“ Woah, woah, woah. Someone’s better speedy, huh. ” He glanced over at the girl and knew with his throwing down of the gauntlet that there would be a friendly competition, but he hadn’t expected her to go into overtime wanting to accomplish everything on their to-do list. “ Don’t forget to also enjoy what we have here. If you push yourself too hard, you’ll end up stepping on something that you think is tiny and then swells into dangerous territory. ” It’s why Titan had tried to out level the first floor so when he went to do some of the quests now, they were much easier than if he tried a week ago.

But, it seemed like Shay had been in quite the hurry. Her own attitude had been back to normal, terse and wanting to show off with Titan as support. “ Whatever you say. ” he murmured, eyes glancing as the four pups appeared and it seemed as though Shay had only been able to take care of one.

He wasn’t sure if he’d sweep the rest but he’d surely try, his hands were quick to grab at his assault spear while twirling it into the air. With graceful steps, Titan found his way into the middle of the trio and swept the sharp edge of his weapon at each one with a furious hurricane attack seeming to knock them all unconscious in one sweep. If he stayed on the first floor, he looked mighty strong but who knew what lurked on higher levels. “ Go ahead and loot ‘em, you need 3 tusks, right? ” He’d be there to try to make this as painless for Shay although he knew if she wanted, she could handle this alone.

“ Yeah, I didn’t really fish with him. I picked eggs and mats on the side but I’ll probably go fishing. It seems too good to pass up. ” It wasn’t something like the man felt like he could waste his skill points on now but perhaps when his build was a little more set. Searching would just have to do for now. “ You have how many? ” A bit flabbergasted by the number, he barely had 3 and constantly seemed to be climbing with his own necessary weapon skills and eyeing out when he should buy the heavy armor set as well. It was a challenge, but he’d figure it out eventually. “ Yeah, he seems to be incredibly smart. I thought I was clever but he’s a whole other beast. ” If the man didn’t seem honest and kind, he’d probably be a bit more concerned.

“ Yeah, that’s what I heard. I have two more quests to do after this one. The Warg one on Floor 2 and the last one of this chain. ” He was thankful to have Mari’s help regardless if he needed it or not.

“ We should head back to the quest giver. Wrap this up one nice and easy. ” Titan made sure everything in front of him had been taken cared of and headed his way outside back to the Town of Beginnings.

Titan had managed to do a couple of different quests and grinding since he last saw Shay and felt pretty confident in his abilities and that he would burst into the second tier fairly soon. But for now? The man had been in his home on the edge of the Town of Beginnings resting and taking the day easy. At least, until he got the message from Shay that he wasn’t expecting at all, at least not for the second intro quest.

TITAN: I thought we were doing your familiar? I’m home anyways, I’ll meet you right outside on the west side.

With that, the man quickly got himself ready and walked outside to the west side of town, his eyes already noticing the raven haired girl standing there to do the second quest. " I did this quest at level 2 and it was so damn hard for me. I'm sure you won't have any issues about it. "

TITAN'S INVENTORY

There he was again, working on his alchemy and turning the sign from closed to open while he tidied up from his last night of potion making. He seemed to be really getting the hang of it but still only ever doing enough to get a few damage potions at best. He set himself up, the beakers on and his tier two materials already ready as he began to tinker and work on everything. After everything had been said and done, he had been able to create two damage potions and lost of his own material. All in all, a good day of alchemy.

" Guess you've been expecting someone a little less regal? " The voice seemed familiar but cocky, an air of sophistication and charm that exuded fake or inauthentic to Titan while he pulled out his spear and readied himself for battle. " Now, don't be too hasty. The joy of this for us to enjoy the fight being at the same strength, health and energy. I'd say good luck but I won't need it. " The gemini mused, laughing at its joke before it attacked Titan first quickly with a slash against the real Titan's chest with its assault spear. " You're quick on your toes, huh. I won't miss again. " The Gemini promised but not before Titan closed the gap between the two of them and struck with what seemed to be a crit in his hands, the soul terror began to glow and prompted a mesage once more before Titan quickly closed his pane and had a smug look on his face. Tita nwould lunge and strike, the bleed debuff now on and it'd only be a matter of time as it's health began to deteriorate.

Before Titan began his ascent to the cave, he looked in his inventory and quickly switched his LIQUID LUCK PENDANT into his EYE OF HORUS, knowing that in time of battle, the accuracy would be paramount if he wanted to win. His eyes were firm and steady as he began to climb the rock wall with a fierce determination. Step after step, push after pull, Titan found the gripping that he needed and pulled himself up and forward. It took him around twenty minutes or so to work everything out that he needed to, the sharp sting of exercise still plagued his body but by the end he had made it to the time winded and tired. There was no way he'd be able to fight if he didn't take a little breather, so the man forced himself to sit on the ledge to breathe with the cave entrance only being about five feet away from him.

A whisper echoing could be heard from the cave, it seemed as though someone or something realized it had visitors. 

[ TITAN HAS EQUIPPED HIS EYE OF HORUS TRINKET. ] 

Titan glanced at the girl peculiarly, confused and unsure why she found it so funny that he met Shield. “ Yeah, I, uh. ” He let her go through her full range of emotions while explaining what it was exactly that made her crack up in the way that she did. “ He’s pretty awesome. Ended up fishing with him, I saw a bulletin of him wanting to chat with newbie tanks so I hit him up for that. ” He wouldn’t consider Shield a friend per se, but he was something he felt like he could send a message to if he needed. The man seemed knowledgeable and probably one of the best tanks from the way he so eloquently described the dos and don’ts of tanking. “ Yeah, he was very honest with the state of the frontlines. How it’s not all sunshine and roses, there’s grudges and even people who may use an opportunity maliciously. ” It was the nicest way he could put it, not ever seeing what it even meant first handed. “ Sounds good, thanks Mari. I know he’s a thorns tank and does insane damage but he said he got lucky with his drops for it. ” He wasn’t so certain he’d be as lucky as well. He’d bit his tongue, rolling his eyes knowing for sure that he was closer to like than loathe in Mari, he could just feel it in his bones.

It all happened in a flash and with Mari’s final hit, it seemed as though the monster fell and all that was left was the gem he needed to give to Hannah. “ Yeah, I might’ve overleveled too much for this one. ” he let out a small chuckle, hand going behind his back to scratch his head before putting away his weapon and made sure he hadn’t forgot anything before they turned around. “ Sorry, didn’t mean to waste your time. I didn’t think…. It’d be that easy to defeat. ”

After his visit with Night, Titan found his way over to Ceres' shop with a warm smile on his face. " Hi, excuse me, sorry to bother. I'm here from Night to give you some of these items? I also had a shield i'd like identified if that's alright. Here's the money! " He knew it was fairly expensive to do so and with the money that Night gave him, he picked out enough money for the girl to use for identification. " Let me know if this is too much, sorry to just bombard you like this. You can keep every single one of the consumables, I don't want any of them. "

He let the other girl finish before chiming in. “ I wasn’t referring to others, just myself. ” He wanted to clarify quickly. “ I knew for myself, I wasn’t doing any good wallowing in a life that I was missing out on when people were dying on the frontlines trying to get us out. I know the frontline aren’t for everyone and people shouldn’t be held accountable for this crazy hell we’re in. ” He made sure he was crystal clear this time. Titan was too close in making a joke about his rising harem like a mighty wave but he already could tell he needed to chose the jokes he’d send over Mari’s way because she had been able to tell what kind of guy he was. She might see the truth behind some of the humor.

“ Uhh, hmm. ” Titan pulled out his notes from Shield to read out loud. “ I met with someone named Shield? He gave me this basic list of what I should focus on based on what I told him my goals were. ” On the notepad, large bold notes had been taken that essentially said that his familiar would be for mitigation, he’d have a weapon that provided damage and a shield that had regeneration with a trinket that had accuracy with a slash next to the last one that then said taunt. He showed his notes to her, curious to her own thoughts.

“ I was going to use this as a formula for now as I continued. ” He took the other’s words into consideration, but he wasn’t sure what to think after hearing that what he seemed to be doing was wrong? “ I’m not trying to tank until I’m in the third tier though, really. There aren’t enough people leveling up right now to be a tank trying to level up. It’s really nice that there’s others like you but, I don’t want to burden people every single time I’m ready to do some quests. ” He hope she’d understand and that’d help her see what his plans were. His bigger than most ego quickly dwarfed as she poked holes into his plans.

“ I lost the potion from the time I got it. ” He answered honestly. “ It’s why I leveled up as much as I did. I have 220 health right now and potions, just in case. I should be okay. ” With that, he finally made it to the gem and pulled it right out of its home and engaged the cave guardian. 

Titan noticed the guardian showing up with a vicious smirk, his eyes caught the creature's eyes as he pulled out his assault spear and charged up a quick maiming blow aimed for the guardian as he shoved at it's stomach and did some damage quickly and gaining aggro on it. Luckily, Titan had been able to sidestep the other's attack and he waited, hoping they'd be able to down it fairly quickly.

He stopped right in his tracks. " Wait, what? You're not a Merchant. I feel duped. " His face fleshed red in the process. " Yeah, I can do that no problem. " He pulled up his friends list. " Here, i'm going to add you so I can let you know when i'm planning on doing the other quest. " and added NIGHT into his friend list. " Give me whatever you had and I can run it over to Ceres. I just want this shield identified in case it's better than my uncommon tier 1 armor. "  He then waited to see what Night was going to grab before planning on seeing the MERCHANT on the first floor. 

“ Yeah. It took me a while to get over the fact that I was stuck in the game, lost everything. We all went through it but at some point I had to understand that the front liners weren’t finishing the game and if I wasn’t willing to help, what good was I? ” His words were sincere, the crack in his armor that he displayed brilliantly living in his truth as authentically as he could. “ This is the armor I got from the second questgiver. Sorry it’s not broken up enough. I’ve been making sure to overlevel before I do quests. I really don’t want to take any chances at all but yeah, probably would be a good idea for guards if there’s enough higher levels to do that. ”

He could feel her eyes practically staring daggers at him. “ My name’s Titan cause I wanted to be a tank. I’ve been away from video games for a bit. As Titans were back in Greece, an ancient power who sought back their glory days once again. ” As he explained his name and the choice, he hoped Mari felt real stupid for thinking it had been something dumb and shallow.

The man was truly high and low brow, a culminating enigma to all levels of humors.

“ I’ve met a couple of other people who wanted to make a guild too, similar to what you were talking about. ” He was curious if they were in cahoots with one another. “ I’m going to be a tank though. I spoke with someone on the front lines in depth about guild so I’m not too worried. I’ve noticed that without damage, I don’t do enough so I’ll probably build out my damage and slowly transition as I get higher in levels. ” He thought about it a lot, even the need for his mitigation wombat. “ You're right, I would just love it. ” Words laced in wit, a clever tone as he pulled out his spear and noticed the dim light. " The jewel's supposed to be in the middle of the cave so i'll just keep walking and hope there's some light soon. "

He remembered the merchant's shop when he had simply been window shopping and still, both trinkets he received truly still saved his life constantly through his time in Aincrad. He'd return with a bunch of random items and opened the door to head to the front. " You alright Night? " He remembered her name and that she was an incredible identifier. " I was wondering, I have a couple of things I think you could use but wanted to see if you wanted a deal?  I have one tier one perfect shield I wanted to see if you wanted to identify. I'd trade you one tier one rare weapon and 5 rare consumables for the price it costs to identify my shield but you need to accompany me to do the Warg quest on the second floor? That way you can also see your trinkets in action again. What do you say? " He hoped she'd agree to the peculiar dear. " It's a win-win and i'll continue to come to you for all my merchant needs. "

TITAN'S DROP OFFS:

Titan couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle at the other’s word choice. He hadn’t necessarily thought himself as someone with a lot of resourcefulness but in compared to an average person, he did often read through quests thoroughly and tried to understand the whole picture before finishing a task. “ Yeah, I guess you’re right. ” The man mused, shrugging in the process as they continued forward together. “ I’ve been at it I think two weeks now and at first, I almost got killed by a boar. I feel a bit better, more understanding despite being a newbie. ” He answered very honestly for that last portion. “ There’s a bunch of you willing to aid and share their knowledge, I admire that and hope to do the same to others. ” The goal was the front line first and then creating building blocks for others to achieve.

Despite her short stature, the girl was curvy and almost made Titan uncomfortable in the same way she seemed to command the same type of presence he did. She had charm to her, a beckoning of sorts while her hips swayed as she walked and Titan couldn’t help but take a small innocent glance before looking back at the map. “ I’ll let you imagination run wild on that one, Mari. ”  He couldn’t help the playful tease; she tossed the ball in it waiting for the home run and he had to swing on it. “ It’d be ignorant of me not to notice, but I wasn’t going to question you on it. That’s your story to share if you’d like. ” After a bit of walking it seemed as though the cave they were looking for was just up ahead. “ I’ll go first, not because I know you can’t tank it but because it’s my quest. I shouldn’t have you hand hold me through every part. ” He winked, walking inside and waiting for Mari before he began to hear the critters of the cave, announcing themselves to the duo. He was sure a battle would take place soon enough.

Titan nodded at the other's words. “ I think you have enough materials now. ” He listened to the other’s words as he shook his head. “ You’ll learn though that this event was pretty good. It offered some good loot and if you’re nice to me, maybe I’ll share some with you if you’re nice to me. ” The man turned around on his heels, deciding he had enough for now and would go turn in all of his loot to see what he finally would receive.

“ Anyway, message me tomorrow for the familiar quest. I’ll meet you at whatever floor’s transporter. I’m not sure where you’ll find a fox but, this’ll be pretty good. ” With his final words, he waved the girl off and begun to walk towards the entrance of the Town of Beginnings, hoping that when the time came that Shay would be able to find her way out as well and back to Zachariah’s.

Titan wiggled against the chest for a few moments, his hands were a bit tired from everything he had been able to do but he seemed to get it open and received a bunch of col, three pieces of clumps and two unidentified consumables from the chest. " Not a bad haul, not a bad haul at all. " Murmuring to himself, excited and thankful for everything he had received within this last little run inside of the courtyard.

With that, Titan closed the chest and rose up to his feet. In a couple of moves, he was now right in front of the gate and he opened it while making himself through. With that, he closed the gate behind of him and exhaled while opening up his inventory and taking one final look.

“ This was a great haul for today. ” Nodding, pleased with himself before he headed off back to the first floor and to his home.

TREASURE CHEST LOOT

The man was fairly tired when it came to everything he had been doing and exhaled a breath in complete and utter exhaustion. He could feel his energy disappearing in the process as he took deep breaths to try and recenter himself in everything that he had been doing. It was quite exhausting, the rushing for eggs but if his count was right, he'd have just enough to collect everything that he needed and a great amount of materials for his craft. 

That's when the man had spotted a treasure chest nearby. " Oh shoot. " The shimmering golds and wooden chests beckoned Titan over like a siren's call as he hadn't had any keys or items to help open it like Shield had. He would need to use his own strength to see what would happen, his hands jiggling the lock and hoping for the best to open it with hopefully good loot waiting for him. 

TREASURE CHEST FOUND

Titan's eyes spotted the five last eggs that had just been in reach before they disappeared into tiny little pixels and headed right for the air. He knew that he could still collect a few last material for now and spotted the two clumps of weed that he picked and placed into his inventory. It had been quite the night and with every single one of his eggs and mats he collected, Titan was getting closer and closer to being too exhausted to move. He pushed himself off from the floor and walked towards the gate to head back down to the teleporter.

Titan wouldn’t give up too easily in his search for mats though, knowing how beneficial it’d be to have a bit more material on hand for when his current stock went low. He had the glow of a man who tried his hardest and felt good with how much he had been able to do in such little time and knew that it was a great show of his own current capabilities.

His energy had been at about twenty percent at this point and he exhaled and inhaled while his chest began to expand and collapse even quicker. The beads of sweat appeared on his forehead as Titan had been incredibly tired during this time but a time limit could do absolutely everything to someone's motivation. He spotted the five eggs and two materials just a bit ahead, he would use the same technique this go around. His hands were swift as he tapped each egg individually to get exactly what he wanted and they seemed to all fly into his inventory with a haste he hadn't seen before. He had about a minute left as he pinched at the two clumps of weed and placed them into his inventory. 

The eggs began to materialize and Titan would simply be happy with whatever he had been able to claim during his mad sprint for eggs and materials.

This time there was two eggs about fifteen feet ahead. Titan looked at the clock, he had three minutes from the limit to finish everything that he needed to. The man went even faster, the fastest he ever could in all of his life for the sake of the eggs. His nimble fingers could do this one with breeze. He moved forward, bent low and with a zeal as he picked up a single egg and tossed it into his inventory. He turned around, his heels moving as he gripped what he could and threw the second egg into his inventory with as much quickness as he could. Both eggs now disappeared into his inventory and the man was off again, this time focusing on the middle of the courtyard than had been quite a boon of both materials and eggs when he went the first time. He hoped it all respawned for these last two minutes of egg grabbing.

His pace had still been incredibly quick, his feet moving at an overtime that they had not been used to but he had about seven more minutes to hurry this up. His eyes glanced over to his own energy bar that was depleting a lot quicker than he was used to as he just moved within the courtyard. To an onlooker, he'd look absolutely insane but he honestly did not care when it came to the type and quality of items he'd receive if he did this right. 

His eyes spotted them, two eggs and a clump of weed about ten feet ahead. He'd try something different this time, holding his inventory box with one hand and his free hand spread out to grip them. He got close and patted each item with his fingertips into the inventory and it seemed to work as he collected the two easter eggs and materials in a jiffy. It was cheating the system a little bit but he needed to, just for this one instance when speed mattered.

Titan placed his spear into its holder and shifted it onto his back, he wouldn't be in need of that while he continued forward. " It's on! " Titan let out a roar, letting his own adrenaline bring him to a place where he could continue and he began to sprint with all of his energy with a low form. It was effective, or he hoped so as he found two materials right off the bat. He opened up his inventory, leaving it open during this moment as he actively threw the clumps into the gray box before spotting three eggs in a row. In his quickened pace, Titan plucked one and tossed it into his free hand and in a constant rhythm tossed both of them into his inventory while he aimed for the last one. It all seemed to work as he collected three additional by the sheer luck of his throws.

The message appeared in a bright red alert with gray words with a countdown clock now showing up within the message as well. “ F^*&. ” He muttered, the curse word rolling off of his tongue with ease and the censor system seemed to still be in tact. “ I guess I can’t rest too much, huh. ” He groaned, pushing himself off the wall and began his search with more intensity. His eyes spotted two more eggs and with vigor, he quickly gripped onto both of them and tossed them into his inventory. “ Well, here’s a good time than any to just grab as many as I can while running. ” Titan began to stretch his legs, the feeling was enough to make him feel like it would be effective for his last minute ditch effort for eggs.

The corner where the pillar met the rock wall seemed to spawn three easter eggs and two materials, just right there for the taking. " Oh wow, this is surprising. " He mostly mused to himself as no one else had been around, picking each vibrant egg and the two pieces of weed from their resting spot and placed them into his inventory. It seemed as though that everything would all work out for him, he'd just need to keep up the vigor and tenacity of what he had been searching for. 

For now, Titan sat down on the wall for a quick little breather. He’d collected so much and with such an intense speed that he just needed a smile rest to breathe and regain his stamina. If he kept it up, he’d be fine. However, it seemed as though an alert appeared with a warning to those collecting eggs.
