  2. Stuff had been selling a bit more often lately. Maybe word was getting around? Maybe it was finally getting safer to reach this location, in which staying on the road wouldn't draw any aggro?

Whatever the case, it was good, especially for business.

And now another customer had walked in. She would request a custom order...and be willing to give three items free of charge if Vigilon was willing to accept them??

Vigilon's eyes widened as he looked over the items and their stats. "You add these to the deal, you won't need to pay a single Col. Heck, I should be paying you at least a little, if you're really just giving all three."

Three items, two of them carrying uniques. This was an unexpected deal, but hey, he wasn't going to pass up on this opportunity if it was actually happening.

So he went to work straight away.

An Uncommon, a Rare, and a Perfect, in that order specifically. Who knew? The Perfect item he'd crafted was just what the customer ordered, so, that turned out pretty easy. He made a sword too, but it wasn't exactly noteworthy.

He would return to the customer with the ordered item. "Right, here you go, a Tier 4 Perfect Quality Scythe. If you're serious about giving those other three items to me, know that you won't have to pay me for this item."

  5. [Day 35] [10/14/2022]

As soon as he had the chance, Vigilon got back to forging. Three probable fusion fodder crafts later, he made a rare shield before managing to craft up a perfect. He tried one more craft for good measure, but ended up salvaging it instead. Such is life, he supposed...at least he didn't screw up on the forge's maintenance and get blasted by a fiery explosion again this time...that kind of stuff was really bad for first impressions.

He would bring the two perfect quality crafts over to the counter. "There we go, two perfect quality defensive equipment, Night's Mantle and Night's Guard, as they seem to be named. The cost comes to about 1400 col, or 14 materials, whichever works best for you." He explained to the customer. It was nice to know there might be another budding tank joining the playerbase...Lord knows they'd need some good friends they can count on.

  6. [Day 34] [10/13/2022]

Vigilon knew he'd have a lot to do. First he'd have to make sure stock was all well and good, possibly make some fusions on any duplicates(once the parts for his in-progress "Fusion Forge" arrive, that is), and then get back to forging more gear.

Soon he heard someone come in, it was a young woman who looked kind of reserved. After Vigilon asked her what she needed, she softly asked if he could forge her some defensive gear, befitting of a tank, as Vigilon could guess with the words she had spoken. "I see...Alright then, I'll get on it."

After failing to salvage one attempt, he proceeded to make three standard sets of armor that will probably end up as fusion fodder, before managing to craft the ordered Armor. The shield, however...came out as an uncommon, so he'd need to take his time if he was going full perfect on both ordered items.

"This might take some time, unless you're content with what I've already made." He noted to the customer.

  7. Zandra seemed to relax when the other players admitted that this was also their first time in a situation like this. She then sent an invite to the players, and Vigilon accepted the invite sent to him. Yuki would mention a variety of factors regarding the search, but when darkness was mentioned, Vigilon was ready to respond. "Well, I did say I had Night Vision, so I should be able to see hidden things a bit more clearly. Cleverer tactics will be necessary for something to be hidden from me...unless something goes horribly wrong, that is." He would note.

Jomei, at some point during the walk, noticed a flooded mine entrance. He suggested swimming through it to see if there was anything there, but before Vigilon could give his thoughts, two elementals emerged from the water, taking humanoid form as they did. They didn't look friendly, so there was of course only one way to handle this...

Oh, but if only Vigilon had brought some consumables with him, these slippery water creatures knew how to dodge. He'd rushed towards the monsters during his attempted attack, however, and was now behind the enemies. "Huh...well, I guess this makes a fair flanking opportunity..." He muttered.

  10. Vigilon would hear Krysta calling out to him, and he would immediately turn towards the direction of her voice. He would head over to her, and the two players would hug for a few seconds, for it had been some time since they had been near each other. "It's been a while, Jewel...I kind of missed you, even though it's only been like, a week or two." Vigilon remarked. He'd began to grow more attached to her as time was going on...maybe waiting really was the right decision, after all.

He could only hope that anything that might interfere with his love life wouldn't damage his bond with her.

For the time being, of course, the two were going to scout out the floor for a place where players could relax without having to worry about monsters...somewhere along the shores of the volcanic isle that was this floor. "And would you look at how the place has changed! I've never seen some of these stone formations around until now, but upon a closer look, it turns out to be petrified wood! I bet all the informants and lorekeepers are having a ball, trying to learn as much as they can about the floor." He added.

  11. Zandra noted that it was nice to know Vigilon would be joining on this expedition. The Ginger haired player would note that it was nice to know what to call Vigilon. "Wait, I remember you, you were around when we took the fight to Razwell on the floor directly below us! Heh, nice to see you again, too...Jomei." Vigilon said after hearing the ginger player give his own name. The blonde player would note that she didn't recall being acquainted with Vigilon, and that she looked forward to working alongside him...and to stay behind her if the party ever got into a fight. Vigilon was a damage build, so he'd kinda have to get in close, but he understood if this was for the first interaction only as to draw aggro towards her and not him. This player must have been a tank. "Right, good to know, thanks for the tip."

Zandra would explain the situation, including the fact that she'd sent the message to most players on her friend list.

Vigilon, of course, was confused, as he didn't remember Zandra adding Vigilon to her friend list. Maybe he'd just forgotten, or maybe she picked him out from players she'd known that weren't on the friend list...regardless, that barely had anything to do with why the players were here. Zandra noted that it was her first time on this floor, and the other two noted that this was their first time on the floor as well. "I guess we're all going in with the same knowledge, seeing that it's first time for each of us on this floor...I've only been in a raid like, three times, but nothing as serious as a floor boss...and this would also be my first time scouting a floor as well..." Vigilon added, realizing just how new to this whole thing he really was. He scratched the back of his head, and hoped to put the issues with his "wait, I'm new to this" scenario behind him. "So, I guess we're mostly on the same boat in this case, then? I suppose we won't be holding each other back in that case...right?" He remarked, hoping to stay positive as he put on a light smile that ended up showing signs of nervousness.

  13. [Day 31] [7/9/2022]

    Another day, another Order.

A new face he hadn't seen before came into his shop, requesting two items. One from stock, and one custom order. "I'll get right on it." Vigilon answered.

New tactics for forging always came with complications. As innovative as Vigilon tried to be, trying new things while having a particular substance in the fiery areas in the forge did have great risks. "Wait...that smell....Aw, crap, not agai-"

    *Booosssssshhhhh!!!!*

So much for a good first impression, he'd lost a material to the fiery explosion, to boot. Looks like it was time to fix and clean up the forge again... "Guuuuuuhhhhhhh....I really need to find better ways around this...those <<Fire Salts>> aren't exactly cheap..." He grumbled to himself as he repaired the forge before cleaning it.

Until he could find a safer alternative, this is what he was stuck working with. He was always trying to find better ways to run the forge, so of course, there was always the risk of improper handling of that substance within the forge during the process...maybe he should stop trying to find efficiency shortcuts and stick with what he had for the time being. With the Forge back up and running once more, he returned to Crafting. He made some armor, though it didn't exactly fit the requirements. He then failed to salvage another attempt...and then...

Suddenly his luck had struck gold. He proceeded to make the item that was requested, as well as two other Perfect Quality items that he was sure someone might have use for one day. "Phew...well, at least it all turned out ok." He remarked. Veriost, the small white frost dragon, would then fly over to aggressively cool Vigilon down...in her usual method, which was blasting his face with her frost breath. "YYYEEEAAAAGGGHHHH, Cold, cold, cold!!!"

At last, he picked up the item that fit the requirements for the order, and set it down on the counter in front of the customer. "I don't think you'll be needing that other equipment if you get this....unless you intend to gift it to someone else, that is." He said to the girl. "This'll be about 1400 col or 7 materials, whichever price works for you."

  14. Vigilon was a bit surprised to find he'd received a message from Zandra. He barely recognized the name, the memory only being faint. He knew the name only from that event on the sixteenth floor, the username of its hostess.

If the front really was in need of his help, however...

There was only one way to find out, so he started making preparations for the trip. A journey like this was likely to be more dangerous than what he was used to. This may end up being less than he made it out to be, but it was better to be prepared. Better safe than sorry...only, he didn't have any consumables, he only had a teleport crystal...and maybe that strange weapon in his inventory.

"First time for everything, I suppose." He remarked to himself as he equipped the weapon and placed the crystal back into his inventory. It was time to head for the nearest teleport gate.

Arriving at the settlement of Ronbaru, Vigilon would find himself in a city of unending night. He'd been curious about this floor, but given that it was the latest floor to be unlocked, he'd assumed that it was also the most dangerous one around, that nothing could get harder than this for the time being, that there would be enemies everywhere he went. Well, one way to find out for sure...and he was already here, so it wasn't like there was any turning back, either.

There, a bench with three people that stood out, this was probably the party he was invited to.

"I never actually thought I'd get picked out for something like this, I'll admit." Vigilon began as he approached the trio. "I'm not late, am I?" He asked. After any answers, he'd continue. "Well, I don't think I've met any of you personally or formally, so... I'm Vigilon. My skill sets include both searching and night vision, so I can keep an eye out for things, when I'm not fighting something off, that is." He would then draw his weapon, which seemed to radiate some heat. "And with this new weapon I have, I can provide some decent damage." He added, before sheathing the blade. "I um..." Aaaand he ran out of words to say. "I-I'm ready to help out."

  16. It was about time Vigilon sought out an opportunity for a real break, as it was getting harder to catch one lately. For nostalgia's sake, he wanted to explore floor 16 with Krysta, and see if there were still a few locales of the island floor that had low spawn rates of hostile mobs. If they had any luck, a nice summer break would be nice...hopefully, things would go as planned.

Upon arriving at the newly transformed floor, Vigilon took an initial look at his surroundings. While the settlement may be the pretty close to the volcano, almost attached to it, as it would seem, the place looked pretty pleasant. All he needed to do now was wait for Krysta, and it would all go from there. As he waited, he looked around, hoping to get a feel for what it was like here, now that he was actually paying attention to the floor and its inhabitants, who just so happened to be Dwarves. Upon closer inspection to some of the huge stone formations, he'd realize it was actually petrified wood. A lorekeeper might have a field day with an environment like this...

  17. Time passed, Dazia didn't show up. That meant only one thing... Vigilon had to just move on and assume she was ok.

Exploring this other corridor was easier than anticipated, but it was probably because the strange statues had enough of a variety that they kept things from looking the same. Which door should Vigilon open next? What would he find there? Would he come out somewhere else like what ended up happening last time?

Too much confusion. Vigilon needed something simple for once.

Then he reached the end of the hall and found a larger set of doors. When he approached them, he saw that there were...slots...where some things could fit...shaped like...tokens...and Vigilon had only one. "Figures." Vigilon muttered. Looks like he'd have to explore a little more if he wanted to see what lay beyond those doors.

He walked over to the nearest smaller door and opened it...entering another room that changed its layout once Vigilon entered. As Vigilon looked around, he then noticed something off. Despite its white coloring, as white as the rest of this room, the treasure chest within the room could not hide from Vigilon.

    ID# 209481 LD: 20+6=26(found a treasure chest!)

  18. Vigilon picked up the strange token, and then the door opened. Vigilon decided that it was time to leave, as there was nothing else here for him. Hopefully he'd be able to catch up with Dazia so that there wouldn't be any further encounters dealt with alone.

When he left through the door, however, he found himself...in a room that wasn't the entry hall. Figures. "Oh, come on!" He groaned. "I'm not gonna be trapped here, am I?"

So maybe it wasn't just the rooms' interiors that moved...but maybe the rooms themselves? Wait, how does that even work? This is a Citadel, right? Rooms can't move like that! Vigilon began to rack his brain for possibilities. "Let's see...how could I have gotten from there to here, when there was only one door in the room? Hmm....no, there's no halls connecting the rooms to the doors, and the structures are straight, not curved...SO HOW IN THE HEAVENS IS THIS HAPPENING???"

As his mind fell into chaos in his utter failure to try making sense of the room he was just in, there was nothing he could do for the moment but wait and hope that Dazia would show up soon.

  19. The false Garixon got up, with some difficulty, only to be met with the end of Vigilon's weapon, finishing him off.

Over already...well, at least Vigilon could now get back to figuring out this strange room...right?

Well...sort of. There didn't seem to be anything else in this room. ...Either that, or there was something of interest that blended in with the environment because everything in the room, including the room itself, were all white as porcelain. The shifted area didn't seem to have much, other than pillar-tiles that used to be the floor having different variations in height, but only one of them was as tall as Vigilon. Was this room trying to simulate something? What was all of this even about?

The Ivory Citadel sure had many mysteries, indeed.

It felt like a ten minute search throughout an open room, but the next thing he knew, there was suddenly another figure at the end of the room. Vigilon approached the figure, but it was merely a statue. In it's hand, however, was a red token.

...but what was the purpose of this random red token, and how did this statue even get here in the first place??

  20. What kinds of encounters really were these? What was the Cardinal up to this time? Why was Vigilon facing a shadow of someone who once was? Why did the layout of this room even shift? What was even going on here??

Despite these questions floating in Vigilon's mind, he left them alone for the time being as to keep his head in the fight. He knew this wasn't Garixon, as shown by the red cursor above the enemy's head. "Why are you messing with me?" Vigilon asked. "Why are you trying to use the form of the fallen against me?"

The false Garixon chuckled. "Do you really think I'm 'messing' with you? I'm here to finish what I started. You should know what that is by now, of course."

Vigilon pushed back his foe and activated his sword art. His weapon shone in a silver light as an aura enveloped Vigilon. Within a few seconds, his weapon had torn into his enemy several times, and the last of the devastating blows sent said enemy flying, all the way to the wall.

  21. No words needed to be exchanged between Vigilon and the false Garixon as they both went straight into combat. Vigilon's attack, Draco Rend, was a new, unexpected attack for the opponent, and despite his nimble movements, Vigilon's attack landed against him nevertheless. The false Garixon did manage to thrust his weapon into Vigilon, but the damage dealt wasn't nearly as damaging as it was back then on that evening. Vigilon didn't know if this would go the same way, or if it would go differently. But he knew this...he wasn't intent on losing this fight. Whatever this was, he'd make sure it would fall.

The false Garixon didn't have much to say, as his focus was entirely on the fight. Vigilon also kept his eyes on the opponent, watching his movements, looking for openings to strike and attacks to dodge or deflect. Regardless of how it went last time, the end result would surely be the same.

  22. It was only after Vigilon had opened the door that seemed to grab his attention that he'd realized Dazia wasn't with him. One of the two had unwittingly split the party...

...And those who have played D&D(like Vigilon, and maybe you) know full well that splitting the party usually leads to all kinds of trouble. Before he could turn back, however, the floor of the room he was in shook and shifted. What was even happening here?

When the room's layout stopped changing, there seemed to be someone at the end of the room. "What the...?" He ran over to the end, where he stopped, recognizing the figure, despite the cursor being that of a game entity; an NPC.

"...You got some nerve coming here." The figure spoke. "Just being a potential threat wasn't enough for you, was it?"

Vigilon, wide eyed, knew who this...thing, was appearing as... "...There's no way..."

    Garixon.

  23. So the interior was just as white as the exterior? Well, alright then... Vigilon pulled up his map, hoping that the name of a landmark would be displayed over his location.

Indeed, there it was, "Ivory Citadel".

"Well, I guess it makes sense...this place is called the 'Ivory Citadel', so I can see the connection." Vigilon observed before closing the map, as the landmark's internal map didn't seem to be a thing, and the two players would have to navigate it without a map to guide them.

Dazia mentioned that she felt as though she was being watched. "Honestly...me too. I get the feeling that something's got an eye on us..." Vigilon agreed. This feeling...it was similar to the hostile presences he'd felt before entering combat within his mindscape, and yet...he wasn't in a mindscape, so why would he be getting this feeling? Was it because this location was as the end of the Forest of Memory?

He could already feel something, as if there was something around, tugging at him for attention. His eyes turned to look at a door at the top of a small staircase.

  25. Upon passing through the suspicious foliage, he saw it. "Huh...so it does exist...well, I guess that means it's time to get a closer look, then." He remarked.

The area may have had a large citadel, white in color, in place of more trees, but the branches were still insistent on seeking out every patch of light available, the top of the tower wasn't even in sight. The external walls and gate would have been overgrown, if not for the tree branches taking up the sunlight and drastically reducing the amount of flora in the area.

Vigilon slipped through the gate which had been ajar, and gestured for Dazia to follow. The entryway "Courtyard" or whatever you'd call a gated "front lawn" of a structure like a citadel, was about twelve meters in distance, and it wasn't long before Vigilon approached the large doors that no doubt would open into the mysterious structure.
