The flame aura covering Aereth was something Aoda had never seen before. That's new. He thought, interested in how he went about obtaining the effect. The Wasp King and Queen that approached were incredibly strong, compared to any other boss the player had fought in the past. Thankfully, he'd have the help of two other strong teammates with him.
He drew his sword as Aereth advanced for his attack. The brunette's strategy could have worked, if only the wasps hadn't noticed him fall from the tree. While the mobs were distracted with the man, Aoda rushed in, prepared to slash at least one of the two with his blade. However, it seemed the creatures weren't as distracted as he had previously assumed. As soon as he swung his weapon, the Wasp King flew out of the way, causing the lad to badly miss. Damn... I guess it could have been worse, though.

"Yep, you could, if you wanted to do that. Of course, without the Dual-Wielding skill, you can only use one sword at a time." Aoda responded, thinking about a man his sibling had once told him about. Dual-wielding was an interesting concept, one the stygian-haired man was quite fond of. With a single blade, Aoda's offhand felt sort of empty. This could be changed simply by adding a shield to it, however this didn't feel right to him. I'll get used to it eventually.
"I'll be sticking with the Curved Sword skill. Like you said, Katana's too mainstream, right?" He agreed with a friendly smile. Suddenly, the duo had reached the end of the safezone. Beyond the walls, there was nothing but vast, open fields and boars to challenge. "I assume you want to start by taking on one of them?" Aoda inquired, gesturing to one of the many boars covering the land.
Other than that, there wasn't much else he could think of doing, other than quests, but they'd be too challenging for two low-leveled players like themselves. He guaranteed that they could handle boars, as long as he did most of the tanking. If one of the beasts decided to move their aggro towards Airi, it could end badly. The monsters around them were adjusted to fit Aoda's level, which was surprisingly high compared to their base stats. The system expected a lot from a level three.
Aoda gripped his hand around the hilt of his curved sword as it was drawn from it's leather sheath. He approached a boar, prepared to make a swift disengage if necessary. "Let me tank damage. We don't need you dying out here." The lad told the girl. A red glow enveloped his blade as he activated a Sword Art, <<Rage Blow>>. Suddenly, he dashed towards the boar, who clearly didn't expect the assault from behind, dealing a third of it's health. "Whenever you're ready."

Being separated from the rest of his guild had been somewhat nerve wracking at the beginning. But as he watched as one of his own guildmates was cut down by the bull-headed colonel, Aoda's emotions became mixed. He'd never witnessed a death of a comrade up close. He was both horrified and thankful. Horrified that someone so inexperienced was defeated without even a chance to realize what was happening, though he was grateful that it wasn't him who was put in their group. It was an odd blend of feelings, though they were swiftly put to rest as he heard the shouts of other players, seemingly gathering to avenge the man's demise and defeat the three beasts.
Many attacks were targeted towards the bull labeled <<Col. Nato>>, enough to deal half of his health. They were making sure he wouldn't survive another round to strike down another unprepared low-leveled player. It could even have been Aoda soon enough, if they managed to take aggro on him.
Suddenly, the raven-haired individual heard the silent words of another player in his group. Aoda recognized the latin the brunette spoke, although he wasn't able to understand it. The man made his move, attempting a strike on the colonel, however it was evaded with ease. The first attack made by Group 4 ended in failure. It was his turn to make the second a success.
Mangekyo, the lad's curved blade, was already drawn and prepared for battle. Aoda lunged forward in the weakest minotaur's direction. He carried enough knowledge to understand that his next slash would not damage the creature enough to make a large difference in the finale of the boss fight, however he was aware that he could do whatever was possible to help punish Nato for what he had done to Izzrikl. Only seconds before the man's blade inserted itself into the leg of the bull, Colonel Nato lifted himself out of the way, causing Aoda to miss his charge. Backing up, the noirette retreated to the spot where the rest of his group laid dormant, waiting for an opening to attack.

The woman was awfully hard on herself. It was unnecessary for someone of her experience to act in such a way. "Hey, listen," Aoda began, "Next time, you'll get a solid attack. Believe me, you just need practice." She was right, however. It was a close fight. One that he'd rather not have happen again. "How're you feeling? That was a close call." The lad asked. He had nearly witnessed yet another death in Aincrad and it could have easily been his fault.
Aoda sat down in the grass near the girl. Not too close, as he wasn't interested in making her feel uncomfortable, after all. "This is your first time out here, right? It's mine as well. Sorry for that last fight. If I were quicker, your health wouldn't have gotten that low." The lad apologized, although he knew it wasn't necessarily his fault. "Just tell me when and we can fight another boar, if you're still up for it."

What Atzo had asked was indeed a great question. What was Aoda doing on the sixteenth floor, when he knew his level was unsuited for the monsters that lurked outside of the safezone. "Truth is, I didn't intend to leave this town. Originally, I teleported here to explore the safezone, since I've spent most of my time in the single digit floors. I was interested in what this place offered." He explained. Instead of doing what he had just said, the lad was now about to leave the comfort of safety to challenge a large snake with the ability to blend into it's surroundings. It was an unsettling thought for him, a weaker player.
The other two party members intrigued him as well. Shield's name fit perfectly, being a tank and all. The other called himself the Master of Shadows, which also seemed to suit him, as he had vanished from his own shadow and reappeared in the red-haired player's. So these are high leveled players. Interesting.
-
"What's it like?" The raven-haired individual thought for a moment, considering the right choice of words to describe the outside world. "It's honestly great out there, despite how dangerous it can get. The first floor is just open fields, for the most part, but it's still beautiful." He responded, hoping his answer was suitable. Aoda's hands entered the pockets of his pants as the duo continued on their way, almost reaching the safezone's exit. He wasn't worried about bringing a girl who hadn't left the Town of Beginnings outside of it's walls. With his newly crafted weapon, he had a feeling they would come back in one piece.
Prior to partying up with the girl, Aoda had noticed the she too used a one-handed curved sword. He respected that, as it was rare for him to come across someone who hadn't turned it into the Katana skill. Of course, there was no way of knowing whether or not she had planned to do that in the future without asking. "About your weapon. Are you sticking with a curved sword or are you going to switch to a katana when you get the chance?" It may have been an odd question to ask out of the blue, but he was interested.

Aoda needed to get stronger. Strong enough to escape the first floor and move on from his past. He felt locked there, coming to the Black Iron Palace each and every day to look at the large stone tablet that rested inside, a new name appearing each glance. Although it annoyed him, he knew there wasn't much he could change as weak as he was. Despite wanting to change the world so much, he didn't want to become a frontliner. How else could he help though?
I don't need to figure it out right now. I have plenty of time. The boy thought, looking through a variety of quests. He was interested in gaining levels, but he couldn't seem to find a specific quest to take on. "Perhaps fighting some boars could be easier." He gazed up, continuing to walk forward in the direction of the exit of the town. As he walked, he considered the warnings he'd been given in the past about combat outside. He recently witnessed a low leveled player, possibly even weaker than he was, die to one of the demons known as boars. They were definitely dangerous. Could he take one on alone?
The raven-haired player glanced over, his elbow nearly brushing against another player's. These things happened often, being such a crowded town, so he didn't think much of it. Aoda strolled onward, now able to see the gate, which would lead him into the open world outside of the safezone. He had been outside before. Huge plains that seemed to go on endlessly covered the floor, as well as many shrubs and bushes. Surprisingly enough, there weren't as many forests as you'd expect. The first area of an RPG always seemed to include a forest of some sort.
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Curiously, the lad turned. The girl was much shorter than he was and she looked a bit younger, although not by much. The way she spoke to him without finishing a sentence or even breathing told Aoda that she was nervous. Fair enough.
He spoke calmly to the girl, giving her a friendly smile. "I also planned on heading out, so if you'd like to join me, be my guest. I'm Aoda, it's nice to meet you."

The lad let out a chuckle as the girl told him she liked his name. "Thank you. LKZ's a great name too. How'd you come up with it?" Aoda inquired, watching as the virtual orb flew through across the court. Thankfully, LKZ's height helped in his favor, causing her to be only a few inches short of whipping the tennis ball back to his side of the court. Surprisingly enough, the number on the scoreboard changed to "1" on his side. "Maybe I was a professional in another life." Aoda replied.
Holding his racket with a tight grip, the black-haired player readied his serve. It was a bit nerve wracking, being his first serve and all, but he thought he could at least get it to the other side of the arena. Unfortunately, his swing wasn't as strong as he hoped. It made it to the other side, but seemed to be an easy target for the girl, who was a clearly a veteran in racketeering.
"Trust me, you're probably a lot better than I am." He responded with a laugh. Aoda watched the girl's posture as she prepared for a counter to his weak serve. With his experience, the boy didn't know what to expect from his opponent. "I found this place while exploring the town. I didn't even realize there was strudel here. I think you'll need to introduce me later."
