Oske decided to kick-start her businesses, she was going to work on little fancy snacks. She took out some flour and butter and salt in order to make some crackers, along with sliced cheese and basil and a tomato. However, as she pulled out her supplies, she dropped some of the tomatoes on the ground. Hopefully they didn't matter. She winged it on the measurements for ingredients, and over all just failed at doing everything. The crackers/bread didn't even look edible. She pushed the disgusting item aside sadly.

Hi again Aaphi! I know you're not done with mine yet, but I was wondering if maybe for my next order (if I do one) you'd be interested in... an art trade? :O
-
This sounds too complex to be a quest, perhaps it could be a GM run event. Either way, I actually kind of like it. I'm always interested in story-based rather than combat-based quests. Not 100% sure we could implement it into the system though. For example--in SAO, there isn't wounds or blood to a murder. They get hit and poof, they're gone. It also is very similar to a canon episode. I do like the concept though, it's just that it wouldn't fit in our system as is.
This actually also reminds me of an episode of one of my favorite shows, Psych :P

Butterfly Bakery
On floor 4, a tiny shack containing a small open kitchen surrounded by cabinets. The cabinets are full of spices and ingredients, along with various supplies for baking and cooking. Due to the small size of the bakery, only three tables were available—2 with 3 chairs, 1 with 2 chairs. The store, unlike Oske’s daughter’s store, was PKer accesable.

Oske took her already soggy materials and tried again. She placed the eggs in there, lettuce, boar meat, and... was she supposed to use tomatoes? Nah. She pressed the little bread together and... oh, no. It was getting soggy again. When she picked it up, the bread began to fall apart, and as her hard work fell to the floor, and tears began bubble up in her eyes as the sandwich shattered into little blue shards.
"Hey, kid," the chef grumbled. "What are you crying for?"
"I tried so hard..." Oske sniffed, wiping her tears. The chef gently pat her head.
"Don't sweat it. You're just beginning, okay?"

Oske grabbed her materials and started to get to work. She carefully took eggs and hard boiled them, then used a slicer to cut them into thin slices. "Oh..." she murmured. The egg was very... rubbery. "Oh well!" She put it between two slices of thin, tiny, triangular bread. She added lettuce, which was kind of... soggy. The bread soaked up the water, and--"Oh no!"
She had created a wet picnic snack. Sighing sadly, she pulled out what she could of the mat and started again.

Oske arrived back at the shop after she halfway finished her collection of materials. She looked rather sad when she returned. The chef was crossing his arms and glaring at her when she arrived. "Hey, I was planning to make little sandwiches, but I only collected 2 wheat, 2 lettuce, and 1 egg..." she sighed sadly. "So I'll just make whatever you had in mi--"
"You got 5 mats?" he asked.
"No, I got 2 wheat, 2 lettuce--"
"No, no," the man said, shaking his head. "Mats. You only need one for each craft. Even if the item you're making has different ingredients."
Oske stared, then facepalmed. She had been going about this all wrong.

Oske watched as Ranpu's health fell into the red zone. She gasped in horror, then shoved him back. He was no longer in harms way. She gripped her sword tight, knowing that now she had entered combat with a mob with low health and that she wouldn't be recieving a reward because of that. However, Ranpu would've died if he was hit one more time. She swung at the wolf, which dodged and snarled at her.

Don't mean to nitpick but i just read over it and it still doesn't mention restarting from 0 with each rank up. Only the people involved with this thread probably know of that and I'm sure many others still don't. All I'm stating is that it is still not addressed and the matter of whether or not we need to recalculate our exp and adjust our items and such also remain unaddressed. If I'm incorrect please don't hesitate in telling me so. I'm not trying to cause anymore trouble, but these things undoubtedly will. Also Fisherman and Merchants got a nice decrease in EXP to gain!
It doesn't say that because
1. I didn't add it, I thought it was common knowledge
2. I changed it just now to what players thought it was.
-
"Awesome! We got 'em both," Oske said with a smile. She peered in the distance, where a waterfall was a few feet ahead. Inside the cave beneath it would be a cave with rock monsters that dropped nice materials for blacksmiths. "Alrighty. It's just up ahead... let's go."
As the two began to walk, Oske decided to make conversation. "So... what floor did little Icarus come from? I'm assuming floor nine, based on his appearance. He really is quite a cutie, hehe~"
As she walked, she was careful to watch the ground for wasp nests.

The chicken jumped up and pecked Oske for one last attack. It was a mild throbbing hot pain, but she easily cut through the chicken's head. It ran around for a second as it shattered and burst into little blue shards. Oske was awarded with a mat, and she leaned back and exhaled. As she did so, an NPC from the house appeared. He shouted, "Hey! What are you doing!?"
Oske jumped in surprise, looked back, then dashed out of the farm back into the bitter cold.

With her sword still puncturing the dirt, Oske slid it to the side to cut through the chicken. It clucked hopelessly, lying on its side heavily breathing. For a moment yet again, she felt bad for the thing. It could barely fight back. Perhaps she would just... let it go? She slowly lifted her sword out of the creature that was pulsing with red lines, unsure of what she should do at that point. The chicken's eyes were weak, but still kicking with fury and rage.

The point is that the leveling up system is supposed to be hard. To become a MASTER in your craft, it take a LONG time. Since you all aren't gripping the thought of another RPG's leveling up system, I'll put it in real life terms.
It take a VERY long time to master your profession in real life. Years.
Is that something that is unobtainable? No. But it takes a while. Taking multiple days to get your level up should be required.
Mari did NOT come up with this on her own. In fact, it was a rule that was constant and just needed to be cleared up. The rule has not changed, it has been clarified and put into better terms.

Oske swung again at the chicken, who sloppily dodged and fell on its side, clucking and panting. For a moment, she felt bad for it. It was just trying to survive this death game, too... then again, it wasn't alive in the first place. It was a mob. Nothing more, nothing less. She tried to stab at the chicken again, but it flopped to the other side of her blade before it pierced the little chicken's skin.

Oske twirled her sword in a circle, then slammed it down on the chicken's back. The chicken clucked and groaned like a broken board, and as Oske removed her blade the little chicken stumbled and clucked sadly. The little thing had put up a fight, but it was no match. Oske was going to kill this little guy pretty fast, judging by the big red damage mark on its back.

Oske swung at the chicken again. It clucked furiously and ran out of the way, causing Oske's sword to bite hard into the cold dirt. She pulled it out with a little bit of a struggle, glaring at the chicken. She really didn't have time for this, as she could see the sun setting in the distance. Soon, it'd be night, and... she didn't like being outside and alone at night.

While the chicken ran around, outraged, Oske slashed down to the side of it and left another gash in its side. The pulsing red mesh-like cut glowed and sparked with little bits of fragments as they fell out. The chicken was even angrier now. Oske just looked at it. It didn't seem like it'd be much of a problem, but that was just her. Hopefully this was it's only form.

With a smile, Oske entered her friend Tyger's shop. "Thanks so much for this!" she exclaimed, handing over the 2000 Col for her two new lovely items--a weapon and a shield. She equipped them to try them on, thanked Tyger again, then pat Icarus' head just before she left.

With a flap if it's pathetic wings, the chicken ran at Oske and picked her leg again. It clucked joyfully now that it had made Oske suffer a little. Oske, only slightly damaged by the hit, slashed her sword down again to leave a gaping hole in the chicken's back. It screeched and wailed in the most chicken-like way possible, utterly outraged.

In a second attempt, Oske gathered up her ingredients and was careful when moving them so as to not drop anything on the ground. She used little bowls and cups as measurements, knowing that she only needed a little butter, twice the amount of flour, and a pinch of salt. Oske was sure she could do everything perfectly. She placed the cheese, tomato, and basil on top before placing them into a metal bin of some sort. She gently set it over the fire in the furnace. She then went to cut up some more basil for extra flair, when she totally forgot about the snack. She turned to smell it burning, and was forced to remove it from the furnace and throw out.
She wasn't off to the best start.
