Xion watched as the other members of the group went about taking down the mobs with relative speed, the four Lions being taken out efficiently. "Alright, let'd hope that the rest of this dungeon is as easy as these four were..." Xion said as he lead the others further into the dungeon, the tank once again finding a group of lionesses. "Ok, ready for round two?" he asked the others before howling at the beasts, the four of them leaping at him angrily their claws scratching against his armour with little effect, his HP draining slightly as they were punished by his thorns for attacking him. "Let's hope the boss is this easy" he said as his HP regenerated.

OOC: Sorry... Had net problems...
OOC2: More net problems...

Once the group finishes off the group of mobs, Xion leads them farther into the dungeon. Soon after, another set of mobs flying right them. Xion quickly grabbed their attention as the wanderer starts rushing at the nearest one. As the wanderer drew his blade, it began to glow crimson. "«San Ge»" He says under his breathe and then leaps forward. Just like before, the wanderer finishes off the first mob in a multitude of crimson slashes. The wanderer slowly sheathes his blade as he looks back to the group as they take care of the rest of the mobs. His energy pool has finally depleted. Although his damage can keep up with the best of them, his energy pool can't keep up just yet.

"Next group already? Heh, we're certainly moving fast."

With Rain finishing off another lioness Calrex focused on the second, already prepared with his <<Meteor Break>> attack. Rocketing forward with <<Charge>> he closed the distance and slammed into the creature before rapidly cutting left, right, up, down, and all other directions with the Grand Blade II.

With the conclusion of his barrage the creature hanged in the air for a second, being overlaid with a distorted blue filter, then bursting into crystals. Flicking his sword to the side the bluenette gave a small sigh, "Alright, next one!"

They were certainly moving fast, having already cleared six monsters in less than two full party rotations. It was a strong party that Oikawa had gathered today, one that would make this dungeon and chest search party a breeze. However, that didn't mean the bluenette wasn't prepared. He still had his alternate set of gear at the ready should they encounter any speedier foes.

"Come to think of it, the Aegis Armament is much like a defensive version of Oikawa's own gear, kind of like a fusion between his and Tristan's equipment."

Baldur watched as Xion engaged another group of the Nimean Lionesses, the others following quickly behind him and taking out the Lions, one after another. As they were all engaged, however, Baldur saw something in the distance. Just behind, another pair of the Lionesses came stalking along.

"Patrol!" Baldur called out as he dove into the fray. He tried to time it right, waiting for the 2 new mobs to get close enough that he could AoE them, but not enough for them to get an attack off on anyone in the fray already.

"I got'em!" crouching down into his <<charge>> skill, Baldur flew past the others and into the middle of the lions as he activated his rarely used <<Amatsu No Homura>>, his blade glowing with azure light as he quickly ripped through the four mobs, his orange and blue figure dancing among them as they shattered into polygons.

10/10 Dungeon Mobs killed

Ten lioness' had been slain in mere moments as the group cleared the dungeon. Each feline being felled one after the other with each swipe of his teams blade. Oikawa smirked as Xion seemingly did his role rather well. Not to bad for a tank, not to bad at all. And Rain is no slouch either. At this rate we should find the dungeon boss room in no time. However...

"ROOOOOOAR"

We will have to deal with them first, thought the blonde as five more mobs bared their teeth at the group. "Looks like we have some more sacrifices. Lets clean them up quickly and find this rumored chest. I imagine we can take these things and whatever boss Aincrad plans to generate." Rotating his rapier in hand, Oikawa spun the blade before suddenly stopping it and pointing it at the pack of lions. "Mongrels," was all that was uttered before a charged Twilight Resurrection rained down upon four of the five lions.

"Xion go on the offensive!"

Xion smiled as the other members of the group went about dispatching the Lionesses with speed and precision, the tank admiring the amount of damage that the others were able to do with relatively little effort. "It's to be expected..." he muttered to himself as the last of their enemies was killed by Baldur. "I'm standing next to three DPS builds and the highest level player in the game, my damage is bound to be pathetic compared to them". Snapping his head in the direction of some Lionesses as they appeared Xion instantly began to ready a howl, but  before he could Oikawa had already attacked four out of the five Lionesses and ordered Xion to attack. "Offensive?" he asked the blonde with a chuckle. "Oikawa you're going to be disappointed, tier one players can do more damage than me" he said before running at the Lionesses, swinging his glaive downwards at one of the beasts that Oikawa had attacked but the animal dodged his blow easily.

The wanderer watched as the battle ensued. His group was taking out the mobs of creatures left and right as if it was an easy task. Well, of course the task itself would be easy for the rest of the crew, but not for the wanderer. These creatures were way above his normal level so they were somewhat of a challenge. He can take them on 1 on 1, but in groups, not so much.

As the wanderer stood there, he glanced at his energy pool which was slowly regening. As the group went on, it felt like they haven't gotten a chance to really stop and rest - which the wanderer desperately needed. He sheathed his blade and kept his distance from the ensuing battle, making sure to not take any agro from the mobs, his only focus right now was to regen his energy back up, before they reached the boss' room.

"Don't worry Xion, I've got you guys covered."

Speeding by the team's tank Calrex leapt upwards as the Grand Blade II crackled to life with a electrical blue aura, the signifier of his <<Lightning Fall>> attack, hovering over the four creatures that Oikawa had damaged. Right as he reached the center of the lioness' the bluenette triggered his <<Charge>> skill, shooting down to the ground like a comet, his sword piercing into the ground. Lightning energy blasted out in four directions, ripping through the monsters as they immediately burst into crystals on impact.

Getting back to his feet Calrex gave a small sigh of relief, extracting his weapon out of the ground, "Alright, four down. Baldur, go for the last one!"

"Dang, that was a nice haul from that attack. Must have gotten lucky this time around. Hopefully we'll be able to find some more interesting stuff with this dungeon."

Baldur watched as the rest of the party save himself and Rain charged into the next wave of foes. It annoyed Baldur that his sword arts were so thirsty for energy that he couldn't do anything now but watch. He knew the rapier was not an ideal AoE weapon, but Oikawa used it and crit at the same time, making it incredibly effective. Followed by Calrex's own AoE, they were able to knock down another entire group. Only one Lioness remained, and Calrex called Baldur to finish it off.

He really wished he could.

Ready to do what he could, Baldur crouched down and activated <<Charge>> flying towards the final Lioness as he put every bit of energy he could into his final attack, activating <<Wa Shu>> and bringing the glowing blade down to bare on the monster. His attack did a considerable amount of damage to the Lioness, but after they had continuously one shot the creatures, this left him more than a little disappointed.

"Clean up on aisle seven!" He called back to Oikawa, his friend would easily be able to finish the beast off while Baldur prepared to evade an attack.

One by one, the felines were felled; leaving all but one for the blonde to finish off. As Baldur called out to him, Oikawa was already on the offensive as he dashed forward and cleared the gap between himself and the sole lioness. Arm cocked back, a faint glow surrounded his rapier as a rush of golden energy enveloped him. Six quick thrusts rapped the torso of the nimean before causing it to pixelate and disperse into date before them. Sheathing his own blade, he smirked as he collected his loot from the beast. "I hope everyone is tally there wares. Hopefully this chest, if proven to be real, will boost your gains significantly, if nothing else. We know we need to put the picking skill to better use."

Taking a breather, he continued. "Rest and regain energy, the boss and the chest are surely ahead."

  • 2 weeks later...

In a flash, Oikawa manages to finish, what seems to be, the last of the mobs needed to unlock the boss' Room. "S-sorry I had to pull back at the end there..." The wanderer hesitant and quietly said. He had no plans of getting carried and he had wanted to carry his own weight, but nearing the end of the fighting, the wanderer had to pull back and keep his distance. His energy had gone awfully low already, to the point where he was just nothing but a punching bag. The wanderer slowly walks back to the group who seemed to finally began resting. "I lost count, was that the last mob we needed to open the boss' room?" He asked Oikawa, who took out the last of the mobs. The wanderer still was somewhat hesitant in his words since he was the lowest level, but he tried his best to carry his own self without holding anyone back.

(2 Posts Until Full Energy Recovery / 1 Recovered)

"Sounds good. If anything else shows up I can take care of it while you guys recover."

With the enemies dealt with the group appeared to switch to resting to regain their energy. It would only be a few moments before they were back at full strength, something that would be required to take on whatever sub-dungeon boss the seventeenth floor had in store. The creature would likely be the strongest one faced so far that wasn't considered a floor boss, and something that would require everything they've got. Hopefully, the reward would be worth the trial as well.

Calrex scanned the area calmly as he watched a single point of energy return to his total, the flash of his blue bar indicating the first third of the recovery time was completed. Flipping the Grand Blade II into a reverse grip he slid it back into its sheath on the back of his hip, giving a small calming breath before putting his hands into his jacket pockets, "Any idea on what might be in that chest? I have a sneaking suspicion it might not be something of unique level, since those tend to only drop from floor and event bosses."

Baldur smiled at his friends as they cleaned up the last of the mob and then proceeded to rest. Well, really, it was almost entirely for Baldur and Rain's benefit. The others didn't really need it. He could hardly fathom how much energy Calrex and Oikawa must have. He couldn't wait to get up into the 50s, where he would have enough energy to be able to fight through several groups of mobs without bottoming out his energy pool.

"Thanks Cal." he told the bluenette as he volunteered to watch the group. Sheathing his sword, Baldur sat down and placed his back against the wall. He didn't need to quite 'catch his breath' as you would in the real world, but there was something about the action that told the mind this was a period of 'rest' and helped to change the gears.

"I don't really care what's in the chest, I'm really just interested in materials, since I need them to get more consumables for the boss fight."

Who knew what the floors above this one would require of them, but Baldur was determined not to be left unprepared for the next boss fight. Not like last time, or the time before that.

Turning to face Rain, the crimson eyed youth spoke as he subsequently checked his vitals. "No worries man. You're still but a buddling in an ever expanding forest. No need to apologize. And as for your question Cal, I have no clue what's actually in the chest aside from the rumored Col. Possibly items and or materials as well. Unique items would just be icing on that ever-lasting cake hehe." He knew he really didn't need that much rest but rather than run out because he wasn't at max, he figured it'd be a safer bet to just recharge. "Everyone almost ready to go? My reserves are almost back and it will be getting late here soon."

Xion watched as the others took down the last of the mobs that they needed to kill to enter the boss room, the blonde smiling as he looked to the others, some of which seemed a tad tired, but that was to be expected to an extent as they were facing one of the harder types of dungeons. "This was easier than expected...although to be honest I didn't expect anything really so that statement is sort of redundant..." the tank said to the others with a small chuckle as he sighed and leaned against the walls of the dungeon, idly drawing in the ground with the blade of his glaive, cutting a neat "X" into the earth with a small smile. "Anyway, I assume that we're nearly ready to take on whatever beast awaits us yes?" he asked the others as he adjusted his grip on his weapon. "Hopefully we can kill this boss quickly and get some SP, not to mention loot if we find a chest"

Baldur nodded at Xion's comments, trying to rest while also keeping the corner of his eye on his energy gauge. He was a bit fatigued by all of the back to back combat, but they had made great headway against tremendously powerful creatures. They were essentially on the frontier of Aincrad and they were going after something no one else had ever achieved before. Hopefully the rewards would be worthwhile, but even if they weren't, the experience would be, and the chance to work and practice with some of the best players in the floating castle was priceless. Especially if Baldur was going to remain on the frontline.

"You know, I don't think I've ever asked you guys before. Which was your first boss on the frontline? Mine was going to be the 11th floor boss, but instead ended up being Rohk." It was an ill fated boss fight so he pushed on, "And then now Leonidas. I don't know why I skipped the ones in between."

The wanderer kept his eyes pierced at his HUD. He was anxious for this dungeon boss fight. It wasn't because this was his first dungeon boss or anything, but more on the fact that this would be the highest leveled boss, he's ever dealt with. As the wanderer's mind wandered off, he flips back into reality when the group began talks of the treasure in the chest and that there could be a unique item inside. "If there were uniques in that chest, that'd be awesome if you can get some kind of phase weapon" The wanderer thought to himself, or so he thought he was thinking it. For nth time, he mind has managed to trick him into saying what he was thinking - which was odd for this has only been happening recently. Without another second thought, words flew out of the wanderer's mouth, trying to play it cool and act like he meant to say those words. "Call me greedy, but if If i could get my hands on a phase weapon, I'd be dealing with less tanks trying to duel me in the arena."

As the talks went on, Baldur drops a question, that's been somewhat lingering the wanderer's mind. Floor bosses. He's been somewhat hesitant to join the frontlines so far since he wasn't sure if he himself can handle all the damage that was heading their way. I mean, he was still new, but he was still a budding playing back then when he had heard news of the Rohk boss, who managed to kill a good amount of people. Hesitant, the wanderer spoke his mind. "I haven't actually joined any floor bosses yet. I was thinking of joining the next one, but I'm still not entirely sure if my armor's beefy enough. I have the damage, but the survivability.. I don't know.." Just as the wanderer finishes his words, he spots in the corner of his eyes that his energy's full. "Looks like my energy's ready." He says without hesitation.

"A phase weapon would certainly be useful, especially if we have to go up against any monsters which have a ridiculous amount of mitigation. Heh, it's be like fighting a monster of Tristan, right Oikawa?"

Calrex gave a small laugh, acknowledging Rain's wishes. The statement had reminded him of the S&Z tournament, where he had dueled Tristan. Even then the Azure Brigade tank was formidable, even though the Ultramarine Knight himself was many levels above. The redhead had specialized specifically in mitigation and retaliation damage enhancements, so in many cases he was compared to a metal cactus, impossible to break through and painful to hit. He himself had initially gone with a bruiser build, blending offense, evasion, accuracy, and defense, but against the specialty of Tristan's arsenal, he unfortunately couldn't break though. Add to that the man had originally bore the <<Achilles>> unique skill, which only bolstered his defenses even more. Having inherited that skill, Calrex felt to some level that he needed to try and fill the seat Tristan had left open in the frontlines.

"My first battle? I think it was the eleventh floor raid. Of course, that one was a bit of a joke. We had a fairly large party assembled, but then the boss was eliminated in the span of two parties taking their turn. I didn't even get a chance to act, heh."

Looking at his energy once more he saw the second blink, meaning that it would only be another moment before he was back to full stamina.

OOC: Xion should post after me then I will post again to roll for the chest. Regardless whether we get anything or not we will spawn the dungeon boss and close this up.

"Oh man, Tristan as a mob would be painful to deal with hehe. But yeah a phase weapon would be extremely nifty." Turning to Baldur, Oikawa paused a moment as he thought on his first actual raid boss. His lips parted, quick to spin the same words as Baldur but then he remembered he had been in one fight before that. "It would seem my first battle was the fight for floor fourteen against Avarious. I had initially planned to join the eleventh floor raid but I had taken sometime away from the frontlines causing me to miss both the eleventh and the twelfth raid."

Pressing up, the blonde spotted a side tunnel along the walls and gestured to it. "Has that always been there? I'm going to check it out." With that, he stood and inched off towards the tunnel.

(Energy Fully Recovered)

"No worries man. I'm sure a lot of the frontliners had a lot going on, so taking a break is understandable."

"With the way everyone interacts with each other certainly can attest to that. Sometimes I wonder if I'm at a frontlines meeting, or a preschool. I know a lot of the players are younger than me, but sometimes I question if I'm just mentally older, or they're mentally younger."

Looking over as Oikawa headed towards a nearby tunnel Calrex kept his eyes on him, as well as the surroundings. It wouldn't be uncommon for monsters to be lurking out of sight, but close enough to spring an ambush on an unaware player. He knew the self-titled Faint to be fairly observant, just like how he was, but he also knew that in spite of having skills like <<Reveal>> monsters still find ways to get the jump on you. "Sure thing Oikawa. Let us know if you encounter anything."

Glancing at his energy one more time he saw the rest of it get refilled, bringing him back to full stamina. At this point he was ready to do battle once again. The only question was where the chest they were looking for was located, and was it guarded.
