  1. Humans are strange creatures, capable of the strangest things. Whether it be something truly innovative such as modern medicine and the internet, or something truly disgusting such as genocide or global warming, if they could find a way, they would make it happen. To Soredell, even in grave situations such as being trapped in the death game of Sword Art Online, where most sane player's focus was on clearing the game and getting out, it amazed him as to how people were capable, even considered celebrating events such as Christmas.

When he heard news of a Christmas party occurring on Floor 4, he had considered not going, and use the time to level up. But then, who knew when was the next time he would celebrate Christmas, assuming he lived to see the next. So here he was, on floor 4 at the designated meeting area. As he entered the building, he saw that it was decorated appropriate to the season. He also saw there was no one here . He didn't know how many people would come, then again, he hoped he wasn’t the only one. "Hello? Anyone home? I got the message about a Christmas party?" he says and awaits a response, making sure he's in the right place. He also acknowledges the husky’s existance but nothing more then that.

On his shoulder, his green psuedo-dragon Osiris continues to sleep peacefully, content on its current state and position. He had forgotten how long it has been since he had acquired Osiris, but in all that time, he still hasn't figured out an important aspect about his familiar: its gender.

    Red Queen - HP: -17/770 | DMG: 121 [DEAD]

Soredell watches once again as everyone in the party unleashes another salvo of attacks against the Red Queen, but to his shock, Beat's attack fails to hit, leaving the Red Queen with not only a sliver of health left, but an open guard. This was his chance, this was one opportunity he would not pass up. "Alright Teion, guess that final hit is all yours. Make it count!" Defying Beat's words, he rushes forward, his katana in his hands, towards the Red Queen, completely disregarding his own safety. "She's mine!".

Time seems to slow down around Soredell, his focus on nothing but the Red Queen. She attempts to strike at Soredell but her attack completely misses. Jumping up, he activates his tried and true sword art Gen Getsu, and slashes at the queen's head. He lands with a roll, before muttering "Death to the queen." as he sheaths his katana, the queen's head plummeting to the ground, pixelated blood streaming from the stump for a moment, before exploding into a cloud of pixels, the Red Queen now dead.

It's at this moment that the adrenaline finally subsides, and Soredell realizes what he just did. "I... I got a kill. I GOT A KILL!" he cheers. He doesn't care how loud he is, or even the loot he gets, he's just too happy celebrating this moment to care.

"If you guys are more than happy to carry me then I guess I can't complain. Hopefully it won't be too much longer until I can finally go solo for real. At least that way I'm not burdening others, with people having to carry me, wait on me, that kind of stuff." he says. Not one word that he said was a lie. At some point, he did intend to go solo, and he certainly didn't want to be burdening others with having to carry him.

Eventually they arrived in what Soredell could only assume was the boss room. He could also see this dungeon's boss, the <<Red Queen>>, keeping in theme with the rest of this dungeon. This boss must've been the queen of the hive. Kill the queen and the whole hive should die. And you get rewards for it. Letting everyone make their own attacks and actions against the boss, Soredell was up next, dashing up to the boss and taking a swipe, only to hear an audible *chink* as opposed to hearing the familiar slash. Looking back, he noticed he did nothing to the boss. This boss was clearly beyond his ability, and it was close to dying anyway, so the best option was to fall back. "I can't deal any damage to that thing, it must be too high level for me. Someone finish this queen off quickly." he communicates to the rest of the party.

  4. Thankfully Soredell doesn't have to do anymore this round, with Beat finishing off the rest of the ants with a single kick with ease, their bodies being knocked back into the air before exploding into a flurry cloud of red pixels, disappearing forever. "To easy." he says, sheathing his sword. "Although honestly, I probably don't have the right to say that considering I did jack all, just like every other combat encounter." he says, a tone of bitterness laced in what he said.

Soredell scans the room around him for anything else that may pop up out of nowhere and attack. It wouldn't be the first time. Thankfully nothing comes out at the group, giving him a moment to breathe. Soredell takes this time to stretch out his muscles, stretching his arms and legs. "I don't know why but I feel so rusty, like I feel like I haven't done much for a long time. Anyone else getting that feeling or is it just me?" he says, finishing his stretches. "Alright, how many more do we have to go through until we finish this dungeon?" he asks the other.

Soredell followed the others as they continued their little adventure through this Labyrinth. He took up the flank of the group. In hindsight it may not have been the best idea since they could be ambushed and he is the weakest in the group. However, he had buffed up his evasion, and it helped that he was naturally fast. He could (hopefully) easily maneuver out of the way, which would be more than enough time for the others to notice and wreck havoc on whatever tried to mess with the group. He didn't have to worry about being ambushed from behind, as a squad of ants made the first move, attacking Shield. After he was done drawing their attention and aggro, he let the others move in first for their own attacks, following close behind. While Teion and Beat maneuvered around Shield to get within striking range of the ants, Soredell decided to get creative, running straight towards a nearby wall, before jumping onto it and propelling off it, and unleashing the familiar sword art Gen Getsu on one of the ants before hopping back behind Shield and out of striking range of the ants.

    Familiar Type: Pseudodragon
    Tier: 1

Description: Osiris is a small, green dragon with teal eyes and tan horns & spikes. Its size allows it to rest itself on Soredell's shoulder whenever it isn't assisting him in combat. In terms of the dragon's behaviour, it is very attached to its owner Soredell, almost to the point where it is territorial. Even in general it is quite territorial and will quickly mark out what belongs to it. It also requires a lot of feeding to keep it quiet, until it starts growling, not stopping until its needs are met. Despite this, it is a loyal companion to Soredell and will assist him to the best of its ability. Now if only Soredell could figure out its gender..

  7. Soredell was long ready by the time @Shield gave the group the signal to continue on with their journey. That would probably be because they all had higher energy reserves than he did, and took longer to refill a larger pool. As if Kayaba could measure one's energy in a numerical sense. But then again, that should really be the last thing on his mind, figuring out the logistics of measuring one's energy or well-being with numbers. "Sweet. I'm good to go as long as you guys are." he says to the group, although he has no doubt in his mind that the group is ready for whatever may come next. For now though, their main mission was finding a way out of this dungeon. As far as he knew though, using a teleportation crystal, which he had none of, or defeating the boss at the end of this dungeon were the only two ways out. He briefly wondered if it was possible to simply leave the dungeon if you had simply dropped into it instead of entering it properly. If he could, that could make for some helpful but potentially dangerous grinding.

    LD: 18 + 3 [Enhancemet] + 3 [Food] = 24 (THE FAMILIAR IS NOW MINE!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA)

Soredell continues to walk through the forest leading the group, responding to everyone as necessary. He nods his head at @Yuurei turning down his offer for assistance. He wouldn't have minded either way honestly. “That's quite fine. If you ever find yourself tackling a quest and you need assistance, don't hesitate to send me a message, and I'll be there to help.” he says to her. Turning to @Piera and by extension @Lee, he nods his head in agreement to the former's comment about quests. "Both 'idle' and 'combat' quests do grant rewards, but combat quests, the ones that really push your ability and luck, they're the ones that give more rewards."

It doesn't take much longer until Soredell manages to hear some suspicious rustling a few feet away from him, and silently motions for the others to stop for a moment, and stay quiet, lest they scare the creature away. Soon, a small creature emerges from the branches nearby. Its features are very reminiscent to that of a dragon, only much smaller, capable of resting on Soredell's shoulder. Taking out some feed he acquired from an old hag not too long ago, who had actually informed him about the presence of familiars and the subsequent quest, he slowly extended it out to the dragon, or rather the psuedodragon. The small green dragon looks at the piece inquisitively, before taking a small bit out of it. Soredell holds his breath as he waits for the creature's verdict, the whole forest around them seemingly silencing itself in anticipation for what could happen next. The dragon then takes the whole thing and eats it, before crawling up Soredell's arm and resting on his shoulder. Soredell lets out a long exhale and smiles, albeit its hidden under his 'mask', and turns to his compatriots. "I got my familiar now, I think. Thank you guys for helping me out with this. Let's head back now." he says, beginning to lead the group back to town.

  9. "Huh? Wait, what noise?" he asks, curious as to what this 'noise' that @Teion was referring to was. He tries to listen out for any further sounds, but all he can hear is the ambient jungle SFX as well as the BGM quietly playing in forests. In short, nothing really out of place, and certainly nothing that would warrant suspicion or question. Just in case, he keeps one hand firmly on the hilt of his katana, just in case some creature does pop up and try to attack the group. "I'm fine with either, but I think it'd be better that we continue looking for the sloth, which is our main objective, as opposed to searching out for the source of this noise that you heard. We can always make a note of it and come back later, but I think we should just be here for the sloth. I don't think some background noise would warrant much attention or investigation from us anyway. Either way, the choice is yours Teion." he says to her.

  10. Soredell watches his HUD closely, watching the energy bar slowly continue to fill until finally it's completely filled, indicating that he's ready to go again. He definitely feels a bit more energized than before, which will be good for when the group faces more mobs down the line. He continues to quietly listen to the conversation currently going on between both Teion and Beat, his eyes occasionally shifting over to @Shield, silently pacing around the room. Maybe he was checking to make sure the area they were in was secure and wasn't in any danger of surprise ant swarm attacks? Maybe he was just thinking about something and he just paced when deep in thought? Maybe he was just thinking too deeply about it, shaking his head to disperse these needless thoughts of his. He continues to listen to the two make small talk, thinking to himself what a good build for him would be. Perhaps a glass-cannon/scouting build? That'd be a role he could see himself fitting into.

Soredell watches as everyone else makes their own respective actions against the <<Diamond Juggernaut>>, confidence growing as its health bar continues to drop closer and closer to 0, dropping to about 35%. He watches as Beat makes yet another swing at the crystalline body if the golem, confident it'll mean the end of this boss, and the end of this dungeon crawl, but to who surprise, and despite the force and power of his swing, it does nothing. Its body and health bar remain unmoved. "Alright, try this!" he hisses as he charges the golem and makes a slash at its legs in an attempt to bring its body and health down. Looking back, he sees that like before, the body and the HP gauge remain unmoved, the golem seemingly absorbing all of their attacks. "I thought this was going to be easy! We should've done something to it!" he cries out to the others.

Soredell took one last deep breath as the doors into the boss room swung open, almost pulling the players in. Soredell follows the others into the final room as the doors close behind them. Soredell has to squint to try and look for the boss in this dark room, whatever it may be. But only through Shield triggering the boss does he see what they're up against, a giant crystal golem. It certainly looks to be a formidable foe, but it is nothing against Beat's attack, with a single kick knocking down close to half of its health already. This was supposed to be a final boss? It looked more like another mob that they group had faced on their way here. Needless to say, Soredell was slightly disappointed at this dungeon boss. No matter, it just made their lives easier in the end. "You aren't so tough you big overrated hunk of crystal. Lets see how you take this!" he yells out as he unleashes his best available sword skill on the mob: Gen Getsu. It does a little less damage than expected, but considering this was a dungeon boss, he figured that there would be some challenge for him. Either way, he'd knocked the boss' health past the half way mark. Another hit or two would mean the end of this boss.

Soredell lets his breathing become less ragged and slows down, enough so it no longer sounds like he's panting like a dog, but just breathing heavily. He watches the corner of his HUD where his health and energy indicators were, watching the energy bar slowly fill itself back up. He'd need all the energy he could get if he wanted to get to the end of the dungeon alive, and still be useful among higher leveled players like @Shield, Teion and Beat. He gets up slowly and leans back against the cave wall, watching the others. Shield and Teion seem to have found some higher tier crafting materials during their break, but looking around, Soredell fails to find anything that looks remotely useful or usable. He keeps quiet as he rests and simply chooses to listen in to the conversation that Beat seems to be trying to start while they rest and wait.

Soredell nodded his head in agreement to @Yuurei's statement about Shield. He had been in enough adventures with the tank to know that he would be the best person to talk to in-game if lower level players like himself and Yuurei needed a carry. "Yeah, talk to Shield and Beat. Those two are really good and helpful, and I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping you find your own familiar. And if you need it, I'd be more than willing to assist you as well. Just say the word and I'll be there." he promises her.

As they continue to walk, he says to @Piera "Yeah, I heard it was really hard for players to find a familiar, mainly because it took forever for them to do so. I would personally prefer not to keep myself, and you all here for too long, taking forever to look for a suitable familiar, so that's why I wanted to improve my chances as much as possible, using enhancements. Like you said, better safe than sorry here in SAO." he says as they continue to walk. As she says something about looking responsible, he gives a playful eye-roll at her comment, before noticing a crafting material on the ground. He picks up the material and sends it to his inventory for later use before continuing on their search, keeping his eyes peeled for this elusive dragon.

  15. Soredell stood up as the gates into the final room slowly began to swing open. He pulled his katana out of its sheathe and readied himself, stretching for a moment before stretching out his fingers with a satisfying crack that quietly echoed throughout the room. "Ahhh..." he mumbled at the satisfying crack before straightening himself as the doors swung further apart. Giving his sword a little flourish by swinging it around, he says "Lets kick this mob's ass guys! We got this easy!" he cheers, perhaps a little overconfident on his part. He gives @Anemone, Shield and Beat his own thumbs up trying to raise their confidence as much as he could. Any confidence or morale boost within the group would be much needed for a fight where their lives are on the line, and since there are less people to rely on compared to boss raids or events where there were scores or players around, everyone here would need to rely on each other if they wanted to live to see the end of this fight.

  16. @Shield

Soredell pants heavily as he watches the ants get decimated through the combined efforts of the party, namely Beat, the main DPS for the group, smashing the swarms to tiny shards of light, evaporating into nothing, never to be seen again. At least until they respawn in a few minutes. He sheathes his sword and collapses to the ground, exhausted at the combat. He looks over to his energy bar, watching it slowly begin to fill up again. All he could really do now is wait and rest until he and everyone else had rested up, replenished their energy, and was ready to continue their quest through this dungeon, bar far his least favorite. "How about we rest here... for a few... minutes... or more..." he says to the group between ragged breaths. He'd never been an athletic person, needing good long rests between strenuous physical activity in the real world. Sword Art Online had certainly pushed the limits of Soredell's abilities just for the sake of survival.

    Soredell: Rest 1/3 turns

  17. Soredell continued to follow the group as they walked through the forest, keeping an eye out for anything interesting, anything like say, a sloth or some nice materials for him to use later should he need it for buying or crafting weapons, armor or consumables. Nothing really seems to catch his eye. His focus returns back to the conversation at hand, about the realm of possibility when it came to the kinds of familiars one could tame. Beatbox gave his own input already, so he only felt as though it was fair that he puts in his own input. "Well, I'm not too sure as to the limits of what can or can't be tamed in Sword Art Online. The game seems to follow the fantasy genre, so things like wolves, dogs, tigers, birds, dragons, those kinds of things can be tamed easily. I wouldn't think that Kayaba would allow players to tame humanoid creatures or those with intelligence comparable to humans; say for example the elves on Floor 3 that I hear about." he says. "Just how much longer until we find this sloth? Its an immobile creature so we should really see it just lying on a tree somewhere assuming it is on this floor." he groans.

Before the boar could do anything, it is overtaken by red, succumbing to the bleed effect and shattering into a series of shards before a pop-up menu appears before him rewarding him with some crafting materials for his kill. He doesn't have time for that right now, waving away the pop-up and charging the panther this time, attempting to attack the panther. The panther sees this coming, and easily dodges out of the way of his incoming attack. Soredell moves back to a safer position with his weapon at the ready still, not wanting to be within striking distance of the tiger. "I think you're more than capable of taking this kill. Soredell had been strolling through the fields of floor 1 when he had noticed a player in the middle of combat against a panther and a boar. He didn't intervene just yet, wanting to analyse the situation first. He studied the player, his actions, his gear. From his estimations by looking at the quality of his gear, he had to guess that this player was around his level. The way he moved and dodged looked like he was just having some fun, playing a very dangerous dance with a panther and a boar, making sure they didn't 'step on his toes' so to speak. He seemed cocky whenever they couldn't land an attack, but gained a sense of seriousness whenever he went in for an attack. "sigh. Alright, fun's over." he mutters to himself as he begins to approach the trio. As he draws closer, his speed increases too, until he is sprinting towards the boar. Pulling out his sword, it glows indicating the imminent use of a sword art. With a swift slash, he knocks down the boar onto the ground. It gets back up, but stumbles as a prominent red stream of pixels emerges from its 'wound', indicating the much loved 'bleed' effect had kicked in. Not taking his eyes off the mobs, he says "Don't get too cocky kid. Let's hurry up and take these things down." he says, before moving into a more defensive stance.

  20. Soredell sits himself atop a boulder while the rest of the group take a moment to rest. Although he's fully rested and ready for the final confrontation against this dungeon boss, and for all the sweet loot they'll get as a result, he knows the main damage dealer and tank, Beat and Shield respectively need to prepare themselves. He then silently looks over to @Anemone. If these dungeon bosses were tough, they would be dealing some serious damage, damage that even mitigation won't be able to stop, which would make her a valuable addition to the party. He looks over to the others as they talk. "I gotta ask, who's this 'Rain' you mentioned? Were they a friend of yours, in the same guild as you guys or something, or perhaps just part of a PuG that he carried?" he asks, curious as to hear their story of their time in lower levels.

  21. Soredell looked at Teion as she spoke, waiting on her answer. Unfortunately for the time being he would need to wait on that answer, as a new swarm of ants emerged, forming themselves into larger constructs of a shining ants. At the sight of these damned mobs, Soredell felt his heart had traveled up to his throat. "Oh come on, NOT AGAIN! I thought I was done with you creepy mobs!" he cries out, not happy to see these creepy things again. He feels his back cringe as he watches the others fight, @Shield, Beat and Teion, and knows its his turn, although this is one combat encounter that he is not thrilled to be taking part in. Steeling his nerves and resolve, he charges at the first swarm with all the courage and anger he can muster, giving a ferocious yell as he cuts right through the swarm, many of its smaller inhabitants making up the structure turning into blue shards and evaporating, others pouring out, their colour going a pixellated red, indicating a reset in the established bleed effect. Hopping back, he checks his energy, and its low. He estimates he only has enough energy for one more powerful sword art before he's out. "I'm low on energy, we need to finish this now!" he calls out to the others.

Soredell looked back behind him on the stumble he heard behind him, noticing that Piera must have been the one that had nearly ended up eating grass. "You alright there?" he asks, worried. Making sure everyone was still good he continues forward looking around. "Oh uh, I don't actually don't have the tracking skill, all I have to help me are consumables and equipment. In hindsight that would actually be really helpful right now..." he says, muttering the last part. They've only just started their little adventure just now but it feels like that its been going for weeks now. "The psuedo-dragon I'm searching for was coloured green, but I'm sure there are other colour variants if I look hard enough. As for a name, I got nothing on that so far, but I'm sure I'll think of one." he says. He perks up at @Yuurei's comment about finding her own familiar. "A wisp eh? I'm not sure if such a mob exists in the game, much less one is available to tame, but if it does exist, you'd certainly be unique in your familiar. Perhaps try checking out Floor 10? You may find something on the Underworld inspired floor?" he says to her as the group continues to walk.

Soredell: [220/220 HP] Rest: 1/3 turns

Soredell watched as Teion dealt with the last of the swarm, watching as the swarms, or what was left of them fell apart and evaporated in a flash of light. "Nice kill, got any good loot?" he asks her, curious as to hearing her finds from her hard earned kill. He glances over at his HUD, seeing his status. HP wise he's sitting nice and comfortable in the green, but his energy was a different story, with it being just over half. He wasn't sure whether or not he should try and get the others to rest for a few minutes or if he should just press on. He switches out his rings, swapping out <<Sin of Greed>> for <<Hunter's Vestige>>, seeing as though he really wasn't helping in combat right now. "My energy is at maybe just over half right now. I don't mind either way on whether we take a rest or not." he says to the group.

    @Shield

  24. Soredell gets up from his temporary resting spot and follows the others, agreeing with @Anemone's sentiment about moving to a cooler location temperature-wise. The familiar chime that would have come with the ring finding any sort of materials during their ventures would not come, seeing as Soredell had swapped out <<Sin of Greed>> for <<Hunter's Vestige>>, now giving him a much more helpful bonus to his attacks, as well as giving him an opportunity to begin testing out the effectiveness of his planned 'glass-cannon' build. He had no intention of searching for materials without his other ring, but he wasn't concerned with getting the materials right now, or getting his other ring out after he just made the switch.

As they walked, he realized that even though they needed to rest and get their energy, they weren't actually 'resting'. He deliberated on whether or not to say anything about the matter, but they all seemed to be so invested in their own discussions on builds and materials that they've gathered that he thought the better of it and kept quiet.
