Sam

"I never went to school. I got my GED when I was really young. Tried to go to high school, but the teachers thought I was way too smart." She wasn't going to mention why she never went to school, like the main reason because even thinking about it was too painful. "I had my face stuck to my computer for a lot of my time." It was strange to think that they all lived near each other yet never crossed paths until now. Right now it felt like almost fate that they found each other here. Like this group of people that was still growing, came into this specific game at the same time. She didn't really believe in the whole fat thing, but this game is becoming weirder by the second. Sam takes a few bites of her salad... Staring at the cookies sitting there... "Why the hell not," as she grabs one and starts chewing on it... 

In the same instant that Freya takes a huge chuck of it health, Sam is right there carving her Battle Axe up the length of its side. The creature now screams out in pain. As it falls to the ground once more, it tries to make a quick escape. Starting to dig down to go under the sands again, Freya and Sam both grab the back legs of the creature and throw him toward Eruda. Tumbling to the ground with a slide. It quickly gets up looking around frantically. It was surrounded. There was not much it could do from here... Eruda approaches closer as Shiina was all up in its grill while still somehow singing in a crazy fast tone. The creature swipes its tail at Freya and Sam, they both jump back at the same time. Glancing to each other with a nod. They were ready to attack again.

"Oh wow, what a small world. That is where I live too. I was wondering why Raidou put up with you." After this she chuckles as she brushes down her hair. The afro was not a good look on her. Since they were going to do the whole 20 question thing now, she would need a cup of coffee to get ready for it. They make there way in the gates and find the nearest food area. Eventually finding one she walks in and sits at the first clear table. This place was sorta crowded. Sam frequented in places like these a lot as of late. She blamed Shiina and her love for sweets. Every quest she had done with her as ended in one of these. She didn't mind though because she found herself forgetting to eat and this was a great way to keep track of that. She raises a finger to get a waiter but they were busy. It would surely take a moment.

Arriving at floor 5 and getting the same invites as Freya does. Seeing droopy Shiina yawn Sam chuckle. "Here Shiina, have the rest of this. It's coffee, it tastes weird, but it does the trick." Sam hands the girl a half cup of coffee. She knew the effects that sugar had on her and she really looked like she needed it. Eruda explains the quest to Shiina knowing that Sam and Freya had done the research already. She also knew that Freya had already done it but explained that she needed the manpower to put this down quickly. Told Shiina to use ant de-buffs that she had because it was going to make a huge different. Sam clears her throat while she listens. Eruda was getting better and the pep talks at the beginning of the quests. Each one was very enlightening and very clear on what had to be done. The group starts to head out of the gates as Shiina starts sipping on the coffee.

Walking with the team toward the destination, keeping pace without a word to any of them. She was lost in thoughts that had over come while she was sitting idle. Sam looks around, hearing a huge out roar of nothing but anger. Snapping back into reality, she knew that it was what they were here for. Walking Shiina walk toward the beast, some hand movement. She was not really worried about Shiina going upfront any more. After that conversation that was had between them just the other, she just smiles watching her as a pulse across the waters and a glow of her weapon. She grins and vanishes. Ending up right in from of Shiina, face to face with the creature now. A shift of the large head inches from her face, Sam grabs and anchor point attached to it's head and swings herself on top of it's neck. Sam strike downward and very hard right between its eyes. With that the giant creature shatters causing Sam to land on her feet with a huge splash that gets Shiina soaking wet. Sam puts a hand to her mouth muffling "Sorry..."

Sam carves the last few into nothing. Turning to her at the comment that was made. She knew she wasn't half bad. It had been all that she was working toward since she joined this guild of hers. It wasn't until now that she was finally getting to where she wanted to be. "Your not so bad yourself," she would offer to the red head. If this girl really was someone that Raidou knew, that would just be crazy. The fact that he wanted Sam to practically spy on the girl was a new one for her. Gathering information is what she what she did and she would do everything she could, but right now... Right now she was just in it for the training. To get her skills ranked up so that she could be more efficient in what she did best. Focusing on this and that alone was going to be the best course of action... At least for now. They spend a good portion of the day clearing out this cave with little conversations...

A flick of her HUD upward as a reply comes through.

"Her name was Celeste? Interesting, I will look into it. See what you can learn, I appreciate it Sam."

With a silent nod, she closed her HUD. She would do just that. Gain knowledge that might help. It might be a bit hard given Celeste personality. Walking back to the rock still concealed, she slips through the hole in pure silence. The girl was nowhere to be seen and neither was her familiar, but she felt it was safe to assume that she walked through the cavern. Heading down the single path she hears clashing of weapons the echoes through the walls. A short jaunt away, she appears beside an enemy and cuts clean through it with her Ax in hand now. "I use that book to gather information on different floors. This being one I haven't looked all the way through yet." Saying this with a grin as she walks further into the cave. "The tougher ones are down this way."

Getting to the top and back into the yellow mist she vanishes. Pulling out her black book she stares at it for a moment before placing it back into her bag. Taking a deep breath she walks further into the mist to conceal herself from anyone view. Opening her HUD, opening her messages and composes one to Raidou:

With the chime of her HUD the message was sent. She then mutes the volume on her HUD. She did not know if such things were connected but she was far from letting this go. She knew better than to just assume that it was nothing. Nothing was never just nothing... Taking a deep breath, she would stay out here just a bit longer to see if it was important enough for a man as busy as him to rely to such thing.

Out in the middle of a forest, vanishing connecting her weapon against a tree as her new found skill activates. Tree's couldn't bleed, but she felt it activate. She grins and goes again. She was practicing her new skills to make sure she knew what she was doing when she entered combat again with the guild. After a few more rounds she hears a chime from her HUD. Breathing hard, stopping to look at the message. It was from Eruda... Another quest. "Perfect," she says closing her HUD and doing the rotation one more time. 

Heading to the guild hall first to grab a few buffs. Walking out and munching on them quickly. She didn't have time to waste right now. Heading to floor 12 now, the swamp lands, fun. She knew where she was heading after this quest. A step to the gate as she lands to floor 12. Seeing Eruda, she gets a quest share and a party invite. She was on her game today. Without a word and by the fact that Eruda wasn't moving on yet, she knew that she was waiting for another person.

Sam looks down the hole she came from after hearing a screeching sound, seeing the red slime looking thing slither past her going into pure rage mode, growing larger than first sight as jagged teeth are exposed from the maw that formed wide. The noise it made was a terrifying sound itself. Hearing the girl call out and then eventually getting inside the cavern. Sam's thought instantly go back to that day, to this cave where Raidou found his black slime. Sam's chest becomes heavy just thinking about it. "Your familiar I assume," she says not letting her emotions through... "Shit, I'll be right back. I forgot my note book. Go through that entrance over there. You will find a bunch of creature's to lay your weapon into. 10 minutes, don't wait up I will find you..." she says climbing back up the hole she came from...  

A shift of light change as she enters the area. She had one place in mind on this floor. The cavern that Raidou showed her. She had only been here a few times hell just the other day with her guild. "Hey, I have somewhere I want to show you. I have been wanting to check deep within this place and what better time to do it than now." Sam heads toward the rock. The white mist that overlaid across this area. "Keep up, don't get lost," she was the one leading now. Quicker than before as she knew her way around this area. The large boulder, she moves to its side, revealing a hole within it. She glances back to the girl in red before sliding inside the medium sized hole. Landing on her feet, she inhales deep. A familiar smell washes over her as she glances around. A shift of her feet as to move so she didn't get hit when the girl came down. 

Sam starts to walk toward Celeste, it was a nice name. Some how it fit her stature. She agrees to fight with her, good. This would give her a chance to help out the guild. "So, since you don't need the loot, could I keep it? You can take the money amount we get." Walking down the step, this girl was fast. Being so tiny she would have thought the opposite, but it clearly wasn't the case here. Sam quickly shifts through her menu sending the girl a party invite. She was unsure what to think of this girl, but she seemed to be better quipped than most she had seen. Celeste got around and that was something that she could respect. They get to the warp gate and she knew if this girl was smart she would know to go to floor 21 to grind. Sam steps to the gate saying "Floor 21" as her form vanishes and her feet land to solid ground.  

A small huff, she didn't want another Freya thing to bite her in the ass because she said the wrong thing. Getting to her feet, "Sam, my name is Sam. What is yours?" She walks to the girls side. She couldn't help but look at her outfit, how it fit so perfectly on her tiny frame. It looked sorta like Eruda's works, the unique threading that Eruda used and the small zigzag stitches. The x fabric across the back of hers. It really was a remarkable piece. "Hey, who made your armor." It really wouldn't surprise her if she did make it. She was amazing at what she did even though she isn't a high level in it. She began to wonder if it was something that Eruda had done back home before this. It would explain why she is so good at it.  "You know I could help ya out with the fighting thing. The creatures might be a bit higher level, but I think that we can handle them."  

Steal her kill, that was not what she was trying to do. Only give her assistance. She now knew that it was a mistake doing so. The short red head stood right in front of her. It seemed to Sam like she felt like she was being bullied of some sort. She had to defuse the situation somehow. Getting down to her knees, becoming the same height as her for now. "I can assure you that it was not my intention to take the kill. Just to finish the quest and move to another. I did not mean to make you feel what you are now. I am sorry. You can have all the rewards in this quest, my portion. I do not need it. If you want to fight, then send a dual request, but I can assure you that it will not be an efficient value of either of our times..." She was not very good with talking to people, only communicating and stating the facts even if it sounds wrong or weird at first. She did not want to fight, but if it came down to it she would... She was really hoping that wasn't the case though.

Sam was still getting used to working with others, but apparently not everyone could be as nice as the people in Firm Anima. "Someone just trying to do the same quest you are. It was already in my plans for the day and these things only spawn once every hour." It was clear the Sam that she might have pissed this girl off by attack what she thought was hers and only hers. Her HUD chimes from the quest finishing in unison with hers. "You can get these low level quests done fast with a team. That Axe of yours makes me believe you are of the same caliber of skills as me, I am betting that I am more powerful than you right now, at least for now." She pauses for a moment to sorta catch her breath. "Sam..." she realized now that her overanilyzing trait might have set in again. She knew that yelling was going to happen, but she yelled first...

Sam shakes her head as well. Even though she was at her computer all the time, she never really ate unless food was brought to her. Perfect teeth came naturally because of this. Sam never was very fond of sweets to be honest. She orders a chef salad and a steak for the big man before the waiter leaves. "So Griswold, you working on anything," she knew that everyone was hard at work. Sam was busy getting out in the open trying to get her level higher and practicing the new skills she gets as they roll into her inventory. It was a nice change of pace from when she got her. Sitting around doing nothing but looking for her friends. It was a complete waste of time, but she was glad to hear from Lium when she did. Her heart still hurt from the news of the murder fest, but she would always remember them

Sam just lets the boob thing slide. She was going to be a married woman soon, the thing that bothered her is that it didn't bother her... Why. Was it because is was Shiina and she does whatever, whenever. Watching Shiina run off, but toward the settlement this time she gives out a small huff. She starts walking and meets up with Griswold. "So little Shiina is a pure healer/ tank and amazing with numbers. Who knew right... I promised her cupcakes. You want to tag along. I could get you something hardy to chew on..." She gives the offer out as she starts to walk in the direction that Shiina went. That girl is smart, but when it came to caution of any kind, she was something else. 

Sitting at the table while Shiina bangs on the table in demand of little cake treats, she gets a waitresses attention to do just that. "So Shiina, do you have any brothers or sisters. Please tell me they are not like you." To be honest that would be a bit terrifying. Sam thinks about little Shiina's running around the house that never stayed clean...Ever...  

Exiting out with the group, the cave did have a very good chance of just breaking down right there. From the amount of action that went on in there, she was surprised that it stayed upright while they were still in there. Her eyes shift to Eruda. She was right, after all this time she has finally found a place where she feels like she would fit right. "I really couldn't have done it without you Eruda. Thank you for everything that you have done to get me here." Sam pulls Eruda into a hug now. Raidou may have introduced Eruda to her, but all the way through no matter what happened, she was there helping Sam out. A glance to Kasumi, "I really am excited to be working with you and I am looking forward to what we might be able to do. Setsuna too..." Most of all she was proud of herself. With a little push from the guild and Lium she was able to get back to where she once knew. She finally felt herself in her own skin. 

Eventually they all split to do their own thing, but today meant a lot to Sam.

The moment Kasumi springs off his neck, Sam quickly analyzes the creature as she sees his head bend back. The neck... and within seconds she was there in a flash of pure white light. Using the momentum up her oh so very large Axe she chops it straight into his exposed neck like a tree she was trying to put down. His body falls limp against the walls as Shiina's music echoes in ripples around them. Sticking her foot against the shoulder of the troll, she pries her axe out of the neck. Data starts to pour out of the wounds on his body. She steps back a few paces and turns to the group behind her. A smile curves on her face as she listens to the symphony playing still as it seems to be getting lower and lower and then eventually stops. A small chuckle and a breath outward. "We did it guys..."

Seeing Kasumi off balance only slightly, she was unable to act with her. She looks to the large ugly beast assuming it was his fault. A deep red coloring pulses from her weapon. Right then she disappears and reappears next to his foot where she dug her axe into. Instead of an outcry of pain, it was pure rage. It bangs its knuckles against each wall on either side of his fist with a large roar that causing the cavern to tremble. It was getting dangerous, Sam gets out of view but peaking around the corner she saw its entire body change from green to red. "Welp," Sam says backing around the corn she found. Taking a deep breath she was relying on Eruda now. Maybe she would use something that she barely used. She has a stun doesn't she. Sam closes her eyes as she feels the cove shake.

Sam's eyes widen just a bit as she listens to Shiina explain everything... She was wondering why Raidou had put her in O&I, well she just found out why... Sam was wrong and as much as she wanted to deny this factor, she couldn't. Sam gives a sigh, saying "Okay, well that was very unexpected. I am sorry for I guess judging you. I should know better, but I guess not." Sam chuckles a bit. She now knew that Shiina was a very huge health monkey that was amazing with numbers, which Sam would have figuring all of this out if she took the time to run the numbers herself. "Will you forgive me if I get you another batch of cupcake overflowing with tiny candies of yumminess?" She hoped that Shiina wasn't too butt hurt about her very bad assumptions. She was now wondering who all knew about this little thing that Shiina seemed to keep to herself. Who else had judged her for being the way she was... The questions just seemed to rack up one by one the more she thought about it.

Russling of the bushes around them, this place was all too familiar. A different texture of the ground below them as Shiina runs right passed it after getting herself all wrapped up. Sam takes her weapon out as she gets to a knee and observes the ground. Darkened leaves, she plucks one as they turn to dust in her fingers. "This is the place. Shiina," she calls out. No answer as she looks forward standing to her feet. Sam sees Shiina who wasn't paying any attention... Just meters from her the bushes and branches we being pushed away by something large and it was heading right toward Shiina. "SHIINA," Sam screams out panicking just a bit as she vanishes.

Appearing between Shiina and the large tiger looking creature, her Battle Axe goes straight for his chest and kills him out right. It bursts into data as it was literally inches from biting at her. "What the hell were you thinking. Running out here with no one with you. I don't care if you have armor or not you are not a tank. What if there was something out here larger than what were aiming for or worse. You are not invincible even with those heals of yours..." Sam yells at her in desperation and hope that something got through to her. This was a dangerous world be in alone... The players on the monument proved that, hell her no longer living friends proved that...

As the large thing gets hit hard, Kasumi standing there readying another swipe, he cries out in irritation as he tries to club down on Kasumi. Sam vanishes, taking out her weapon and reappears carving downward into its arms that would do her harm. He stumbles back arms raised now in anger. "You ready?" A glance to Kasumi and a word as she lands to the ground next to her. She had watches Kasumi and Setsuna act like bolts of lighting colliding together last time. She was ready to do just that if Kasumi was. To team up and kill this thing as fast a possible so that it couldn't do much harm. Ugzeke bangs his fist against the walls around him. The ground below them shake a bit before a few pebbles fall from the ceiling above. Another glance to Kasumi with a stern look before she vanishes...

Ugzeke Confused?: If Ugzeke rolls a CD of 3 or below, he has no action, despite his roll as he has difficulty seeing his enemies, and thinks that they are just stone

Seeing Shiina pop in... Where did she come from. Eruda gives her the glowstone. Good... Seeing Eruda again is a nice pace. The other day that she and Freya spend with her, it was very enlightening. I cleared her mind up of anything she previously thought about Freya. Glancing around, she only saw them. That to her meant they were still waiting for one other person for this quest to show up. Getting to her knees now by Raserei, she begins to pet her with Shiina. "How have you been..." asking Shiina while Raserei was just going berserk with all the attention that she was getting. The wolf starts rolling around on her back and then suddenly goes limp as Sam starts to rub her tummy. "That feel good," Sam coo's out at her like talking to a baby. Something about Raserei was relaxing. Enjoying the blue wolves present was oddly comforting, maybe it because that is how Eruda brings herself off to be. Calm and collected... Sam glances to Eruda with a smile.

Showing Griswold the works, he looked like he was almost in shock from being able to work his menu now. The super active Shiina was desperate to get out and going. Sam couldn't help chuckle at the both of them. It was amusing at the very least. "Happy to help," she says looking to Shiina now. "Okay, no more sugar for you little miss. You are right though, lets get moving. This quest won't do itself." Sam starts to walk out the gates as she pulls out her book full of different context. It was clear that she had still a lot of quests to do and this was one more step toward the final step. She needed to push herself just a bit more to gain those levels needed. So she would be able to wield something larger that this Axe that Griswold had made for her. Maybe she would change her other gear too when this happened to fit her new skills she was planning on getting. She hoped that he would make her next weapon, or at least reinforce it to her liking. She follows the marker toward their destination while reading her book, but keeping her eye on the map.
