  1. Put short, Player Killing should always be permission based.

Having villains and murderers is extremely fun for plot; however, it should be done for story and only story.
If you are going out trying to murder everyone without permission just to prove you’re some bad guy IC or are really strong, you’re doing it not for story, but because you feel you either have to OOC prove yourself by killing off fictional characters, or because you get some kind of OOC enjoyment by taking away the hard work of others or making your character great at the expense of other people.

In other words, it’s just mean when it is without permission. Don't enable people to be jerks.

While the site wants to remain as close to SAO as possible, bear in mind that this is a roleplay site, not a death game MMO anime. Nor is it an MMO video game where death means respawn; SAO means you’re out of the game if you die. All your hours spent leveling meant absolutely nothing.

As a beginner roleplayer or newbie to the site, the rule regarding all threads being KE just appears flat out intimidating. What is the point of even joining and roleplaying, if someone can just jump in and kill you to give themselves some kind of boost?

One idea is to keep lower levels ‘protected’. This “solution”, however, is quite redundant. Since once you are high enough, all of that lower level work can be thrown out the window.

Ideally, tags are redundant; threads should all be No-Kill, and only OOC permission may allow a character to be killed off by someone.

The best course of action is to understand that SAO-RPG, the roleplay site, is NOT Sword Art Online, the anime.
Members should ask for permission to kill a character. If the target says no, scaring is fine, like Jomei and Kisodeth mentioned. It is fun to feel a threat IC, but to not actually feel threatened OOC that your character might die. We come together to roleplay for fun in the end, and not to constantly have to be on our guard, on edge, and worried about someone able to take that fun away.

    TL;DR:
What Jomei said. PK with permission only.

  2. All she wanted to do was pet the turtle… nothing more, nothing left. Perhaps the explanation could have been enough for the girl, but as soon as she felt the hands wrap around her side to pick her up, Eira felt a sharp jolt shoot through her. The physical contact was unexpected, and extremely uncomfortable, startling the child as it took her by complete surprise. As soon as Hikoru lifted her away from the turtle, and the ground, she kicked with all of her small might, and flailed her arms desperately, in an attempt to push away from the man and free herself.

His words were lost on her, and while she subconsciously understood what she had said, she no longer cared. She just wanted to move away from being picked up. Out of her mouth came loud shrieks of protest, until Hikoru finally set her back down in her chair. However, this was currently the last place she wanted to be. Pouting and releasing an angry groan, she pushed herself out of her chair, clutching the ferret he had given her and putting it down on the table. She loved the ferret a lot, but if she kept a hold of it, would he come back to pick her up again?

Eira was not about to take that risk. Distancing herself from the man’s ferret, she quickly moved away from her seat and art supplies. She would go to something that could be a better one to comfort her than any person in the room; the wolf. The young blonde began to approach the white-furred canine who sat close to the snowy-haired man. Last time she approached, the wolf had growled. Perhaps the she-wolf was just having a bad day, and needing some comforting. Now was the best opportunity, seeing as the child was in need of the same thing.

As she tried to calm herself down, she ran over from her seat to the large canine and attempted to quickly put her arms around the wolf and cuddle. Hopefully the wolf would be put in a better mood, along with the girl. The white fur had been soft and fluffy, after all, like a pillow. Plus, the animal was cute, like a domestic dog, only larger and prettier. And unlike turtles, dogs usually did not bite, right? They were obedient animals who respected humans, typically, which made them loyal friends. The trauma of being picked up and rushing over to the wolf for comfort made Eira oblivious to the rest of the tension in the room, regarding the players and boss organization. Right now in the world, only the alabaster-hued canine mattered.

  3. It was as if an angel of light had appeared, as the blonde approached the young girl, who stared up at her with curious, blue eyes. The word, ‘neechan’, was one that the child had never heard before, but surely, hopefully, it was not a bad word. Just an unknown word. The woman leaned down towards her, and the gentle smile reassured the ever so suspicious Eira.

Looking for a place to stay, definitely. A bench would typically do, as the first floor rarely became too cold in the warmer season. Plus, she had her blanket. But the idea of staying somewhere that was truly warm and comfortable was enticing to the little girl, who had slowly adjusted to the harshness of sleeping under the stars.

Fortunately, mosquitos were not a thing to worry about in Aincrad, but beds were still preferable to benches. Or even a chair or carpeted floor. The potential promise of food was also extremely enticing. “Yes!” she replied in a simple manner, mostly in regards to the first question. She was looking for a place to stay, yes, and accepted the invitation to stay in the inn room with the woman. Yes to each thing the woman had to say, and hopefully she would understand the answer. Eira’s face lit up with a warm and happy smile as she enjoyed the thought. However, she contemplated the offer again, thinking about the pretty woman's words.

"Can I stay in the room and have dinner? Or just one?" she attempted to verify, shamelessly asking. If it was one or the other, the food was almost preferable to the room. It was not every day that she received a full meal, after all.

  4.

Mi pienen kissan jaloin loukseni hiipii. Eira remembered the line and mouthed it to herself, the voice of her father’s singing ringing in her mind. The song was not in English, but the child remembered every word and note of it. She did not recall the language that it had been sung in, but recalled her father telling her that the line in particular, which seemed like the most complicated for him to sing, meant ‘creeping to me on kitten paws’. In context, the song was a confusing one, and though she liked it, Eira never bothered to think about it too much.

Now that she was in Aincrad, however, such details of various memories flooded back. She missed her father, and his deep, baritone, musical voice. She missed her entire family, and could only hope to see them again soon. How long would they be in this game. What did it require for the grown-up players to ‘win’?

The saying was, if you died in the game, you died in real life. However, the young girl simply could not wrap her mind around how that worked. They were in a video game, and she was only in there because of the strange helmet-like hat that she had seen her sister use when beta-testing. There was nothing in her sister’s room that could harm her, so how could she die in real life if she died in the game? It made no sense, and her mind could only apply childlike fantasies in an attempt to explain the situation.

It was evening, and time to settle down. As a result, Eira kept her blue eyes open in hopes of scouting out an open bench, or somewhere good to sleep. She had a blanket in her inventory that she would pull out when she found one. Most, however, were currently occupied. This was unfortunate.

  5. The explanation given to the young blonde by Itzal was confusing, to say the least. Big words such as mitigation, and perplexing terminology made it difficult for the child to understand. Deciding that it was too stressful and taxing to try to piece together and figure out, Eira went back to coloring. Upon finishing, she proudly showed off her masterpiece, and basked in the attention that followed. Hikoru, the one who at least in the child’s mind seemed to be in charge, complimented it, as did Itzal. However, the bubbly feeling of that quickly went away as a new distraction presented itself.

“Ferret!” she squeaked in delight as the ferret crawled out of Hikoru’s jacket and approached her. Happily, she kept the small, furry creature on her and attempted to cuddle it happily. She had been around ferrets before in real life at a friend’s house. Luckily from that, she knew how to properly handle it without hurting or making it uncomfortable. Now that she was done coloring… what next to do?

Eira considered going back to the wolf who had been previously growling. She did not know why the white she-wolf growled, and could only guess it was probably having a bad day. Because of that, she wanted to do her best to cheer up the creature. Before she did, however, she overheard the blonde-haired woman, Kasier, whispering to Itzal. She was seated right next to the dark-haired boy, and picked up on the conversation. The answer Itzal gave was confusing, and rather inaccurate, in her opinion. “I wanted to color!” she explained, holding up the picture of the blue, purple, and red moth colored in a spectacular fashion with crayons. “Do you like it?”

Suddenly, another player with blonde hair and blue eyes walked over with his menu open. He spawned a piece of candy- a lollipop- and handed it to the nine year old. He suggested that she go outside to swing, though the thought was not an interesting one, in Eira’s mind. She already frequented the swing a lot, and doubted that there was a crowd of people outside around there to watch. “I don’t want to swing right now,” she replied bluntly and sincerely. It was true. She wanted to stay in the room with the grown-ups. Rarely did gatherings like this occur, and she wished to be included and to stay and watch. Besides, Aincrad had not any pet stores, so she enjoyed playing with the various animals that people brought with them.

Speaking of pets, Eira instantly spied the other one that she had missed. He was on the back of a man who seemed to be extremely quiet and somewhat timid, from what her young and innocent mind could perceive. “Thanks for the candy,” she chirped at the blonde-haired man as she began to creep out of her seat. “Itzal please don’t let anyone take my seat.”

With that, the child began to walk over towards the brown-haired man with the turtle on his back. She had not met a reptile other than Velnia, Itzal’s purple dragon. Approaching the man with the small lollipop in her mouth and the Ferret supposedly resting on her shoulder, blue eyes locked on the turtle’s hard shell. Eventually she stopped at Shield’s seat and attempted to reach out her hand to pet the turtle’s hard shell. It would not feel soft and furry, but surely still interesting for at least a little while.

  6. Young ears, and an avatar far too weak to participate in any sort of combat, had not received wind of the meeting that was to take place at the Celestial Ascendants guildhall. To her, the day was like any average day in the video game. She had been fortunate enough to find this place as a safe-zone, an area where no monsters could show up, and no overly-mean people had power to hurt others.

The last thing the youthful blonde expected was to walk into the main room with the largest table to see so many people. Usually it was rather quiet around there, and the table was the perfect place to sit down and color when she had nothing better to do, or was too tired to go outside. Fortunately, it seemed that most of the strangers were using their inside voices, and not speaking in loud tones that would easily overwhelm the child. Also, there were seats still open around the table. Still clutching her cheap sketchbook and box of crayons, Eira decided that she still wished to draw and color, while also being included with the grown-ups and big kids.

Not only that, but she was slightly protective of her now-favorite table for coloring, as well. As she approached, the first thing to catch her attention was the man introducing his ‘familiar’, Balthazar. What kind of creature was that? It was very big and bulky, like some kind of muscular dog, badger, or bear. Yet it had a beak and bird-like face that resembled an owl. She instantly loved the fuzzy animal, and began to plan out her course of action for meeting it.

With a neutral expression, Eira casually sauntered towards the table as a black-haired lady inquired about the seating. Seeing as this table was now her favorite, she saw no reason to check first about the seating arrangements, or ask for permission. Walking over towards Itzal, an extremely familiar face, she placed her sketchbook on the table, marking her spot, and the box of crayons on the actual seat. She would attempt to shoot the dark-haired young man a glance to see if he could ‘save her seat’ for her, and prevent anyone else from taking that. Nonverbal communication… would it actually work? She did not see Velnia around, so she could not ask the small, purple dragon to guard the seat for her.

However, she wasted no time in following through with what she wanted to do. Leaving the art supplies under the assumed watchful gaze of Itzal, Eira would make her way over to a rather menacing-looking man- the one who gave the announcement of his new companion, which he called a ‘familiar’. Had he not been in the guildhall, and not surrounded by people who seemed fairly trustworthy in her eyes, she likely would have been scared. Surely though, with the guild around, they would protect her if he really was a scary or mean sort. Blue eyes focused on the owlbear, Eira would reach up her hand to try to stroke the creature. Hopefully it was friendly, or else it would not be allowed indoors, right? Logic in a nutshell, for the young girl. “Hi Balthazar,” she said, mouthing the long name under her breath a second time, after saying it once. It was a strange word, and had an interesting feel when said.

Regardless of any reaction from the owlbear and the scary, armored man, Eira finally noticed something equally fluffy sitting on the ground. It was perched near the snowy-haired man she had met once before, who had inquired about food on the first floor many weeks ago. Unfortunately, she had sped on ahead, and lost herself in the crowd, never to see him again until recently. Last time she had spoken with him, however, he did  not have the fluffy wolf at his side. Moving at a casually fast pace, the blonde-haired child moved towards the white-furred canine, smiling happily as she attempted to pet the wolf between the ears. Without permission, once more, but again she assumed that if it were mean or aggressive towards people, it would have been put outside like any other not-so-nice animal.

As Eira enjoyed her petting of the white wolf, her attention snapped back up towards the strange lady to enter the room. She had platinum blonde hair, from the looks of it, and a rather flamboyant personality and manner of speech. Of course, she had to use a lot of big words and meanings that Eira was not familiar with, but her demeanor was enough to hold the child’s attention for at least a little while. Seeing as more people were gathering, she decided to take her seat again, and made her way around the table to find her art supplies and thankfully untaken seat. Unfortunately, she had been forced to miss the turtle hanging on the back of Shield, who would have been fun to interact with.
Lifting the box of crayons from her chair, Eira placed them on the table and opened them as she seated herself. She took out her favorite colors to use- blue, red, green, black, and orange crayons, but left the yellow, white, and other colors in the box for the time being.

Blue eyes gazed down to focus on her sketchbook, as she tried to think of what to draw. She could attempt to draw the wolf, as she had drawn canines before, but the thought of using the white crayon did not please Eira. After all, it was so difficult to see on paper, no matter what lighting one used. She could use a black crayon to outline the wolf, but what was the point in that if she was unable to color it? The owlbear would be fun to draw, but Eira did not feel confident yet in drawing something so bulky, that was also birdlike. What if her drawing was not exactly accurate, and it made the scary, armored man mad? The thought was terrifying.

Before Eira could continue to muse on what to draw, Hikoru began to speak. Her head snapped up to stare at him as he spoke about some confusing subject that she hardly understood. “What is a tank and why do 'they' have to be hit?” she whispered to Itzal, genuinely confused and curious. Why was it a job to be hit? That did not seem like much fun.

Regardless of if she received an answer, Eira continued to listen to Hikoru’s monologue. He spoke of the ‘boss’, which was a moth named Mothra the Magnificent. It sounded like something out of a fairy tale, really. Her father back at home was a boss, so was this moth sort of like her father? Hikoru spoke of it being dangerous, though Eira was already zoning out at that time as she attempted to brainstorm the moth.

A boss moth… a moth was a little like a butterfly, right? That was it! She would draw Mothra, the Magnificent Boss. Picking up her black crayon, Eira first doodled a small circle, no more than an inch in diameter, to serve as the head. Underneath that, she drew a thin oval to be the body, that was roughly three inches long. After she filled in the body with the black crayon, she picked up the red crayon and drew two misshapen circles to be the wings on one side, and mirrored them to the best of her ability for the other side.

Picking up the blue crayon, she lightly shaded a glaze of blue over the wings, and added red stripes on the right side, and red polkadots on the left. This was supposed to be a Magnificent Moth, so it had to be unique; the same pattern on both sides would not do. Because it was a Boss, she decided to give it orange antennae, to be blonde like her dad. Yellow was too light of a shade, thus was the reason she settled for orange. Finally, she used the purple crayon to give it a smile and dot-eyes. Once she was almost done, she finally pulled out the yellow crayon to draw a circle with spikes coming out all sides to be the sun off to the upper right corner. Finally, a signature- her real name, ‘Lily Geisel’, was printed in her ‘best’ nine year old handwriting below the moth, along with ‘Mr. Mothra’ above the antenna.

Another person had arrived at the meeting, a bit late, and gave his input when Hikoru asked for questions or ideas from the information he had given. Now was the perfect time for her to show off what she had drawn. It was the Boss of the moths, so knowing what it probably looked like could help them!

“Everyone look!” Eira blurted out with a wide smile, sitting up on her knees in her chair, so she was tall enough for everybody to see clearly. Picking up her sketchbook, she turned it towards the others, so they could bestow their attention on her latest masterpiece. “It’s Mr. Mothra the Magnificent Boss!”

  7. Italian restaurant? It was too bad that the video game appeared to have little in the way of ‘fast food’, which was supposedly bad for you, but extremely delicious at the same time. Pizza was ‘fast food’, typically, but did they serve it at the fancier ‘Italian restaurants’ as well? Only time would tell.

However, the more important question as to if the dragon was coming along was finally answered, and in a way that pleased the young girl. While she did not believe that the cute Velnia was capable of killing a human, concerning her size, it was comforting to know that they would not be leaving the cute creature outside or alone while they got food. But was it true that she could really eat an entire pizza on her own? She was so tiny, so surely her stomach was smaller than a human’s. “Wouldn’t a whole pizza make her sick?” the blonde inquired curiously. Eating too much made her sick, and she assumed it was the same for any animal.

Eira understood the gesture to follow, which encouraged the girl to walk alongside him. Three minutes of walking was nothing, and it likely would not be long before the trio could smell the fresh garlic and tomatoes of Italian cooking. Velnia poked her head down, almost startling the child, as she was unable to see what was dead ahead with the dragon in her vision. “Velnia, I can’t see!” she giggled, attempting to gently pick the dragon up to hold in her arms, instead of letting it ride on her head and possibly obstruct her view again. Like every little girl, Eira simply wanted to hold and cuddle the creature, finding it much more satisfying than just wearing it like a hat.

  8. The young blonde continued to keep her blue eyes on the tiny dragon after she had nodded and responded to the man. She rarely thought back to the day the announcement of them being trapped had been made. The scary red-hooded figure still loomed in the back of her mind, somewhat frightening her.
However, he had used long and incomprehensible words for the most part, and while she had gotten the gist, she simply marked him as a confusing one on the list of those she might actually remember, and moved on with her ‘life’. If anything, she had other things to think back to, and daydream about, even though she tried her hardest to push ‘those’ thoughts away.

He then asked what she would like to eat, and told her that she could pick anything. That was a sound for sore ears, as it was hard to get food to begin with here, and she rarely ever got a real say in what she would receive for her next meal. Did this man really mean it?

Eira thought about it, quietly musing her options. She did not know the restaurants, stores, markets, and cafes in the area, but he did not specify where-- only what. At first, the child thought about macaroni and cheese. Her older sister made the best ever, out of a box, and somehow fixed it in a way that was tastier than the way her mother did. Then again, other restaurants typically had a ‘fancier’ macaroni and cheese; so the idea simply would not do. She could ask for any sort of junk food too… but was he offering just a meal, dessert, or both?
At least she had enough sense, despite her age, to make a wise choice in the matter. “I want pizza,” she would tell him in a grateful, chipper, and decisive manner, finally looking away from the dragon for once, to meet his sapphire-hued eyes.

She thoroughly answered his question, and now it was time to ask her own. “Is Velnia coming too?” Eira questioned, tilting her head back towards his companion, and daring not call her just ‘the dragon’, like her parents would call most of her temporary-adoptive pets she would bring in from the backyard.

  9. Eira had been fortunate to have met at least a few reptiles in her life. A bearded dragon at a friend's house, a snake and tiny alligator at a special animal encounter in class, and many small lizards and turtles and frogs in her own backyard. Never before, however, had she ever encountered the winged creature known as a dragon. She read about them in books, but all those books portrayed them as fictional, or simply ideas generated by ancient civilizations in their mythology. Though she could not read well, the pictures in the books were worth a thousand words. Aincrad was a world of fantasy, that much she knew, but in her own imagination, the animals were all somehow real, and had been imported into the game from real life. They were not just computer graphics. As for the NPC that were human, to her, they were also people in real life, like everybody else. The term NPC always confused her, with her perceiving it more as the word, 'enpisee', and not three different letters.

Dragons, somehow, had to be real, or was the game really that magical? The fact puzzled the small girl, though she had not another instant to think about it as the creature climbed onto her arm. Her first impulse was to leap back and shake it off, as she disapproved of the unexpected movement and touch. However, she somehow was quick to remind herself that this was a cute animal, and thus it meant no harm. Besides, if it was anything like the lizards in her yard, if it bit her, it would not hurt much, even though it was larger than the average anole or gecko.

What surprised her most of all was grin on the dragon's face. It almost seemed more human-like than the 'smiles' she perceived on the faces of other animals, especially reptiles. The creature then began to crawl all over the young girl, who was tempted to jump back in her surprise. The creature's tiny claws and feet tickled, and the instinct to either laugh or protest was strong. Deciding to take the neutral route, for once, the girl made no sound and waited for the creature to end up on her shoulder and lick her cheek. It was acting more like a dog than it was a reptile. Was it sick?

The man who owned the creature chuckled, and his reassurance that the dragon liked her made Eira give a wide grin as she thought about it. The owner always knew the most about their pet, usually, and this person appeared to own the dragon. "Velnia," she repeated, saying the flying creature's name and reaching her opposing hand up in an attempt to stroke its small head, all while being careful to avoid accidentally poking it in the eyes. She heard the man's name, though was not so keen as to repeat it, as the small pet of his possessed more of her attention. However, she did not ignore him completely, and for that, she was rewarded.

They were going somewhere to eat? If she had her way, she would spend the entire day with the small creature, so naturally, she wished to join them. And luckily enough for her, she could say yes, having a bit of col on her, instead of turning it down or behaving awkwardly about having no money. After all, it was rude to impose, her mother had always taught her, and even here, trapped in the game, she still did her best to follow the rules her parents had set. Upon his offer, the blonde took a few moments to consider it, before she eagerly nodded and replied with a smile. "Okay! Thanks!"

    @Itzal

  10. The blue blob suddenly moved, though it hardly captured the girl's attention, who was focused solely on the felid NPC. To her, it was a real cat of sorts, as the game was far too realistic for her young mind to accept it as anything but reality. A strange one, but another reality she had been pushed into by that video game platform. It was not until the man removed his hood and revealed his face did she even somewhat acknowledge his presence. Luckily, he moved the right way; keeping his motions subtle and quiet. Just like the critter she was petting, she too, was not difficult to startle; especially when she was not paying attention.

The only sound present was the purring of the feline who sat comforted under her fingertips, as she continued to gently stroke its soft fur. The curious voice broke through the silence and purring, and for once, the small girl finally turned her head to truly show that she was acknowledging the fact that he was there. Her hand on the cat slowed, though she made certain not to slow down too much, else allow the cat to grow bored and leave her again. She blinked vivid blue optics at him as he spoke, mouthing the words slightly before tilting her head and speaking aloud, while mirroring his curiosity. "Familiar?"

Eira had little idea as to what he could have been referring to. Is this her familiar? Did he mean himself, the cat, or some object? He was definitely a confusing person, though she would attempt to do her best to respond and answer his question. "I'm familiar with the cat. I met him once before. I'm not familiar with you. Neither of you are 'mine' though," she explained, genuinely confused. As soon as she spoke, however, she returned her gaze to the cat, who at this point in time, was a little bit more interesting and entertaining than the confusing man.

  11. Eira slid off of the edge of the fountain and rose to her feet, before turning to the white-haired man with a mile. He was odd- she had not met many people with white hair before, but simply went on ahead to assume it was something like platinum blonde, and completely natural. Maybe she was just seeing it in weird lighting. She was prepared to begin searching for that person before who had given her the bun, but only with the older boy looking for them with her. His words confused her, however, as he seemed to somewhat agree to looking for the person with her, saying it sounded lovely. But what was he referring to in regards to rewards? "A little reward?" she echoed, blinking as she gazed at him, and frowning slightly as she tried to understand what he meant. A reward for her, or for the person with the bun, and why was he asking if she would mind a reward? That was a silly question to ask, after all, but why was he going to reward anyone?

    He was a confusing one.

  12. A tiny bit of col given to her by some player she never learned the name of... such a gift was a blessing, and Eira was going to put the money to good use. She wandered through the town on the first floor, keeping her blue eyes open for any sign of a shop worth buying from. Specifically, she wanted food, and good food at that. Anything besides the tasteless bread that was cheap and at least somewhat easy to obtain in the Town of Beginnings. The small girl eyed a rather handsome-looking cafe or restaurant of sorts directly ahead. Quickening her pace, she began to make her way to it, only to stop, startled, by a thud from close by. Turning her head, the blonde gazed at the man who had magically fallen from the sky and now in front of the cafe, along with his dragon pet.

At first, the child was still upset at being startled so easily, though her attention was quickly diverted to the small purple dragon flying near the dark-haired man. Never before had she seen such a creature in the game. As if by instinct, Eira began to gravitate towards the man and his dragon, her blue eyes not moving to anything else as she drew closer. Once within reach, the girl attempted to reach out her hand to pet the tiny dragon. It had not occurred to her with the suddenness that it was better to ask for permission to do such a thing. Presently, the man nearby hardly existed; only the dragon mattered.

  13. The bun was delicious; enjoyed by the young girl as she ate it. Despite this only being a virtual reality, and not real life, the food was still good. In the child's mind, it sustained her real body too, which was probably still lying on her older sister's bed for all she knew. One day, she could return to them, somehow. She knew that they would wait for her, and would probably miss her. She missed them too- and though she forced herself not to cry very often anymore, the thought of them lingered with her every day. Thus, it was her duty to simply survive, and hope that some great hero or warrior would win the game for everybody. She fantasized about it often, and found herself doing it once again as she slowly nibbled on the bun that had been given to her.

Her thought process would have continued as such, had not the voice from the man next to her broken into her childlike daydreams. Looking up from her bun while still chewing, Eira focused on the person who had spoken. Odd white hair, probably platinum blonde, duller eyes, and a fancy garment of some sort, signifying that he was a player of a fair level; that was all the child first observed. Slowly, his words would sink in as she glanced down at the bun in her two hands, and back at him again. "I don't know. Somebody gave it to me," she responded directly and honestly. She had no idea where the person had gotten the bun, nor did she know if they had made it themselves or not.

"Do you want one? I could help you find the person who gave it to me. Maybe they have more," she offered, attempting to be helpful for once. Most likely, it would be rude for her to directly ask for another, but this fellow himself could ask for one from that person, if he wanted. Eira was willing to assist him in finding the person with the buns, sympathizing with the fact that he could be hungry like she was, and in need of food, having not seen the sandwiches he was eating earlier.

  14. The streets were proving to show no fruit, as Eira was unable to find the small critter from earlier. Sighing, the little girl decided to check the many other alleyways. The fluffy creature was elusive, but the blonde was determined to find it. Turning the corner to enter another alleyway, blue eyes instantly focused on the feline creature who sat calmly, nibbling on the bread.

Eira hardly noticed the man sitting next to it. While she took into consideration that he was present, he did not matter currently in the big scheme of things; only the catlike creature did. She noted that feeding the animal was a smart thing to do, and unfortunately, she had nothing to offer the tiny NPC at the time, already struggling as it was to feed herself on a daily basis. Luckily, she knew better than to run over and possibly scare away the critter. Thus, she approached calmly and slowly, before getting on her hands and knees to gently approach the animal that was feeding on the bread. She did not acknowledge the man, as her attention was solely fixed on nothing but the cat. Once she was close enough, she gingerly reached out her hand to try to pet the fluffy mammal on the back, trying her best not to scare it away. Hopefully, the man next to her would make no sudden movements, but unfortunately, he was the last thing on her mind; only the cat mattered.

  15. The stories and various books read to her at night began to flood back into her mind. Now they were but distant memories, yet somehow, Eira was able to remember them ever so vividly. She wished she could find the books again, read the intriguing stories, and flip through the colorful art. Life in the Town of Beginnings was boring, but it was all she could do to just fight hunger and survive on her own. People were at least generally friendly to her, often stopping to talk once in a while, or giving her various unwanted things, such as food, her blanket, and more. None of it was asked for, but greatly appreciated by the young girl.

It was noon, though the young girl had already eaten a decent lunch, and was currently on her feet and walking about the streets. There was a weird cat-like animal near one alleyway she had discovered, and though it escaped her sight last time, she was determined to look for it again. Eira thoroughly checked the small alleyway, but upon not finding the fluffy NPC, she began to search the main street. It was crowded, as usual, both with NPCs and Players. The small blonde had grown quite skilled at maneuvering through the masses, and was typically able to dodge any oncoming people, to avoid being touched. Naturally, however, when she was looking for a small critter, avoiding the crowd was the last thing on her mind, and Eira unfortunately had no idea where, what, or who she was heading into.

  16. The first floor was all that the young girl had ever known. She hardly ever cared about what was beyond the first floor, and the Town of Beginnings, where she lingered in order to stay safe. Whatever was beyond the borders of the safe zone was a mystery to her, but not one that she contemplated very often. In the end, everything did come down to survival, even in a safe place. Hunger was a thing even in a video game, and the blonde could feel her avatar growing hungrier and hungrier as the hours went on. It was nearing lunch time, and she hardly had enough money for food. Someone earlier had been kind enough to give her a rather delicious bun, which she chose to save until she needed it.

Despite being so young, she was smart enough to save the food until when she was hungry, which was now. Retrieving the bun from her inventory, Eira eagerly grabbed onto it and shamelessly sat down at the edge of the fountain. There were a few other people nearby, and some sat on the fountain as well- some NPCs, and some players. She hardly cared, however, and made no effort to acknowledge them or make eye contact; all that mattered was the delicious source of food in her tiny hands.

    • Her Story •

Lily Yvette Geisel was raised in a middle-classed family of four, all of whom she loves very dearly. She is the middle child, though undoubtedly the most problematic of her siblings. Her mother is a middle school teacher, while her father is a successful real estate agent- a normal family, and one that Lily loves dearly. Her older sister is in late high school, while her younger brother is in kindergarten... an average family, no doubt. To be ripped away from them was traumatizing to the young girl, who dared to use her beta-tester sister's Virtual Reality gear for herself one day; the day that Sword Art Online was launched. The excitement that exuded from her older sister intrigued Lily, who was determined to try it out while her sibling was away. The penalty would be a high one, as she was whisked into the game, and permanently separated from her family and real life, as far as she knew. Only now, does her story in the death game of SAO really begin.

    • Virtues •
Honest ✿ Eira is an honest individual, who is trustworthy and fairly open in her opinions for the most part. She tells the truth, and sees little point in lying or not being clear. Despite being reserved and quiet, she is still a sincere and candid child, who speaks her mind regardless of the situation; especially if she was the one addressed.

Organized ✿ Despite being so young, this child is an extremely administrative and organized person, almost obsessively so. She enjoys things that are arranged in a systematic manner, and rules that are clear and definitive. Naturally, things that are unorganized and unstructured overwhelm Eira, even though a few of her own variations of organization can be questionable at best.

Creative ✿ Like many children her age, Eira is extremely colorful and artistic. She prefers activities that have to do with the arts, especially drawing, painting, and traditional media opposed to physical pursuits. Her creativity is also seen in basic problem-solving and day to day requirements and activities, and may also come out in battle, which can potentially be more of a hindrance and mistake than anything promising.

    • Flaws •

Different ✿ In a crowd, Eira is undeniably one to stand out, though not in the most positive way one would thing. She is a quirky person, though once one gets to know her, can seem rather strange and queer, especially regarding her social behavior. When interacting with others, she fails to pick up certain cues in conversation, and behaves awkwardly in situations that are either uncomfortable, or are with people she has yet to get to know.

Obsessive ✿ Eira is very loyal to those she has come to trust, and as a result, may reach a point of being unwilling to part from their side. Being a young child in the hostile environment of a video game, and separated from her family, she clings to any bit of light or hope she can find. Unfortunately, this can lead to her becoming overly obsessive of staying at one's side or at a certain place, or even being easily deceived or manipulated by one, should they use this flaw against her. Eira also enjoys certain subjects, and when focused on a particular interest, her talk might consist of nothing but the topic she wants to speak of, which leads to further socially unacceptable behavior.

Lonely ✿ Reserved and quiet by nature, Eira is an introvert and has trouble fitting in with most others. Few have patience for quirky and obsessive children, and this young girl eventually came to realize that fact. As a result, she often distances herself from others semi-consciously, and is extremely distrusting of people at first.
