Looking to his comrades building upon the sidelines, things were just about to start. A spin of his polearm above his head he was waiting diligently for all the players to move into position, around him Griswold was standing stalwart with a gleaming shield within the beating sun. Kasumi was surely looking on from some obscurity, and Raidou was fiddling with his glasses and reading some crap in his HUD. "We doin' this or what?" Gaius would ask his allies in a hunch, sifting through the dust beneath him. Gaius looks directly to Raidou and Griswold, as the smith shifts his head and barks back to the kid "Wait a damn moment and let the boy plan, else your face may not stay attached to your head." Most people Gaius would stand up to, but Griswold was a big man and Gaius although he would probably win he'd feel it.

A soft breeze from her high rise the guild was pulling together rather quickly, which was a show of an ability to make an offensive force on a moment's notice. She was glad to be working with her cousin, and although she was still a bit reticent to work with Gaius it was still ideal. Perhaps the male had made strides in bettering himself and she should not treat him so finally, but she had hardly seen him in activity as of late. Kasumi pulls her hand wraps tight and waits for them to head onward, the wind causing her orange hair to flutter. She corrals it behind her ears as she looks into the current, keeping an amber eye on the pack who were none the wiser of what was to come next. She was ready and willing to start the confrontation once Raidou had considered himself and the others prepared to do so.

Griswold was waiting in turn with Gaius, pulling the gloves upon his hands tight and making sure they were secured snugly. He'd take no risk this fight of his gear faltering at an opportune moment. "Everything looking good, boy?" Griswold would ask Raidou attempting to seek his eyes through the mirrored lenses on his face. "It appears to be, but I'll take no chances." Raidou remarks quietly, as expected he was weighing his options as checking his notes. The kid always had a way of looking at all the factors, a strong head on his shoulders. "Take your time, I'll keep Gaius in line." Vulcan seemed just as impatient but unlike the dragoon, it was much more manageable to contain. Pulling the mallet from his belt with a spin of the head, he tightens his grip before latching a chain dangling from his wrist to the bottom of the hammer.

A jiggle of the lens on his face he was looking intently over his notes at his previous run, those before now were much better equipped. But with some preparation, it should be possible for this group to partake in the quest without issue. He checks over the stats of them all, and they seemed adequate of his mental projections as Griswold and Gaius seemed to be growing restless. "Remember what I told you regarding patience." Raidou remarks toward Gaius who was still fiddling with the sand beneath his feet, turning to the guilds smith and asking of him "Ready to go?" to which the smith replies in a silent nod. The vanguard captain then stares to the trees and offers a nod, catching the girl off in the distance. She points to her eyes with two fingers and then to the group of hostiles with a notable cross of her arms. They had not picked up on the growing force aimed at them, they had the element of surprise.

Standing rather abruptly, he was rather pissed at the words Raidou had just dropped upon him that stung. "What of it, you want to start something?" Gaius barked and got within Raidou's face. A sudden shift of red at the swordsman's back made him second guess it, however. "Yeah yeah, I get it I don't need to see your cloud or whatever." Ripping his polearm from his back looking off in the direction Kasumi had pointed from the tree above, having noticed her as Raidou stared up at her. He twirls it in his fingertips until a metallic clank causes it to stop in his grasp. "I am good to go if you slow a**'s are." Gaius remarks to the party, not wanting to start a fight when they were so close to another that would be leagues more interesting. The dragoon then rolls his shoulders and tilts his head to a satisfying pop somewhere in his neck.

[Raidou 1]

His gear in order and with Gaius now acting rather tame with his aura flowing on his back, it seemed he did not a repeat of instances as before. The belts across his frame were tight and with a pull of the sheathed blade over his right shoulder causes it to scream out of its confines in a flash of yellow. He looks to the rest of the group rather abruptly, his gaze falling finally on Gaius "You lead the charge, let some of that hostility out." he then looks to the tree and lifts his hand with two fingers raised. "Then me and you will follow close behind." he speaks to Griswold. The fighting spirit built upon his back swells heavily around his frame, for he'd need it in full swing to draw the ire of the creatures before they could run rampant. With that, he begins to move toward the group unaware of what would come next.

With his weapon amplified he looks to the guild master, despite the kid never want to be called such a thing it was what he was. Usually, people pretended to be stronger, not weaker, which confused the hell out of Gaius. "Let's get this party started!" Gaius barks as his weapon spin in his hands, a burst of speed tears him airborne. As he would land and the Lion's split as if they could sense him. "Hell yeah, hate for this to end too damn easy." the dragoon shouts before vaulting off his spear collecting more speed and flying upward like a catapult. Being in combat was his element, and he'd prove his meddle before the day was through to the rest of the group. Gaius's weapon bursts with more green light but brighter than the one before. The lions below growl and wince to the light parading along his weapon, looking up into the sun at him.

Following suit with Gaius's advance as commanded by the vanguard captain, she was next to make an attempted blow upon the group of mobs. With a sway of her hands, a pink glow builds upon her hands and feet. The girl begins to pick up speed, her appendages ablaze with power as her stamina poured into the charged sword art. One cataclysmic impact while the dragoon drew their attention upward, Kasumi lays a fueled palm into its ribcage causing it to pop to its side and slide. It snaps up and growls aggressively. Kasumi seems rather unfaltered despite its anger, spinning her hands about the front of her body in wide sweeping motions. She keeps her eyes peeled to the lioness watching its movements as to not have it attack her because of an attempt at a reckless withdrawal. The lioness was just as locked to her as well, it was clear that another player would need to draw it away.

The guild blacksmith follows suit third in the rotation, rushing forward with his familiar at his side. His shield emboldened with orange energy like fire, he punches toward the one singled out with Kasumi's prior attack. It shifts and ducks under the blow before a slashed counterattack from it slams into Griswold's shield in a shower of spark. Griswold shouts "Blasted, it's still holding strong!" toward the others, as he was now stuck in the same situation they were. Skills on cooldown locked the three relatively in place, they could move but not quickly enough if the beasts decided to prey upon them. The only hope was that if the need arose Griswold's shield would take the brunt of the blow. He'd look to Raidou, hoping that at the very least he would follow it up as described and make due on the failed attack for what it was: a distraction.

[Raidou 1]

Bleed activates on Nemean Lioness #1 dealing 12 damage

A vibrant pulse of gold painted upon his blade with a draw of his flattened hand down its length, as if he was cutting his palm and the light was his blood. Whipping the blade to his left side positioned over his shoulder, Raidou's legs slide apart as he hunches down. Sprint triggers as he seems to almost bend the distance with a tuft of displaced air creating a cloud from his exit point. What follows is one wide ring of light as the gap is closed, causing two of the three targets HP to quickly plummet by almost half. "Keep your head clear, and outside of their line of sight. I will draw their attention." Raidou responds with a bit of adamance in his voice, it was loud but not quite a shout. A pool of red screams across the floor below his feet, oozing out of his frame in silence.

As Gaius descends with a follow up to Raidou's cleave that clearly showed some power the boy held. He became instantly aware of what may have happened had he continued their earlier argument. A lime green glaive impales through the back of the one the attack had missed, it being in the landing zone still. Gaius grins as he watches the polearm pass through its spine like butter, a red line torn straight through before Gaius rips it clean causing a spray of the same. "This is where it gets good, come at me!" Gaius barks as the red fog slides passed and he watches the creature's eye's gloss over. Clearly there was more to it then simply a visual thing, for the thing seemed to lose him completely. "What the hell, I am right here" Gaius barks at it, and it seems to respond with a snarl but cannot seem to see him.

Blinking out just as Gaius falls, the feral entities seemed fully focused on her cousin. "Keep your head in it Gaius, we cannot afford to waste a single second." she comments as she rushes past him, a sudden blink of pink and she seems to vanish. In her wake a galavanting handful of pink pedals before she manifests with a single powerful uppercut to one. This repeats three times each ending with a pile of the same flower bits swaying in the wind, A single roundhouse and a descending axe kick rattles one's skull enough to knock it to the ground. The final blow of her chained arts fade and she blinks in with a pirouette that causes her feet to drag along the ground beneath her in a circle, not unlike that of a figure skater. Her damage kicks in and the targets respective health reduce in tandem as if bonded together. She takes a sharp breath before leaping backward to clear her from possible collateral damage.

Taking a survey of the field Griswold weighs his options, finding that if he would move forward for a strike he'd likely leave himself open for a counter. "No risk." Griswold mutters taking a couple of steps back. He'd normally charge in health be damned, but he had since offered weight to the boy's orders. He knew what he was doing, clearly after taking down that damn thing on floor 22 almost on his own. He'd not question that wisdom for he was wise enough to know that it existed. Griswold decides to prepare for the worst and keep on an eye on the other two, making use of his shield when needed as he had with Shiina. In the meantime, he'd collect himself and keep his energy high, a battle of endurance they'd surely win out. And with a gander to the creature's HP, the two kids clearly had it handled and he would not stand in the way of that with haste.

Bleed activates on Nemean Lioness #3 dealing 12 damage

Raidou watches on as Gaius straddles one causing its HP to plummet quite low, they were fairing well enough for Raidou to continue the onslaught he was capable of. Kasumi removes herself from the range as does Griswold. "Stand back Gaius." Raidou remarks with his weapon supercharged with his available energy, a raked claw against his sword as it lunges for the only visible target. The swordsman rebukes in a shower of sparks and as the weapon breaks past the attack clipping away the nails of the beast and cleaving through it. It disappears in a spray of blue data, Raidou returns his weapon to neutral and stares at the last remaining beast as the others of his party close in on its sides. Completely unaware of their presence at all, his hatred in full swing on its sight. It was singled out and alone, it would all be over soon.

Gaius spins his glaive as he does as he was asked, having a bit of the previous enemies destroyed frame bounce in his direction. "Alright give them hell, I'll get ready to swing." The dragoon was beginning to get a feel for this, it was clear that while Raidou was here the hostiles would have a hard time coming after him. But it would still not be best to stand between him and them, he could very well eat it simply from proximity. He would move to Kasumi and Griswold doing the same. "So we just blindside this thing while it attacks at Raidou?" he asks of them to which he is paid a nod. Gaius feels a bit bad as he mutters "S*** its hardly fair, they don't really stand a chance." finally getting exactly how this worked. He wasn't sure if he agreed with it fully, but it was clearly effective.

As her arms charge up a pink art upon her fists she's asked a question by Gaius, to which they pink fades. This would be an excellent learning experience for the hot blooded guy. She pays him a silent nod, leaving the creature be. Kasumi was sure it'd be difficult for it wouldn't have any real chance of harming her cousin, but this opportunity only came possibly once. "Precisely, we could all die here if we are reckless." She ushers to Raidou as the Lioness stared him down, through mirrored lenses. "But like this, there is hardly any chance of that. It's what he wants and has always wanted. To make things easier and safer for us all." she comments perhaps eluding a bit too much at a time before Aincrad. With this she turns back to the pride member, shifting her stance and beginning to charge back up hoping that maybe she'd had gotten her point across.

Waiting for some show that he was needed, neither Kasumi nor Gaius had done an action that required his intervention. But he would remark to Kasumi's words, not knowing the boy in red quite as well as she, he was confident he knew at least partially enough to agree. "Aye, The boy is clever. Even with small things like the wolves he takes his time. He won't give them the chance to get the upper hand. I've seen it first hand." He remarks as he looks on toward both the hostile and the nomad, even now appearing patient and calculated in his approach. His energy was full and he'd look to the other two as if a mental charade and we should do the same through body language alone. They reciprocate the notion with a nod, like one mind and body they understood without it being said. They all look to the last remaining lioness with intentions rising.

The lioness was becoming desperate, and Raidou could see them offering conversation. It was troublesome they were using now to speak, but listening in he begins to gain meaning. It was clear that two were offering Gaius insight, something the man lacked. This was ideal for him to begin to learn the very same he had quite some time ago. Leaping for his leg it latches on rather aggressively and causes a bit of damage, taking advantage of his distraction. The damage dealt was a paltry sum, one that brought Raidou no fear. He twists his grip and slashes through the creature's ear, dealing a small bit of damage in return and convincing it to release. "Point proven." Raidou comments to his own distraction, showing that every moment you were not allowing your instinct to flood the field you were at risk of taking something you should not have as he just did.

With a renewed and deepened understanding, Gaius spins his weapon in his grip and waits for that recoil from Raidou's attack. The lioness yelps as Gaius pivots the weapon with a halt and dropping the glaives head like a monk with a staff downward. It cuts clean through with a solid thunk beneath it, clipping it in twain in one fell swipe. He then looks up to Raidou with a nod and a grin "I think I get it, quite crazy of you to try and protect everyone all at once. Crazier then I am." A feral roar at their flanks alerts the group to the next group now knowing they were here. "You've got this one right?" Gaius remarks to Raidou rhetorically in a jab. "Of course I do." Raidou comments back to the dragoon as he walks past with his sword low. Gaius rips the polearm back with a quick twirl docking it under his right armpit.

A blink of light as Raidou begin to close the gap between the now stampeding master of the pride, she'd follow suit with the given orders. Kasumi had faith in the vanguard for defense and as such she could focus on keeping him safe by putting down the largest among the pack. A massive in size lion in tanned fur the color of sand, a billowing mane that created a ring around its head. As quickly as she flickers out, she appears on one side of the charging beast, as the blade of her right foot carries her into the side of its neck. It staggers before falling to one side with a slide, she'd dealt a fair chunk of damage as shown upon its now draining HP bar. With another flash of pink, she was gone, abusing her abilities to there fullest leaving nothing but those small flower pedals in her wake.
