    [PP-F3] Elvish Rivalries

Quest Description: After finally getting his loot boost item in the form of a silver necklace and with the brilliant name: Greed Necklace, Aereth started to make his way down to the third floor in order to complete one of the many open quests he still had to finish. "Hmmm.... I should have done this one around level 25 so this shouldn't take very long..." he thought while reading through the quest description. Something about trees fighting elves, bla bla bla. He had stopped caring about the braindead content of those quests ever since this game turned into a kill or be killed hellhole. "But why did I even agree to help Hidden? She could have killed me right there on the spot and I SHOULDN't have cared... But somehow I managed to talk myself out of that situation..." he mumbled before noticing his first targets. Four Elvish soldiers on patrol duty... ID# 141707 results: Loot: 17 + 7 = 24 LD required to detect Aereth

Either way... It didn't matter. He wouldn't be either one. Because honestly, he didn't care enough to put in any more effort than necessary in order for her to leave him alone once and for all. In the end that's all he wants, right? Being left alone, wandering from floor to floor before sooner or later meeting his end inside of the floating castle that was Aincrad. This one thing was certain. No matter what, he would end himself before this deathgame would come to an end. He had lost his love and did horrible things in order to avenge her death. There was no way somebody like him should be allowed back into the real world. Before his thoughts dragged him even deeper into a hole he would rather not be in at the moment, he yanked the katana out of the ground and activated a teleport crystal. "Floor 14..." he mumbled before entering stealth again. ID# 141969 results: Loot: 19+7 --> LD 26+ required for detection

Well, maybe not the only thing. He also somehow talked himself into helping Hidden with her quest of clearing her name and gaining respect from everybody in Aincrad. A sigh escaped him at the thought. That girl was such a handful. She wanted everything at the same time. Respect and a cleared name, but also playing villain and being shady at the same time. In his eyes the girl was simply childish. It really looked like she never had had any reason to grow up. Not even being trapped inside of this hellhole had changed that. No... This fact probably had made it even worse than in he real world. That girl needed help. Either she would have to lose something she holds so dear that it rips her apart when that thing or person is gone, or she would need a guiding light that would help her understand the world for what it really was and what her place in it was.

That was right. He shouldn't be here anymore. It was never the plan to walk away from Laughing Coffin after he had visited them a couple of months ago. He would let them alone and do whatever they wanted from him if he got his chance to full loss duel the killer of his girl. "I should have just stayed there as they raided the base..." he thought to himself while watching his energy bar rise steadily. Then a thought hit him. Who were 'they'? Who raided the base? Was it Itzal and Hestia? No! he would have noticed them even inside of the chaos... Or would he? Scratching his chin he started to doubt himself. "How could I have known who attacked when I just sprinted out at the first possibility? I really need to look more deeply into that raid." It seemed like that curiosity was the one thing that kept him going for now.

After dodging the last attempt at doing any damage to Aereth, the katana simply moved in a straight line forward, piercing the mob through the chest and pinning him to the ground. It was over. The mob exploded into tiny little poygons and the reward screen popped up in front of Aereth. Some good experience, money and a very usefull item that could come in handy in a tougher fight. Aereth simply let go of the katana that was still embedded into the ground, and fetched a bottle of water out of his inventory. It seemed like he didn't forget how to fight, but somehow it felt like the hot fire that was usually burning inside of him was quenched. There was nothing of his former flashyness in his fighting style. "But why am I still here..." he thought while taking the last sip of the bottle before it shattered into polygons. + <<Woodland Armor>> This item has (3) charges and may not be refilled. Strike after strike were thrown at the brunette, but he leniently side stepped each and every one of them. They looked so slow to Aereth that he didn't even bother to parry any of them. His movement speed alone was enough to evade every one of them. But what should he expect form such low level mobs. Another dash, another srike and the commander of the elvish forces also dissapeared in a burst of small polygons, only leaving the king and Aereth. Again the mob tried to speak to the brunette, but he was again interrupted by two gashes apearing on his chest. The king was outraged by ths disrespect and tried everything in his limited arsenal in order to retaliate, but the brunette again side stepped every move of the NPC, as if additionally rubbing salt into the wound. And only one more hit and this battle was over...

His posture was as far away from a serious fighting stance as humanly possible with the tip of his blade slightly touching the dry ground. The first two to reach him were again two simple soldiers that fell easily to his activated area of effect sword art. As soon as his blade finished passing through the two soldiers, the brunette rouge pressed on towards the two other mobs that arrived at the scene. Both of them looked a little more beefy than the soldiers that he had just felled. One of them was shouting some orders as well as damning the trees, but Aereth didn't care. These two AI powered mobs were nothing more than easy experience for the brunette killer, and so his blade went through both of them before they could even finish their sentences. But to Aereth's surprise, both of them survived his assault and even tried to retaliate, but that wouldn't happen anytime soon...

Immediately the brunette went into stealth, sneaking past them and drawing his blade. It wasn't his usual weapon, since he had given it to his old mentor before he went into the laughing coffin lair. No phase enhancements, no accuracy. To be compeletely honest it didn't even have any enhancements at all. It was just a plain and simple vanity katana he had picked up before leaving the laughing coffin lair in midst of all chaos. Generally speaking, his whole build was completely new. All ready for the unlimited power that came with tier three equipment. Either way, he prepared himself to strike out of stealth, mowing down every opponent in front of him. With a silent dash, the brunette jumped into action, slicing apart the four soldiers each in one clean and swift strike. As the small polygons dissapeared, Aereth could already see more enraged elves coming at him.
  13. "That was fast..." the brunette thought as a message notification poped up in his HUD. It seemed like the rumors were indeed correct. This artisan was pretty solid in regards to speed. He sheathed his katana and ported back to floor one, immediately activating his stealth skill to enter the town unnoticed... "Thanks. That was really fast." the brunette said flatly before inspecting the item he had ordered. His inventory poped up and he ckecked for the correct enhancements before switching over to the finace tab and transfering the necessary amount of money. "Good work. I 'might' be coming again here..."
  14. PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING! 01:34 Outskirts of Taft Many months have passed since the brunette had ventured into the depths of the Laughing Coffin hideout. How he made it out, he still didn't really understand, but from his perspective it seemed like there has been a raid on the base where he was held captive... Hmmm... To be completely honest, held captive was somehow the wrong way to describe it, but this is a story for another day... Anyway, something happened and he among the other prisoners was set free. Was Laughing Coffin gone? If they weren't, would they come for him, in order to take him back? Well, he didn't really care. He stopped caring the day he finally got what he always wanted... Bittersweet revenge... His gaze was empty and his steps were slow and heavy, which made it seem like he was aimlessly wandering about, but for him his goal was clear. He needed something to drink. Something strong. And although it was unfortunately not possible for him to get drunk in this virtual hellhole, he still longed for the taste and the imaginary sensation and relief that came with that taste. And so he was making his way to the only player run bar outside of the safety of the safe zones.
  15. It seemed like they really got through to Hidden. Thankfully her blind anger wasn't big enough for her to ignore hard facts and logic. "Have it your way then. I will agree with both of you that we shouldn't give Adrian reason to feel pressured right now, but you should be really careful around him. At least when you are completely alone with him." Doing his best to ignore the sticky substance that now seemed to have fused with his worn out pants, the brunette got up to his feet. "I'll stand by my word. I will help you to clear your name, but for that I need some time..." he said, jokingly trying to dust off his dirty clothes. "I need to get some actual gear as well as some money to get my information broker network going again. Unfortunately my pals in LC didn't pay me for my service... Give me a week and I'll be ready. We'll meet up here again and we can discuss our next steps.... If that is ok with you Sherry..." Sherry grinned after Aereth finished. "Just like old times..." she mumbled before brandishing her spear. "Of course that's fine by me. You owe me a whole evening worth of lost income. Better bring that money next time you show your dirty face." The redheaded bar owner replied in a teasing tone. Rewards: All players receive: 1 SP (thread completion) + 1 SP (Corona Bonus) 133 Col
  16. 06:56pm | F1 After both of his artisans went out of business, one committed suicide the other captured by Hestia and the APF, the brunette had to find a replacement shop for his orders. Although it wasn't hard to find shops that would sell goods to player killers, greed of the green players be thanked, it was very hard to find a reliable source of perfect custom made items at a reasonable price point. So after some time of searching around by himself, Aereth managed to pick up some rumours about a pretty decent artisan on the first floor. "Greetings. I hope it isn't too late to place an order here. I need a perfect T1 Prosperity necklace. Doesn't have to be pretty. And I'd like to pay with money if that's possible..." @NIGHT

  18. It has been a very long time since the last time Aereth stood at the crafting table. Many things had happened and now he finally had archieved his goal of taking revenge for the girl he loved. It was a miracle that he was even still alive, but somehow fate didn't seem to want to let him die just now. Somehow he felt empty now that he had no clear goal anymore, but for now helping Hidden would be the thing that would force him to push forward. 19. "This may sound harsh, but you talk about so desperately wanting people to view you differently. To no longer be wanted or hated, but your actions and words right now - kinda contradict that completely." "Thank you..." the brunette mumbled while listening to Mari's comments. "We both know my social skills are the bare minimum, I can't talk to people without being fake." "You are talking to us right now or aren't you? Weak social skills are no excuse they are just a weak argument children hide behind when they are in a tough spot..." before he could finish a two handed spear came crashing down between his legs. "What he meant was, that poor social skills shouldn't hold you back from trying to clean your name. You don't have to be friendly with everybody, but if the APF is looking for you while you haven't done the things they accuse you of, then you have to clarify them..." Sherry had been trying to keep out of the conversation, but felt like she had to step in before Aereth would make things worse again. "Just think about it for a moment... Both the APF and you have the same goal. Taking down Laughing Coffin. Why not meeting at an neutral place, explaining the situation and then joining forces. Clean your name and gain respect in one go..." "I don't know what he wants in return..." Aereth sighed. "And that doesn't seem suspicious to you? Let's just go along with that play for now..." He said, sitting up straight, moving his hands around to help him gesture while explaining. "We assume you and Adrian manage to take down LC somehow. What after? Your goal is accomplished and you owe an undefined favour to a child with mental issues that could easily do anything he wants with you." he waited for a couple of moments before continuing. "I'll tell you why he wants to help you. He wants to take LC's place. It's as obvious as fck. Do you really think he would just vanish afterwards? And the front-line wouldn't even think about joining forces with him anyway..." there was no hostility in his words, it was just what he was honestly thinking about the situation. After Hidden's monologue he took some moments to in all the information. While he could understand most of the things, it didn't make any sense why she would want to keep that orange cursor. "But THEY don't know that you got the cursor form a quest. They assume you harmed or killed another player. Going back to green would be the first NONVERBAL thing you could do to restore some of your reputation and make your life easier. Change your clothes, change your hair and you can go in and out of every town just as you want without triggering other players or the guards while searching for players to join your cause. For Mari and me that train is gone. Our cursors are permanent..." "I will help you, I owe you that much, but you also have to accept that help. And from what I saw up until now you have another one who wants to help you..." he said looking at Mari. @Mari @Hidden
  20. "The things I did for Domarus huh? You must have been to caught up on yourself if you believe I even got to do anything. I didn't work for Domarus. I simply worked with him to get what I want. I didn't even do anything for him. By the time I was even a high enough level to do anything, this mess began. As far as I remember, the only thing I did for Domarus was help thwart some criminal guild." "If you really are so innocent and haven't done anything wrong, then why don't you get rid of that orange cursor and talk to the APF? I know Itzal and Hestia. They wouldn't lock anybody away who is really innocent." He answered in a slightly sarcastic tone and sighed as she mentioned how she couldn't understand how he betrayed her about something trivial as this. "Either way... I needed to find LC... And through Dom I did. They made an offer to me. I got the chance to kill two a**holes in return for them to capture me. I took the offer... Killed them and was held captive ever since then. So I didn't sell you out to the APF." "I also used Domarus. And he used me. There never was anything else behind my relationship with him. His underground network was very useful for me and I did some dirty work for him in return. But I would never blame him for my actions. The only one responsible for my actions was me." "...but the only thing they were willing to clear my name is for me to return Adrian to prison. Which I refuse to do, because the kid owes me a promise that I am not going to let slip." "You are greedy. You are way too greedy. On the one side you want to have a cleared name and be a respected person, but on the other side you want to use a psycho killer kid to do some dirty work for you." She wanted everything... "And if you want something from him, remember that everything has a price. And I don't know if you will be able to afford such a price." It was worrying. "This kid is dangerous. You are putting yourself and everybody close to you into danger by relying on him. You could die. Sey could die... Is that 'favour' really worth the risk?" Aereth said calmly. He didn't particularly feel bad for Hidden, but somehow he could understand where she was coming from. She got shafted hard... "I have an offer for you. I'll tell you where LC is. But don't even think about raiding that place. Somebody already did. That's the only reason I got out of there. You should do something different. First: get rid of that orange cursor. Second: take me to the APF. Mari is right. I won't be useful for you when I'm dead. Take me to them and tell them how we have information about LC's hideout and that you want to turn me and Adrian in to clear your name... Or you can kill me here on the spot and deal with your problems alone. I got my revenge... I don't care about freedom and I don't care about surviving..." @Mari @Hidden
  21. "Damn well am." he responded to Mari before detaching the piece of his shirt from her cheek intentionally ignoring the information about her dead daughter. "And if you want to stay, I won't be throwing you out." "I don't want you to trust me, I want you to listen to me." the brunette scoffed before letting himself sink to the floor on the exact same spot Mari had been before... Ignoring the sticky substance on his a** he continued. "Do you really think it's fair to blame me for everything bad that happened to you? You made choices in your life and the consequences are now trying to catch up to you. It's like this for everyone. Nobody forced you to do the things you did under Domarus. And I had never a problem with you or blamed you for anything. I'm not even blaming you because you freed that psycho Adrian. The problem was that Domarus got too greedy. Strong and influential players were rallying against him for weeks before that final showdown. Hestia and Itzal had this planned all along. They only gave me a choice." he sighed as he remembered the last days before Domarus' fall. It left a bitter taste in his mouth. "Itzal, my former mentor, the man who made me strong, came to me, asked me to join him in order to take Dom down. Itzal of the Celestial Ascendants. Does that ring some bells? I know Sey was with them at the time, but do with that information what you want..." Aereth tried reaching up the counter in order to find some drink that survived Hiddens assault for a few seconds. Sherry immediately noticing that he wanted to grab a drink lifted up the glass closest to him, showing it to Aereth, and the proceeded to throw it against the wall all the while smiling at him. "Either way... Itzal knew that I couldn't refuse the offer. He knew that I was close to finishing my ultimate goal..." he sighed heavily. "And yes. This was the reason I betrayed Domarus, went into the battle on the side of Itzal and Hestia and left you. This is the part of the blame that I accept. This decision put you in a tight spot." "But I NEVER EVER, gave anybody information about what you did for Dom and neither did I put your face on the wanted posters. Do you want to know why I betrayed him, you, everybody?" His ice cold gaze met hers as he slowly took her dagger from its sheath. "Because I found them. I had found their hideout just a couple of days prior to the battle. Laughing Coffin. I think I never told you the story why I was always so obsessed with them, did I? I mean if its the LC I think you can already guess it but still..." he played with the blade for a few moments before asking her. "Rage clouds ones judgement. Are you calm enough to continue listen to me now? If so I will untie you and tell you why nobody was able to find me for all that time." @Mari @Hidden
  22. "Damn and here I thought I could make a restart as a girl. Shame on me..." "Maybe you would make a prettier one if you would wash yourself." Sherry replied with a cheeky smirk. "Cuz you look just like you smell... So yeah. I'd definitely prefer me as well." "Haven't had much time for that in the last couple of months so I'm sorry I guess, but I digress..." He tried to finish a little bit more on topic than he started but got interrupted by Sherry again. "Months?!?!" she almost cried out fake disgust showing on her face. She knew that the whole washing part was more of a self therapy thing to stop players from getting crazy because of their virtual bodies, but in theory it was still disgusting. "Enough now about that..." Sherry was really trying her best. She REALLY was, but at the entertainment part she lost it (a little). A loud "HAH. Maybe you should stop actin so edgy and cool all the time with new people you meet." escaped her that was accompanied with her open palm hitting the counter but moments after that she quickly tried to find a cloth to polish the glasses in order to act naturally and vanish from the situation. The brunette just glared at her for a moment forgetting or better, ignoring the danger that was approaching him from behind. The next thing he felt was a tug on his collar yanking out of harms way. The new girl took the hit for him and went to the ground. Paralytic Venom... Adrenaline rushed through his veins forcing his brain to shut down any unnecessary functions and presenting him with the same question it always did. Fight or Flee? Aereth weighed his options. He could try to use the other bar guests to flee and get away from Hidden now. "Not good. The only reason she didn't find me up until now was because LC had me locked away." He also couldn't let Sherry alone with the two. Hidden was unhinged and he wasn't sure what she would do if he got away. So only the second option. His Hiding Skill activated at the same time as he materialized his old Katana and mouthed "Sorry.." towards Sherry. There was no other way. He needed to de-escalate the situation quickly. Immediately he blended in with the crowd just to strike Hidden with the strongest Stun that he had available to him. His steps were steady and the strike was clean. The blade made contact with Hiddens shoulder and pushed her off balance. Aereth directed his momentum forward and Hidden fell to the ground. She was pinned down. For now. "SHERRY! ROPE!" He ordered not even looking at the redhead only holding out his hand towards the counter. And more was not necessary. The redhead often had brawls in her bar and ropes were always nice to use for those roughians. In one motion the rope was thrown towards Aereth and she unleashed her two handed spear from her inventory. It was nothing fancy and she clearly wasn't the strongest, hell she wouldn't even last a minute against any of them in a 1v1 situation, but she was still a T2 ready to fight for her life. The brunette didn't waste a second and immediately began tying Hidden up. Once this was finished he removed his sword from her shoulder and let it dissapear. The situation was under control for now. "Listen. I have a deal for you. We talk. We all talk. Hearing some things from Mari made me understand that there might be some.... Misunderstandings between us. Just killin me now won't help you one bit. You will still be wanted. You still won't be able to do ANYTHING. Let's just talk, and if you still think you need to kill me afterwards I will let you do so without resistance. I'm done with this world anyways..." he added before looking at Mari and helping her into a sitting position. "You ok? Sorry to have you dragged into this. This should't be any of your business..." "Everybody else: OUT." Sherry ordered, the hilt of her spear meeting the ground. "Bar is closed now. Also f*ck you Aereth for that. Sorry my a**" ID# 138256 results: Battle: 6+3-2 --> Hit Aereth uses Iai --> Hidden Stunned for 1 Turn @Hidden @Mari
  23. Busy streets, lots of players. It was around lunchtime so it was no surprise that there was so much going on on the fifth floor. Everybody was moving, trying to get some food, supplies or anything else except one player. That one player was out of everybody's sight waiting on top of the roofs with his brown eyes focused only on one thing. The door of a small smithy. He was waiting for someone. Someone special. It was the last unfinished business he had left to settle and after this he would be ready to bring his final operation into action. Aereth had already prepared everything, his inventory slots were stacked with potions, food as well as debuff items, and he was armed to the teeth. Everything on him was either new or upgraded accordingly for a tier three player. But he wouldn't need any of these items now. The door slowly opened and revealed the unmistakable purple strands of hair that gave their owner her special nickname. "Purple..." the brunette whispered before slowly getting up and dropping down into a dark hallway just beneath him. While still in free fall, the brunette simultaneously activated his disguise and hiding skill turning into an average sized player with black hair and leather armor, practically making him invisible in the big crowd. Yes he still had that orange cursor, but he wasn't the only orange player in the streets, so he would easily blend in while following The purple haired woman. Step by step he closed the distance between them until he was just one step behind her. Then he passed her, gently putting a small crystal in the first pocket he could find, before slowly drifting away and fading back into the crowd again, slowly but surely making his way over to the teleport gate to leave again. Even though not everything he wrote wasn't entirely true, he still had the urge to close this last issue, to cut his last ties to his old self. And with that he felt better. He felt lighter. Now he could finally start his last task without anything in the back of his head that could hold him back. Now he was ready to face his last demons. @Teion OOC: You can reply in that thread if you feel like you want, otherwise I'll just close it. :) (Also beware of typos and grammar errors.)
