  1. As Alec tapped the loot drop icon that appeared in front of him not caring the slightest what it said. He looked around him and thought how stupid and pointless it all was. There was no purpose here no rhyme no reason. It was nothing and mattered nothing. Why should it? It was all digital all ones and zeros. The grass wasn’t real, the sky wasn’t real, non of it was real. The thought disgusted Alec and made him scowl all the deeper. He couldn’t stand things with no point. Everything needed a purpose and a function. If not it was worthless and that’s what this place was worthless, stupid, fake. He hated it. He hated Aincrad and Sword Art Online and that idiot who had created it whatever his name was Kiaba or something like that. What ever again it didn’t matter. ALec reached out and tapped the icon and turned to walk away before the loot items could even post. “Who cares?” he thought.

  2. Alec glared at the last Boar Pup with utter contempt and disdain. “I despise you!” he spat at the Boar Pup. He had never really and truly hated anything in his entire life. Disliked sure, abhorred absolutely. Intolerance, prejudice, bigotry all on his list no he had one more thing and it topped them all. This game he HATED Sword Art Online he despised Aincrad and everything about it. If that’s what it took to succeed he would do it. What ever it took to get out of here and back to his family. “DIE USELESS VERMIN!!” Alec bellowed at the top of his lungs as he raised his Battle Axe above his head with a complete lack of interest in anything at all. His face became the embodiment of disdain and apathy. He cared nothing for this creature, he cared nothing for this world, he cared nothing for anyone or anything inside it. Alec was a void of emotion he had a care for nothing and no one as he raised his axe over his head and let it fall with nothing even coming close to a care about the result of his actions

Alec's Battle Axe fell with a complete lack of care behind it. It could hit or miss or fly to the moon. It mattered not to Alec. As it smashed into and through the Boar Pup Alec felt nothing. He was nothing, the Boar Pup as it split in two and exploded in a shower of red pixels and then wavered and disappeared was nothing. Nothing mattered here because it wasn't real Alec reminded himself. He had wavered in his convictions as he'd allowed himself to become engrossed and enmeshed with his false surroundings. He had allowed himself to enjoy and fallen victim to the trap that was this place. If you allowed yourself to care and enjoy and feel that game had you. you were truly trapped you belonged to it. If you didn't care you were free to fly. "There was no spoon there was no Aincrad, there was no reality here. Just a game a stupid game he was trapped in that he would smash to bits!" With that Alec looked to the banner and cared not one iota if the Boar Pup's Tusks were dropped from these inconsequential programs or not.

  3. So after not even trying at all to hit the Boar Pup Alec had actually made contact with one. It was mind boggling and baffling how that had happened. Alec decided to try an experiment. He as going to do the same thing again. Alec thought to himself how wonderful it would be farming and growing vegetables and then sitting down all the Front Line Players at a giant farm style bench table and dishing them all up huge heaping plates of vegetables and feeding them. Telling them in a high pitched squeaky voice how they had to finish all their vegetables on their plates if they wanted to grow up big and strong and that no they could not go out and play with their Boss friends and clear  other levels until all their plates were cleaned of all their vegetables. Alec shook his head at the irony of the whole situation and raised hid Battle Axe again to the sky and brought it down without really a care in the world where it struck.

Seriously thought Alec as his Battle Axe fell like some sort of crazed bird of prey and bit deeply into one of the last two Boar Pups. In fact the Battle Axe hit so hard and true that the crescent blade separated the Boar Pup into two pieces and caused a large shower of red pixels to explode into the air and rain down as the Boar Pup shattered and disappeared. That's the trick to this game Alec thought bitterly. You have to not care at all about what happens to succeed? The thought brought the scowl back to Alec's face that he had worn for so long since being here. But no he had a reason to hate being here. Hard work, effort and diligence didn't pay off here?!? Apathy and a complete lack of interest and carrying what caused you to succeed?!? The other Boar Pup took the chance opened by the miss to jet in and crash itself into Alec's Breastplate causing more bruising to Alec's chest.

  4. And once again Alec used his Battle Axe as a common gardening trowel. He really was getting pretty good and loosening up the soil and making it soft and fine for planting of seeds. Maybe he should look into the game index and see if there was a Farmer class he had some Col he was sure he should have enough for a class transfer if the game even offered something like that Alec the level 100 Farmer!!! Oh the wonderful vegetables he’s grow! No one could complete with his vegetables with as soft and finely broken up as he could make the ground around him. He’d eventually earn enough to buy a little farm house right here and he’d feed the Front Line Players the freshest most nutrient rich vegetables. That’s how he’d help clear the game he’d keep the Assault Team fed with healthy nutrient rich vegetables Alec thought. Well Id better get back to work Alec thought. This soil won’t till itself. With that Alec raised his Battle Axe above his head and brought it down not really caring where or what it hit at this point.

Alec was actually shocked when his Battle Axe struck the Boar Pup. He hadn't really ben trying to hit anything to tell the truth. Alec knew better than to get excited over the hit he did score one every now and then. A slash opened up in the side of the Boar Pup and more red pixels streamed from the opening and Alec saw the Boar Pup's life bar dip into the red and start flashing angrily. But, Alec swore as he actually hit the Boar Pup because he hadn't even been trying and if that was the key to success in this game, he may just get mad and thought did not appeal to him in any way. The Boar Pup was so caught off guard by the lucky hit from Alec that when it dove to gore him with its tusks it jumped too short and landed just shy of making contact with Alec. The second Boar Pup tried to slash Alec with its tusks but due to the constant shifting of the fight missed connecting with his leg.

  5. After yet another unsuccessful attempt to strike one of the last two remaining Boar Pups Alec began to wonder if in fact he was supposed to be trying to kill them. Was there another way to solve this riddle? Could he perhaps talk to the Boar Pups? They were like Boars back home of wild pigs so, no, talking probably wouldn’t do any good. How else could he try and attain the tusks. They were young and maturing so it’s not like they could be found on the ground like deer antlers and the like. No, Alec thought there seemed to only be one way to get the tusks he needed. He needed to find out how to hit this tiny wiggly lil piggies. Argh but they were ire raising! Oh well here goes again Alec thought raising his Battle Axe once more. As he did so he was graced with a mental image of him in his sixties still raising and felling his axe at these same Boar Pups who were now old fat and nearly dead full grown pigs lying on their sides and still Alec missed hitting them. Would he never complete this quest?

Alec again raised and chopped his axe down at a Boar Pup and again his axe sank deeply into the rich fresh turned soil. He was Alec was a farmer in this game not a fighter! Why hadn't he seen it earlier? Just because he had chosen heavy armor an axe and the Tank background, that didn't mean he was meant to fight. He it appeared was meant to dig up the ground so others could plant seeds within it and grow vegetables. Meanwhile while Alec was contemplating his new life goals and asperations here with Aincrad the Boar Pup he'd been waving his axe near ran towards him and drove its tusks into his hip just below his armor. The tiny tusks again made needle sized holes in his body which again leaked out more red pixels and dropped his life bar another point. thank the stars Alec thought when it occurred to him that he would be dead now many times over were it not for the Reinforced Heavy Iron Armor he was wearing and its Mitigation ranking!! Was his armor saving his life or merely prolonging the inevitable Alec thought. Who knows? Only time will tell. The other Boar Pup got so confused in the turmoil of the melee that it tripped over its own hooves and ended up in a jumbled pile on the ground.

  6. Alec chuckled at the Boar Pup and it's humourous antics. "I feel your pain compadre." Alec stated to the Boar Pup. "I too am suffering from a lack of success." Taking a deep breath Alec again yanked his Battle Axe from where it had deeply buried itself in the now soft and turned soil. "If only I had some seeds." Alec mused. "I'd better you could grow a very nice plant here in this spot. The soil right now looks as soft as velvet right now due to all the turning and tilling it's getting. I'll remember this spot and plant something here if I should survive that long." Alec thought. With that Alec again pulled his Battle Axe free of the soft fresh turned earth and lifted it skyward. He let out a silent prayer for strength and serenity but mostly aim, please Lord guide my arm and guide my axe to strike swift and true. With that he brought down his axe in a wide looping arc that look similar to a golf swing with a Battle Axe. The crescent shaped blade of the axe swung lazily down toward the Boar Pup. Alec hoped and prayed for a hit.

Alec's lazy looping arc of a swing lazily and loopily missed the Boar Pup completely. Alec was beginning to wonder if it was the Battle Axe, himself or the Boar Pups. One was making this whole process much more difficult than he felt it needed to be. Alec wasn't sure but he knew something was not right. The other Boar Pup attempted to slash Alec but missed due to all the confusion of the fight.

  7. Alec allowed himself a moment to revel in the excitement of finally dispatching one of the three Boar Pups. He only had two more to defeat before hopefully being awarded with the last Boar Pup Tusk he needed to complete his quest for Lyle Tealeaf. His moment of joy washed over him as he took another breath to calm himself and focus his attention at the creatures he was fighting. These Boar Pups had proven to be very hard to hit that was for sure but Alec had never been one to run away fr a difficult situation no matter how challenging it proved to be and this one was proving to be one of the most challenging endeavors in his entire life. Alec slid his feet apart ever so slightly. He bent his knees and shifted his weight in preparation to swing. Once he had locked his sights on the next Boar Pup he intended to hit he raised his Battle Axe over his head and brought it down towards his target.

Alec brought his Battle Axe down in a powerful sweep but at the last instant before he connected his nose was tickled by all the dust he had turned up and loosed into to air due to the shear number if times he'd buried his axe blade into the dirt and then wrenched it free. The dust tickled his nose and caused him to sneeze once again missing the Boar Pup and again burying his axe blade into the dirt and turning it up even more. The Boar Pup charged forward as it too was about to strike it pulled up short shook it's head violently from side to side inhaled deeply and then let out the cutest little piglet sneeze imaginable that was so forcefully to it's little body that the Boar Pup tipped over and was forced to pick itself up from the ground. The other Boar Pup took the chance caused by the distraction and jetted in to tear a small piece out of Alec's leg.

  8. Alec was engaged in what could only be considered one of the most epic battles of all time as he took another step to adjust his footing and set his balance to swing his Battle Axe again at his most egregious of does the mighty and of so elusive Boar Pup! Alec raised his Battle Axe above his shoulder when his feet and balance felt right. He stared down at the tiny Boar Pup with it's small snuffly snout and tiny needle sharp tusks and thin layer of coarse hair on its back. If all the mobs in this game were as tough as these first creatures Alec had encountered he developed a new level of respect for the Front Line fighters clearing Bosses. Alec couldn't even imagine what one of those fights was like if this was his hard it was to defeat a tutorial level quest mob on the First Floor. There were 99 more increasingly difficult floors to follow. Those Front Lines Players must be God like in their power and abilities if these First Floor mobs were do hard to defeat. Alec heaved another breath and lifted his axe high in the air and brought it down toward his next target.

"Success!" thought Alec! "One down and now two more to go!" Alec brought his Battle Axe to bear and prepared for his next target. The next Boar Pup dashed in and slashed Alec again with its tiny tusks where as the last Boar Pup lagged behind and was unable to damage Alec.

  9. Alec took yet another calming breath to center himself. He stared at the Boar Pups with a renewed sense of admiration. "You I believe are my all time arch nemesis of this game." Alec proclaimed to the three Boar Pups. "No matter what comes after you. You may just be my crowning achievement should I ever be able to best you. You have proven to be a wiley, cunning and worthy adversary and I salute you!" Alec announced loudly, momentarily raising his Battle Axe in the way he had seen done numerous times in numerous gladiator movies he had watched throughout his life as one gladiator did to salute a worthy for. "Now have at the!" Alec cried at the top of his lungs as his axe was raised on high to rest the up and down piston motion it felt he had doing all day long.

Alec's Battle Axe raised again and again it fell like a piston in an engine and again his Battle Axe was denied the taste of pork as it missed the tiny Boar Pup. Again Alec's (not so?) mighty Battle Axe tasted only dirt and grass of the plains land outside the walls of the Town of Beginnings on the First Floor of Aincrad. Alec would keep this up till the end of time if need be and honestly it was beginning to feel that way. Alec wondered at the fact that he had seen no other Players so far. It had felt like hours he had been out here in the open grasslands raising and falling his axe in this endless saga of a battle. "Perhaps that was his role in this video game." Alec mused to keep these epic Boar Pups busy so that the Front Line Players would not be bothered by them. That way they could focus on Bosses and clearing floors without having to keep looking over their shoulders for these incredibly time consuming Boar Pups. Or, maybe he just wasn't doing so well this was causing anyone who happened to be walking by immense amounts of humor. Either way thought Alec these Boar Pups are my life till I or they are defeated. With that Alec prepared for his next swing. The second Boar Pup dashed in and smashed itself into Alec's armor causing some minor bruising while the last Boar Pup was not able to connect the scuffle.

  10. Reveling in his momentary exhilaration exaltation for a few moments grinned widely at his success, though it may have only been minor to Alec it felt monumental. He breathed a deep breath if fresh air and cherished it's sweetness. It tasted like victory not an over all victory mind you but definitely a personal victory. Alec had started to allow the failures he had experienced to pile up and cloud his overall view of his situation. Even though he felt like was failing in this battle he reminded himself he had a mountain more Hit Points than these tiny Boar Pups. He could fight all day and the odds were he would come out on top. The most damage they had been able to cause him was one hit point pet attack. He could still get hit like 50 more times before his hit points were depleted. These Boar Pups on the other hand had 5 hit points each. Alec was pretty sure given his new found outlook on the fight that he could do fifteen hit points of damage before they could could fifty at one hit point a hit. With his new found lease on life and this battle Alec hoisted his Battle Axe and happily yelled to the skies as he brought it down towards the next Boar Pup.

Alec's Battle Axe came down and again missed the slippery little Boar Pup. It danced out of the way grunting in an attempt to sound fearsome as it charged towards Alec ramming it's tusks into Alec's side to open yet another of the mounting like cuts he had received and again a trickle of red pixels leaked out and his life points dropped by one more. This was a marathon Alec reminded himself not a Sprint as he regrouped to attack again. The second Boar Pup shot in and snagged Alec's arm with a tusk while the last Boar Pup misjudged its attack and was deflected by Alec.

  11. Alec felled his Battle Axe unfortunately he was not prepared and his grip slipped slightly in his axe handle. One tiny slip was all it took though. One fraction off and again Alec chewed up dirt with his Battle Axe. "Seriously?" Alec mused. He had been joking earlier but now he was starting to seriously consider either changing his Battle Axe out for a hoe or maybe a large gardening trowel. Did they have farmers in this game? Maybe he could make a living doing that. He wouldn't be actively clearing the Bosses on the Front Lines but maybe he could be if use that way. After all his axe had spent more time tilling the soil than it had delivering damage to these squirmy little Boar Pups. Alec shrugged and shook his head ruefully. Oh well. What could you do really? He either had to take it all in stride and try to do the best he could with what he had no matter how horribly he was doing, that it take his Battle Axe and whip it into the surrounding prairie plains land. Alec was never one to quit though so he rolled his shoulders shook out his body and got ready to go again. Alec gripped the handle of his Battle Axe firmly and Drew it up for another swing at these pesky annoying Boar Pups.

Alec felt an upswell of elation as he saw the Boar Pups Hit Point bar dip from Green to red!! Almost there!! He was getting closer. The Boar Pup let out a squeal and charged at Alec burying it's small needle like tusks into Alec's body causing another cut to open up leaking out more red pixels as his Hit Point bar drop another point. The other two Boar Pups charged at Alec but he was able to deftly side step them both.

  12. Alec had decided he needed a shield. He had heard good things said about a shop on Floor seven. It was located in the vicinity of a mountain on that floor. Alec made the trip and soon found it. It seemed to be a very nice shop, well built and sturdy if construction. Alec approached and wrapped his large hand around the handle and turned the knob. "Hello?" he booked as he stepped into the shop. "Is anyone here?" Alec took two steps into the shop and looked around. His massive six and a half foot frame being cramped had he stood in the doorway. He looked to the walls and eyed the weapons, armor and shields approvingly. "Yes." It seemed he had the right place he thought. His eye sight caught on one shield in particular. It had a tempered beveled edge and was made from a white metal. There was a very cool looking lightning symbol engraved on the front. Alec eyed it approvingly then looked around for the Shopkeeper or Blacksmith.

    Name: Shield of the Thunderhearts
    Your Profession: Blacksmith
    Your Rank: 5
    Item Type: Shield
    Tier: 1
    Enhancements: Mitigation, Thorns, Paralyze
Description: A tempered, beveled edged shield made from a white metal, andcapable of building up static. It has a cool-looking lightning symbol engraved on the front, and there are words engraved on theback of it, which read as thus: "When the tides rise, become the storm."

  13. Alec dug yet another furrow into the dirt with his Battle Axe. Alec was beginning to feel more like a farmer hoeing and tilling a field than any kind of warrior trying to fight monsters. He swore his axe was close to spending more time buried in the soil than buried in a Boar Pup's flesh. He needed to find a way to get his axe into the Boar Pups and keep it going there. Alec yanked his Battle Axe free of the dirt and reset his stance for me stability. He shifted his weight back and forth setting his balance. He then brought his axe back and swung it in a high looping arc till it reached the Apex of its loop. Once it reached the pinnacle he pulled it down in a break neck plummet towards the Boar Pup.

The break neck plummet of the axe once again buried the crescent bladed Battle Axe into the soil. Perhaps thought Alec if I pour some water on it maybe it'll grow an axe tree. While Alec was busy wrenching on the Battle Axe buried in the dirt the Boar Pup took advantage of the opportunity to strike and gored Alec with its tusks opening another wound in Alec that leaked yet more red pixels of his life force from his body.

  14. Alec dared to hope that he was getting the hang of combat and using his Battle Axe. So far he had managed to damage all three Boar Pups once no he just needed a few more really solid hits and he'd be done. These Boar Pups had proven a tricky lot for Alec. No wonder Lyle Tealeaf was needing their tusks. Their tusks had proven to be immensely sharp and would make an invaluable additional to any Blacksmith creation. Especially a shield with the Thorns ability. Those darn little things really smarted when jabbed by one that was for sure. Alec cleared his thoughts and took a deep breath to help as he inspected the next Boar Pup he planned on attacking. Once he felt he had its measure locked he he reset his stance and foot placement to a more comfortable position. Then he shifted his grip to all for a better swing and raised the Battle Axe high. Then with a prayer for luck Alec brought the axe done in a straight line toward his Boar Pup of choice.

Another hit by Alec to one of Boar Pups meant he was one hit closer to defeating these squirmy little creatures. Alec was reminded of another saying from home "Hearding cats." Alec thought. That is exactly what this felt like! These Boar Pups would dodge and duck and dip and dive and dodge. If any action Alec had ever been more like herding cats than this he could not think of it right now. That was for sure! He chuckled ruefully at the entire situation. He couldn't let it get to him this was only game after all. A Death Game that he was trapped in but a game none the less. Alec planted his feet firmly in the ground with his weight shifted to the balls of his feet for easy movement and quicker reaction time. He hoisted his Battle Axe up high above his head and as he eyed the Boar Pup and gauged it's next move he sprung into action like a coiled spring and whipped the Battle Axe down toward his current Boar Pup target.

Alec brought his Battle Axe straight down and where once there had been a Boar Pup now there was nothing but dirt. The Boar Pup repaid Alec by zipping in lightning fast and burying it's tiny tusks into Alec opening yet again another tiny gash that seeped out red pixels representing blood and once again Alec's Hit Point bar dropped by one.

  15. Alec's epic war with the Boar Pups continued. His progress was negligible but at least he had made some progress. The Boar Pups had sustained more damage than he himself had taken which was always preferable. The trick though was to ensure they took more damage he needed to optimize his attack patterns so as to hit more times. As it was his hit percentage was pitifully low. Alec took another moment to size up his latest Boar Pup target. He slid his feet into a more comfortable position and rotated his hand on the handle of his Battle Axe for a more comfortable grip. Then he lifted the Battle Axe high into the air and with one swift fluid motion brought the Battle Axe down in a quick firm chopping motion.

Alec's quick firm chopping dropped the Battle Axe square on the Boar Pups back. The Boar Pup reeled in pain and tried to counter attack with it's needle sharp tusks but missed at the last second and came up short of sinking them in to Alec's flesh.

The Boar Pup lurched at Alec but missed him with it's tusks and skidded to a stop beside Alec. And so the Battle continues Alec mumbled to himself and the Boat Pups. The second Boar Pup shot in and snagged Alec with its tusks tearing a small gash in his skin. The remaining Boar Pup ran forward but missed hitting Alec due to all the confusion.

  17. The Battle was wearing on and becoming drawn out. Alec was fighting against odds and needed to finish the fight quickly or the odds would eventually wear him down and beat him. It was only a matter of time. Alec focused on his next Boar Pup target and tried to gauge it movements to glean some form of insight into to patterns and likely movements. Alec shifted his feet to adjust to the Boar Pups movements. He shifted his weight accordingly to attempt to preordain it's likely reaction. Then hoisted his Battle Axe up and when felt he was ready he exhaled deeply as he swung his Battle Axe in a smooth descending arc towards the milling Boar Pup. Alec prayed he was reading the situation correctly as he brought his axe to bear towards the Boar Pup.

Alec had judged correctly this time. As his Battle Axe streaked down towards the Boar Pup it's crescent blade bit deeply into to Boat Pup and Alec was rewarded with a squeal and a spray of red pixels as the Boar Pups health bar dipped but stayed in the green. The Boar Pup lashed out blindly at Alec but missed him completely in its haste to strike back. The second Boar Pup streaked in and slammed into Alec before dodging away while the last Boar Pup was too slow in making contact with Alec due to the mayhem.

  18. Alec made a connection with his Battle Axe to one of the Boar Pups, but the Boar Pup had also connected with him. Their wounds weren't severe more an annoyance that slowly winnowed away at his life and Hit Points. Alec took another deep breath to focus himself. He would not battle these Boar Pups till the game was cleared he would finish them here and now and make his way to stand amongst the Front Line Players in the Raid Team. That was his goal realised and Alec would not let anything especially a tutorial quest mob stand in his way. Alec eyed his next target and took it's measure. It was small and agile, likely to dodge and prone to bring missed. That was it's strength and so Alec would attempt to make that it's weakness. Alec raised his Battle Axe up over his head again and kept his eye trained on the Boar Pup the whole time he brought his axe down.

  19. Again Alec swung and again he missed but vice versa again a Boar Pup had lunged but it too had missed. This dance of theirs continued it seemed swing and miss lunge and miss. If this was to be the way of it Alec would continue until either the Boar Pups were dead, Alec fell over dead or someone came along and either ridiculed Alec to death or dealt with these damnable Boar Pups. Alec began to feeling he would spend the remained of his time stuck here in Aincrad locked in an endless battle with this group of Boar Pups. Wouldn't that be a sight to see Alec mused as he chuckled to himself. A larger than average sized man locked in an eternal Battle with three tiny adolescent boars.

  20. Alec's second attempt at combat really wasn't going any smoother than his first, much to his chagrin. So far he had missed on a Sword Art attack and a basic attack. Thus was not looking well for him. Maybe if he picked up some skills like First Said he could be of use to the Front Line Players and the Raid Team, because as it looked now attacking monsters and doing damage was not something he seemed to be able to get the hang of. But Alec was not one to give up when faced with long odds and a means of continuing. As long as he had a pulse he would continue to stand and fight for all he was worth. Alec ground his teeth together and fortified his resolve he was here for a purpose and that purpose at this moment was to defeat some Boar Pups. Alec widened his stance, bent his knees, and cocked his right holding his Battle Axe. Alec focused on his target the third Boar Pup and with that swung down towards the Boar Pup with an overhand downward swing.

Alec swung again at one of the Boar Pups and again his swing went wide striking the dirt just to the left of the Boar Pup. The Boar Pup was startled by the struck and as such also missed it's lunge at Alec. Alec mused to himself from an outside perspective this either looked like an epic Battle of swing and miss and counter and miss, or an epic fail of a Battle with all parties involved flailing around and contorting like they were all suffering from a group seizure. Alec hoped it was the former but feared it was the later. The second Boar Pup to attack sprinted in and slashed Alec with its tusks causing Alec to jolt which in turn caused the last Boar Pup to miss in its charge at Alec.

Having failed miserably on his attempt at a Sword Art, Alec stood wiping dust and dirt from himself. Mortification his only friend as a result of the epically pathetic attempt to attack the group of Boar Pups. If any other living soul had seen him he would never have been able to show his face in public again. Alec knew after this that his journey if every he could come close to the end of it would take much longer than he had hoped. He knew it was a long way off till he could finally stand amongst the Front Line Players but if he still couldn't unleash a first level Sword Art his journey hadn't even begun. Alec steeled himself after his miserable attempt at a Sword Art and vowed to stick to basics. Simple basic swing attacks, nothing fancy till he got a hang of this better.

Alec steeled his resolve after his pitiful attempt at a Sword Art, vowing to keep to basic attacks. It appeared he had not fully overcome his feelings of inadequacy because his thoughts were elsewhere as he swung his Battle Axe and missed the Boar Pup he had been aiming for. Only shear luck caused the Boar Pup to miss as well. Thankfully. The second Boar Pup charged in and missed and while Alec was focused on that the remaining Boar Pup charged in and slashed its tiny tusks against Alec's opening a small cut.

  22. With his decision made Alec adjusted his footing and braced himself in a solid stance. Alec then began to focus and draw energy into his Battle Axe. He felt his Battle Axe begin to tingle ever so faintly at first. Slowly and steadily the tingle began to build until it great from a tingle to a steady thrum that began to vibrate throughout Alec's body. The thrum became a palpable vibration coating through Alec's entire body till he thought he might explode or vibrate apart. At this point the double crescent heads of Alec's Battle Axe began to faintly glow. The glow grew and increased until a visible light was shed from the matching blades. When the vibration and illumination had reached a crescendo Alec let out a howl of challenge as he lept skyward and soared high into the air. Upon reaching the peak of his jump Alec looked down and set his sights at a point amidst the three Boar Pups. Alec drove towards his mark like a heat seeking missile. As he landed in the Boar Pups midsts he let out another cry as he swept his Battle Axe a wide sweeping arc and yelled "CRESCENT THRUSH!!!"

Alec flew towards his mark like a rocket. As Alec approached his mark his excitement switched eagerness to dread. He had miscalculated drastically. Alec tried to switch his body position and recorrect for his missed landing trajectory but he realized quickly that would never work. Alec made contact with the ground and as he had intended to release the energy in his axe in a sweeping arc what really happened was Alec collided with the ground and his body bent into a scorpion. His cry of "CASCADE THRUSH!!!" came out more like "CASCADE TTHHRRRUUUUFFFFFF!!!!" as all the air was knocked out of Alec's body. All three of the Boar Pups were startled by this most graceful of landings. One of which took the opportunity to charge at the strange entrance and impale it with it's small sharp tusks. A small gash was opened in the man an a small amount of life force represented as glowing red pixels leaked out if the wound. The Boar Pup snorted and raked it's hooves against the ground in challenge.

  23. As Alec climbed over the next rise he looked down into the exposed valley and saw three more Boar Pups rooting in the ground for roots and bugs just like the last batch had been. "Well." thought Alec. "They may have gotten the coffee right but it seems they just kind of cut and pasted when it came to these Boar Pups." Either way, now was not the time to compliment or critic the game developers level of creativity or lack there of. Now was the time to focus on these three new Boar Pups and how he was going to beat them. Alec had heard people talk about Sword Arts and how much damage they could deliver to a target and how some of them damaged more than one target. "Maybe now's the Time to try one." Alec thought. He pulled up his overlay and quickly scrolled through and saw he had two Sword Arts. The first was Hack an extra damage dealing single target attack. The second Sword Art he had was the one he was looking for it was titled Crescent Thrush. It was a wide sweeping arc that would attack all enemies within range. Alec had just enough Energy to hit all three but this needed to be a hit or Alec might be in trouble.

  24. Well Alec lamented. There was an old saying two out of three ain't bad. That bitter sweet thought made Alec shakes his head ruefully. The fight hadn't been terribly hard just long and drawn out. He'd definitely need to look into something that would grant him a better chance of hitting. Maybe an Accuracy trinket or an axe with some Accuracy and Damage added to it as Enhancements. Heck if he could find a decent shield that reflected damage would even help out. Whatever he could do to increase the amount of times he hit and if he could return damage when hit it would greatly change the way any future fights were to play out. Enough thoughts of the future. Alec needed to focus on the here and now and here and now Alec needed to find one more Boar Pup Tusk for Mr Lyle Tealeaf and deliver them to his shop. "Well." thought Alec as he hefted his Battle Axe from the ground onto his shoulder he turned to look around and see if he could spot any more Boar Pups on the horizon. As Alec scanned his surroundings he thought he heard a sound of snuffling coming from over the next rise. Maybe that would be more big the Boar Pups he was looking for.

(Out of combat post to refresh all Energy.

  25. The dance between Alec and the Boar Pup had sped up and become more deadly. It had also begun to draw towards a close Alec hoped. These tiny pin pricks of damage from the Boar Pup weren't deadly in and of themselves but with enough of them Alec could be wideled away to nothing and die from a thousand tiny cuts as easily as from one massive stroke. Alec stepped back and adjusted his stance gaining a firmer footing fir himself. He eyed the Boar Pup menacingly as they circled and danced for a position of advantage. Finally Alec stopped his circling feeling he had gained the right advantage over his target and dove forward one hand Battle Axe flashing in the sun of the grassy plains where he fought. The Battle Axe soared through the air hungry to bite into the flesh of the Boar Pup again.
