  2. The day before, Emerath had managed to create a perfect craft. He had taken notes, studied them, and planned on replicating that success today. It should be simple. Just follow the same steps, receive the same results. And so, he fired up his burner, and put his materials in, and did just that. Same steps, same result, as expected. But that was the easy part. That was science. Now, Emerath was going to go back to his challenge. Making crystals. He knew he had to see success eventually, and with a Crafter's Respite potion in hand, he was going to make sure he stayed here until he saw it. W

  4. Another day, another round of potion making. Emerath was determined not to let today slip through his fingers like he had the previous day. He pored over his notes from the day before, and decided to opt into a different approach for the yellow flower he had been working with. It was clear that the flower made something, he simply had to find out what. So into the beaker it went, and one, two, and poof, he had actually managed to make a more complicated potion, after only one failure! Smiling, Emerath realized that this craft couldn't get any better, and so he quickly grabbed some papers and j

  6. Emerath had gone out gathering, and had returned home with a renewed sense of vigor. Well, that and he had gotten some sleep, had a nice stew, and then documented and took notes on each different plant type he had gathered. But then he had a renewed sense of vigor. It didn't matter too much anyway, what mattered was his experiments and what they yielded. So he got to work on one of the new flowers he had picked. A simple yellow flower, that seemed easy enough to mix into a potion. He but it in the burner, and of the five flowers that he worked with, only one yielded any notable results, that b
  7. Emerath made his way into the shop of someone that he had heard many adventurers call knowledgeable and experienced. The trip had been a bit of a journey, and in all honesty he hadn't really made the trip for even that great of a deal or sale, but he had been able to finish a couple points on his Floor 11 map, so it was at least worth it for that. As he stepped inside, he waited until the man behind the counter had a free moment, and then he placed two consumables on the table. "Two Unidentified T1 Rare Consumables for you. I don't need identification, I simply wish to sell them off, if you'll

  9. Now that Emerath had finally returned, and had made good on cleaning up the place and testing the equipment, he figured it was time to drag out some of the old materials and give crafting a go again. He fired up the burner, and got the beakers ready, before pulling out some of the roots he had gotten at some time or another, stored away safely in his inventory. He didn't like to make use of the system when he could help it, but sometimes he just couldn't. Lesser of two evils he supposed. The first root seemed to make a simple potion. He had remembered that this concoction was good for sim

  14. Acquisition: Quest <<Feeding the Enemy>> Name: Mist ID: 38409 Roll: LD: 18 + 1 (19) Item Type: Familiar Quality: Uncommon Enhancements: +1 Accuracy Description: A female barn owl found on the 4th floor. Mist is a playful owl, and is relatively calm, much like her master. But her speed is without peer, allowing for momentary distractions in battle, so that Emerath can land better strikes in combat without fear of the enemy dodging.
  15. Emerath raised an eyebrow at Flints as she alluded to the idea that she wasn't referring to herself. Emerath shook his head and shrugged, which prompted a small hoot from Mist as she shifted a bit on his shoulder during the shrug. "Well, you have stood by me, and stayed close. I highly doubt my brother is the only cause for that, as you are around me, like this, even when he's not around." He smiled at her, "So even if you weren't referring to yourself, I'm still thankful." He trudged along in the snow as he considered her question about Endilix and said, "Well, I suppose you'd just have to as
  16. Emerath had started to follow after Flints, and had absentmindedly pulled out some more bread from his inventory and was feeding it to Mist as they walked, who seemed to be accepting the bread happily. Emerath smiled at the owl. She was a beautiful creature, and he wondered how she would acclimate herself to his lab. He supposed he'd have to get himself a nice bird cage for her to live in, although he'd have to keep it open, as he felt like she wouldn't like to be all cooped up. Emerath scratched around her beak again as she nibbled at the bread in his hand and said, "No, can't keep you cooped
  17. Emerath looked over at the owl and cautiously took a finger to scratch the owl around the beak, which to Emerath's surprise it accepted and closed its eyes with a soft hoot. Emerath smiled at it, "Based on the softness of the hoots, I'd have to say a she. Although, that isn't the most defining factor. I guess we'll just have to see if she lays eggs at some point. But that's what I'm going to go with, since I don't know how to check the gender of owls. She shall be a she... and, her name will be Mist." Emerath smiled, and the owl hooted in response, seemingly happy with the name choice. He look
  18. Emerath sat still as Flints reached out to the owl on his head. He didn't want to move and make the owl do something like hurt her, as the owl just seemed to cock its head at her reaching out. The owl gave a louder hoot at her, before hopping around a bit on Emerath's head. "Flints, I dunno if we should be petting him yet. Birds are different from dogs. He has hardly even gotten used to me. I don't want him to bite you or something..." He looked up at the owl as best as he could, before he finally began to stand up from the snow with a shiver. He shook off the excess from his clothes and the o
  19. Emerath slowly made his way down from the branch, trying to be careful not to spook his new friend as he made his way down. In his care, Emerath actually ended up slipping on the snowy branch and falling onto his butt in the snow. He sighed and blinked at Flints and Antillian next to him as his new owl friend landed on his head and gave a soft hooting noise. Emerath couldn't help but chuckle as he blushed a bit in embarrassment. "I like to think you knew I was a charmer. Or else you probably wouldn't be around me so much," he teased, trying to take the attention off of his own silly little fai
  20. Emerath was delighted to see his brother, as he pulled out the freshly converted heavy armor for Endilix to see, "Here, it's all ready, and no, she was in here talking about going on quests with some new friends. I think I convinced her to accompany her on further adventures, so that should put our mind at ease." He let Endilix admire the armor before placing it in a trade window with his brother, "I really hope she enjoys this. It's well deserved after all the hard work she has put in with us. And well, for putting up with us in general." He gave his brother a wink, before accepting his half

  22. Emerath was a bit shaken up by everything that had happened and so was Flints, it seemed. He gave a sigh, not actually entirely sure how to recover things. He sighed and walked along behind her as she searched the sky, wondering what was going through her mind. Then he saw movement in the snow. He saw a rabbit poke its head out of a small rabbit hole and begin to hop along. Emerath cocked his head, and grabbed Flints by the wrist as he watched it shake the snow from itself. Had it been hiding from something? Emerath thought to himself as he watched the rabbit look around cautiously, before beg
  23. Emerath produced a sack of potions for the woman with a few motions of his inventory as he pulled up menu options for his shop. "No problem, 4 potions coming right up." He put them in his trade window with her, and accepted the trade between them for the items and then he smiled at her and said, "I'm glad to hear that you're out making friends in the world of Aincrad. But you know, you really should be taking your medicine man along. Better to not have to use the potions if I can just heal you, right?" He patted Flints on the arm and continued to smile at her, "It'd make me, and probably Endil
  24. Emerath had just finished brewing up a new set of potions when he walked out of his lab and ran smack into Flints of all people. He grabbed her so she didn't fall after running into him and held her arms as she flailed around and seemed wild eyed and confused. When she had seemed to finally finish, he continued to hold her arms and looked at her and said, "Flints... Flints! It's okay! What in the world has gotten into you?!" Emerath shook his head and said, "I'll sell you potions. That's what this shop is for, just calm down and stop flailing before you break something, or me!" He sh
