[PT] [PP-F08] Foreshadowing? <<Scents of the Wild: Ferocious Foe>>
Morningstar replied to Pollux's topic in Beginner Floors
Morningstar didn't even need to direct Yue Hua--she was on the ball. She dove in first, entering with a clean display of sword-work. She completed it with a stun, creating an ideal state for Morningstar to swoop in after her. He followed her lead. Star procced Charge--a bit overkill considering its immovable state, but the chance to show off to his trackers came irregularly and he was a bit of a showoff at heart. The air boomed like a drum and Morningstar flashed forward. The tip of his blade touched the sky. When he drove it down, the birds abandoned their trees. The sleeping bear's -
[EV-PP-F29] Tactical Analysis: Not Good <<Fatal Error: Act 1>>

Morningstar cursed the person who decided duplicating mobs was a brilliant idea. A knight (that hadn't existed moments ago) slammed into him from behind, knocking him to the ground. This one's health was already dipping into the yellow. Winnable. He groaned, ineffectually wiping mud and grime from his once-red jacket. He bit back, pushing himself up with the momentum gained by Charge and jetting his blade outward. At some point--maybe when the knight had begun to rewrite itself onto the surrounding Shamblers--he had separated from his group. The chaos was immeasurable, only amplified by t -

He flickered to life. Smoke plumed high into the air, dark and wispy. On-lookers gathered round, worried eyes and parted lips on every face he could see. Everything ached. He remembered the ship coming apart, fire and explosions all around, and then the fall. It should have killed him, but the last minute activation of a Blessing of the Wood shieled him just enough to stop his health bar from hitting zero. It couldn't stop the rest of the damage, though. How the system planned on rebuilding Ladonia, Morningstar couldn't fathom. The ship had ripped to pieces in the sky, leaving e

The last time he faced Kumatetsu, his partner had gotten scared and teleported out. He hadn't managed a single hit before he begrudgingly followed after her. This was fine, of course, because tracking a monster you've seen before was much easier than searching for it blindly. Before, he had trekked through the forest all night before he finally found the giant bear. This time, it didn't take long at all. "Just imagine it's an evil bear," he said, listening to his guildmate ramble. He liked bears too. It stood tall in the thicket, scratching against a colossal tree. Claw marks sc -
thread summary Gulab Jamun used to complete Bitter Winds: Mid Air Madness. Morningstar: 2240 EXP | (150/5)*8 + 2000 [Quest] Sordid Sea Chanty | When applied, the first critical hit made against the user in a thread becomes a normal hit. Additional effects that would trigger as a result of the mob’s dice rolls also do not trigger. Lasts for one thread. Consumed when applied. <<Bitter Winds: Den of the Skyrats>> Quest

From the wreckage, wings spread, he fell. Flames singed his skin, but he didn't feel a thing. Metal shrieked and splintered, raining on the city below. The wind drowned the screams. The sky burned. Not a star in sight. His lungs squeezed. Knives hailed upon him—sticking, stabbing, shredding. He couldn't breathe. A ball fell fast. He tracked it until he no longer could, and then back to the ship. Rumbling. Rumbling, and cracking, and splitting, and fire—so much fire. He dipped in and out. Flames, and then nothing. Flames, and then nothing. He remembered fireworks, arci

The Skyrat Raider chased him to the back of the hull, where the escape pods were located. He could see Nari at the far end, waiting for Star before she set off in her pod. A single one remained. The rest had been taken by the surviving crew members, and perhaps some of the pirates who wished not to go down with someone else's ship. Another explosion. The airship groaned, and Morningstar swore he heard a cracking sound from above. He spun, digging his blade through the final pirate's torso and watching as he crumbled to blue dust. Nari called for him to hurry, but before he could tak -

note: Nari-Lanreth has exited the thread due to inactivity; I will solo from here on. The creaking of the ship signaled them to evacuate. Regardless, the pirates fought on. Morningstar swayed from one end of the room to the other, wobbling like a child learning to skate. Flames erupted from the room next door, led by an explosion that shook the hull. He shouted at Nari to go on ahead; he would catch up to her when he could. In the meantime, he stayed behind and fended off the Skyrat Raiders. Their attention was stuck to Nari-Lanreth until a wide sword art from Morningstar stole it aw -

[EV-PP-F29] Anomaly | <<Fatal Error>>
Morningstar replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
“You’re not going to go looking for it alone, are you?” Bee gathered the equipment she had left in the foyer. Her guildmaster had a knack for being an idiot at times. She tried to mitigate that when she could. “‘Course not. I’m a responsible adult,” he replied from down the way. Morningstar knelt before the Shambler once again. Did responsible adults keep monsters in cages? Maybe not. He studied it cautiously, careful not to come too close to the cage. It was probably still angry about the removal of its hands, and while it was less of a threat without them, he didn’t want to test it -

“NOOO!” The sound ripped out of him, a guttural cry. It was primal and broken, mixed with panic, rage, and desperation. Calenia strained against the knight’s vice grip. Her voice was silenced as its fist tightened around her throat. Leron screamed and shouted, slamming his spear into the knight over and over to no avail. He made a last ditch attempt at freeing his familiar by jamming his weapon through the knight’s wrist, but it simply blocked with its free arm. To Leron’s surprise, Calenia didn’t break apart as intended. Her form shifted in the knight’s hand, expanding until sh -

From Cardinal came something new. It outstretched its crystalline arms, taking in the vile air of the 29th Floor. It moved lithely, ghost-like, ignoring obstructions in its path like they were as insubstantial as dust. It’s form g̵̢̘͙̓͒̌̈̿̒l̵͓̱̓̃̉̂̓̏͝ḯ̵̝̤̲̯̣͐͋͝t̶͍͚̫̹͓̅͐ć̴̟͙̲̼̩̯͕͝ḩ̵̹͍͇̺̏e̵̡͓̞̝͎̊d̸͎̓, not unlike the Fatal Error quest message. Pixels spasmed out of control, and strange, abrupt audio queues sounded at random intervals. Something wasn’t right. Something was broken. The player known as Leron encountered it first. At level sixty-three, there was virtually no monster that coul -
