  2.                                First the fact that Vigilon had to eat at the arena itself, that was already an issue...but it looks like Vigilon was also the only one who consumed his portions mindfully, because the others had left a huge mess on the floor that made up some kind of psuedo-mud as a mixture...and this was inside a cathedral, of all places! The players were already likely to get kicked out for Holy Site desecration! Clean up on aisle three before it's too late! Oh wait, the fight's already in progress, it was already too late. Vigilon had a feeling Krysta, who was likely watching this right now, was probably disgruntled over this whole situation even more than Vigilon himself.

Oh, but then came Morningstar's retaliation against Vigilon's failed attempt to attack. Ouch, right in the back, and to add insult to injury, he was paralyzed and ended up falling helplessly limp onto the layer of mess on the ground. Maybe Plan A wouldn't be as easy to execute as anticipated.

  3.                                               Vigilon remained where he was behind the opening that led to the arena. No time like the present to deal with those feasts before going into battle. How these feasts were able to be brought into the inventory as other feasts could like it was some kind of to-go feature was honestly beyond Vigilon, but the arena was no place to consume anything. ...Wait, why weren't the feasts pulled out yet? Vigilon was ready to whip out the sushi platter...how was he gonna deal with this?

It would seem that this entire situation had been unprecedented. First it was the fact that Vigilon would be facing Hirru for the second time in a row, then it was the fact that he was paired with the guy who put on quite a, ahem, show in that last battle the previous week, as his tag team partner for this week. Vigilon knew nothing about the guy, and the more Vigilon learned of this week's theme, the more he realized that he'd need to pull off something particularly amazing for Krysta. Why? Because she's his girlfriend and should be given some gosh darn respect in this season, that's why! Oh, and on top of that, it looks like the scenario was already unfolding further, and looking to be more unhinged than ever.
The players' names were called for them to enter the ring, and for some damn reason everyone except Vigilon seemed to think it was a good idea to eat in the damn arena.
"What the hell is wrong with you people??" Vigilon thought as his expression came near to the state of cringe he was feeling from the secondhand embarrassment here, and Oscar turned out to be the worst offender in this particular case. Not a very good first impression in Vigilon's eyes. Did the thought of handling the feasts before entering the ring not cross their minds, or did they just not give a damn? Disgruntled, Vigilon would pull out the sushi platter and hastily set it on the table as he began considering how the hell he was going to cleanly inhale all this before the fight. It was bad enough that he was going to have to put up with this without looking stupid, too. Furthermore, going to the lengths of bringing the candelabra and lighting it was kinda over the top and a waste of now precious time in this awkward scenario...and if there was one thing Vigilon knew, it's that Krysta was gonna be watching this for certain, was probably already here, judging whomever ended up having the poorest manners in this moment. Vigilon had only a few words to say. "Seriously? this couldn't have been done earlier? Before needing to step into the arena?" He asked, but for now, it was best to leave it at that. It was just a simple question. He had no strong opinions for a stranger but what he'd seen so far seemed to suggest that Vigilon had his work cut out for him in this battle that was about to start.

There were several things to handle in such a short time. Question one, could Vigilon make it through this battle without cringing further? Probably not, but at least he'd have the stats to survive the battle itself. Two, quickly inhale the three feast portions. That wasn't a question, but Vigilon aimed to do it anyway. To be fair, however, It was mainly quick for the milkshake and the sushi, the feast of spaghetti and meatballs was undoubtedly the toughest to deal with for his goal of doing this quickly and cleanly. He actually ended up slowing down for that one. Had to stay presentable...and no, it wasn't just for Krysta's sake. In all honesty, Vigilon had his doubts he'd be able to pull a feat like this again in his life, regardless of if it was in-game or out of game(assuming Vigilon and the players succeed in their ultimate goal). He let out a long exhale after he'd finished, and hoped that game logic would prevent him from being sluggish in this fight.

By the looks of things, the table that was still set up, Candelabra and all, might as well serve as an arena obstacle at this point. If anything, Vigilon could at least feel confident that if all things went according to plan, this tag team fight would be in the bag. "Alright, any setbacks aside, let's make this fight worth it, shall we?" He commented.
Vigilon made his way to the corner he was directed to by the Hostess, drew Kyrkuran, then waited for the signal to start. Upon the signal to go, he made a beeline towards Morningstar...but it's as if this was expected, he didn't even manage to get close when he tried to use his sword art.
"Did I mess up on my approach, or did he actually see this coming?" He thought. The only thing worse than a moving target, was a speedy moving target.

  4.                               Vigilon made his way over to the seating after his match. He knew where to go, he simply had to look for the two familiars, Kriana and Yolviinsil. He looked to see a bit of white and a bit of red in the distance, that was probably them. He approached the two familiars. "Hey, either of you seen Krysta?" He asked. The look on Kriana's face seemed to suggest she'd been gone for a short moment. "She go off to get snacks or something? Fair enough." Vigilon remarked. He then pulled out a strip of boar bacon from his inventory, no, two of them, actually. One for each of them. "Just in case Krysta doesn't find anything for you two." He noted. The two small dragons grabbed their pieces and found a good spot to lay down while munching on them.

Before long, Krysta returned, but was surprised at the fact that Vigilon was here. She asked him why he was here at the seating, noting that she thought he'd only be competing and not watching. "While it's true that I initially considered not watching to keep the element of surprise and a completely fair fight, I realized, if I did that, I'd miss out on being able to watch this with you." He answered with a soft smile. He then patted the spot where he had a feeling she had been sitting earlier, a gesture offering for her to come over and sit next to him.

  5.                                        The battle was over sooner than expected.
Hirru had conceded. Seeing that the green haired tank's HP was but a sliver of red, it made perfect sense. The opponent offered a hand to help Vigilon back up, which he accepted. Hirru may have gotten the last hit, but it seems that the effects of being damaged by Kyrkuran had pushed the tank to his limits. Victory had gone to Vigilon this time.

"Same to you. While you still took the damage, you took it like a champ and stood your ground. Not everyone's willing to do such a thing." He complimented. He sheathed his own weapon, then noticed someone in the audience as the Host declared Vigilon the winner. Vigilon looked back to Hirru. "You know...if you happen to be the type of person to consider scenarios for when facing certain opponents, there's a goldmine's wealth of opportunity right before us, seeing that we were the first match of the day and all." He remarked. "I suppose I'll be seeing you next week, maybe not as an opponent on the battlefield, maybe?" He added with a grin.

  6.                       Hirru acknowledged Vigilon's point. When facing common mobs, you can more easily expect them to go for the front, but players and more intelligent NPC enemies may choose to go for the back that's wide open, as Vigilon had just done. Problem was, the sandbag treatment that this battle had been so far resulted in Vigilon unwittingly letting his guard down. When his opponent made a quick change, Vigilon could only assume there was a fancy trick in play. ...Then came the Low Sweep...followed by slamming Vigilon into the ground. It all happened faster than anticipated.

Hirru then made his own point to Vigilon. Yeah, that checks out. "Nice argument, acknowledged, too." He said out loud. "Unfortunately, unless the host calls the fight here, there'll be hell to pay when I can get back up again." He thought to himself, as thought he was speaking to Hirru, which he wasn't, so it would remain unheard.

  7.                                                        Just a little more...

Hirru seemed to be all for getting beaten down, and Vigilon didn't really understand why.  Hirru seemed to make a comment on Vigilon's weapon, whatever it was about. "Oh, this?" He asked, gesturing to his sword. "Uh, yeah, I daresay Kyrkuran here packs quite a punch, it's a bit of an odd and long story how I got it, and equally strange was how I was told it rejected everyone else who tried to pick it up and buy it or something. It's been a big help to me, though." Vigilon explained, taking a quick moment to glace to his weapon. An eye opened on the hilt, within sight of both combatants(and the host, if he was paying attention to this fight). "Someday...someday I'll get used to it sometimes staring at me like that..." He thought.

Hirru positioned himself to increase his defenses. It seemed he was readying himself to block an attack. He then invited Vigilon to try and finish it here, if he could. "Asking me to go all out, are you?" He remarked. "Alright, fair enough. Suit yourself..." Vigilon took position. "FYI, if anything goes overboard, know that you're the one who asked for it."

Vigilon readied his weapon, and took a deep breath as his weapon began to glow both a deep violet and a burning red, laced with traces of dark energy. "Kyrkuran, zyn gre zhal xe shiul vyeil natho!" He spoke. Upon this, he felt a deep shadow within both himself and his weapon. The sword practically roared to life with a billowing dragonfire that cloaked the entire blade, and Vigilon began his advance. "HyyyaaaaaaaaaAAAAAARGHHH!!!"
Vigilon kept up his quickened pace, and at nearly the last moment he swiftly leaped over his opponent, performing a 180 turn in midair, and starting his attack with a horizontal slash from behind. He quickly followed up with a flurry of attacks from multiple angles, nearly moving like a blur, and from his sword would erupt a burst of flame and dark energy upon the last strike's impact.
With the attack barrage completed, Vigilon scratched the back of his neck with his free hand.
"Heh...maybe next time you could try following your opponent's moves? Not like I know how your skill works or anything, but while your front was guarded, your back was wide open." He pointed out with a grin.

  8.                                            Vigilon had already dealt enough damage for this tank to be near the yellow. Was he just Lucky, or was he actually strong enough to put a dent in this guy? Maybe it was Kyrkuran, that weapon made one heck of a difference. Regardless, the green haired opponent was now disarmed and temporarily helpless. For whatever reason, the guy just smiled and congratulated Vigilon for taking the correct course of action. Well, in that case he better make use of this window of opportunity while he still had it.

"I mean, if that's what you really want, then." He said with a shrug and a grin, just before flames cloaked his sword. He would then go in for another attack before his opponent could get back on his feet...and the helpless state Hirru was in left him wide open, including any weak spots above the belt. With his blade burning at the heat of a dragon's flame, Vigilon made three rapid strikes against his opponent, and to add further injury, Kyrkuran scorched Hirru, leaving him to deal with a fell, hellish blaze on his avatar.

Vigilon was absolutely winning so far, but he nearly felt sorry for his opponent that he was effectively drilling and giving the sandbag treatment.

  9.                       A ruin usually wouldn't be considered a good spot for a dueling tournament. Usually such happenings on Floor One would normally be seen in Tolbana. What went different in the planning? Someone else rent out the Tolbana Arena or something? ...Well, not that Tolbana had an official arena, per se. Well, he'd come here to test his mettle as a fighter, and the first step could easily win or lose the whole thing, so he'd better do this right. He looked down to make sure his equipment was in shape, then looked to his currently sheathed personal weapon, Kyrkuran. It would be seeing a lot of action today. Hopefully it wouldn't get a taste for Player HP. After all, Vigilon was starting to notice signs that the weapon may or may not have some form of intelligence...not that it could speak, it was definitely silent as the grave. The Announcements for Vigilon's coming fight had arrived, so Vigilon took a deep breath and readied himself to step into the ring.

Were there rumors going on about Vigilon? He definitely wasn't expecting the description given. The announcer was half-right, at least. Vigilon never acted like he was a Dragon or anything, but he definitely sought to help others and get into some heroic acts if they were possible. Well, it was now or never, time to enter. He drew his blade and walked into the ring, both the crowd and his opponent were waiting.

          Vigilon's first opponent...Hirru.
The guy saved his unfortunate ass when he misjudged a jump over in a catastrophe in Floor Twenty Six. Luckily, there wasn't anything to fall down from or need to climb up in this arena. Hirru remarked that he wouldn't be healing Vigilon this time, and hoped that he came prepared. Vigilon smirked.
"Completely understand. This is Competitive PvP, not making any preparations may as well be suicide in some cases." He began. He took slow steps around the arena for about one and a third of a meter, they may as well have been carefully placed. "After all, you've gotta be able to anticipate what your opponent might do...and sometimes you've just gotta- THINK FAST!"
Vigilon dashed rapidly as he finished his words, his weapon in hand, unleashing his Sword Art upon his opponent in a split second, his Charge and Kyrkuran's burst of Fallen Energy causing the attack to have a great impact.
Vigilon then met eyes with his now Stunned opponent.
"So, how's that for a First Impression?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

  10.                         "Are you sure?" Vigilon asked. "I don't think you should be suffering alone." He pointed out. "I didn't come here because you're 'weak', I came here because I'm your cousin, and I don't think you deserve to be suffering. Regardless if its friends, or family, when someone is in their time of need, the best thing we can do is show up for them. That's what we do, and that's why I'm here right now." He explained softly. Dazia's persistence continued. At this point, he'd have to respect her choice. "...I see, you still need some time." He noted. "I hope you find your new family soon." He said, as a statement of wishing her well.

With that, he left, and returned to the inn. He knocked on the door to the room Shanno and Seline were in. When he was granted entry, Shanno asked, "Is there something you need? ...Are...are you alright?"
Vigilon took a deep breath. He nodded his head, but he wasn't feeling happy. He hadn't given up hope, however. "Yeah, I just...have a question..." He began.

"Have you considered asking Dazia to join the Sky Swords?"

  11.            Vigilon waited.

He simply kept his eyes closed, his heart feeling sympathy for the girl.

What if she wasn't all that people thought she was? What if she wasn't like this from the start? Maybe, in the end, all this time, she was simply suffering; broken?

As Dazia's cries began to quiet down, Vigilon opened his eyes, and slowly made his way over to where Dazia was hiding herself. "Violet...you can come out now." He began. Nearly everything involving Dazia and emotion was a risk...but this was a risk worth taking, she shouldn't be suffering like this alone. "You don't have to be alone."

Was this a dumb decision? Probably. Would this be worth it? Possibly. Was it the right thing to do? Absolutely. He proceeded to pull the cover away from Dazia, revealing her curled up state, shrunk into a ball on her side, and holding onto herself tightly. Vigilon's guess was correct. She was definitely hurting.

  12.                       Vigilon continued his search, hoping Dazia was close by. He couldn't let her disappear now. He practically ran around the town looking for her, looking through nearly every darkened space he could find.

Soon, he was hearing sounds, and his heightened senses from his searching skill confirmed, this wasn't background noise by something of the environment, this was a person. As he got closer to the source of the sound, he recognized it as Dazia's voice, but in a tone he'd never heard before...

Dazia...was crying. What had she gone through that would provoke an emotional moment like this by the thought of family being put back together? Did she...did she wish to have a found family like the Sky Swords?

Vigilon kept himself to the wall out of her sight for a moment, so she could let it all out. He wouldn't step in until she'd released enough of that emotion to start settling down.

  13.             Dazia explained what she knew of Seline, and of the Sky Swords Guild. At one point, her breath began to shake, and she pulled her cowl over her head before suddenly taking off. Given the kinds of words she'd said, she must have hit one of her own weak points with what she brought up...but scenarios like these were never meant to be dealt with alone.

Vigilon quickly followed Dazia's trail, though it seemed that she'd already disappeared. He kept his eyes open and heightened his senses. There didn't seem to be any noticeable traces of Dazia as of the moment, not even a footprint. Vigilon looked to his left, then to his right. "Violet!" He called out. "Violet, where are you?"

His voice held both seriousness and concern. Whatever she was going through, she shouldn't have to go through it alone. She was his cousin; family...so if there was still hope for her and she was in need, his best option was to help out, right?

    ID# 231127 LD: 9+6=15(Could not find Dazia)

  14.                              The reunion between Shanno and Seline was warming to see. They must have really cared about each other. Dazia revealed the situation, and that Seline also had Vigilon to thank. Seline then moved in to hug Vigilon and thank him for his help. Vigilon was not expecting a full on hug, but perhaps it was just the emotions of the moment. He normally didn't get hugged like this, except maybe by his mother way back when, before everyone got trapped in this game. "Happy to help..." Vigilon responded.

Seline was taller than Vigilon expected. He already knew she was taller than Dazia, but she was definitely taller than Vigilon, too. If Vigilon was to guess, Seline seemed to be about five foot ten in height. Vigilon didn't have very much else to note about at the moment, so he just waited for Seline to finish.

With the reunion finished, it was time to leave, and let Seline and Shanno compare experiences.

After leaving the inn where Seline was staying, Vigilon looked to Dazia. "Is Seline...normally like that?" He asked. "Just curious."

  15.            Just because the three players were now out of the citadel did not mean it was time to stop running. He wanted to make sure he was out of sight from the citadel, and that meant traversing the outer courtyard and past its overgrown gates, before passing through the foliage that kept the location hidden.

Only then did Vigilon slow to a stop, as to catch his breath. "Thank God that's over..." He thought aloud. He looked to the two girls with him. "Are you two alright?" He asked.
         Shanno nodded her head.
"Alright, let's head back to Coral." Vigilon decided.

Vigilon mainly referred to his map for picking directions to go. This deeper, dark part of the forest was easy to get lost in for the ill-prepared, or those with a poor sense of direction. It took a bit of time, but soon the forest of memory proper was within sight, which was arguably much easier to traverse.

  16.                  If even Dazia knew to be wary, then this was definitely a dangerous situation. She continued to look each player in the eye, before seemingly settling her gaze onto Vigilon. "Ah, but you have done us a favor, have you not? I do believe you should be rewarded, if you are willing to accept..."

Vigilon wasn't sure about this. First, Ophelia looked to Shanno. "For you, I can offer a special piece from my armory." She stated, as a weapon appeared in her hand, and she handed it to Shanno. "It carries power from the energies of our clan. Take it, and you will wield the power to decimate legions that dare oppose you."
Shanno had a choice to make. Lucky for her, her choice was an easy one. "...I accept your gift. Thank you..." She said nervously. Taking the weapon, it would change its form into a polearm fit for Shanno to use.

Ophelia then looked to Dazia. "As for you, I can offer you this ring. It should prove useful for someone of your...particular talents, I presume." She said, as she pulled out a dark metal ring with a dark red ruby. "This ring senses the search for blood. Take it, and you will surely find those who may have an opportunity for you." She explained.

Once Dazia had made her response, regardless of whether she would accept or reject, Ophelia would move on to Vigilon. "And you..."

Ophelia's smile opened up, revealing canines too long and sharp to be canines- wait, those were fangs...
        Ophelia was a Vampire.

"I offer you...kinship. I offer the power within my blood." She began. "Receive my gift to you, and you will walk as a lion among sheep. Your enemies will tremble at your approach, and you will never need to fear death again." She explained as she slowly advanced towards him. Vigilon had to be careful about how he would go around this. "And what if I refuse your gift?" He asked.
Ophelia's advance slowed. It was clear she did not anticipate the possibility of Vigilon's refusal.
"I suppose I could come up with an alternative, if you were to refuse..." She noted, looking disappointed. "Are you refusing?"
Vigilon slowly nodded his head. "Sorry...I just wouldn't feel right as a Vampire. I'd prefer to be my own person. I'm content with remaining a human." He responded.
There was no mistaking the Ebony Queen's disappointment in this moment, but at least she wasn't angered.
    "I see..."

Ophelia raised her hand and began to channel some kind of power with it, and some kind of object looking similar, but not exactly like a chess piece, made from obsidian, appeared in her hand, and a non-crystal-caused corridor opened up, in which a Dark haired woman with deep red eyes walked out. Ophelia looked to the newcomer girl. "Neferata," she began. "You openly said you were dissatisfied with us, did you not? Tell me, do you believe this one here can make a good enough impression on you?" She asked.
The girl, Neferata, would walk over to Vigilon, and would slowly walk around him as if examining him. She would then grasp Vigilon by his shoulders and stare into his eyes. Vigilon simply looked into her eyes back, but not in the way she did. For Vigilon, this was more on the awkward side. Neferata let go and walked over to Ophelia, taking the object and bringing it to Vigilon.
"So Ophelia thinks we can be of use to each other." Neferata began. "With this, whether it be in your time of need or when you think the time is right, you can use it to summon me." She then leaned in to whisper into Vigilon's ear. "And for the record, It would free me from my binding to this place, so I would appreciate it." She then walked back into the corridor portal and disappeared. Ophelia looked back to Vigilon. "If she fails you when you need her, or if you reconsider the gift...my offer will still stand, if you're willing. Besides, I'm sure I can take far better care of you than she could, if you decided to stay here." She added. Vigilon blinked. The intentions with Ophelia's offer of Vampirism was becoming clear to Vigilon.

                    Nope!
Vigilon looked to an imaginary watch on his wrist. "Hoo, boy, look at the time, we gotta go!" Vigilon remarked as he was visibly sweating as his face reddened. He took Dazia and Shanno by their arms and was ready to dash off. "Do come back..." Ophelia hoped.
Vigilon ran at top speed with Dazia and Shanno in tow, and the Ebony Clan's forces did not hinder the players further. As the exit was in sight, Vigilon saw Ebony Pawns and Ivory Pawns clashing against each other in battle. At least there was room to reach the exit.

  17.           Vigilon kept his eyes open for anything, but kept looking back to Shanno, hoping that she was alright and that she was keeping up with Vigilon. Dazia had rushed off, so Vigilon and Shanno had to move quickly to try and catch up with her. Shanno began having trouble keeping up, so Vigilon offered his arm to grab so she could easily keep up with him.

The only time she let go was when they caught up with Dazia, which was also at the moment the three players nearly ran into more monsters. Ebony Clan monsters, by the looks of it. Two knights, an one that looked like an Ebony Rook. The monsters readied themselves for battle, but then a voice interrupted what was almost a fight.

"Hold now, just a moment, little ones..."

Vigilon saw a tall woman enter the scene. Something definitely wasn't right about her, but she had either the appearance, aura, or even both, that could easily draw people into a false sense of security, but the last thing Vigilon wanted right now was to take actions he'd regret.

Vigilon looked to this woman as she entered his field of vision, an air of elegance in her step...and a bad hunger in her eyes. The name above this entity displayed...

    <<Ophelia, The Ebony Queen>>

Vigilon's heart was racing, he didn't know if it was out of fear, or...something else. Who knows, could be fear and something else. He tried to hide whatever this feeling may be, but he ultimately failed, judging by the woman's expression towards Vigilon. Regardless, this woman must be as the nametag revealed, the Queen of the Ebony Clan.
Ophelia looked to the three players, taking several seconds looking into the eyes of each one.
"New faces here in the Citadel, and the one who had kept us sealed away is now finally gone...stay your weapons, we actually have them to thank for our freedom." She said to her subordinates.

  18.                Vigilon stood there as Dazia took the opportunity he'd given her. Well, now that was three gone, just have to finish up that last one that Dazia sent flying earlier. Vigilon readied his blade as he made his way over. "Alright, you know how this ends and so do I, so let's just make this quick."
He activated his sword art, finishing off the last opponent in the fight. He took a deep breath, then looked over to Dazia. "You feeling ok, Dazia?" He asked. After whatever response he'd get from her, he'd then look over to the player they were in the middle of rescuing. "Are you alright, Shanno? We didn't scare you or anything, did we?" He asked. Shanno silently shook her head, but the response didn't seem to match her eyes.

As concerning as Vigilon found Shanno's response to be, he decided to respect that and return to the escape portion of the rescue mission. "Right, let's get back to getting out of here before the place is swarming with monsters." He suggested.

  19.               Vigilon watched as Dazia tore into the enemy's ranks the way she usually does, practically tearing them up with unbound yet silent fury...accept two pawns were spared of this, as one dodged the attack while the rook got in the way of the other. Its HP was in the yellow now, so it seemed like the best thing he could do was just keep whaling at the enemy forces and go for another sword art.

Using the same as the last time, he put a lot of force into his next attack. It mattered little that the rook got in the way, as the attack was not only stronger, but paralyzed the rook, rendering it immobile, unable to get in the players' way further for a bit. The rook's HP was now in the red, things were looking up for the players now. "Dazia, it's paralyzed, now's your chance!" He called out.

  20.                Dazia took a strategic advance to put the shoving match in her favor, then she mercilessly tore the monster apart, its death throes were slower than the other monsters killed this day.
Well, uh, with that out of the way, time to return to the escape! Vigilon would choose to go on ahead and let Dazia and Shanno follow beside each other. Rescuing Shanno was Dazia's mission, after all, and he decided to do his part to make sure the coast was clear.

Vigilon quite literally ran into a monster. He fell right onto his rear on the ground after his face met metal. Vigilon shook his head and looked at what stood before him. Three Pawns, this time white in color, with Sapphires where their eyes should be, and a great big knight with heavy armor patterned like a brick wall, wielding a heavy axe in one hand, and a hefty towering kite shield of solid white metal in the other. Where its head should be, was the top of a rook piece, with sapphires where the eyes ought to be. Well, now he knew what the rooks looked like...and he knew what he needed to do next, with how the monsters were glaring at him.
Vigilon activated his sword art, but what he wasn't expecting was for the rook to get in his way twice when he was trying to deal with the pawns. Vigilon damaged one pawn, but the rook took two of his hits, alongside the sword art's attack against it.
"...What the hell...?" Vigilon thought aloud. What just happened?

  22.                                        Morningstar shared some thoughts to Freyd, who proceeded to groan into his cowl before admitting that he had the tracking skill the whole damn time. Vigilon considered remarking, "And you didn't think to tell us when Krysta asked?", but, well, better late then never, so
Vigilon decided to try and overlook this for now. Freyd asked what the endgoal was for what the party was now doing.
"I mean, Krysta's calling the shots here, but if they really planned on creating an ambush made entirely of potentially dangerous monsters like Morningstar theorized, it would be a problem if they were to have the frontlines overrun. Sure, there's a chance we could make it out of the mess alive, but I'm pretty sure there are quite a few in the front who wouldn't want to take any chances." Vigilon noted. "That being said, if it were up to me, I'd try to at least increase our odds by taking out as many of the monsters as possible, weaken their captured garrisons until the plan proves ineffective." He thought aloud. "After all, they'd be much weaker individually than they would be in a large mass of a swarm."

Freyd would reveal the current distance and direction of the tracked player, then suggest to unleash the captured monsters onto the Cinnabar goons instead. "...No offense Freyd, but as you've probably noticed, not all of us are stealthy enough to pull it off." Vigilon remarked. The excuse he decided not to say, however, was that as long as the party didn't get overwhelmed, it might prove to be a mild grinding opportunity, get an extra paragon or two before the raid if at all possible. Any experience is better than no experience, and the same would go for col, for those in need. Seeing that the Cinnabar Goons wasted their chances for experience or loot in attempt to pull off a cruel plot, Vigilon thought it might be neat to reap the benefits of fighting the monsters off a little at a time, while adding insult to injury against the opposing Guild simultaneously.

Soon, Vigilon could faintly hear a voice in the distance, so he positioned both his hand and his ear as to hear more clearly. "I'm sure of it. What happens, happens. Just...be ready, you dimwit."
                             Alvion.
The faint sound of footsteps was briefly heard, which probably meant that he wasn't there anymore...but could the same be said for whoever he might have been talking to?
"Well Krysta," Vigilon began. "Let's see if your preferred attempt will work first."

With that, he made his way over towards the source of sound, finding two more Cinnabar Players, each working with one stone box. "Up to anything in particular?" He asked. The two Cinnabar goons flinched and then looked to see Vigilon. "None of your concern." The first goon shot back. Vigilon's expression became a deadpan. "Of course, what else could I expect...from someone so obviously trying to hide something, like...oh, I dunno...whatever it is you call 'Operation Pompeii', perhaps?" Vigilon remarked. Both Cinnabar players looked ready to start sweating buckets. "He uh, from that party the other guy was talking about? The same one that we were messaged a warning about? Whaddo we do?" Spoke the second goon softly, to the first. "Did you not hear the details? You should know what to do by now." Claimed the first Cinnabar Player. Said Cinnabar player would then facepalm as the second Cinnabar goon would pull a paper out of his inventory. "Well uh... 'If confirmed resistance is encountered, be prepared to retaliate against hostile force if necessary'." He read aloud.
Regardless if the other party members were with Vigilon by now or not, Vigilon would near-quietly remark,
"You know you're sending the wrong guy when he has to bring paper instructions he'll read out loud..."
The second Cinnabar Goon would then look to his distraught ally. "Well, I dunno, maybe we could let the mobs do it, I don't feel like getting an orange cursor." Very clearly agitated, the first Cinnabar player would proceed to have an outburst. "That's not even what it meant! That's not even the current situation! I don't even know why you were let into this operation in the first place!!" The player stopped, then looked to the party of frontliner players. "Uhhh, ignore the dummy beside me, he doesn't know what he's doing, and he's definitely not gonna release the-"
"Oops, already done, let's go." The second goon interrupted, holding both of the boxes' lock rods in his hands. The first goon's face went pale. "Damn it, you weren't supposed to do that! Now we've got two less for the operation! Just- ugh, come on, you damn idiot, let's get out of here before we become targets!" He burst out, before grabbing the second goon by his armor and dragging him away, as the second goon had nothing else for the party but an emotionless expression and a hand up in a rude gesture.

Vigilon blinked. "Well...that happened." As if on cue, the two stone boxes burst open, revealing the two Fire Elementals that were trapped inside. One appearing as a large serpent, the other appearing like a lion. Both set their sights on the party of players in front of them, and their cursors turned red. Vigilon sighed. "Here we go."
So much for trying to settle this the easy way...well, now onto grinding while foiling plans. Vigilon drew his sword, and tore into both Elementals. However, these two seemed to suffer less of a drop in their HP as the first encounter's Elemental did... "Looks like these might be a little stronger, keep your eyes open!" He added.

  23.                  Vigilon blinked, then checked his skill list while Freyd did absolutely nothing. "...I don't have tracking." Vigilon realized. "I've got Night Vision, I've got Detect, but I don't have Tracking."

Alas, it looked like the party would be going in blind. "Let's try going along the path we were going earlier, see if any of the other Cinnabar goons are dumb enough to cross the path where we can find them." He suggested, wondering if there were any other Operation Pompeii operatives who had the same thought process as the two idiots from earlier, as they might have another captured monster for the players to take out. After all, if they did turn out to be dangerous enough to be a threat in great numbers, taking them out while they were still separated would be the best way to diffuse the plot, in Vigilon's opinion. In the end, he could only hope.

  24.                                Vigilon thought for a minute, considering Morningstar's theory. The monster they fought was surprisingly easy to take down, but it was alone... A whole onslaught of them might prove to be a mild threat if everyone ran out of energy with little to no way to recover it. Vigilon knew little of the actual number of monsters they'd captured, and they were only able to tell the strength of one so far.

Then Freyd spoke. It was as if things started to go downhill from here. He spoke down to Krysta, breaking down her claims and placing higher urgency on what he believed to be a priority. It was definitely a priority, but if this was truly a threat to the Frontlines, that priority mattered little if the raid team suffered any losses from an ambush. Vigilon didn't appreciate the way Freyd spoke to her and threw her opinions to the dirt, but reason and a need for unity in such dangerously high floors like this was at least enough to give Vigilon the wariness and clarity to keep him from seeing red, though his brows furrowed as he was ready to glare daggers. As for Freyd throwing Vigilon under the bus for the floor six incident, yeah, Vigilon may have deserved that, as he pretty much did the same thing to Freyd. Trying to dismiss the whole rant in his mind with the thought of "Maybe he's just in a mood.", he'd keep his calm for the time being and try a different approach than the one that tempted him. "Freyd, I mean no offense, but that came across as a bit...toxic." He noted.

"Toxic would be an understatement." Spoke an unidentified voice. Vigilon turned around and darted his gaze around the surrounding area. "Who's there?" Vigilon demanded. A player came into view, calmly and at a normal pace. Judging by the similarities to the armors he'd seen before, the Light Armor this player wore seemed to show that he was aligned with the Knights of Cinnabar. Oddly enough, his cursor was, once again, green. "Forgive me for both the interruption and the eavesdropping, I'd only heard just heard about a disruption to something of importance to us, so I wanted to know what all the fuss was about." The player explained. Vigilon did not lower his weapon. "Yeah, well you couldn't have picked a worse time to hatch your little scheme, 'cause now we're onto you." He responded.
The Cinnabar Player let out a soft exhale. He was definitely more calm and collected than his peers.
"Are you, now?" He asked. "I guess you must be hearing things differently, as...the 'veteran' in your little raid party, he wants nothing to do with this, does he?" He pointed out. "It's true that we Knights of Cinnabar aren't exactly on good terms with the Frontlines...and the reason why..." He began, before pointing directly at Freyd. "Is because of Selfish Punks like him."
Vigilon was ready to dismiss the thought immediately, but he'd let the player speak out his words, that they might either fall on deaf ears, or reveal more about what the Knights of Cinnabar were planning. He'd look to Krysta, as he must have been able to identify her easily from his eavesdropping, as well as the fact that she was the only female in the party. "You believed that the innocent and your allies were in danger, and you wanted to save them, which is a truly noble thing to do. However, it seems you weren't aware of the true nature of the Frontliners, and I don't blame you for that. As you've now witnessed, your hopes to protect the innocent were cast aside, you, your hopes and your morals were all treated like little more than garbage. He might believe it to be his reality, but it seems that his only concern is what he finds to be of any importance. If it's not approved by him, it doesn't deserve any attention, if it's not what he wants to do, he'll abandon you. If he wants something, he'll get it, even if he must tear through legions of others to get it. He doesn't care about you, he doesn't care about the same people you care about...his only concern is himself."
Vigilon was ready to dismiss his words as nothing more than an attempt to plant seeds of doubt. Vigilon was going to need more evidence than that. Of course, the player wasn't done yet. "We once thought the frontlines were worth putting any hope in, until we learned what they truly are...Selfish power mongers who fight for themselves and themselves only. Do they fight for freedom? Of course they do, but they don't fight for your freedom, they fight for theirs. They'll pretend to be your friend, but if it benefits them they'll throw you aside for an item or for power, for influence or some form of personal gain. I once even heard from a stealth player that there were Frontliners who suffered heavy losses, but wanted to play it off as a perfect victory, just to increase their numbers, potentially sending many of the unprepared to their deaths...ah, but they'd be nothing more than necessary sacrifice at that point, now wouldn't they?" The Cinnabar Player continued.

"Blah, blah, blah...." Vigilon thought. "When's this guy gonna spout anything that reveals what he's planning, instead of going on about how corrupt he claims the frontlines are...? ...Wait..." Stealth player... Suffered heavy losses...played off as a perfect victory...he'd heard this claim only once before...The Fallen incident on Floor 13... "Dazia..."
She'd gone and started a whole damn rumor. "Whoa whoa whoa, stop right there pal, are you saying that Dazia went and blabbed about the Frontliners' end of the Fallen Angel incident to all of Aincrad?" Vigilon blurted out, just before remembering exactly which players were around him. Oops.
The Cinnabar Player's eyes lit up.
"You know her? You know of what happened?" He asked Vigilon. No escaping the truth now. "Yeah...and I do know, I was there...sort of." Vigilon began. "There were two raids going on simultaneously. One for the Frontline Tier, another for the lesser two tiers. Krysta, Dazia and I were in the lesser Tier battle. Dazia ended up in a tight spot and fled through a teleport Crystal, but ended up getting stuck in the Courtyard that served as the 'lobby' of both raids instead. Players who 'died' would also wind up there. It was like we the player base were all being tested, and given a taste of what was to come. Krysta and I didn't exactly witness what Dazia spoke of, so I've kinda been taking the news of what she told me with some salt." He explained. The Cinnabar Player appeared to be intrigued. "So then...after all that, you still chose to join the Frontlines for the upcoming Raid. Why?" He asked. Vigilon shrugged. "Well, we all gotta get out of here, I hoped I was strong enough...plus, it's been a long time after that incident, so maybe the frontlines would be different than what Dazia had seen. Sure looked different enough to me back at the raid meeting." He answered.
The Cinnabar Player was seeming to be more well mannered than his peers, despite his point of view.
"Ah, good point and a fair argument," He remarked. "But how do you know for sure that they are truly different than the group before? How do you know that they are any better? Do you know any of them? If so, how many?" He asked. "Of course I know some people from the meeting! There's Night, Mina, Nari, Jomei, um...there's also the fellow newcomers, like Elora, and fresh acquaintances like Katoka, and then Morningstar here. Well, obviously I also know Krysta here, I know her pretty well, I'd say. We're in relationship, after all." Vigilon answered. The Cinnabar Player nodded. "How well do you know them, other than Krysta?" He asked.
Huh...that was actually a good question.
Vigilon raised his finger as he opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. He had nothing clever or true to say. "Ok so maybe the unknown remains a factor, so what?" Vigilon uttered out.
