  1. Mari walked alongside Argumail as they slowly left the starter city. So he was the type of person who always looked to the future, analytical. He was right, they did have to make some sort of living, and hanging around forever in the starter towns...it just seemed too boring. "Oh Sorry, I just thought I'd call you those things -uhm, out of respect..." Mari muttered when Argumail chastised her, for calling him by 'Sir' and 'Guild Master'

"S-So what kind of a trek are we going on Argumail? What Floor?"

  2. Mari gave a small sigh, biting her lower lip. "How embarrassing...Sorry S-Sir Argumail..."

Mari's brows furrowed, as he mentioned a guild, and that he could very well die today, "Are we going s-somewhere that dangerous?" She asked curiously. Mari wanted to go out, but not if she were to die with a stranger. It was then that Argumail mentioned the very guild she was just thinking about, her eyes widened in shock.

    "The wha?"

He was a member of the guild? Not just a member but the LEADER of it? Mari secretly cursed herself, if she wasn't playing the part of the innocent girl she'd probably cuss him out, telling him to reign in his stupid guild members - tell him how Kazuya had gone mental; and perhaps, at the right price - tell him about Kazuya's split personality disorder and the hellfyre or whatever it was. Sadly, Mari couldn't say any of that. Instead she just opened her mouth in mock shock.

"A guild leader!?" She exclaimed, "Oh wow, you must be s-strong then! I think I might have h-heard of it, but I don't know if I have met anyone from it before!"

Argumail said they were all set to go, and Mari clenched her little fists giving a determined nod. "Right! Lead the way G-guild leader Argumail! Mari will follow, follow, follow!"

  3. Mari tilted her head to the side, frowning slightly. Argumail seemed like an honest guy - and yet his tone of voice changed, it grew sinister.  "Why did you say that so..uhm...menacingly?" She glanced from side to side and realized she couldn't back away, because she was backed against the wall. Mari quickly covered her face with her hands, "I don't wanna g-go with you if you're going to say things with scary v-voices!" she squeaked.

    "M-monsters I can face...because I know I can hurt them..but not people! I d-don't want to hurt people." Mari squeked again;

And it was somewhat true, the girl may be quick to anger, she may be cruel and manipulative, but she didn't see the point in actually killing anyone. This may be a virtual game, but the lives in it were all real, and she didn't feel the desire to so simply kill anyone. Unlike the other people she had met the other day; the members of the Crimson Inquisition. Such barbarians...

  4. Argumail introduced himself, and Mari simply widened her smile, “A-Argumail. That’s an interesting name!”

Mari blinked as he said he was going to go off on an adventure; good, she wanted to get out of this town, and sadly, was still too low leveled to do anything. Perhaps it’d be good to get out of the town, with any luck she may even score some loot. Weapons…armour…anything!

Mari caught his emerald gaze, bit her lower lip and glanced toward the ground, kicking up some dust with her shoe. “A-ah…an adventure sounds fun, Mr. Argumail.  But – I’m low leveled, and I uh…don’t really have any equipment – All I got is uhmm…”

Mari equipped her beginner dagger, smiling sheepishly as she showed it to him. “A tiny d-dagger…so I might not be uhm useful.” Her voice was quiet, nervous. Unless someone was extremely perceptive they wouldn’t be able to tell she was playing a charade. After her outburst the previous day, she had gotten all her pent up anger out, and found it easier to play the part of the innocent girl.

“B-But I would like to still come, if that’s ok with you?”

  5. The deceivably young looking girl grimaced, “If ya’ll wanted us to disperse you could have done it without the threats; I am beginning to think this whole…guild of inquisition is just filled with big ol’ macho men who got nothing better to do other than throw their own weight around.”

Mari watched as the three took their leave, L – the one who appeared to be either their leader or at least their superior gave one last look back over his shoulder, Mari raised a questioning eyebrow at them before turning back the other way.

She had enough of people for today; perhaps it’d be best to retire to her dingy Inn room and eat bread. Rest up, calm down. For tomorrow, she’d have to go back to her sweet and innocent theatrics.

    (COMPLETE)

  6. I got a question and I figure I will ask it here than create an entirely new thread;

In regards to Col gained where it states

'400 Col gained per page completed'

Does that apply to every person who particiapted in the PP/ OP/ thread or only the thread starter?

I looked around everywhere but couldn't find anything

  7. Mari shrugged, “Don’t apologize, honey. Geez. What a flip flop of a personality ya got there.” Mari retorted, already growing restless from the situation. He asked her to forget about their meeting today, to which Mari shrugged in reply; “What, who am I going to tell?” She gestured around her, “All my friends you see here? Please.” It was Mari’s way of saying that sure, she wouldn’t bother repeating the actions seen today, unless of course she was offered a significant trade. Information would never come for  free, but, Kazuya didn’t need to know that.

Mari learnt another name today, the black haired youth, who also appeared to  be Kazuya’s superior was named L. Wow. Short.  It had to be a nick name or something. The whole little scuffle was more or less finished. But then, another man clad in armour made himself known. Adorned in black, jutting armour it looked as though he had fallen into, or out of a thorn bush.

Acting all high and mighty, and throwing his weight around. The man used a threatening tone. Demanding them all to ‘scram’

“Oh for christs sake!” Mari exclaimed, throwing her arms down, “What the hell is it with every single person getting all up in each others faces and threatening each other with so much violence and death. Is that really how you all act in reality? Throwing your weight around threatening to kill people?”

She turned to the newcomer, pointing toward Kazuya, “First, mister woe is me over here goes mental over some trival matter, and now-“ She turned her finger toward him. “And now you, with your weird ass armour come on in boasting about your level. How do you know what levels we all are? That’s a pretty hefty assumption.”

Mari pressed her hands to her head, baffled at it all. “This is giving me a headache. We were literally done, about to go our separate ways-the end, then you storm on in like you’re king of the freakin’ hill. Did you really have to stick your beaky little nose into this?”

Mari didn’t exactly address ‘L’ as she didn’t have a problem with him, he more or less kept to himself, and didn’t throw himself around. But this new guy? Oh boy.

Today was not a good day for Mari.

  8. “I’ll do you one better, kid.” Mari retorted before sticking out her tongue toward him. It was a very juvenile action, but she didn’t care for him, nor his egotistical banter. King of Hell….what an absolute joke.  Mari groaned when she felt his calloused hand wrap around her arm, roughly pulling her closer. Great, this is the part where the bad guy goes into a deep monologue about their history, and why they are who they are today.

Kazuya started talking, yep. A Monologue. She rolled her eyes, changing her stance only when she noticed him raise his blade; she wouldn’t be able to avoid his attack – but it wasn’t exactly like he could cut out her tongue either. It was just tough talk. The strike would hurt, the pain would be excruciating no doubt, but a single strike wouldn’t be enough to kill her. He could do his worst, she would still be alive and kicking. Mari braced herself for a strike that never came. The blade faltered, and his grip loosened enough for the girl to shake her arm free.

“Well then.” Mari said as she dusted herself off, taking a step back she sighed.  Allowing the darker haired youth to take charge of the situation. He mentioned a guild, and a wife. Good information to know if she ever felt like pissing Kazuya off again.

  9. Mari rolled her eyes as Kazuya screeched, begging both her and the other man to get away from him. His voice cracked before he doubled over in laughter, his persona doing a complete 180 as he chastised her. Again, asking her to shut up, that she was nothing more than a child. Mari shrugged, her quips were somewhat childish – and she wasn’t going to rebuff that.  â€œOh I don’t deny – my words and actions are juvenile, but you’re simply the kettle calling the pot black, honey.”  She raised her eyebrow at the mention of ‘King of hell’ obviously – it wasn’t literal – more so just a self imposed title.  It also seemed like the boy suffered from some sort of split personality disorder, and she was encountering the more volatile side of himself. “That is the most egotistical smug piece of crap I’ve ever heard.” Mari arked up, stepping forward to lightly prod Kazuya in his chest.

“You want to cut my tongue out, pretty boy?” Mari scowled, “I’d like to see. You. Try. You’re a mess right now. You’re the one that needs to come to grips with who or whatever you  are. You call yourself a king of hell?” His threats didn’t phase the woman, and her words, albeit cold and cruel, were the closet Mari would get to ‘helping’ him. Perhaps it was a roundabout way of saying 'sorry' Mari was blunt, with her words, and didn’t sugar coat things. “No so called king would be as reckless and wavering in their resolve. Man the hell up.”

Mari turned to the other player, whom she had yet to learn the name of. “Sadistic, mayhaps. I know very well what this is game is capable of.” She gave him a small smile. “I’m not stupid. I don’t assume that a player having a mark would stop them killing someone. It’s simply an unfortunate repercussion. I don’t see the point in stepping lightly, if some halfwit chooses to strike me down in a heated argument. So be it.”

Mari stepped away from Kazuya shrugging, “I mean – think about it. Our consciousness is trapped here, but our physical body, in the real world. How long do you think that body will last? The way I see it, this whole place is just a ticking death clock.”

Mari scratched her chin, assessing the situation – Kazuya, on her own, she could probably manage. She’d be able to make a break for the town, where she’d sustain some damage but be safe, but the two of them at once? She didn’t stand a chance.

“Why should I leave? Both of you were the ones who approached me, I was minding my own business. I have no real qualm with you both, but as I said. I am not a nice person. You come at me spouting nonsense, and you’ll get it in return.”

  10. Mari watched, an almost bored look on her face as she watched the other man roll around in pain. “Yanno, the stone didn’t hit you – I didn’t initate any attack on you. If you strike me down now, and succeed; you’ll be labeled a Player Killer. The system will hold you accountable.” Mari grinned, as she placed both hands on her hips now, “I’m 25 – sweetheart; and I’m not acting high and mighty; I’m just a b*tch. If I were to act high and mighty, I’d go around boasting my exploits – just as you have. Learn to differentiate, m’dear.”

He responded by telling her to shut up, before quickly apologizing for his actions, Mari opened her mouth to say something else but the lad who had fallen out the tree earlier approached them, asking her to give it a rest. She shot him a dark look, his imposing height did not phase her. “Says the boy who was laughing moments before, your friend could have walked away at any time.”  The dark haired boy referred to the blonde as Kazuya.

    Kazuya.

Great, Mari now had a name to the anguished, big headed face.

“People are far too quick to anger in this place.” She said with a sigh, raising a hand to her temple. “I swear, I’m beginning to get a headache.”

  11. Mari crossed her arms, “Oh so you were lying – oh my!” She shook her head with a disapproving sigh. “oh Mr Demon-child-man…” She said mockingly, “can’t you keep your stories straight?” sigh

Mari watched, as the unnamed man before her had opened his mouth to say something, but instead, gripped his head. Seemingly in pain, “thinking too hard?” Mari asked with a grin. She still didn’t know exactly what condition he spoke of, most physical conditions shouldn’t matter at this point – since they were all trapped in virtual reality. Mental issues?

“Diddums…” Mari purred, “You’re the one that sauntered over to me – all aggressive and throwing your weight around. I don’t play nice you caught me on a bad day. The question is why should I pretend to like such a pathetic little creature such as yourself. Hmm?”

Mari paused, noticing another player, dressed in dark colours fall out of a nearby tree, laughing. Mari pointed at him. “Looks like someone either agrees with me, or finds your little charade hilarious.”

  12. Mari’s eyes lit up as she hungrily eyed the meat that was being offered to her; if she had it her way, she’d have snatched it from the foolish man’s hands before running off, but no. That wasn’t who she was pretending to be. The sweet little innocent Mari wouldn’t dare do such a cruel, rude thing.

Mari quickly shook her head, “oh gosh!” She exclaimed, “A-as happy as I’d be I don’t want to take your precious f-food from you!” Argumail simply gave her a warm smile, insisting that she took it. Mari was sure to carefully take it from his hands. She gave a small bow, dipping her head in thanks.

    “T-thank you s-so much!”

She stood up straight again, beaming happily at the stranger before her; “All I’ve had is b-bread! I know we don’t have to e-eat but I miss the taste of f-food! Thank you!”

Mari sniffed the goat meat, it smelt good. Spicy even. It was cut neatly into a convenient bite sized chunk, the girl opened her mouth with an ‘ahh’ and plopped it in, chewing it thoughtfully. Mari didn’t have to act out her next reaction, or pretend; because the meat tasted good.

“mmmmmmm…” She mused, clasping her hands together over her heart, closing her eyes thoughtfully as she rolled the juicy meat over her tongue. Swallowing she gave a happy sigh, “that was r-really good!”

If he had a cooking skill decent enough to make something like that, Mari would have to make a note as to who he was, but he was a stranger to her, she didn’t know his name – and she honestly found it quite rude – that was three people she had met now, all of whom failed to introduce themselves to her.

“O-oh! I’m so sorry!” Mari exclaimed, covering her mouth, “I- I didn’t even ask your n-name! M-my name is Mari!” She gave him another small bow, “It’s a p-pleasure to meet you!”

  13. Mari had to wonder about the truth behind the ashen mans words. He stated that he was a Player Killer, but those were marked; and not allowed in the starting area. She couldn't confirm if it was a lie or the truth. But she decided to call it a lie, if anything it'd just make him madder. Mari grinned– “Oh my, if you’re going to lie big boy you may want to make it believable. I may not know much about the dynamics of this…” She paused, twirling a finger around in a small circle, the other arm landing on her waist as she shifted her weight to one side. “This world but I do know that Player Killers are marked as such, and aren’t allowed in the starter town-“ She paused, shrugging, “Granted- I don’t know if that extends to the outskirts of the town, but if you really are such a big shot killer then you would have done away with me by now. Not do something as petty as say…” She grinned, “throwing a pebble at someone, eh?”

Mari was the one who cast the first stone, however, she wasn’t the one throwing her weight around- calling herself silly names and boasting about ‘apparent’ killings.

“I don’t blame your parents, although I think the term demon is misused here; I’d use terms like…man child, brat, cretin…urchin…but no, not a demon. I don’t give two flying hoots about whatever condition you have.”

Mari paused, noticing that he had glanced over his shoulder, was he expecting company. Did he call some sort of Calvary to back him up? Friends, comrades in arms to come to the whining kids aid?

“If you’re tired of having objects thrown at you, I’d be more than accommodating, and throw more insults your way.”  Kazuya asked if she had a reason for throwing the inanimate object at him in the first place, she shrugged.

“Nope, no reason, you were there. Wouldn’t matter who it was, I’d have thrown it regardless.”
