the bottom, she saw Itzal. But that's not all. There was also a black-haired girl there too, although she seemed familiar, Kasier couldn't place her hands on the identity of the woman. The most confusing thing was the fact that they seemed to be embracing each other. In public too... Kasier thought, frustrated and jealous but without acting under no thinking. She decided that she would stay in the shadows from which she turned from the corner.

    (Hehe... I love plot)

  17. Kasier yawned, sitting up and looking at the other side of her bed - the side which was empty. "Argh," Kasier moaned, rubbing her right eye with her hands. She sighed, uncovering herself and changing to the usual clothing that she wore. The day had started, just like usual... just the same old way that every day seemed to start with. She went with her daily routines, going downstairs to grab herself a cup of coffee that she had made in her shop, providing herself with the made-believe energy that would start her day off. Of course, Itzal was probably out grinding already, so she didn't have to make a meal for him. Instead, she decided that a simple egg would do fine as replacement for the big breakfast she usually ate as routine. Walking out, she noticed that something in the atmosphere was different, but she couldn't place her hands on it. With a shrug, she began to walk aimlessly, as she couldn't do any quests without other people and she didn't have the inspiration to material gather either since it was so boring. This was what Kasier had been doing recently - going to random places whenever her heart desires it. Today, she decided to spend some time back on the first floor again... it's been a while since she has browsed through the stores here.

    She continued to walk along the well-created stone path that the town provides for players to give them a comfortable walk. It was then that she noticed Itzal storming across the town in a rush. He should be in the wilderness on the highest floor right now... why is he down here? Kasier wondered. There was no way that she can catch up to him, so she started following him slowly from behind. She wanted to send him a message, but if she stopped to do so, he would have certainly lost her.

    Once more, Kasier would craft. Recently, her coffee that boosted luck was getting quite a bit of attention, which meant that she would craft more to fulfill the demand. If she kept making these, people would pay her to make them, and then she would continue to make it. Eventually, she would be making a profit some what, even though prices in this game doesn't quite make sense, especially consumables since they were dirt cheap. Kasier got right to crafting, managing to produce quite the two perfect products, which she would put on the shelves to sell right away. People might need them after all.
