  1. Hokori was having a hard time keeping everyone going, but the battle was turning more in their favor. Though her strikes weren't hitting, she was doing her best to make sure that it was not able to close in that well with the others. Her sword art didn't connect, but managed to pop thee creature into the air for Arabelle to have an open swing at it. It's health bar was in the yellow now, so it was quite possible that they could finish this off much quicker than she initially guessed. That should mean no one would need to retreat. A few hits from Arabelle and perhaps one or two more bleeds from Prometheus should be enough to finish it off. Only a few more tries to hit. They hadn't taken any hits, so hopefully the boss couldn't actually hit that hard. If it did, she might need to be usherin gpeople out to avoid getting hurt too much more.

  2. This fight was going a bit better, thanks to Arabelle landing a hit. Now that she knew how good of a hit she could land, that meant this fight should go a lot faster. There was definitely some begrudging comments towards her, but at the very least, it seemed to be helping a little bit. Symphony and Prometheus started flirting, which gave her the opportunity to try and draw away the creature's attention. As she was doing so, she heard Arabelle mumble under her breath. Cutting her blade to get the AI to reactionary jump away from the flirting pair, she gave a quick response. "One who everyone runs away from." It was the best response she could fit in the time, but it was honest. Sure she had weaknesses, but everyone did at any given time. Though they may not be apparent to those far below their level, she would be willing to bet each front liner had their own weakness that would have to be covered. But it didn't matter how weak you were, if you could cover your weakness with strategy, anyone could prevail.

  3. This fight was going nowhere fast, but that was ok. Prometheus's comments were already starting to grate on her a little bit. She had encountered a few people like him while she as studying abroad. Always stubborn until they finally met their match, then came begging for help. "First off, I doubt that it understands you, you may as well scream compliments at it. And if you want me to get its attention you're going to have to back off for a little bit. Those critical hits of yours are what we're looking for with this fight, but its bringing all the hate to you. I don't have the howl skill yet, so I can't grab its attention with that." As she was speaking, she swung her sword, keeping the creature down for a little while longer with an additional paralyze effect. "Arabelle, step back a bit and calm your nerves if you need to. I'd rather you swinging less if it means you can hit more. Symphony, try not to grab too much attention and call out any abnormal patterns that you're seeing." Hopefully they would listen to her commands. It was going to be the best that they could do, but it likely wouldn't be worth too much if one of them started to deviate.

  4. This fight was going downhill fast. It was going to be a war of attrition already, and they were barely starting it. The only thing going for them was that they were currently keeping it down with paralyzes. Hopefully that would keep for a while longer. If only I had the howl skill, I'd actually be able to get the creature's attention and make sure it doesn't start hurting others. Noting Prometheus's stubbornness to follow her, she debated arguing with him. Ultimately, she decided that this was not the time for her to be doing so. Instead, she stayed back a little bit to survey the field. The creature was down maybe a fifth of its health points and they were already going to be running out of energy. Symhpony was doing a little bit of damage, and she didn't know how well Arabelle would be able to hit, but they were likely to be reliant on Prometheus's bleed effect. That meant at the moment they had to prioritize keeping him in the fight as long as  they could so his bleed could keep going. Everyone else would have to rotate in and out of the fight as needed. They might not go so long that that would happen, but better to think of contingencies now rather than wait for them to start dying.

  5. It wasn't long before Symphony's familiar was able to find the enemy and they began to fight it. Hokori was hoping it would be a bit weaker, but that didn't seem to be the case. As it was, this was going to be a fairly long fight. Hopefully she could hold out against the creature for long enough without taking too much. "I have thorns enhancement on me as well as quite a bit of healing, if possible try to make sure that I keep its attention. We're going to be in a war of attrition, so if anyone has to back out of combat for a bit in order to get energy or health regeneration make sure to call it out before you start retreating!" She seemed to be the highest level player here, or at least no one else seemed to be taking charge. This was going to be hard, but if she could keep them going, it should all be fine in the end.

  6. ((I'll start searching for the boss on my next post, others feel free to start searching as well))

The woman had called out to Hokori, and it took a little bit before she realized who it was. It was the woman who was promising, though also terrifyingly close to going over an edge of morality. "Sure, but I'm not waiting up on the two..." The other girl introduced herself, "the three of you. I probably will have to be taking my time with the fight anyways, so I'd like to get an early start on it before other players might show up." With that, she sent a request to join party and made her way towards where she was fairly certain the boss was going to be. "Should be this way, keep your eyes peeled." She didn't feel in the mood for sentiment. This was a time she was going to be showing her colors a bit more than normal. This wasn't just helping out new players or doing the easy quests, this was reality now. Time to focus and get it done.

  7. Hokori had made her way back down to the first floor. After a trip to the frigid fourth floor, she realized that she was not that prepared for the times ahead of her. Seeing a notification for a special event, she figured it would probably be a s good a time as any to return to the first floor and try to make her way through it as quickly as she could. Hopefully she would have enough damage to take the thing on on her own, but maybe she would find others hunting it down and they could take it on together. There wasn't much in terms of intel for the creature, as it was just a temporary event, but she had a feeling her evasion was going to be of little use for a bit. So instead she decided to place her half-plate over her black lacquered leather armor. It was a bit uncomfortable and not the most well-fitting of armors, but it seemed to do the trick.

As she was passing by the boundary of the town, she noticed a couple of people chatting it up just past the exit. It seemed they were decently powerful and had likely already done most of the quests on this floor. That meant they were also here for the Easter event. "If the two of you stand there chatting all day, you'll likely miss the boss, " she quipped as she passed the two of them. She started to make her way down the road, confident in her ability to take this boss down, and at the very least she was fairly certain that she would be able to make her way out of the fight if necessary.

  8. Hokori nodded towards the boy after the beat had been finished off. Thankfully, it was not nearly as close of a fight as they had made it seem to be. As she took the item, she nodded her own thanks, a little out of breath from running around a monster and trying to avoid it constantly. After catching her breath, she started to make her way out of the cave. "Not a problem. Looks like you've got yourself a story and we've got ourselves some experience. Perhaps we'll see each other around again. Unless your optimism gets you killed before we would cross paths again." She couldn't resist the slight jab towards him. She meant no offense, but she did know that they had very different views of this world. He may think everything can go fine if you just practice hard enough, but she knew that death was inevitable, all you could do was to try to minimize it.

  9. Though two more boar pups came towards Symphony, she reassured Hokori that things would be fine. Trusting her as such, she leaned on a tree to watch the fight unfold. Of course, as soon as Symphony tried to attack, she ended up getting her dagger stuck in a tree. Stifling a laugh at the sight, Hokori made her way over to the tree and quickly and cleanly cut it into two. The tree shattered, freeing the dagger for symphony to continue wielding. "Don't look right at the superficial point you wish to strike. You have to make sure you follow all the way through the targets body. You need to think three feet past the boar with your thrust, otherwise you'll never put enough force to do more than scratch it." Backing off once more, Hokori hoped that the woman had taken her advice seriously enough and waited to see if she could get the job done. There was no guarantee it would connect, but the least she could do was help them out.
