Miaki watched with excitement as the bull's HP entered the red zone. "Atta girl Haine!" He dashed in, switching with Haine and attempted to follow up her attack. He lunged forward but the bull was already in full motion and his attack missed. He cursed under his breath. "So close!"

Kane struggled to get out from underneath the immense beast, and then he felt Haine strike it swiftly with her blade. Avoiding Miaki's attack, the boss was forced to get up and move, taking the pressure off of Kane. Breathing deeply, Kane rolled forward to where his sword was stuck into the ground. Grasping the hilt, he dashed forward, activating his <> once more!

Unfortunately, the boss was frenzied now, and it leapt nimbly out of the way as Kane zipped by.

(Boss Turn)

Down to the red, the boss roared its defiance at the players who had the nerve to come and face him. Bucking and snorting, it charged as fast as it could at Haine, points of its horns forward!

Fortunately for Haine, the boss was frenzied, and in its haste to charge at her, its long, sharp horns missed her by a decent margin, leaving room for her to attack it as it went by.

This was serious now! So she wanted to kill this boss fast! And so she took another deep breath before cautiously charging at the monster, attempting a powerful swipe.

Result: 5 (Dodge .-.)

"Dang it!" she cursed as the boss dodged her attack and chased her for quite a while before stopping to catch its breath.

"Its gettin' rogue!!!" she hollered as she ran back to where Miaki was, watching the boss's every move.

"Haine! Switch out! Leave the rest to us!" Haine was out, Miaki could see that the battle was starting to become frustrating. He knew that it would be better for her to drop back instead of keep in the fray and get caught up in things. So he made the call and asked her to pull back.

Miaki refocused and charge the bull which hadn't been damaged since he last struck it. Unfortunately he missed his mark when trying to re-coordinate with Kane on positioning around the boss.

Kane saw Haine withdraw, knowing that it was just up to him and Miaki now. He called to his ally, "Here's the plan: Stay mobile, attack from both sides, don't give it a stationary target. Confuse it!

Dashing to the beast's left flank, Kane side-stepped a flailing horn, and attempted to bring his sword down on the beast's neck.

Drawing another glowing red line across the beast's neck and back, Kane circled around it, attempting to avoid its deadly rampage.

The boss was on its last legs, but that didn't mean it would go down without a fight. Turning its head, it tried to rake Kane's torso with a horn as he passed.

As opposed to merely raking him, the bull got lucky, skewering Kane through the shoulder, then shaking its head to toss him over his back, where he landed in a heap.

Kane: 9/15

Miaki: 15/5

Boss: 3/15

"Here's the plan: Stay mobile, attack from both sides, don't give it a stationary target. Confuse it!"

"RIGHT!" Miaki shouted as he ran around clockwise to keep the boss's algorithms guessing. He saw Kane's HP bar turn yellow as he took another hit. Miaki took the opportunity to swipe at the bull's backside while it was distracted and made his mark. The bull was red lining. Another critical hit and it would be downed and this fight would be over.

Kane saw Miaki score another hit on the boss monster. His own HP was in the yellow now... it had never been this low before. Kane considered the fact that he could possibly die if fortune wasn't on his side, but he shook his head and cleared his mind: Now was the time for action.

Ignoring the hole in his shoulder where the Bull's horn had gored him, Kane grasped his sword, charging up his most experimental sword skill, <>.

Because of the length of Kane's blade, the strike that landed on the boss fell in just the right spot. His blade glowed red as he leapt over the beast's head, bringing his blade down on the boss' neck, landing behind it.

-SNICKT!-

A critical hit! The Bull's head slid from its shoulders as the great-sword cleaved it through. Finally, although Kane's HP was almost down to half, the boss had been defeated. As its body disappeared, the words <> floated above where it had once stood. Kane flopped down backwards, his heart racing after such a battle.

Miaki was panting a little but no where near as much as Kane was. He collected himself rather quickly and walked over to Kane still trying to breath. Patting him on the back Miaki said in between light breaths. "Nicely done! Good finish. You trying a new move out I take it?"
