Shirien walked into the shop with his black clothing and hood hiding his eyes. His rusted knife wasn't going to keep him safe forever, and early on he figured his stats wouldn't carry him, he needed to rely on equipment for a little while. "Hey there, I'm here looking for a weapon, let me just browse for a bit!" He said aloud while looking through the items already in stock. He didn't feel like waiting for an order and thankfully for him there was even a dagger perfect for what he had planned! With a grin on his lips he gestured to the weapon named Carnwennan and said "Ooh, perfect. This will carry me for a while!" He says happily and checks the pricing on it. It felt a bit steep to him since he was new, but he figured it wasn't so bad since he could afford it. "Six materials... Alright." He says while taking six from his inventory and setting them down to be taken.

-6 Materials for Carnwennan

The bell chimed as a hooded figure entered the shop. The player seemed drawn to the various wares he had to offer but judging from his gear and clothing, Oikawa reasoned he was on the newer side of things. Just as he was about to suggest some items, the player moved towards the display holding <Carnwennan> and gestured towards it. Talking more to himself than Oikawa, the young male placed six materials on the counter in exchange for the dagger. Accepting the payment, the blonde swiped through his menu and traded the dagger to the player. "Enjoy the knife mate."

Shirien smiled to the smith with a nod, removing his old dagger with the plans to destroy it later, it being not only basic quality but locked from appraisals atop that. With his new dagger equipped he drew it and gave it a toss up to properly test the weight before catching and re-sheathing it. "Thank you, I will! I look forward to testing it out. Have a good day!" He said happily before waving and heading back out of the shop to see how much easier it would be to cut things with several times more strength! It would certainly last him the next twenty-some levels he figured for starters!

  • 5 weeks later...

It had been ages since the man had last stepped foot in his shop to actually craft. Though he was here on the daily now as it seemed to be the only safe place for him to sleep being of the few players who donned orange crystals, he hadn't actually crafted in what felt like months. Pushing past the door leading to the furnace, he gathered a few materials and set his mind to work on crafting Rare swords so that Baldur or any merchant for that matter could use them to get appraised for unique enhancements. Hopefully their luck would be much like his own.

Though today was to be relatively uneventful, the blonde had plans of maybe collecting martial arts as an extra skill. He had heard the rock requires you to fight it unarmed, that being said he knew if he crafted some tier two gauntlets, he could use them to aid in the destruction of the rock so that he could earn the skill easier. Turning to the crafting table, Oikawa procured a few materials and set to work on crafting a pair of gauntlets for himself and a pair for a comrade should he call for one to join him on his quest.

Entering the all so familiar shop Takneil swiped open his menu, his next custom orders already on his mind. Lacking armor or really any weapon he approached the counter, dawned in his Artisan clothing. ink here and there against the white of his dress shirt, and some clay residue on his black dress pants. The Eternal melody Armor, it was starting to affect him. It's sinister appearance and aura leaving a mark on the boy. Something he was fearing, maybe it was cursed. Like Oikawa had joked many months before. Letting out a sigh he deposited the appropriate amount of materials for his new orders, hopefully the new set would be able to purify that aura. He had made a promise, he needed to see the world through Ebony's eyes...

Submitting the order without needing to see the blacksmith he made his way out of the shop, knowing that Oikawa would know who had ordered the equipment by it's unique keywords. Hopefully he didn't take offense to it, people...were one of the last things he needed at this moment.

Gripping the paper that was left on the counter in his absence, he scanned its contents instantly recognizing the request from a player that frequented his shop. Accepting the deposit of materials, Oikawa made his way to the back and plucked a few of the materials from his stash. Setting them down, he grabbed his crafting hammer and began molding the materials into the requested items. His attempts while few, had seen far better days. Sighing he placed what he could into the evaluation bin and closed up the furnace for the day.

Baldur pushed open the door to the Gurando Foji, and hailed the smith and old friend who worked there.

"Yo! Oikawa!" Baldur walked up to the man and set 3 perfect katanas down on the table. "Here you go. Amaterasu, Izanami, and Izanagi. Unfortunately, no unique enhancements."

Looking around, he tried to spy the armor he had messaged his friend about. "Did you get it finished? How much do I owe you? I'm excited to finally get a serious gear upgrade."

Adhae was back on Floor 1, roaming the Town of Beginnings. On the first day of her experience in Sword Art Online, she had gone looking through the merchant's district, and had spotted a certain piece of armour that had caught her eye. It was a white chestpiece, looking quite unwieldy and heavy. Perfect. The trim of black around the edges had caught her eye, having always liked the colour palette of black and white. It was love at first sight. Adhae's goal in this game was to become a tank, taking all the damage that her friends would have suffered from. Now, with this strong chestplate in her sight, she knew it was bound to happen soon. So she set out with her partner Verus, levelling up and trying to get the 1500 Col needed to purchase the armour.

Now, she had gotten the amount of money needed. She strode confidently into the store, pushing open the door with a little more force than needed, and holding it open for Verus. He had always accompanied her everywhere they went from the time they partied up not so long ago. Now, he was going to see her wear her soon to be defining peace of wardrobe for the first time. With a wide smile lighting up her face, she walked up to the counter, looking for the attendant. "Sir, I'd like to purchase Malevolence." She tried to sound as confident as she could, though her voice wavered just slightly with excitement.

  • Malevolence: (Heavy Armor Chestplate)(Uncommon)(Tier 2)(+18 Mitigation) Description: (A whitened armored chestplate outlined with black trim. The markings of combat seem to be part of the initial design for this malevolent armor.)

Pulling up her menu, she prepared to transfer the 1500 Col that the armour piece cost. The smile never faded from her face.

Bells sounded as Baldur stepped into the shop. The familiar katana user offering him a hello and a gift as he approached the counter. "Long time no see Baldur hehe, and ahh the katanas; I nearly forgot about those." Collecting the items, he placed them away as Baldur inquired about his gear. A smile grew on the blonde's face as he reached below the counter and produced the gear. "Here ya go. All polished and ready for use." Swiping through his menu, he relinquished ownership of the armor via trade and sent it to Baldur. "There you go man."

-1500 Col

Just as the trade was sent, another bell chimed as a lass entered his shop. Not one to judge off looks initially, the blonde couldn't help but feel that the lass was a novice and that she may be unaware of the cursor above his head. That, or she simply didn't care which didn't bother him either. As she approached the counter, she seemed to already know exactly what she wanted. Confidently, she asked for Malevolence. A tier two uncommon item that bolstered a nice boost to your mitigation. While he had no qualms about selling the item, he did however feel the need to inform her about the characteristic of being tier two. "Before I hand this over, I must ask. Are you sure you're a high enough level to equip tier two items? I'd hate for you to buy this and not be able to use it."

Baldur looked over the armor with a glow of excitement and a smile of pride. Immediately he transferred the armor to his inventory and then with a few quick presses against the menu, he equipped both the armor that Oikawa had just forged for him, but the blade as well. Turning around to look in the window, Baldur smiled at his reflection and then turned back to his old friend.

"I finally have a full set of Tier 2 gear and the level to use it."

He patted the sword at his hip, one of the four beautiful blades that Oikawa had forged and brought by his shop, the blade <<Susano'o>>.

"Thanks, man. As soon as I get more materials, I'll be sure to upgrade all your rares to perfect, and we'll hopefully get some unique enhancements as well."

She did, in fact, have no idea what the orange cursor above his head meant. She assumed it would mean he was a merchant, or something. Adhae hadn't met any other PKers in this world yet, so none could identify their peculiar orange colour as a marking of that. For now, she was ignorant.

As he spoke to her, her confidence wavered. "Oh." She paused for a second, thinking over what had been said. A frown creased a small line between her eyebrows. "Someone we met told me that Tier Two armour didn't need a second rank." Now, her hand fell from where it had previously been poised to transfer the Col. "Did she lie to me?" She mumbled underneath her breath. Oh well. It wasn't a huge deal now, and she would correct her mistake. A smile replaced the frown on her face as she came to this decision. "Pardon me, I must have been mistaken. Do you have any Tier One armour for sale? I'm a low enough level to only have enough Skill Points for that. You'll have to forgive my noobiness." Her smile widened, trying to make up for her misinformation. "And if not, I'll be back soon enough for Malevolence!"

"Your friend is right in the fact you don't need a second rank, but your level must be twenty-five to equip tier 2 gear. But in a sense, you were still misinformed and for that I cannot fault you." Rapping the glass with his fingertips for a few moments, Oikawa let himself think on what to do. Snapping his fingers, he looked to the girl and offered a suggestion. "Since you are a first time customer, I'll make you a Rare Tier one armor for the same price of an Uncommon Tier two one. While virtually functioning the same, the tier one armor does have to use more enhancement slots to get the same effect as a tier two, that said, you aren't a high enough level to equip tier two so this is a safer alternative."

Adhae's eyes widened as this new information was given to her. "Oh. Alright." She nodded, having already come to terms with the fact that she wouldn't be able to get the exact armour she had wanted. She wasn't a person to be upset about being wrong about things like this; she knew many people who would bluster in a situation like this and pretend like not knowing everything was someone else's fault.

Then, as he spoke about the deal, she listened with growing excitement. A wide grin spread over her face. "Oh, really? Wow, thank you. That's sure a good business pitch," she said, smiling and laughing a little. "'First item half off!'" she said, putting up her hands and spreading them both apart, as if imagining a banner with those same words on it above the man's head. She put her hands back down, but clasped them together in front of her. "Is this armour already in-store, and what would it look like? I've gotta admit, I haven't looked at much else in here. Malevolence really caught my attention." She smiled sheepishly.

As he mentioned 'enhancement slots,' a puzzled look grew over her face. She hadn't heard the term before, and figured there was no harm in asking. She was a noob after all, and this trip had turned out to be somewhat of a gold mine for information. "What're 'enhancement' slots, and how do they work? Would I need to do anything extra with them? Can I even do them?"

Here use this template (order form), and I'll craft whatever you want, just fill lout the description as thoroughly as possible," chuckled the blonde. He was rather surprised by the woman's enthusiasm. Nowadays things were so glum and sullen, that genuine excitement and happiness was like a unicorn in the real, all but non-existent. Listening on, he thought over how to answer her incoming questions. Taking them one at a time, he answered. "Enhancement slots are what give each piece of gear their strength. All items have the potential to have three weapon slots. If it is a demonic quality weapon, which can't be crafted, it can have four. Each type of item can have certain enhancements, and each enhancement cost a slot or slots. Enhancements include Damage, Mitigation, Thorns, Accuracy, and many more a list can be found here," he explained while gifting her a piece of paper. "You don't need to do anything other than tell me what enhancements you want. And to answer your final question, unless you have a profession, you cannot just give gear enhancements. They can only be crafted and if your're a Merchant by profession, you can alter them in a way that I have zero knowledge of haha."

Adhae listened to his whole speech, nodding along. "That's really cool, thank you for telling me. I appreciate it," she said while smiling wide. She took the paper as he offered it, giving it a cursory glance while he continued. She folded it in half, and looked back up at him. She laughed along with him as he finished. "Oh, I'm sure. Anyway, thank you. I'll write up that order form as best as I can. Thank you very much for the deal on it." With a last wide grin, she turned away from him and went into the corner of the room, leaning against the wall and looking down to take a more thorough look at the paper with the enhancements on it. It seemed pretty straightforward, and she already knew she wanted more protection, so she selected that to fill the two slots for upgrades that the rare piece of armour would have. Thorns seemed like a very useful perk, but she figured she would be able to get another piece of armour later. As she thought about this, another question for the shopkeeper sprang into her mind, and she decided to ask him once she was finished with the order form.

Name: Luster
Profession: Blacksmith
Rank: 8
ID: Leave Blank
Roll: Leave Blank [Leave Blank]
Item Type: Heavy Armour (Chestplate)
Quality: Rare (Tier 1)
Enhancements: (2) Damage Mitigation
Description: Appropriate to the name, the piece of armour shines with a silky luster. The light reflects off of it very softly, not in a way that would blind you if you caught it the wrong way. The normally white and silver surface turns a beautiful orange and yellow colour if the setting sun manages to shine onto it. Contrary to its looks, it is a strong piece, capable of protecting the wearer against many attacks.

It didn't take much longer for her to complete it. Once she had, she folded up the paper with the list of enhancements on it, and stood to walk to the counter again. She set the order form down along with the paper she had just folded. "I hope I've done it right, here you go. Also, I had another question." She paused for half a second to gather her thoughts, and drew her hands away from the two items on the counter. "Can someone wear more than one piece of armour? I saw some gauntlets and a helmet. If we can wear more than one piece, do the perks stack?

"Hey Oikawa, sorry about the late pick up. I was caught up in a weird quest." he stated as he entered the shop. One could easily tell the monochrome artisan had an extreme lack of sleep from his lazed expression and near shuffled walk. Upon reaching the counter Takneil took a shaky breath as he did his best not to pass out. He had been outside of a safezone for a long time, and he was too paranoid from the last time he had fallen asleep. one hundred and eighty materials stolen...he was lucky he wasn't killed. "I'll do my best not to let it happen again." he stated with a small smile.

Looking over the order, he nodded, making a few minor edits and notes so when he crafted i, it would be exactly what she wanted, and responded. "Order form looks good! Now what's your question?" Listening, he raised a gloved hand to his chin and rubbed it as he thought of how to respond. "Simply put yes. The enhancements do have a cap though. So if you have two pieces or armor that give 2 slots of mitigation each, then you'd have a useless slot of mitigation. Mitigation, like several other enhancements cap at three slots across all gear. Some enhancements have a cap of one, two or the aforementioned three so you may want to brush up on those when requesting items! That aside, I will work on your armor here shortly."

Just as he turned to head to the back, the blonde heard the familiar jingle of the shop bell and watched as a very ruff looking Takneil stepped into the shop. Waving to the lad, Oikawa assumed he was here to collect his gear, so reaching beneath the counter, he plucked the items and placed them over the counter. "All accounted for and ready to go. As for your escapade with the quest, you may want to take someone with you next time. With the rise of Laughing Coffin, things seem to be getting out of hand here in Aincrad. Or at least more so than usual."

Stepping back behind the counter Oikawa quickly gathered materials so he could begin crafting Adhaerere's request. The project wasn't overtly difficult and the design while complex was simple all the same. He decided to take his time on the request. While slowly tapping the materials, he let the game do its random generation to see if he had properly crafted the item. Though with the amount of attempts he had per day now, he reckoned he could have this created in a jiffy. He just needed patience.
