One tree to the other, one tree to the next, branch to branch... Although Vigilon was definitely seeing a more straightforward manner of movement, this was still a fairly exhausting way to travel, not to mention there's the great heights to fall down below if Vigilon wasn't careful enough. He didn't have very much to break his fall. Luck doesn't stick around forever, however, so of course Vigilon would end up missing one branch, and proceed to fall until he gripped at a hanging vine. This vine was awfully large, however, an in a place like this, that'

Well, with that out of the way and making the area safer for others as well as for Vigilon, it was time to get back to the task at hand. He continued to try and traverse the expanse, but the deeper he got into the jungle, the more difficult the land was to scale. Vigilon took a moment to breathe, then decided to see if he could see anything more than treetops. Well, not necessarily, but after comparing his sights to the map, he at least had a fair idea of where to go next, if that waterfall at a mountain in the distance said anything. Maybe traveling by treetop would make this go faster. All h

Vigilon couldn't help but chuckle as the plant tangled itself up, unable to find out where its enemy was. But by wasting all this energy, time, and effort, some of the traps began withering, falling to the ground as they wasted their natural uses, until only two were left. Both waited a few seconds before advancing towards Vigilon, who simply managed to find enough space to avoid getting caught, and slashed at the traps every time they tried to clamp down. With all the limbs the plant needed to survive having withered or been destroyed by Vigilon, it could no longer sustain itself, and shatter

He kept an eye out everywhere he went, looking for any signs that Peony may be nearby, as he began his search for a river to follow. Not that it was easy, of course, this whole floor was a natural labyrinth. And sometimes keeping an eye out also means noticing a difference between thin foliage that looks oddly suspicious and thicker pairs of giant leaves that look definitely suspicious. Vigilon picked up a stone and threw it at the leaf, no immediate reaction, but it seemed to simply bounce off. Vigilon squinted at the strange leaves, then threw another stone. Same result. "If this is what I t

Vigilon knew that nearly any attack could become overkill at this rate, but what did he have to lose here? Nothing, unless luck decided to screw him over. Vigilon decided to make use of another sword art and finish off his opponent. Vigilon was slowly getting used to facing human opponents, he wasn't expecting to, however. For now, he'd just have to keep on going, keep on searching. Vigilon pulled his map up once again, and thought carefully about the general area. "I should look for a river." He decided. Disappearance, with no evidence of activity? Peony was definitely capture

Vigilon waited for the reaction. The reaction then came as the NPC readied his weapon. "Valus sent you? If he sent a single traveler to try and weaken us, he's gonna learn that he's sorely mistaken!" The NPC's cursor turned red, and the name displayed over the now hostile entity, <<Kabulo Spearman>> Ah, ok, so this was indeed an enemy. Vigilon readied his bone blade and the two fighters clashed. The Kabulo Spearman managed to get a pretty good hit against Vigilon, but Vigilon's sword art would prove to be enough of a retaliation to drop his HP into the

Vigilon decided to get up slowly, and keep his right hand ready to draw his weapon if the person turned out to be hostile. Valus did warn him of some troublemakers, after all. When Vigilon was able to see the person, there were differences between this person and the NPCs of Senimoh. Unless this was a special NPC, there was cause for suspicion here. There was no green cursor, so this wasn't a player either. "Heh...you lost, traveler?" He asked. Vigilon shook his head. "No, and I'm on important business, so if you'll excuse me-" "Hold on there," The NPC interrupted.

Now that Vigilon was able to use Sword Arts again, anything that was too weak of a monster either steered clear of Vigilon or ended up getting one-shot(or two-shot, depending on just how much weaker it was than Vigilon). Chances were, real enemies might simply have better chances of appearing the closer Vigilon gets to getting Peony back to Krycim safely. Vigilon opened up his map. "So, if I'm right here, and the southeast jungle region is over here...than I need to be going this way..." He thought aloud. He was definitely in the southeast jungle expanse, but he wasn't that deep within it, he

Vigilon needed to find a less murky place to clean himself up from the fight. He'd be fine as long as he didn't come across anything nasty. He decided to sneak around in search of cleaner waters, and in an hour he found a nice stream to get the murk out with. After cleaning himself up, he pulled out the materials he'd harvested. He looked to the bones, then to the knife. "I think I know what I can do here..." Vigilon was surprised to find how thick the bones were, it was a wonder this monster was buoyant at all. Despite this, he was able to carefully whittle at the bones using the knife.

Stepping lightly and watching for twigs and puddles near the water where the Dire Gator was, Vigilon slowly approached, but there did come a point where no further steps would remain quiet. "Looks like I'm gonna have to jump. If I can keep myself quiet until I land, I might be able to jump it..." He thought. It was practically a leap of faith, but he managed to land on the monster, striking it with his knife in the process. A dark pink cursor appeared over the monster, its level was under Vigilon's. The Dire Gator Hissed and shook, trying to throw Vigilon off. Vigilon,

As Vigilon set out, the NPC that watched the whole interaction then looked to Valus, the moment the player was out of sight. "Exactly what are your intentions here? I mean no disrespect, it's just that Vigilon is little more than a traveler, why do you choose this method for testing him?" The NPC asked. "Because of the rumors I've been hearing, Arven." Valus answered. "If these whispers are true, then whether or not Vigilon is aware, he must prove himself, as we all must do." Arven began having suspicions. "This...this is about Peony, isn't it?" He questioned. "You always did seem to show grea

Vigilon was now feeling frantic, he wanted to join the search from the south and see if she was alright. He was about to rush off, but Valus called out for him to stop. "Hold, Vigilon!" Vigilon looked back and walked back over. "Sorry, I was kind of getting worried." He apologized. "I understand you feel the same urgency as I do. However, there are two more things you must be aware of." He revealed. "First, i must warn you that after the actions of an ill-mannered traveler, a small uprising was inspired and attempted. While they failed, the traitorous survivors of the uprising le

...What were the NPCs here that heard of Vigilon expecting, exactly? Maybe it was just game logic. The highly immersive NPCs wouldn't understand why most players remain looking mostly the way they did when starting out. Maybe, it just works? Valus was no longer staring Vigilon in the eyes at this point, but his expression and the way he carried himself were still in a way that calls for respect. "Allow me to introduce myself properly. I am Valus Stoneclaw. Of the two hands that work alongside the Chief of Senimoh, I am the right hand." He stated. Vigilon

Vigilon would wander about for about five minutes, noticing all the differences. For starters, the surrounding environment. This area seemed to lean more into overgrowth of simpler plants in the surrounding area rather than lush, blooming flora, not to mention there seemed to be a swamp nearby as well. The NPCs that were within this settlement was a clear contrast to the other side he'd been to as well, for all the NPCs here were male. "Man, I totally missed some things when I was exploring the floors back when I was weaker..." Vigilon thought. He then pulled up his map to see that he'd only e

Vigilon was keeping himself safe under the shade of a building, in a settlement currently unaffected by the ongoing conflict in Floor Five. His little moment of taking a breather was disrupted by the sudden approach of an NPC, and Vigilon nearly jumped in the shock of seeing him there all of a sudden. "I've been looking for you. Got something I'm supposed to deliver, your hands only." The NPC began. Oh thank goodness, it wasn't anyone dangerous, just the courier. Vigilon took a deep breath and sighed in relief. What puzzled Vigilon was how this guy was able to appear on any Floor Vigi

[Clash Of Blades Season 1] Week 4: Kiyabu Hisao vs Vigilon
Vigilon replied to Kindling's topic in Player Vs Player
Kiyabu seemed to be fighting off dark thoughts, then went back to a plan of attack. Vigilon tried and failed to dodge his relentless assault. Of course, he'd gone back to stun tactics...how wonderful, in a scenario where there was something there that was beyond simple explanation. Vigilon managed to keep his head clear as he laid on his back, stunned and only able to view the monstrosity above. Those sanity tablets were doing wonders for him right now, as his mind was making peace with the fact that the material of the creature's flesh was indeterminable, and that it should close itself off t -
Vigilon: First thing to note, be careful if you're planning to go to Floor Five, there's something pretty serious going on in there and I haven't assessed whether or not we can handle it. Second, Feel free to watch some matches in the Clash of Blades Tournament, and don't worry, you don't only have to support me! Astralin: How have I not heard of this already?? That's it, I'm watching your next match! Hope to see you win! Vigilon: I'll do my best, it's been a crazy six weeks so far. Those Thirteen Energy Drinks were a real doozy. Krysta: Thirteen!? Heavens' mercy, how are you still aliv

[Clash Of Blades Season 1] Week 4: Kiyabu Hisao vs Vigilon
Vigilon replied to Kindling's topic in Player Vs Player
Vigilon looked towards his opponent. The sanity tablets seemed to help him keep his head on straight. He could see without feeling like his mind was being invaded, and yet, he could still hear that second voice in his head. [Clash Of Blades Season 1] Week 5: Vigilon v Telrenya
Vigilon replied to Minako's topic in Player Vs Player
-Both players have had their desperation for victory in this battle. What started off as a duel for the two to test themselves had become a struggle to stay afloat in the relentless crashing waves of competition. Telrenya was now feeling more severely than Vigilon was, based on her response to Vigilon and his words. He hoped to encourage Telrenya, as a close match like this one would surely be a sight for the crowd to see, regardless of who wins. In Vigilon's eyes, both had been tested, with neither opponent found wanting. He could only hope the crowd would see the same, for he couldn't read m -
[Clash Of Blades Season 1] Week 5: Vigilon v Telrenya
Vigilon replied to Minako's topic in Player Vs Player
Vigilon got on his feet, only for Telrenya to alert him to her attack, which landed regardless of his attempt to defend. The crowd's noise flared to life as the true climax of the battle began. Vigilon's HP was definitely getting chipped away at, but so was Telrenya's. It was looking really close at this moment. In this battle, which had now truly become a close fight in which both combatants had a lot on the line; a lot to lose. Vigilon took deep breaths, and his focus dipped into the recesses of his mind, and he would find himself soothed by familiar voices deep within -
[Clash Of Blades Season 1] Week 6: Boreas vs Vigilon
Vigilon replied to Kindling's topic in Player Vs Player
Ah yes, Vigilon's luck, or lack thereof, had struck again. Knocked to the ground, paralyzed and bleeding, Vigilon was left at the mercy of his opponent as the floor itself seemed to sizzle and sear him like a rack of ribs at a barbeque. Vigilon simply stared at his opponent. One slip might cause one's downfall, but it might not either. There was always time for a miraculous comeback. He might not have one in words at the moment, but he was definitely thinking up a few strategies on the fly since he knew very well he couldn't move in this state. "I'm not the only thing that's cookin', -
[Clash Of Blades Season 1] Week 4: Kiyabu Hisao vs Vigilon
Vigilon replied to Kindling's topic in Player Vs Player
Oh sure, just leave the other player to suffer at the tendrils of whatever in oblivion was terrorizing him, that's cool and sportsmanlike in a situation like this. "I'm freaking stunned, you could have at least pulled me out and stabbed me after!" Vigilon thought. Well, at least it wasn't Vigilon's good shoulder that was damaged, but the bad news remained that Vigilon was gonna have to contend with the appendages himself, and speaking of which, more appendages came over for the freshly damaged shoulder. "Damn it, what do they want with me?" His thoughts questioned before the stun wore off. The -
[Clash Of Blades Season 1] Week 5: Vigilon v Telrenya
Vigilon replied to Minako's topic in Player Vs Player
This all started with a willingness to test oneself. He didn't think this tournament would become so wide, so known, so populated, to the point where it just wasn't a simple set of duels anymore, and now there was a multitude of witnesses to the whole event. One little slip could cost Vigilon everything...and he could only hope that what happened next wouldn't ruin him forever. Vigilon nodded his head in agreement when Telrenya noted that the two players succeeded in putting on a show, regardless of the result. "Agreed." He stated. Well, what was needed now was a good finish -
[Clash Of Blades Season 1] Week 6: Boreas vs Vigilon
Vigilon replied to Kindling's topic in Player Vs Player
Vigilon's hyper focus in this battle managed to help him notice the timing required to dodge his opponent's charge attack. "Predictable!" He remarked, followed by a chuckle. He then prepared himself to attack again. Boreas took evasive action, leaving Vigilon to chase after his opponent for almost half a minute, slowly gaining, and gaining, and gaining on him further. Realistically, one would suggest that Vigilon should be taking damage over what his heart's current BPM might be, but this was Sword Art Online and thus regardless of what the avatar went through, who was to say his real self's h
