Wandering down the familiar section of beach, being the first to arrive on a calm and bright sunny day. The waters roared to life in a gentle retelling of every stroke of wind brushing wistfully upon its top. The trees at the girls back exhaled the same, swaying softly on that breeze that carried her hair aloft with its travel. To her wrists the girl pulls on the bands of cloth, tightening them around her palms and tensing her knuckles. A glance back as she would await her other companions, the girl reaches into a pouch at her bag and offers the wind a small handful of flower petals curated for her special brand of stealth. Within an instant, the girl disappears in flicker of pink light. Taking on the role of predator with her other half, the yin to her yang. The pair briefly lock eyes from concealed high rise, prepared to pounce the moment the foe would appear.

An invitation from one of the very precious few Mari trusted. The promise of Col. Something Mari never really cared for in her past - but now something she needed in spades. Having a man who could torch the very ground he walked upon for getting a little too heated, too excited had its drawbacks. Fireproofing an entire home is costly. Wanting to give someone the world meant one had to have the world first.

Mari arrived at the beach on time, but found little more than some oddly displaced pink petals in the air. Mari reached out and plucked one. She rolled it around between thumb and forefinger before letting it go again. 

Mari didn't know the others Raidou invited, and she sure as hell didn't trust them - but she trusted Rai. 

Besides; the man warned her. This wouldn't be a time for them to fill idle time with small talk, it'd be an onslaught, quick, fast. Consistent. In and out. Fight as much as the system would allow then bugger off to their various homes and holes.

Nothing more than  a quick job, and that was fine with her.

The man wandered out from the tree line, only slightly behind the others. Like a tired old war veteran, he'd scan the horizon as if seeing something beyond in its stagnant yet alive existence. The rustle of the trees, the white noise of the waves. All too familiar to a man who'd spent most of his lifetime wandering from place to place. A hand raises up and seeks out the blade handle behind his right shoulder, and a quick jerk would find it free. A flash of pastel yellow that mirrored the sun overhead, it acknowledged his intentions and was ready to oblige them. The faint crackle of lightning down its point and back, the gentle blue outline of a sword art primed and raring to go. Far too often had his feet found purchase on this seafront, and each and every time the same foe would rise to greet them. Such beautiful simplicity, in expectation and consistency. Squared up with the blade held low, he'd adjust the glasses on his brow sending a pair of white lights darting across the sand.

The cold murmur in the dark of screens as they open and close, messages and analysis of a girl that proved to be an effective scalpel. Perched high in one of the trees, Setsuna scoured the location for any rogue elements. The girl was confident that outside of the recurring annoyance in red shell, that they would encounter little disturbance in todays little escapade. The bitter taste of seeing a familiar orange topped set of orange hair and an orange marker wasn't absent from Setsuna's tongue, but since her last encounter she'd learned to deal with it and dig a little deeper. Kasumi moves to the branch opposed to her, pressing her back into the tree trunk. "Sitrep shows no hostiles in the area from the forest. The beachfront?" Setsuna murmurs toward her given partner.

"Negative, shouldn't be an issue."

"Confirmed, be ready to strike." Setsuna flipped her wrist and closed the screen, pressing her left hand onto her weapons sheathe and tightening it down. It crunches under the force as her knuckles turn white. Setsuna was in her element.

Without the same level of concern as the other players, the woman wanders out to the same place she'd spent numerous times on prior, a nexus of sorts in a gateway to places beyond. It seemed that despite the fact that they had joined her on many of adventures from this place, that wrapping their head around the fact that something so simple could be considered a hidden corridor to the deeper invisible sections of Aincrad. "Always so serious, its a game remember?" The irony falling all over the place, and the obvious jest would be notable to some. "Lighten up a little, its not like you all haven't done this before." She explains as she rubs the top of Shiina's head, finding the girls relaxed and jubilant nature much more agreeable. Life was short, and it was important to enjoy the moments you had. The blade and shield drawn shortly after, a smile drawn upon her face every step of the way.

Blowing raspberries as the girl scampers out of the trees, past bushes that flail aggressively. "Sup dudes." Shiina extrudes in the wanderlust excitement and wiggling eyebrows. "So what's the beef, chief? More crab?" Her gaze falls on Raidou and then up toward other spooky cooky sneaky beaky times. "Gotcha, well lets go then." The girl pops her head into her armor like a turtle as she lifts it up like a t-shirt, worming around in there until she spots the right colored prisms. "Noice." She yelps as she pops her head back out then folds over and starts digging both hands into the neck hole. A couple of performance crystals drop out the bottom like stones, thudding in the sand. Plucking them both out and presenting them with a playful tussle in front of her like juggling, as Nisa strokes her hair. "Where's the guy, isn't he normally here by now."

*bamf*

The large claw pokes up out of the sand, causing Shiina to smile wide in almost a crazed bout of happiness. "GIANT ENEMY CRAB!~" She squeals, slamming one of those crystals into her forehead like a beer can causing it to shatter.

The ground begins to shake and a couple of the tree's topple over, colored rings echo out beneath her drawing themselves on the floor and grow to about 15 ft in diameter. They spin in different hieroglyphs as they spin and lock into place like tumblers, the varied hues overlapping and drawing different symbols. Each time one halts, a new track joins into the given melody twisting it into a magnificent chaos. The girl begins to sing atop with her phantasmal choir, and the very moment she begins her party members weapons surge in a hot display of the colors their sword arts would normally, albeit on overdrive like glowsticks. The girl shrieks as her hair becomes platinum blonde "Cry of the Ancients: Phantasmal Chorus~" The crab suddenly collapses under an invisible weight, as the sonata itself rips all of its strength from it in an overwhelming sense of dread.

A flicker of flower petals in from what would appear like nowhere, the white clad blossom pops into existence. Her leg raised over her head with her heel roaring in a salmon pink light as it rips down like a wood cutting axe. It collides with the crabs tough carapace with a boom like thunder. Its thick natural armor is torn to pieces in one singular stroke, like a hammer to a plate its cast in angry shrapnel. With the same precise movement, the girl follows her heel and lands square. Her feet slide apart and she draws her right arm back to her right hip, opening both palms and offering a soft exhale to firm up her core. "Tsun~" the crashing wave adds in a key up, slamming her palms into its underside in a lean of her body using her widened stance as a brace sending every ounce of force into its carriage. The thing wobbles and stumbles back falling on its side. "Setsuna!" Kasumi shrieks before a pivot sees her disappear in gentle rain of pink petals.

A wave of cold mist not unlike the mists of floor 4 sweeps across the field in a rolling wave. The cyan line rips straight through the exposed flesh but provides little in the way confirmed contact. Sand's claw seems to slow still struggling to find its footing from Kasumi. Setsuna blinks into solidarity like a ghost from the fog, spreading her legs and hovering the handle of her katana. The girl's eyes flicker into a ripe flash of cyan, and only the quickest perceptions can see her clutch the handle. Another thin line of ice blue rips across before the other fades. Once the girl regains her shape, she slowly slides the blade back into its scabbard.

The moment it closes, the crabs entire left side detaches into a spray of red fractals. Its legs gone it falls in a horrid display of total annihilation, as the once hot and exposed white flesh begins to freeze in a slow creeping cold. The blade is tucked back into the space across her lower back, and like a mirage the girl fades into a trail of smoke.

As absolute chaos filled the battlefield, Raidou stood fast as the different effects of his allies roared behind and past him. His robe flailed angrily with each discharge of potent powers of each party member. The blade at the ready, the man looks on as it surges like a candle in that rich dark blue hue. A turn as the power gleaned from FTK rips down the blade and causes it to chirp in jolts of electricity. Passing clean through where Setsuna stood, the endless assault would continue. The blade is planted up to its cross guard, sending a discharge of static through the beast in a nasty overload of its nerves. The legs begin to flounder as the area is filled with a bright flash, its body seizes and begins to convulse. The nomad presses his foot against a rigid claw, using his boot to rip it free and pivot. Another wave of forked lightning in a wide cleave sheers off one of the creatures only weapons. The massive claw flops to the beach before detonating in a spray of digital stardust.

Chaos was a mother fucking understatement. Raidou appeared and immediately summoned his weapon, Mari fumbled a moment before doing the same. A hand held out to her side, and with a flash of white a halberd appeared in Mari's hand, black handle and dark blade that dripped a black miasma. Tiny bubbles floated around it, and would pop - the liquid hissing as it hit the ground.

She'd taken part in a ....what did people call it? A scrimmage? That sounded right. She took part in a scrimmage against the colossal crab before but it was nothing like this. Players threw themselves at it from ever which way. Before Mari even blinks, the crabs health bar was gutted. Naught but a fraction left.

What the fuck have I been doing all these years?

It was clear Mari really needed to learn a thing or two - she'd have to pull Raidou aside at some point and get his help with it, but not now. No..Now....

Mari adjusted the grip on her weapon.The sand proved difficult to gain traction but Mari bounded forward. Using her teeth she pulled the thin garrote wire free from her wrist- then with a flick of her hand she flung the thin metal around one of the boss's claws. It lifted her up in the air, Mari hanging fruitlessly as though she were bait on a line. She snapped off her tether and used the momentum of her falling. Mari dug her halberd straight down into its shell. It gargled then shattered beneath her.

Mari lands hard on her knees, she buckled and used her weapon to steady herself in the soft sand.

*Combat ends, Rhino's Horn/Well Rested/Haste all reset

The white haired woman clicks her tongue as the crab explodes into a sea of red fractals, destined for the space where it would reform and respawn within the next sunrise. "Nicely done, but that was just the warm up." The woman remarks removing a slender looking ancient key in a jagged charcoal grey, walking a few steps into a spot not much different then the others. Leaning down as her hair cascades like a waterfall from her shoulder, she slides the key into the ground as if it were a door. A flicker of blue light as it smoothly slides into the ground causes a trap door to simply apparate out of thin air. Leaning down with both hands, she pulls it up and drops it on the opposed side in a heavy thud. The sand escapes in a small cloud, and the woman turns her hand allowing a flicker of light to breathe to life on her palm. "Come come, destiny awaits." Her voice echoes off the hole as she proceeds deeper within that darker corridor.

Shiina whizzes past the others with a expressive scamper, her path a wavy scramble instead of a straight line. All the while she sticks out her arms to both sides pretending they are wings in a t pose. "Neeeeerrrrrooom." She squeals floundering right past Mari and Raidou, turning around to face them at the entrance to the hole. "Last one in is a big fruity patootie." Wiggling her hands to add some pizzazz before she dives down the hole. The players can actually hear audibly as she falls down the stairs, yet instead of cries of pain or anguish its just a ominous set of giggles. "SPRINKLES. DONT EAT THAT..." The girl screeches as she rips the red weasel from the floor, pulling some odd purple mushroom out of its mouth causing the animal to hiss and start to bite her hand. His anger only lasts a few short moments until the mushroom kicks in, his eyes becoming large black marbles and he begins to drool like a leaky faucet. "Heh, bad trip huh?" The girl remarks as he starts to scramble and flail about before being shoved into her armors pauldron, undoubtedly seeing her as a massive demon.

jA_UeJ.gifInto the halls of the darker interior with Setsuna hot on her flank, the dedicated strike force of O&I ready and raring to go. Sliding past Shiina who still lie prone at the base of the column of stairs, Nisa was already in a blade lock with some of the occupants. The strange floating masks bleeding out of their eyes, headless statues that ooze black from their stone necks. As if they were at one point attached and had since separated. Allowing all curiosity and questions to fall to the wayside, the girl surges down the corridor like a rocket. Her fist slams into the first sending a spray of stone, and without even a second between she vanishes into a gentle sprinkle of pink flower petals. A kick here, a blow there, one after another in an endless onslaught of flashing pink lights that leave behind those same cherry blossoms. Eventually they are grounded and fractured, stumbling and grinding on the walls. Kasumi blinks into visibility, panting heavily with the smallest bead of sweat after having brutalized them all.

Blazing right past Kasumi with a lunge into one of the walls on her left, the girl uses it as a spring board. Mid air her weapon drawn which causes her velocity to skyrocket, her foolish albeit ferocious risk fueled lethality on full swing. The largest among them has that thin blue line slide through, leaving much to the imagination as the girl rolls onto her feet and continues to slide with her legs wide. Her right hand held fast against her weapons handle, as her left keeps her grounded and stable with her sandals actively grinding to slow her down. The weapon clicks shut and rips the rotted statues arm clean off as it cascades into broken ice like a glass window. "Still alive?" Setsuna quips with a feral snap through the cloth mask adorning her face, as the other three arms spin around to greet her. "Good, give me a challenge." The girl mutters as her eyes narrow, a flash of cyan on her iris divine a skill being triggered and she fades into nothing.

Into the mans pocket as he looks to Mari, hearing the clattering of steel and the pop of mobs in the smaller dungeon entrance. "Guess that makes you the fruity patootie." The man jests to Mari as he removes a familiar looking red stone from his pocket. His feet click as he wanders down ebbing on the side of caution and the heartbeat like pulses scan the walls, seeking traps or potential dangers as detect is on overdrive. His yellow blade slides up to eye level, as he presses the stone against it and rips them apart. Like striking a match a roaring flame breathes to life on it like a torch. A check of his glasses, before he leans forward and transitions straight into a red blur. The bastard sword scorches through the things chest, sending hot globs of molten lava that was stone oozing out of the wound. The wanderer twists the edge, pressing his back into his target before ripping it out on one side, sending a spray of heated stone across the stone walls that quickly cools.

 "Guess that makes you the fruity patootie."

Mari stared at Raidou, confused. "W-what?" She turned her eyes to the others, some seemingly much more serious than others. "I ...suppose I can be?" Mari said - not used to the juxposition and mixture of free spirited fighters and serious ones all smashed together in a small dungeon. Mari trailed along behind Raidou, close to him. "So..who are-" her eyes shifted to Nisahime. That person.

"She has a regular one today." Mari commented. "Last time - 'twas blue. Nisahime. RIght?"  It was said with a slight smile, an attempt to connect to another. So that was two out of the several people here that Mari knew at least. Better than awkwardly fighting amongst strangers.

But there was little time for conversation.

More skills, more mobs, and another strike as Mari dragged her halberd across several enemies - lines of data trailed up in the air as one of creatures exploded, unable to withstand the force of her attack. It was a little harder to control things in a confined space. 

Still...this felt, kinda nice. It was different from the frontlines, there was no pressure - no expectations. No politics.

The woman twists to spark her weapon into a long bow, the arrows these thin strands of silver light. Drawing the string back and releasing sees a sharp laser of white, and a following detonation down the hall which fractures. Like curving wisps they tear through creatures within its immediate proximity in curved lines of energy. "Nicely done." Nisahime remarks as Mari backhands one with a halberd, managing to wrangle the weapon in such a cramped hallway. "You remember correct." The woman points up to the little floating crystal standing in a cobalt blue, completely unorthodox to the standard fare. A contrast directly to others in the past. "Feeling comfortable, Mari?" A simple question matched with a complacent stare past the glowing string of the old looking bow. "Not quite the same feeling as everywhere else, is it? Curious how much could be accomplished with such clarity and acceptance. But I digress, best not start questioning too deeply in the throes of combat. And I'm not one to pry into others affairs without warrant. Nicely done."

With a layer of stone made super hot still dripping from his weapon, the man waves it off to the side to snuff it out. A twist of the blade sees it spark and lightning rip down its length in a yellow chirp. The energy vibrates and his skin tingles in a numbness as it passes through the metal. A pivot and overhead arc sees the blade dumped right into the largest foe. Forks of the stuff ring out and rip toward the other adjacent targets, sending a quick discharge of data as they are immediately erased. The largest among them is torn asunder with a huge gouge as the rock is cleaved apart, causing it to fumble and slam into a nearby wall. It grinds stone on stone, as its legs fight desperately to keep it upright. Raidou relaxes his grip, offering the blade a quick flourish in a spin and lifts his boot to kick the thing onto its back like a turtle.

The girl shoves off with her left hand, breaking immediately into a sprint. Her eyes flare in a rich ice like blue, and her speed is sent into the stratosphere. That same defining line, mixed with brash precision like a scalpel and a lack of self preservation. Right through Raidou she seems to disperse like steam from a cup as she would make impact with him. Her image bends and reforms shortly past him, like a ghost as she slams into the opposed wall and braces onto it as if were the floor. Another leap sees her tumble and roll to break the maintained speed. The moment she's upright her weapon clicks shut and causes the remaining foe to freeze solid, before crumbling into powdered snow. Releasing the handle, she'd look back while adjusting the mask over the lower half of her face. Pulling the Katana back behind her, she begins to bound deeper into the darker corridors as to obliterate anything left.
