Raidou lets it known who was with her and Sam for the second lesson quest. Walking from the guildhall after thanking Raidou for keeping his word about meeting everyone and a glance to Setsuna and Kasumi signaling she was ready. Her nerves were still on full panic but to hide it she quickly begins to walk toward the warp gate in the nearest town. Eruda really wants to make her first impression good for Setsuna and Kasumi. She is hoping that against all her odds she will do well on this quest and not make a fool of herself. Eruda gets to the warp circle saying "Floor 1" in a very quiet voice as her body turns to data and transfers to the designated floor. Heading straight for the Quest board she scans through the board quickly and takes the second lessons. Looking back not seeing any of her guild members or Sam around yet, Eruda sents Sam, Setsuna, and Kasumi a party invite and shares the quest with all of them. She never did this before but with her adrenaline pumping from her freak out state, she manages to figure it out with haste. Eruda remembers what Raidou was saying about working together. With a small frown, she also remembers Setsuna not being very welcoming coming to a small conclusion in her mind that may or may not be true. That Setsuna already hates her without knowing her. This just means to Eruda that she will have to work twice as hard to impress her. Raidou seemed to believe in Eruda more than she believed in herself but she was willing to put in the large effort that it would take to convince Eruda's mind otherwise.Eruda starts heading to the building to talk to this person that was needed to start the mission waits before walking in for the others to get here and accept the invites and quests before moving any further. While waiting she switches her armor off to her Ebon Tether - Beauty and ties her hair up with it. Sam 0 Posted May 2, 2020 #2 Report Share Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) Sam gets up from her chair after finishing her coffee and watching everyone talk to Eruda before they walked out like instructed by Raidou. Sam was so intrigued by Raidou's speech and was very curious about everyone. Eruda walks to her and tells her to come and Sam just raises a brow thinking okay. After Eruda equipped all her items Sam gets a better look at who Eruda would soon become. Eruda seemed to be super nervous still even after all the introductions and runs out. Sam at this point after equipping her new weapon was determined to help Eruda out. Seeing her run out Sam took just a bit of time to analyze who was still here. Thinking back to what Simmone had said to her before walking out really made Sam excited too. Simmone looked and acted like royalty which made Sam curious all the more as to why Simmone would put herself out like that. Sam would have to figure this out eventually but for now, she had a quest to complete. Looking at Raidou with a small nod knowing that they would meet up again in the near future for more gathering she begins walking to the front door. Standing in front of Kasumi and Setsuna with a smile painted across her face saying "I am Sam. It's nice to meet you both and I hope you take it easy on Eruda. She really is a great person from what I can tell. All I am saying is get to know her better first before making a huge judgment call" looking to Setsuna at this phrase. Walking past both of them out the doors, Sam receives a party invite and a quest share. "Wow already at it aren't you Eruda" saying as she accepts them both and starts making haste toward the warp gate. "Floor one" as her feet touch the pad and a force within carries her away to floor one. Sam opens her HUD and reads the quest with careful eyes making out every detail before meeting up with Eruda. After a moment of reading Sam walks to the building that was intended as finds Eruda waiting outside. "Eruda just do your best. You help me through your words last time, they will come around. Show them both that person and everything will be just fine" Sam says with confidence toward her believing in her just as much as Raidou seemed to. Sam walks passed Eruda through the doors and talks to Lyle Tealeaf. "Ahh back again to help me out I hope?" Lyle says with a raised brow. "Of course. I said I would be back and my word is always solid" Sam says with a smile. "Alrighty then! I need you to kill me some boar pups for their tusks. Bring me 3 of them and we will go from there." With a nod and a smile, Sam walks out of the shop to meet Eruda. "Have you talked with Lyle yet. If not, do that while we wait for the others okay?" Sam leans against the building waiting for Eruda and the others to do what needs to be done to start the quest. It would be wise to save your words as time is of the essence." Setsuna offered in a cold tone, seeming drained of personality on the phrase. Trailing to the warp gate herself with a soft murmur is the thing that takes her into the town of beginnings. She was not one for words and let her actions speak in its absence and as such only acknowledged the same. Slinking about the building while waiting, Setsuna was already prepared for the journey ahead and was awaiting them to be ready to move. To this end, a check of her gear and a quick withdrawal and peel of her eyes across the weapon to check for any catches in the blade. The others were sure taking their sweet time to finish up the easier part, this fact causing Setsuna to grow a bit restless as this was cutting into her training. A nod to Sam in agreement in an opposing opinion of Setsuna's "Agreed, if I've learned anything..." Kasumi says looking back at the walls of the guild before continuing "Is that you have no idea what someone is capable of by looks alone." Following along behind the others as they moved to the first floor into the tanned brick of Town of Beginnings. A beaten trail to Lyle's workshop allows Sam and Eruda to pick up the quest her and Setsuna had already undertaken and finished prior. A fact to which she was glad given she would not be forced to kill, but a nagging feeling of Raidou at the back of her mind fuels her to believe this wouldn't be his intention. She would have to fight alongside the pair, that was certain. Thinking back to what she told Sam exactly, Eruda decides to follow the same. Putting everything else out of her head Eruda closes her eyes for a moment and takes a deep slow breath. "I can do this! Just be me but better. I have to be better," Eruda says in a low voice trying to give herself words of confidence like she had done for Sam. Watching Sam was into the building and back out a few minutes later, seeing Sam walk back out with other words to say. With a small nod, Eruda walks into the blacksmith building from before and talks to Lyle about the quest. Coming back out a few minutes later she looks to Sam as her quest log updates. Looking to the other 3 that seem to be waiting on her she says "Let go get this done" as she looks to Setsuna with weary eyes really hoping that she didn't hate her. Eruda moves toward the exit of the beginning town into the grassy lands looking for the boar pups that Lyle expects them to kill to get their tusks. After a moment of glancing around the fields, she sees a set of four boar pups grazing in the distance. Eruda pulls her sword and shield out, ignoring the other 3 and starts running at the small boars. When Eruda closes in just enough to hit them she slows a bit and uses her momentum to spin with her sword in front, as her sword glows dark blue, cause a large slashing gash through the air toward the boar pups hitting almost all of them. Repositioning herself with her shield in front of her she screams out "NOW SAM" and she waits for the inevitable to happen. It seems as though putting her mind into fighting keeps her from thinking of everything else on her mind. Not seeing her fight before and seeing 3 of 4 sent to there grave Sam's eyes grow wide as she says "DAM! You got some skills. To think I thought you were just a pretty face with thoughtful words." Hearing Eruda scream out her focus turns to the last boar remaining. Running toward this boar pup with an upward slash in mind, Sam locates her axe close to the ground. The moment she is close enough, Sam swings upward causing the boar pup to explode into data. Standing upright she finds a few boar tusks laying about. "Well, that was eventful. Setsuna Kasumi can you find us more" Sam call out behind her hoping that the other 2 would hear her as she gathers her first tusk. Looking to Eruda saying "See you're not so bad. Convince them of that and everything will be just fine okay?" Sam smiles an places a hand on Eruda's shoulder for a few seconds for comfort reason and then start searching around for more pups. Setsuna 0 Posted May 4, 2020 #7 Report Share Posted May 4, 2020 A pleasant show leaves the first pack destroyed easily by the players she was convinced would drag it out, a fact she was glad to be wrong. Collecting a few tusks from the ground and updating the quest accordingly a chipper attitude beckon between them. "Keep your wits about you, more will spawn in a moment." Setsuna barked out with venom, as a relaxed tone between them caused a subtle disgust that did not bleed through her face "You have more to do, now is not the time for celebration." she remarks slipping into the brush to conceal herself and set up. She grew tired of the exposure and would be ready to strike if the situation demanded such for it was what she was good at. Kneeling down and shifting through the coverage, Setsuna places a hand on her handle and prepares for the worst in case it had come. Link to post Share on other sites
Kasumi 0 Posted May 4, 2020 #8 Report Share Posted May 4, 2020 Eruda and Sam seem to react and with little effort destroy the entire collection with two followed strikes. This leaves a few units of the required quest material for them to claim. A quick dispatch of the group in question has Kasumi gleaming with a cheer "Good job guys, this will be over before we know it!" joining in the small victory. This fact is broken by Setsuna souring the moment with spiteful words. "Pay her no mind, she's so..." Kasumi struggles to put it into words, as an insult was not something she was capable of doing. "They will respawn in roughly the same spot so keep on your toes." the blossom recalls from her own rendition of the task they were performing. A bluish light begins to cast silhouettes of the same creature as the cardinal system prepares to reshape more of them as if confirming the statements both the girls had offered. Eruda finishes Kasumi's sentence that went blank with a small voice saying "Disturbed." Sam and Kasumi seemed all happy go lucky but she knew that Setsuna was right. With almost unintentional glaring eyes she turns to the two and says in a calm voice "Setsuna's right. Focus! Now is not the time for chatter." Eruda hoped that her words didn't come out to rash but she was trying to focus on the only task that mattered at the time. Completing the quest was Eruda's number one priority right now. As both of them claimed another set of four boar pups show up in roughly the same spot. Setting everything else out of her mind she focuses on the boars. Using the same formation as before for the slash of light hits none of them. Eruda gets a bit mad and this as it seems as though they were more distracting than she had thought. Turning to Sam with angry glaring eyes now barking out "FOCUS SAM," as she sets her eyes back to the creatures that just spawned. Activating Farrant Full Moon! Eruda yells at her and Sam is shocked by how angry Eruda got by a simple conversation. Sam couldn't help but frown a bit and say "Sorry" as she prepares her attack toward all the boar pups. Sam places her axe to the ground and sets her eyes on the boars. Determining the distance between all of them, Sam walks to where she knows she had a chance to hit them all. With all her momentum and focus her Axe starts to glow red. With that, she swings upward toward all the boars with a noise that escapes her mouth. Sams weapon sents a long red gash through the air forward. Sam realizes that she hit only 2 and gained another boar tusk. Sam stays put and gets herself ready for another attack toward the boar pups knowing that Eruda was not in a talking mood. Sam keeps her mouth shut and tried to focus. That is what Setsuna had interpreted the request as from the guild master, a show of precision and focus. She would prove to him she was capable of tempering her fury yet. A bluish light trail as she enters a sprint breaking loose from her cover as the art she activates begins to increase her speed. The first connects and wrapping both hands around the hilt she tears it upward beheading her target in a blinding flash of steel. A blink moves her to the second and it starts to run fleeting, the startling player causing it to flee. "Kasumi, act!" Setsuna spits as both an insult and a call to action. Setsuna was just as aggressive as she had come to expect. A hostile toned voice called her to follow up, at first she was reticent. But the words although from a source she was still not level with, it seemed to echo what she would expect from Raidou's lips. This fact felt almost sickening as it stemmed from Setsuna of all places. A trailing light of pink as Kasumi, although still riddled with reluctance begins to charge in a wave of her hands as her stance deepens. "Fine, if that's what you want. So it shall be." as a new feeling began to boil in her chest that was alien: Anger. A slide in front of her target it halts and with a sweeping circle of her arms, she slams into it with a right open palm. "Shotei" she whispers as her hand passes through her target like a hot knife through butter. She hears what Kasumi said with aggression in her force but Eruda knew that this wasn't a game. It became real to Eruda when she was no longer able to leave. While she waits for the pups to reappear Eruda's mind can't help but wonder thinking about Raidou and their first time together and everything that happened after that. How she might have ruined the one thing that could have made her happy, but left without words to anyone and dwelled in her own tears for so long. Thinking about all this and more her eyes start to tear up a bit. Another set of boars appears in front of them and Eruda comes to from the noise of there hooves against the ground. She feels water drip down her cheek with a sniffle. Staying silent and using her arm to wipe what she could away from her face, she prepares for another attack. Targeting only one pup this time backs away from the others as she watches the boar burst into data, dropping the last tusk that she needed. "Sam finish them and get your last. I'm done. I will be here if you need to though" Eruda says in a more calm voice as she has all these feelings that entered her the first chance it got. Standing on guard after she collects her quest items around. With the wipe of her face again her face turns a bit red for she couldn't help what she was feeling. Hearing what Eruda told her Sam attempts to focus on finishing the quest so the Eruda could take a breather. Not saying anything to her not wanting Eruda to snap again, Sam brings her focus to the remaining boars. Focusing on the only thing that seemed to matter to the 2 moody people, Sam begins her attack. She only aims at two of the boar whole seems to be trying to running in the opposite direction than us. Sam's Axe glows red and she quickly uppercuts into the air toward these two boars. As a large gashing line strikes, it misses the first one but hits the second that she was aiming at it pops into data dropping another tusk. Picking up the last of her items she needed to complete this quest she calls out to the two hiding "I am done as well. Do you mind taking care of them" for us as her attention goes to Eruda, watching as tears drip down her cheeks. Walking to Eruda still paying a bit of attention to the boars, Sam asked "What is wrong Eruda. You were fine just a few minutes ago." "Leave her be, you should be so lucky to experience what she has." Setsuna remarks with a glance up. "Reality has sunken in, this is no game. Most pretend and act as though at each passing second our lives are not on the line. I, however, will not be so foolish. With each passing second, your blood could feed the dirt, never forget that. She has learned to speak and to act." A sweep of her hair her legs slide apart with kicked dirt about. A quick grab of her weapon's handle she rips across the field and decapitates her first target. A turn and a downward slash removes the other to a flash of blue data. "And with that, the game is over." Setsuna says with the click of her katana into its sheath, taking steps toward the Town of beginnings. Eruda 0 Posted May 4, 2020 Author #16 Report Share Posted May 4, 2020 Sam walks to her and asks if she is okay and all that she manages to say was "NO" glancing at Sam meeting her eyes as she can't stop her tears from falling. Eruda looks to Setsuna and listens to her as she speaks words that she couldn't agree more with. Setsuna takes the other 2 boars out as Eruda wipes away more tears that just keep appearing the more she thinks about it. Turning to Sam she says in a very serious voice "Setsuna is right on all aspects. We are alive but are we really? Our bodies are out there rotting somewhere because we are here. This is our reality yes because we feel emotions, some more than others. The longer we stay here the worst off we will be out there in the real world. Make friends, form relationships, create bonds because those will leave with us when we get out of this hell, and we will get out because I will make sure of it." Looking to Kasumi now but speaking to both saying "Anything and everything will kill you here without a second thought. This game is our hell and for a good portion of these players, it will be the end for them. You can not hesitate with anything here for the minute you do and underestimate them, it WILL be the end for those who can't do as much." Eruda seemed to stop crying by this point because somehow she knew that everything was going to be fine. Eruda starts walking behind Setsuna toward the town to complete the quest as her last word fall out "I will sort my feeling out with Raidou and even if he agrees or disagrees with what I have to say, I will be stronger for it because I will be with the one I care for. Protecting him and all of our guild so others may be helped. This will be my main priority now. To stand in front and be your shield against anything that would see you guys harm," looking back to Kasumi hoping that she didn't hate her now and to Sam with sincere eyes. Sam knew then that Eruda was right though. Brushing her hair back with her hand that no longer held her weapon she looks to Kasumi. "You knew Eruda back then, did you have any idea that she had it in here to speak like that. Or that she had feelings for Raidou." Eruda words seemed to hit her like a ton bricks. Her chest started to feel tight at the thought of never seeing her parents again because she wasn't taking this game very seriously. At first, she was just treating it like every other game she ever played. This was not like any other game though. Eruda was right and so was Setsuna. Everything sinking as Sam holds her chest. Sam says to Kasumi "I don't want to die" as she looks down to the ground starting to following the other 2 toward the quest completion, thinking how she never saw any of this before. "People like Sam or Kasumi like to see everything with a rose tint. I used to be the very same, but the reality was forced down my throat. To save others from such a fate, I chose my actions carefully." the words were cold, almost unfeeling. "Our chances lie in this guild. You missed when Raidou spoke to the others, although it took some time for me to understand what he was saying that day." A memory of the friends she once had rips through her head, as it was this event that made the gravity sink in. "He spoke as if he knew what would happen, and what could happen. Kasumi 0 Posted May 4, 2020 #19 Report Share Posted May 4, 2020 A moment to process the entire endeavor she felt trapped and frozen by the honesty in the harsh words, stuck still without a response to which Setsuna walks away before she can speak. Sam asks her a few questions that sound muffled for a moment. "Uh, oh..." Kasumi chokes out, "I uh think... stick by Raidou then. When we were kids he always stood up to everything he didn't agree with despite how much the odds were against him. I have seen that glare of his before, I knew when he spoke to us a while back that his mind was made up. He fought his dad, his mother... Everyone he knew because he liked books and not fighting. He twisted what he was taught so much that eventually those that tried to force him lost. He became very good at defense and strategy." Kasumi recalled the past to a girl she hardly knew, in part due to the fact she was still trying to process what had just transpired. "I am sorry it was forced upon you but I guess the truth comes in many ways, bad or good, it's for the best. I can't imagine what you've been through and might never be able to relate but I always thought I was nothing in my other life but no more will that thought come across. I look forward to working with you again Setsuna. I know now that my feelings are what drive me so I will sort them out. It made me realize things that I could not before. I guess I have some of that to thank you for." Eruda thinks back to the other words that Setsuna said before speaking again saying "Sam and Kasumi may think that now but the guild will see that change soon enough. For some people, it takes more time to sink in. I appreciate that honesty of yours and I hope that you will keep that up with me. With the others too because they do need it regardless." Eruda walks in front of Setsuna and sents her a friend request. With a small smile, Eruda turns around and begins to make haste toward Lyles shop to complete the quest. Getting to the Lyle's she walks in and hands him the three boar tusks he asked for. In return, he gives Eruda his thanks and asks her to deliver a package to an artisan named Hannah. With a small nod of agreement, Eruda takes the package and was out. Eruda looks to Setsuna once more with a nod as she makes haste toward the Artisan shop on her map knowing that Sam and Kasumi would catch up soon enough. Arriving at the Artisan's shop she walks in finding what she assumes was Hannah behind the counter working on something of her own. "Lyle the blacksmith asked me to bring this to you," Eruda says with confidence now in her voice. "Oh, Lyle! Thank you, thank you," Hannah says as Eruda places the deliver on her countertop. Eruda's HUD chimes at the completion of this quest. Eruda decides that she would head to the guildhall to speak with Raidou on for her next orders. If she got the change she would speak to him about the other things on her mind but for now, she would do what was necessary to help the others in her guild. Seeing the sky darken ever so slightly Eruda frowns a bit but decides to go to the guildhall anyway to get the information of what will happen tomorrow. Link to post Share on other sites
