  3. Aoda would try his best, although he knew he was no match for the self-proclaimed "King of Demons". Being given first strike was very much appreciated, but even that wouldn't be enough to win him the duel, especially if he were to miss his attack. Without even the slightest bit of hesitation, the noirette rushed his opponent, raising his blade into the air and slicing down where Aereth was.

At least, where he thought he was. It was unfortunate, but his blade stuck into the virtual dirt, centimeters from where the brunette stood. This is the end for me. He let out a sigh, trying his best to quickly evacuate himself to a safer position. Not a great first impression, but he was inexperienced. Hopefully that wouldn't happen again.

"Your turn then." Aoda stated, readying his blade for the incoming attack. The player was quite capable, he was certain about that. He was, however, interested in the man's abilities. I guess I'll find out in a moment what I'm going up against.

  6. Aereth's explanation of the training they'd be doing only slightly worried Aoda. Of course, it would be necessary for him to overcome some challenges in order to improve himself. "I wouldn't train any other way." He responded, giving a light chuckle at the man's next remark. He understood why the killer of player killers wouldn't want his username out for the world to see. He then gave Aoda two options; to tell him his level and skills or to duel him. The raven-haired player didn't even have to think about his answer.

"As long as I live to see the end of the duel, then I'd be honored to challenge you." He smirked, noticing the new player joining the group from the shadows. "Good to see you too, Hikoru." The rough woman introduced herself to the self-proclaimed Master of Shadows. Aoda hadn't remembered to offer his name to the girl. Rude of him, but she didn't seem to mind.

She mentioned professional boxing. The noirette was always a fan of a variety of forms of martial arts, boxing being one of them. Unfortunately, he had never gotten around to taking any classes outside of the game. He was curious to know more about the woman, who had called herself Daniella, but conversation would need to wait. He had a duel to focus on.

"Ready when you are." Aoda told the man who would hopefully become his mentor. He had seen the man fight with his two previous opponents, but being in a battle would likely be a whole new experience for him. The only thing he'd ever fought was boars. It would be a challenge for sure.

  7. A sigh escaped the lad's mouth as he listened to the irritated man's response. "All this over a potion? How much will it cost you?" Aoda questioned, swiping his hand in front of him to open his menu. He was by no means rich, but he definitely had enough for a single potion, which was probably not nearly as much as the player made it seem. Pathetic was one word to sum up the situation. It was as if the grown male was having a temper tantrum or something.

    Unbelievable...

The girl's next statement proved that she was honest and willing to repay the man for her mistake, however Aoda wasn't interested in allowing her to do such a thing. "I'd like to pay for it, if that's alright with you. I don't see the need of taking col from a clearly innocent girl, who you've been needlessly yelling at." The lad frowned, part of him wanting to scold the stranger, while the other part wanted to stop speaking to the immature player completely. He wasn't fond of people who did things like this.

  8. Not gonna lie, I have no idea what cardfight vanguard is, but i'll check it out.

Anyways, welcome to the site. If you have any questions shoot either myself or another PST member a PM. Enjoy RPing fam

  9. The atmosphere, which had once been peaceful, quickly shifted as an angered voice emerged nearby. Aoda turned his head to face the player. He was about the same height as Aoda, but with brilliant, golden hair. It didn't take long for the player to realize what that the man was yelling at a seemingly innocent woman. The noirette hadn't yet ran into a situation like this before. Was he supposed to stop it or just let them handle it themselves?

Before he could even think up an answer, Aoda found himself walking towards the two players, unprepared but confident. "Maybe you should calm down a little." He interrupted, bringing the hood of his cloak down from over his head. "Not sure what it is you're so angry about, but is that any way to treat a woman?"

The words came out so fluently, but Aoda honestly had no idea what he was doing. He went on complete autopilot when confronting the man, drowning out any thought that told him to back out. No turning back now.

  10. (Rolled before even looking at hik's stealth.. rip)

"You two assumed correctly." Aoda began, "The note interested me. If you'd have me, I would love to stick around." The raven-haired individual recognized both the man and the hooded player from the wasp quest they had completed together. From what he could remember the mysterious girl hadn't appreciated his lack of... game sense at the time. Maybe it had at least improved a little since the last time they met. Aereth, however, seemed to be friendly towards him, in the way a mentor or teacher would be. This might have been the right decision after all.

"So I guess you're the Demon King then?" He inquired, a slight smirk forming on his face as he spoke to the more experienced man. Interesting choice for a title. Not that Aoda wasn't a fan of it. Had he known more about the player, he might have been able to decide whether it suited him or not.

Aoda wasn't sure what Aereth had planned for him. Was he going to duel the player, like the other two? He wasn't sure he'd be able to keep up with the swordsman, especially not alone. Of course, maybe the training would be different than the what had had seen previously. He'd need to be ready for a possible fight between one of the other players. Chances are, he'd be able to take on the girl who seemed to be as new as he was, but the hooded player would be just as big as a challenge as the man. This'll be tough, but I can't back down.

  11. Despite the rather frigid weather, the fourth floor seemed oddly calming to Aoda. He wore his old cloak given to him by Atzo, leader of the Emerald Harbingers. It still had the guild symbol on the back, although he had left the guild a short time prior to this evening. He only wore it because quite cold. Underneath was his basic cloth armor, which was truly in need of an upgrade. It kept him vulnerable while in combat. Not a good thing in a game where every fight meant life or death.

The moon illuminated the already dimly lit town, know to many as Snowfrost. Each snowflake was so visible, it was as if Aoda could count every one of them. As the noirette walked through the peaceful village, he pulled up the hood of his white coat, which had given him the title of the "Pearl Raven" in his previous guild. It was a name he liked, although he was unsure whether or not he deserved it. The lad hadn't actually done anything to earn a title of the sort. It was likely he'd leave it behind with the group of players.

Wandering through towns on the lower floors was something Aoda did quite often. Often enough that he was beginning to get bored of it. It was time for him to branch out, explore the outside regions of the frozen floor. He certainly believed it was full of things he hadn't seen before. The young man's only worry was the fact that some of the things out there could very possibly kill him with little to no effort at all.

"Well, fine by me." He spoke, moving forward towards the exit of the town, which would lead him into a terrain covered in snow and trees.

The note signed by the "Demon King" had posted had already been up for some time, enough for him to have already started whatever it is he had planned for whoever decided to show up. The noirette, however, thought it was worth checking out, in case the king had decided to wait around for more players. Or perhaps nobody had shown up yet and he wasn't at all late.

As he exited the safezone's gate, he equipped his curved sword. Aoda remembered that technically, the sword wasn't free and he still owed food to the bear cub who had been protecting it. Vague memories of it's haunting gaze would forever remain in the lad's mind. As he stepped through the plains, he decided he'd search the ground for anything he might be able to bring back to the cub, just so he'd stay on it's good side in case he ever needed to return to the smith for new items.

Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any materials around that he could give to the blacksmith's familiar. At least, there was nothing he could catch with his eye. "Maybe another time." He mumbled to himself, continuing in the direction of the forest.

Upon arriving, he noticed the fight between three players; two fairly skilled people, as well as a inexperienced individual, like himself.

It didn't seem like a fight to the death, like he had seen many of those before, so Aoda assumed it was where the self-proclaimed Demon King had begun the training. Appearing from behind the group, the dark-haired man began to speak. "Room for a fourth?"

  13. Slice

The boar pup exploded, causing a number of blue pixels to appear before him. The swordsman sighed as the after-battle notification popped up, showing what was dropped; absolutely nothing. It was a bit of an inconvenience, but he'd still have to fight three more boar pups. Definitely unlucky. Thankfully, the field was covered in the pests, so he wouldn't need to search far to find one. Maybe this time he'd get lucky.

"Power takes time to achieve, I suppose." He let out an annoyed sigh, of course not wanting to trouble himself with the task of killing the virtual animals. It was a pain, but he needed the quest rewards fairly badly. "I'll make this quick. I'd rather not stay longer than necessary." He mumbled to himself, knowing he had other quests that had to get down as well, some a bit tougher than the one he was currently doing.

  14. But how does one become stronger? A complicated question that Aoda could not answer himself. Perhaps he could find a mentor to help him, but he didn't know of anyone in particular who would be willing to do so. Suddenly, lost in thought, he realized the boar pup was in the middle of attacking him. Aoda was able to escape any incoming damage, but his retaliation was a complete miss. "Concentrate," He told himself, preparing a followup to the failed attempt at an attack.

He looked for any weaknesses the boar might have had. It was slow, for one, so he'd be able to dodge a majority of it's attacks while landing his own. And even if he was hit, the damage it would deal was minuscule compared to his own. Raising his curved sword, he stepped forward. The boar glared at him with it's small, red eyes, as if it were angered.
