Aoda noticed a man speaking with Airi, the woman he had met only a short time ago. He was surprised to see the possible new member approaching him next. "It's great to meet you, Hei. I'm Aoda, or The Pearl Raven. Atzo gave me the nickname, for whatever reason. So, you're interested in the DPS team? Well, I can assure you, whichever squad you choose to join will welcome you warmly," The lad began, a casual smile growing on his face, "From what I can tell, we are the smallest division of the guild, which isn't necessarily a good or bad thing. We're called the DPS team, but we really don't do much damage yet. We're working up to that, I suppose. Any questions in particular?"
He spoke a while, however he didn't really have much to say. The guild was new, of course, and he wasn't sure what Atzo had planned to do with the divisions, so there wasn't much he could tell the uninformed man in that case. It was best he waited for any specific inquiries to come his way.

Welcome to Aincrad.

Considering the amount of times the duo had missed their attempts at defeating the boar, Aoda was impressed when the girl's sword finally met it's skin. "Look at that. We're still alive." He chuckled, his blade entering it's sheath once more. The battle between the two players and the boar had finally come to a conclusion, the victors being Airi and Aoda. Surprisingly, it had been a lot more trouble than previous fights had been for him. Maybe he was just off his game. Either that or the monsters were simply becoming stronger opponents to face.
Like the red-head had stated earlier, her drop was just col and materials, which were used in crafting. No extra items or anything of that sort. Unfortunate, but there was nothing they could do about that at this point. It wasn't a big deal anyway, since most items were a relatively low cost; usually under one-thousand col. The woman's next quote made the dark-haired player smirk. "I can keep encouraging you, if that's what you're asking." He responded, a bit unsure of what she was implying.

Aoda watched as "the big bad tank" drew the attention from the bandits to himself, causing all of the damage that would have inflicted the noirette to be redirected towards him. All four of their opponents were near death, but unfortunately the neither of the players had it in them to take each of them out in one move. It would take a little more time, although it not nearly as much as he'd expected when they began the quest. With Sword Arts involved, their health was reduced drastically. If only he had the energy for one more.
Instead, he lunged at the closest bandit and slashed into him with his curved sword, lowering it's health a little bit more. One more attack and there would be one less enemy to worry about.
Due to Shield's <<Howl>> skill, the bandits didn't even stop to look at Aoda. They just kept on marching forward, determined to attack the tank, who was barely able to be scratched by the mobs.

Aoda hadn't taken the man's thorns into account. Looks like he wouldn't be their main source of damage after all. With the bandits dazed from their previous attack, the lad thought it would be the perfect time to strike. He raised his blade, activating the same Sword Art he had used only moments before. The bandits hadn't even noticed him by the time his blade cut through each of them. Gotta love area of effect, right? Luckily, the damage was enhanced, due to a critical strike. Pretty quickly, they'd be finished with the fight and ready to move on.
Although they struggled to get back up, the group of opponents stumbled onto their feet again, readying themselves for another rush against the dank tank. "Get ready, they're coming for round two." He said to his comrade, preparing himself as well. Shield was a capable player who had surely already recognized the incoming attack from the bandits.

"You as well. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to go down so easily." He gave a grin as the man nudged his shoulder. Following the man's order, Aoda walked with him, taking a peak at their hot surroundings as they traversed the fiery terrain. The floor was created to have a volcanic environment. The noirette was a fan of warm places, but this was definitely cutting it.
The tank seemed to know his way around the area, which was quite useful. He must have spent a decent amount of time on the floor if he new exactly where they were heading. "So, we'll be taking on bandits? Don't forget, this quest'll take a little while to complete if I'm our main source of damage. Even with a Sword Art, the most I can deal is 20 health points." It was a good thing the large man had a lot of mitigation. They'd need it.
Arriving at the camp, Shield explained the plan. It was the same as usual. He took their damage and Aoda would try his best to deal enough to kill all four of the opponents. Suddenly, the tank spoke in a booming voice, activating his "Howl" skill. Each of the bandits took notice of this and their aggros immediately locked onto him.
Their knives sank into his armor, but did only the smallest degree of damage to him. This was Aoda's chance to start attacking the enemies. He entered the battle, his blade glowing blood red as he activated a Sword Art, "Farrant Full Moon". He chose an AoE ability, in order to get the most out of his energy used. The blade cut through all four of the bandits, but didn't stop them from targeting the armored player behind him. Aoda backed up, choosing a safe place behind Shield, in case something unexpected happened. I've got enough for one more of these. I should save some energy, just in case.

The crunching sound of the snow beneath Aoda's feet filled his ears. It was a sort of comforting noise, one that could only be heard by travelling to the fourth floor. Multiple sheets of cold, white snow covered the ground. A sight he was accustom to, due to living in such cold temperatures before Sword Art Online claimed his life. The dark-haired man walked through a forest, occasionally glancing up at the tall trees that surrounded him. Eventually, he found an exit, opening up a large, frozen lake. Perfect for ice-skating.
Aoda was surprised to see the other players that surrounded the body of water. From what he could tell, there was a boy and a girl, sitting at opposite sides of the lake. They're probably just relaxing. Not too odd.
The closest player to the the lad was the red-haired man by the tree. His outfit was clearly unfit for the harsh terrain, but then again, neither was Aoda's. In the mood for a conversation, he stepped forwards, in the strangers direction. "You think this is safe to walk on?" He gestured to the icy lake.

(I'm not late. In fact, I'm early.)
Hikoru's ability didn't intimidate the noirette, like Shield had fairly assumed. Instead, it peaked his curiosity. Aoda had never heard of a skill that allowed it's user to become literal shadows. I need to talk to this guy when we're finished. He thought as the man began to speak. He'd meet them at the battlefield, which was fair enough. Hikoru would defend them from the darkness, while they traversed through the landscape, in search of the serpent which dwelled somewhere in the murky waters below.
"To answer your question, no, I didn't have a single idea I'd be pulled along on a quest that would guarantee my death, if we didn't have Shield with us. But hey, what's the worst that could happen, right?"
The strategy Atzo spoke of was, in theory, quite solid. However, if they would be battling more than just the snake, then it would mean more experience and possible drops. That could be useful. "I'd say fighting more would be alright with me, as long as you're interested in sticking around to defend us," He gestured to the tank, "Of course, only if we have the time to do so."

To put it simply, Aoda was late. He never seemed to show up on time to events like this, no matter how hard he tried. "Ah well, they won't mind. What could they have done without me anyway?" The lad asked himself. Unlike usual guild meetups, he wasn't wearing his cloak. The man had assumed this was a casual get-together, so he thought his regular outfit would do; his bland, basic armor set that he'd yet to have replaced. His curved blade was equipped, sitting at peace on his back as he walked down the mountain path towards Atzo's "mansion". Still, he wondered how a player of his caliber was able to afford such a home.
The way to the house was not to treacherous of a hike, but it wasn't that quick either. Upon finally arriving, he gave a decent-sounding knock on the wooden door and waited politely for the red-haired guild leader to let him in. "I wonder how many people showed up this time." He mumbled, remembering the previous time they had gotten together. That time, there had been people not of their guild present as well. From what he knew, however, this time it was going to be members only, so to speak.
