Xion 0 Posted August 30, 2016 #41 Report Share Posted August 30, 2016 Xion chuckled awkwardly in response to Hakai, he felt bad that he had made the girl feel awkward due to his own insecurities and weaknesses. "I shouldn't have lashed out like that...I'm sorry" he said before turning to Hikoru as the player disappeared into the shadows around them, the player's unique doing it's job. "Well then, let's not let him get too far ahead" Xion said with a smile as he began to walk a little and search for the dungeon, his eyes scanning the area around them thoroughly. Although the tank didn't have to search for long, Hikoru returned after a short amount of time and told the two about the location of the dungeon. Xion nodded. "I'll be as fast as I can" he said before jogging in the direction that Hikoru had told them, while the tank was capable of short bursts of speed in combat, he was still weighed down by his armour and took a few minutes to get there. Hakai 0 Posted August 30, 2016 #42 Report Share Posted August 30, 2016 Hakai meandered after Xion, after he said to they shouldnt let him get too far ahead. He was quite slow with all of that armor of his and she didnt find it very hard to keep up. They made it to the dungeon pretty quickly, although nowhere near the speed at which Hikoru had. She was glad that they were going to get more skill points, and hopefully with what they got from this quest and dungeon she would be able to get to tier two equipment and join the front lines. She adjusted her grip on her weapons, the demonics comforting her by feel alone. She'd never done a dungeon before, but she was certain that she could do this with Xion and Hikoru's help. Still, more than that she was nervous of not being able to help at all during the upcoming fights, just like she hadnt been able to do anything in the boss fight itself. As they did, he nodded and entered the Sub-Dungeon. The walls were made of dirt and stones, as if it was a part of an underground cavern area. He breathed and enteres as suddenly, torches lit across the room, filling the room with an ominous light. Hikoru looked to see a few Small Snakes surrounding the room, slithering around and soon four of them noticing the adventurers. Hikoru gave a grit of his teeth and unsheathed his Dagger, flipping it through his fingers then gripping the hilt tightly in a backwards grip "Great, just what I wanted. More snakes." He said sarcastically and breathed, unhappy with how this was going to turn out. WIth his luck, the boss of this would be another giant snake, and that wasn't something he was looking forward to. He turned to Xion and gave a nod "Grab Hate, leave the Rest to me and Hakai." "Let's deal with whatever's in here quickly. We've spent long enough on this floor and aI want to get some SP..." Xion said to the others as they walked in, the tank taking note of how the dungeon seemed to respond to the entrance of the players by lighting up the area. How considerate. Xion nodded to Hikoru as the player requested that he gain hate, the tank obliging and howling at the snakes, all of them attacking him in retaliation but missing horribly. That should pave the way for her own attacks. She doubted that she would suddenly have a giant increase in skill that would allow her to hit these evasive creatures, but she wasnt about to give up, especially since Xion was there. She didnt want to dissapoint him, and if she gave up it would be worse than if she had tried and missed. After this she was definitely going to go solo some quests, and when she saw Xion again she would be a ton stronger. She raised her claws and attempted to do an area based attack, but ended up completely missing all of the mobs. Her claws definately werent made for hitting multiple enemies. A bit dissapointed that she had yet to do anything the entire time she had been here, she stepped back to give Hikoru a chance to do his thing. Undoubtedly he would show her up with some flashy attack, not that she minded. It looked pretty awesome. But he did need to deal damage to multiple creatures, in which his small Aoe Attack could do. He breathed and made small tempests of air and easily dealing a good amount of damage to the creatures, at least a third of what they had. He breathed and gave a nod to the other two players "Alright, lets try and get this done as soon as we can. i've had all I can take of snakes." He said with a chuckle and sighed, looking at the two other allies with a smile and nod. These snakes were nothing, he just hoped that he wouldn't have to kill these creatures on his own, and deplete his energy very rapidly, as that wasn't on his plan of things to do anytime soon. The tank sighed, he had expected a result like that as cardinal wasn't all too kind when it decided which strikes found their marks and which didn't, and it definitely tended to prefer the latter. Next was Hikoru with his dagger, and, unsurprisingly the black haired master of shadows was able to land a decently powerful AOE attack on the creatures which was able to deplete a good chunk of their HP. "Good work Hik" he said before swinging himself, missing but the tank couldn't care less as the snakes fangs scraped harmlessly against his armour. "One more round should do it if we hit our attacks" he said before assuming a defensive position again. Well, quite a bit for what appeared to be a two hit move. She raised her claws again, no longer expecting to hit any of the monsters at all. She charged at the enemies and swung her claws, and as she had expected, she missed by quite a bit. Maybe she should have invested some col into accuracy equipment. It wasnt like that would help her damage effects though, so she didnt really see the point, not until she got more straight damage, which is what she was working on at the moment. She looked over at Xion, wondering if he was dissapointed in her combat ability or if he understood that she was trying her best. Either way she wouldnt be happy with it. He gave another laugh as his luck was back again, and he sighed and looked at the others, giving them a thumbs up "Alright, their just a few hits off of dead. Let's get this done guys!" He said with a small smile, sighing as he knew that they were that much closer to getting their Quest done, including this Sub-dungeon and getting a bunch of SP from it, and he was quite happy that he would be able to level up a level or two from this, but only time would tell. He breathed quietly and waited to see what Xion would do next, and if Hakai would deal any damage to the small creatures. Happens to the elite as well as the low levels..." he said before charging at the remaining snakes, swiping at one of them and hitting for one damage. "Pitiful..." the tank remarked before all of the snakes bit into him, Xion smiled as they HP dropped and they all exploded into crystals. "Now..." he said, walking further into the dungeon. And as of the moment, there wasnt anything to hit. She nodded to Xion. She didnt believe what he had said and continued to worry, but it wasnt like there was a remedy to that unless she actually got some meaningful attacks in. She gripped her claws more tightly, waiting patiently for the net chance to attack. She glanced over at Hikoru, who seemed pumped to continue into this dungeon and then looked back at her feet. He had been getting all sorts of critical hits. She wanted to be lucky like him in that respect; It was certainly something that her build required to be successful. He just sighed and looked back at the party, giving a small breath of annoyance as he moved in to take some damage off of a few of them. As he looked, he wanted to move forward, but something was stopping him. He couldn't put his finger on it, but he was... afraid. More than anything, fearful of dying from these simple snakes. Without a tank, he wasn't able to take much of a hit. He breathed quietly and felt himself shaking, and he did himself to stand firm and seem brave "Um... Xion, please gain some hate... Before I attack?" He said, breathing and trying to keep his voice as steady as he could. His fear of death was starting to overcome it, but he had to do his best to stay as strong as he could. He hid his emotions and gave the snakes cold, hating eyes. He was feeling fear from these creatures, and it must be from his Unique Skill no doubt. "Just don't worry...you do that too much" he said before chuckling a little,seeing how blunt his words were but shrugging as what was done was done. As the trio walked into the next area of the dungeon they were greeted by more snakes, which Xion could tell annoyed Hikoru before the tank could move the dagger user had already moved forwards but seemed to stop...out of fear, or some other unrelated reason. "Scared Hikoru...or have you been talking to him again?" the tank asked, he knew that only Hikrou would understand the last part but it was important, he didn't want his friend making the same mistakes that others had in the past. The tank then howled, the snakes instantly striking with their fangs and digging into his leg, doing a little damage and bypassing his thorns. She didnt really care that he thought that, she just cared about his overall impression of her. And whether or not he blamed her for missing, she was still impacting that overall impression in a negative way. She wasnt going to stand for that. And it was made even worse by the fact that they had someone with them who had never met her before, so she was making a bad first impression. And you never got a second chance to give a first impression. She was determined to get at least one good hit in. She charged at the snakes, slashing her claws in an outwards motion, catching four out of the six enemies. They were knocked back a good ways, giving the impression that she had hit harder than she had. The snakes recovered quickly and slithered back at them, although the green slash marks on their scaly bodies and the sizzling noise coming from them revealed the real truth, that they were poisoned and doomed to die. It was only a matter of time. She smirked and stepped back to let Xion do his thing. They were probably going to take a bit of damage, so he knew that he should try and finish the other creatures while he was there. he gave a small breath and looked at Xion and gave him a shake of the head "No, i'm just playing it safe is all." He said and looked at the last two remaining snakes "In fact." He believed the player mostly, but still had his suspicions. Either way, the tank had more pressing things to attend to, such as making sure that his allies weren't the targets of the snake's attacks. The deceptive reptiles slinked around them, their forked tongues slipping in and out of their mouths as they hissed. "Disgusting little creatures" he tank muttered before Howling at them loudly, their heads snapping to face him before lashing out, their fangs merely scratching the metal of his armour. Not a single point of damage was dealt, much to the tank's dismay. Luckily, Hakai's DOT activated and a large chunk of their Hp disappeared. "Good work Hakai..." Hikoru didnt really seem to realize the amount of damage the creatures were about to take, only giving a small smile, and that might not even be in reply to the status effects she had given the snakes. She would show him. According to her calculations she would reach tier two shortly after this adventure, and with that she would be doing double the damage. And that was plenty to earn the respect of any frontliner, or so she hoped. She smiled to Xion, glad that she hadnt dissapointed him the entire time that they were on this little adventure. She didnt really care what Hikoru thought about her combat abilities as long as he continued to ally with them. She cared what Xion thought though. She knew that he would stay her friend even if she did nothing the entire fight, but she wanted him to view her as a strong individual rather than one who always had to rely on others. She continued to stand behind Xion though, not seeing a need to rush in and attack again as long as her dots were in effect. Link to post Share on other sites

He gave a small sigh and looked forward, seeing something rising from the ground behind the snakes, but he couldn't make out what it was "Alright, we gotta kill these things and finish off the boss. No idea how long that will take, but lets keep going, were almost there." He said with a small smile and breathed. He knew that things were going well, he just had to keep up the fighting and they would be out of here in no time. He breathed and looked at his energy level, which was starting to run low. At a glance it seemed like the snakes were still feeling the effects of Hakai's DOT, which Xion knew would bring their HP into a kill-able level. "Alright, we're close it would seem" he said before the snakes struck him, leaping up and attacking the less heavily armoured joints of his armour, the tank's HP dropping slightly. "Damn it all, no thorns" he said before the snakes hissed and dropped to the ground, their HP being halved by Hakai's DOT. Xion grinned and held his shield up, watching his HP regen. He looked and grit his teeth as he did so. He was so close to defeating those snakes, but they were able to live, the little buggers. He breathed and looked at Hakai and just shrugged his shoulders "I wouldn't bother trying. They'll die in a few seconds, so let's just prepare to fight the boss. Make sure you got everything equipped." He said with a small breath and looked to see the snakes wallowing as they knew they were to die. He gave a small chuckle and breathed, preparing to move forward and finish the boss and be done with this adventure. He needed the SP that he would get from this adventure, as it would help him in the long run.
