  1. "I'm not sure," Vigilon admitted. "We could be, but we might be walking into the wrong area."

The area darkened, the trees were thicker, taller, darker, and their branches all mingled and intertwined, seeking every available ray of light, leaving the forest floor below to be raw soil, fresh and potentially fertile, yet barren. Dazia was alert, which made sense, as the darker environment would be easier to hide within...and there was never any telling what might be hiding within the shadows...

Vigilon looked over to Dazia. "Concerned that something's watching us?" He asked. "...To be honest, so am I." He added, looking at his surroundings with a wary expression plastered onto his face. He couldn't help but feel like something was wrong, and yet there was nothing in sight.

How odd, usually he wasn't the luckiest. Was there actually nothing to worry about, or was the coming danger just biding its time? Well....there was only gonna be one way to find out, wasn't there?

  2. Vigilon could have sworn he'd almost dozed off there. Maybe he needed that "Energy Drink" in his inventory after all...especially now that Dazia was awake and probably hoping to get a move on. Vigilon had already decided quite a few hours ago to avoid an unnecessary cursor-affecting beating by not making any mentions of how Dazia was actually adorable when sleeping. He pulled out the "Energy Drink" from his inventory...

He actually had a problem getting it down. It tasted like old soda mixed with buttercream frosting that was a bit too buttery, maybe some kind of aftertaste was present, too... Just what the heck was used to make this stuff, anyway? Was Akudo getting his hands on weird ingredients again? Maybe he should stop getting stuff from that guy, unless it's intel. First the bear meat that was coated in beer cheese, and now this...what other sacrilege has that man done to the natural order of things?

After he'd managed to get it down, Vigilon got up, stretched, and turned to look at Dazia. "I'm on about four and a half hours sleep, along with what turned out to be an extremely questionable energy drink. Word of advice, never get consumables from a player named Akudo. Anyways, I should be ready enough for the coming trek, so whenever you're ready..."

  3. "Hmmmrrrn?"

Vigilon was gently awakened, something he never expected from Dazia, in all honesty. He got out of the bed roll, but he left it out in case Dazia wanted to use it. Now it was his turn to keep watch.

It's been too long since Vigilon played an actual game. This didn't count since it was a virtual prison full of would-be innocents...due to player-killing, obviously, this wasn't the case anymore. Just a bunch of people trying so hard not to die, fighting for the homes, friends, lives, and more that ended up being taken away as they were trapped in this place...oddly enough, how the heck could it drive people to insanity?

His thoughts would wander, but he wouldn't let that stop him from keeping an eye out for potential threats. However, only an occasional nocturnal animal would simply pass by. A few hours passed, and Vigilon looked back to see how his ally was doing. He was expecting some kind of sound, but there seemed to be silence, not even a snore, and-

    ?!?!?!?

Oh no, she's an adorable sleeper.

Vigilon's eyes widened in surprise as he saw Dazia sleeping peacefully, her expression shockingly sweet and serene, as she lay there, curled up and fast asleep. Was this a test, a sign of trust, or just how she usually sleeps? Vigilon didn't know, but he wasn't going to try and find out, best leave this as one of the greatest mysteries he'd ever known. Regardless, it was hard to believe she was such a sweet sleeper when she could be known by others as an incarnation of wrath when she was awake.

    Well, the more you know...

  4. "Tired already?" Vigilon asked, confused.

Dazia then explained the sight issues that come with nightfall. "Ah, didn't get Night Vision, then? Looks like you've got some skills to invest in....is it level, or have you not been taking quests lately?" Vigilon asked in response, wondering how Dazia didn't have all these skills yet even though they would all be very beneficial for her and/or her build.

Vigilon looked up, he could barely see the sky poking through the branches of the trees. He then looked to where the game's time was. ...Wait, it was nighttime already?

...Well, here seemed like a fair enough spot to rest, although all that Vigilon had in terms of resting was a sleeping bag, a fluffy one made primarily of hide, though its fluffiness made it more suited for colder environments like floor 4. No tents that provided resting benefits. "I suppose I could turn in a bit early, might give me the chance to be awake at dawn...I'm not usually a morning person, unlike Krysta..."

Vigilon doubted that Dazia would turn down the opportunity to take first watch.

  5. Both players seemed to be sure that nothing was wrong. Nari noted that she felt watched back in the settlement, but she also seemed to be confident that the party could handle anything. The pink haired player claimed that as a leader, their job was to keep everyone safe, but that the party was alone as of the moment. "I usually try to be attentive to my surroundings too, leader or no." Vigilon agreed. "I guess I've gotten jumpy due to all those run ins with various-"

    !?!?

A message notice appeared in front of Vigilon...from Dazia. After reading it's contents, he sighed. "Could you two give me a second?" He asked his party members, before turning around and walking right over to the stone that he'd noticed a cowl poking out from. "Alright now, come on out." He said. Upon no response, Vigilon took matters into his own hands. He took hold of, and lifted up an unamused looking Dazia and walked back over to the party before setting her down. Vigilon might not have been that much taller than Dazia, but his training had eventually resulted in him having enough strength to manage this. "Okay, so..." Vigilon began. "Nari, Yuki, this is Dazia..." He introduced. As of the moment, Vigilon believed that Dazia was just being wary, for she had a least a small number of enemies...one of which being Krysta, as well as pretty much most of the players who Krysta tipped off...but there was only one way to know for sure. "So...just to make sure we're all on the same page, why were you shadowing us just now?"  He asked Dazia. "I'm pretty sure you would have avoided us if you thought these two were potential threats."

  6. Hi. I felt like doing this.

This thread I've set up is for us on the site to show some love to the characters on site. Share which characters(up to five) you love the most(or whichever ones are your Waifus/Husbandos, if you're into that), and you can feel free to explain why, if you'd like.

Before we get to it, let's make some things clear.

1: This is for SAO-RPG Characters, official canon does not count.
2: NPCs and NPC-Players do not count. We will simp for Account Characters here.
3: If you want to add a character you write onto your list, Please know that You may not have more than one on your list.
4: Do not hate on others' simping.
5: Try not to simp falsely as to irritate someone who may not be comfortable with it. Let's keep it civil, please.
6: Remember to simp for the Character, not the Writer.
7: You may feel free to update your list whenever you'd like, and you can tag the characters on your list.
8: If you have any confusions, problems or suggestions, please PM me on site or Message me on Discord, I'd love to help clear things up and keep things positive around here.
9(Temporary): If you think I'm starting things off, I'll tell you now that I won't, as I've realized by now that I need to rp with y'all's characters more :) Thankfully, I've provided two examples below that you can use.

You can add one to five names of characters you love or simp for. Here are two potential examples, if one feels like copy-pasting some format for their list...

Well, with all that out of the way, enjoy making/reading posts on the thread!

  7. Once Krysta had gone full on Smite on a heavily armored soldier that made the stupid ass decision to try fighting against her one on one, the rest was kind of a blur.

Vigilon found himself cutting through any enemy that got in his way, but thanks to Krysta leading the charge, there weren't many enemies getting past her, so at least it wasn't all for naught, he was probably going to need his energy.

Krysta bumped into the redheaded player from earlier, but said redhead didn't feel like joining up. Must have been one of those glory-seeking kinds of players, who didn't care what happened as long as they got the last hit and were proclaimed the big hero.

Once the Players were in the control room, the NPC that was with the Frontliners would basically hand over the honors of killing the mastermind over to the players. Vigilon attempted to strike, but a wind blew him back. When he was able to get a foothold, the winds were weakened by multiple layers' of several players' Barriers. Krysta would speak her mind, before using Barrier on her party and two others. This was the time to strike, if he didn't now, the number of enemies would overwhelm certain players. Figures, another wall to break through before reaching the target.

Vigilon would make sure that this fool who dared to try playing God would get what he freaking deserved, one way or another. He unleashed a flurry of Sword Arts against the Elite Guardsmen, there was no way they'd be able to last much longer after this assault.

  8. Another party of players joined the fray. It wouldn't be long before the garrison was eliminated at this point.

More shielded soldiers arrived, and formed an actual blockade. "Damn it," Vigilon thought. This would be difficult if something didn't happen soon.

    Then two things happened.

First, the Ginger player jumped down from above, landing behind the blockade, and attacking the enemies' flank.

Second, the airship that the player-pilot had apparently chosen to abandon proceeded to enter the docking bay entirely. It seemed that some of the NPCs might have also wanted a piece of the action...as a small squadron of them came running to try and join in the efforts.

Vigilon turned around and kept his attention on the battle. Some of the blockade soldiers turned their attention to Jomei, and this would be Vigilon's chance to start poking holes in the enemy's formation. He unleashed his sword arts against the enemy forces, damaging some, and killing those who had turned their attention to Jomei. The enemy forces closed any gaps Vigilon had opened, but as a result, the amount of area they could cover had began to lessen. As long as the ginger player kept distracting the enemy from behind, the players would be able to get through the blockade in less time than first expected.

"Let's keep this up, everyone!" He called out to his allies in the party.

    @Jomei @Oji

  9. The ginger player followed anyway. He wouldn't openly judge the player's decision, after all, the players came to fight against the mastermind behind the attempted nuking of both players and innocents. If the ship got raided...well, it is what it is, and war was a brutal thing.

Vigilon looked to the ginger player. "In all honesty, I had a feeling Krysta and I needed some backup, I just wanted to make sure nothing happened to the innocents aboard the ship. Since we're all here, of course, we might as well finish it together." He noted.

With that, it was back to the battle. The garrison wasn't backing down, so the three players would have to fight their way through. The enemy managed to set up a barricade of shielded soldiers for each player present. Vigilon's foes held shields in one hand, and polearms in the other. The enemy had the tactical advantage, but not for long. Vigilon wouldn't be able to get past the barricade if he charged for their shields, so maybe the best course of action would be...

He leaped into the air as he readied his attack, and the enemy pointed their weapons upward. This is exactly what he expected. He spun around as he plummeted towards them, his blade snapping two of the polearms' wooden shafts into splinters. He'd hoped to destroy them all, but at least he was able to then reach the enemy, finishing with Draco Rend. Once the soldier barricades were defeated, Vigilon would spot a forming leak amongst the enemy forces. He would then rush in to strike the enemies there down as to create an opening for his allies.

    @Jomei @Krysta

  10. Vigilon was sent a party invite without hesitation. He pressed accept and then came the conversation.

Vigilon chuckled when the violet haired player pronounced Vigilon's name incorrectly. "Vigilon, yes." He replied. People would get names wrong every once in a while, but it was never really a big deal unless someone had an unkind way of correction. "Nice to meet you both." He added, since the two players were introduced by the Violet haired player, Nari. Nari then proceeded to guess his build...accurately, to boot. "Well yes, actually. I am indeed a DPS player...is my build that easy to guess? I mean, sure, I do have skills other than just damage based ones, but...yeah." He said. With the way that the pink haired player, Yuki, had spoken, it would seem the player was a Tank. Nari looked like one who used heavy armor, but not every player who used heavy armor was a Tank, so without confirmation it was hard to tell.

The players then started on their way to look for the stronger Cerberus, but something seemed off. Yuki seemed to be more alert than expected. Did Yuki notice some tiny detail or trace that something was amiss? "Something wrong?" He asked.

    @Nari-Lanreth @Zajcica

  11. Krysta would lead the charge towards the control room, and once there was a break in the enemy lines the players went for it. Now all there was to do was take the control room and defend it. Vigilon charged towards the soldiers guarding the pilots, striking them down with a powerful attack. Once that was taken care of, most of the enemy pilots had seemed to finish some sort of communication before turning to flee...except for one that was staring at Vigilon, while standing next to the control console.

"For King and Country!" The enemy NPC called out as his arm moved down as to try slamming down the button. Vigilon rushed in, grabbed the arm with his free hand, pulling the NPC away, and proceeded to decapitate the enemy pilot for good measure.

There would be no suicidal takedowns against his allies, not on his watch, and not when they were so close. Vigilon looked around him to see that the two allied pilots were now handling the controls, which meant it was time to guard the door and take down anything that tried to get in.

It was a fair amount of time before the players' destination was reached, and thankfully there seemed to be enough of a break in enemy forces for energy to replenish. The airship was taken, and now it was time to board the enemy Flagship.

Vigilon looked to the ginger and the pilot in terms of players. "I can trust you both can guard the ship?" He asked. He then looked at the Ginger player directly. "I say this to both of you because the NPCs may need more than one player to guide and protect them. One to keep the ship in the air, the other to take down any surprise attacks." He explained, not knowing that all forces were headed for the flagship.

    @Jomei @Oji

As expected, the wide-open area that was the docking bay would be crawling with enemy troops. Vigilon readied his sword art, and struck down four. "Out of our way." He warned, despite just how unlikely they would listen.

    @Krysta

  12. "I hate it, too, I'm lucky to be able to survive in environments like this, but it's sad that you don't seem to have the same tolerance..."

Vigilon's familiar, a small white frost dragon, was climbing all over him, trying to find a place to hide from the searing heat. To the familiar, this was a literal environmental shock, as this floor was in a state of constant heat, unlike her own floor of origin, the polar opposite of this, being floor 4, a land of endless winter. The small dragon growled, irritated that heat wasn't something that could simply be shaken off.

Vigilon sighed. He wasn't used to his familiar being so aggravated. Then again, he didn't know if familiars could learn the survival skill as players could, which would explain why the heat irritated her despite her having been around when the sandstorm came through back on the fifth floor. Speaking of which, he didn't have much to do on this floor, why was he here again? Oh, right, the rumors of the bad doggo's return. Might as well make use of those buffs in his inventory, be prepared for anything... He took out and consumed all three. ...Damn, they were all still too mild to really enjoy.

He would step outside the settlement boundary, eventually finding two players, both heavily armored. Were they tanks? It wouldn't hurt to ask if they needed any extra firepower, right? "Hey, is there anything you two might need help with?"  He asked. "I kinda need something to do...though I've been hearing rumors about a stronger Cerberus lately..."

...yeah, he could have come up with something better to start the interaction with...

  13. Vigilon really had a lot he'd need to take care of at some point. Being out in the field as usual when training, he would wander throughout one of the many floors....

Oh, look, it's that guy and his camp again.

The fact that he hasn't been raided yet was a surprise to Vigilon. Was this player under a protection act or something? Honestly, he shouldn't be one to judge, he should really just appreciate that despite the buffs the guy makes aren't the best tasting, they were reliable and came in a pinch, which meant that whenever this guy's camp came into view, it was clearly an opportunity to stock up on buffs.

...but maybe a few essentials was all he needed for the time being. If he really wanted to stock up, then...nah, Vigilon was saving up for something big, he'd need every purchase to be an investment, rather than a "never know when you'll need 'em" scenario

Picking out three consumables, he'd proceed to make his purchase.

(OOC: I'm doing this on assumption that you're not out of stock just yet, 'cause I don't have time to try calculating all the purchase posts to see if the buffs I need are in stock or not. Please update the shop when you can O-O)

  14. Things would go fast from here.

First, Dazia would remark that she supported a relationship with Koharu. Vigilon sighed, and Dazia simply said to give the girl a chance. Ayaka was indeed a friend to Vigilon, he didn't see her in a romantic light as she did with him, and it was difficult to know that he didn't have legitimate feelings for her, not to mention that he was already taken....and yet the girl didn't care, she wanted to be with him anyway... "Dazia, I-"

Dazia would continue, stating that since she was going to be making restitution to those who Wardege knew, that he would have to do something in return...and wouldn't you know it, the deed was a date with Koharu. Vigilon stood there for a few seconds, allowing Dazia to take the lead and forge ahead. "..." Yeah, there wasn't anything good that would come out of following through with it, unless by some miracle, a certain someone was fine with the risk. "...Jewel's gonna kill me..." He thought aloud.

When Vigilon entered the chamber, he entered to see Dazia just straight up Assassinate the three-headed monster.

This...was the second time he'd expected a fight and witnessed the slaughter of a pushover.

Well, it wasn't like he could argue with results, so it was time to head back to Knorlit Village.

  15. Dazia remained silent, leaving Vigilon's words with no response.

However, thankfully, it wasn't long before Dazia closed her map and told Vigilon that they'd arrived. Huh, that was quick.

Upon arrival, Hellhounds showed up and Dazia dispatched three of them. Two more came up and Vigilon pulled out his weapon, and readied his Sword Art, Draco Rend. He slayed all three remaining Hellhounds in the vicinity. "There." He noted. "That should be the last of them...now we just gotta keep going until we find a three headed bad woof."

The cavern itself was ridiculously warm. If it weren't for the Survival Skill, he'd be burning up right now...guess that dumpster fire in the sandstorm was worth it. "Guess that incident in the desert paid off after all..." He remarked. Hopefully Dazia wouldn't try to bring up Koharu, Vigilon still saw the girl only as a friend, but he didn't want to break her heart...however, he was taken and he didn't exactly want to leave her hanging without an answer, either...oh, what to do in that case?

  16. Dazia would explain that Hiraani, known in-game as Valna, was the only one of her siblings she actually checked in with. "You sure? Why don't you touch base with the others? I mean, I can understand not getting along with that Haimi character, but exactly what's keeping you apart from everyone else?" Vigilon asked. "Sure, Alyssa and I have a bit of a divide between us as well, but that's because she dropped her actual self just to look tough and she won't tolerate me trying to help her." He added. "It was like everything started going downhill when my Dad died, I guess it left behind too much of an emotional impact..."

Vigilon sighed, then he shook his head. "I know you don't care about my Dad...but I did, and your opinions won't stop me from keeping mine."

Vigilon saw his father as a great man, who cared deeply for his wife and two children. His loss was a terrible one, and its effects seemed almost everlasting...

Vigilon could only hope that his Mother and his Sister were doing fine, and that he'd be able to see them again...

  17. All that was left now was to head over to the specified location, marked on Dazia's map.

There was always much to do. Spending time with Krysta, training, fighting, looking into suspicious leads, taking on quests, and just generally dealing with things with little to no break for himself. Had he become a workaholic? ...Well, maybe not on purpose...but aside from all that, now he had to keep an eye on Dazia in case she ever breaks her word and goes back to making a mess of things...and he thought she'd been getting steadily better, too...maybe she was, but still had the same opinion on each moment? Did she not show signs of her own growth?

This thinking to oneself wasn't always the best, but silence was what usually came around these two when there wasn't something important to talk about...Dazia always was the type to either make a point for or against you, or the topic of your conversation wasn't worth her time...at least, that was Vigilon's experience with the matter. Dazia wasn't rude, but she...well....she wasn't the sort to make any kind of small talk on purpose, everything had to have some kind of importance or she doesn't care. "So...how have your siblings been doing so far?" Vigilon asked.

    Family was important, right?

  18. Dazia explained her true reasons for being here on this floor, and then proceeded to suggest the next course of action. Already she was on the right track, in two ways, to boot. This was relieving to an extent. "Yeah, that would probably be best." Vigilon agreed.

Finding an NPC was easy, but finding the right one...there in lies the problem. Vigilon hadn't exactly met the inhabitants of Knorlit Village before, so of course he had no clue who he should be speaking to. It took twenty minutes of failed conversations for Vigilon to notice the wounded and scorched dude who looked kind of uh, wait, what was the word? ...not suspicious, but...

Whatever, point is, he stood out a bit more than the others, and in games like these, that usually meant something.

"Hey," Vigilon greeted as he approached the particular NPC"Is there anything you might know about a bunch of hellhounds and where to find them?" He asked.

  19. "Yes. That's it. I'm not joking." Vigilon responded to Dazia's confusion as to what Vigilon's task was for her.

Well, the chat was now settling down at last, but it seems that the conversation had gotten heated enough to catch the attention of an NPC or two. One shook his head. "It's bad enough that we're dealing with that thing running about like it owns the place, now Adventurers arguing amongst themselves? What's next, infighting, in our very borders?" He remarked as he returned to his work.

Right, this was a safe zone...wait, what "Thing" was that NPC talking about? Vigilon looked to one of the other NPCs. "Hey, is something wrong?" He asked. The NPC looked weary from stress. "We can hardly step outside the Village without those hellhounds and their master coming to try and kill us, we've been having some trouble keeping this place in good shape with them running about...if only we knew where their master's den was, we'd be able to send someone capable off to get rid of those infernal mutts..." She answered.

    Well...that's trouble, all right.

Vigilon looked over to Dazia. "Well, we both can survive various areas of the floor, so...wanna help out and take this as an opportunity?" He asked her.

  20. Dazia seemed to quake inside, given her reaction. She wasn't mad in this moment, she was afraid. She must have felt threatened.

Dazia noted how it would be impossible to try making restitution to Krysta. "I will talk to her. I'll take it slow if need be, but I'm sure there's a way to calm her down to the point where she no longer wants to kill you...but you will still owe her greatly as to apologize for Wardege's Murder. If we escape Aincrad, how will we know she won't press charges against you? You'll basically be facing all kinds of punishments if we don't get this resolved." Vigilon explained.

"As for the others...I'll try to see who they were and see what they would want from you. ...then there's me. Wardege and I, we were almost friends, you could say, and thus you owe me a favor as well...thankfully for you, this should be no problem for you. That Guild that Yinangi wanted you to Join? Keep helping them, join them if you have to... They seem like good people, and you definitely need some good people in your life." He added.

Vigilon's stare lessened in intensity. "Just...at least think about it, won't you?"

  21. Well, if anything, Dazia kind of cracked, explaining her reasons for each kill.

...Oddly enough, her description for the fight against Wardege seemed to be the only malicious one. The rest sounded...different.

    "..."

Vigilon's gaze would bore into Dazia's glare. "...So it's true...you never felt any remorse for your kills." Vigilon noted, his voice still stern, but more calm and controlled. "Out of all of them, I find the killing of Wardege to be the most malicious, and the slaying of Lupix to be the most noble, given the descriptions you spoke, should they be the truth." He added. Wardege was a friend before his snap and death. Had Dazia spared him, he could have become someone much better... "I've been handling the whole debacle between you and Wardege the same way as American Law. Suspect is Innocent until proven guilty." He said. "And you..." He began. "...Have just revealed that you are indeed guilty of Wardege's Murder."

Dazia was indeed a murderer. One kill was done as to protect an innocent, two kills were out of self-defense, but the death of Wardege...was indeed malicious.

"One way or another, you need to make it up to those he knew." He decided. "All of them."

Vigilon's words, though in a calm tone and volume, were filled with anger on the truth. Dazia needed to make restitution for what she'd done.

  22. This...was clearly not going as planned. Vigilon had expected some resistance, but utter criticism...

"Dazia, this is serious, it's something we've gotta work through, it's more than simply taking sides." He said when Dazia first mentioned choosing only one player to stick by.

"You need to put some things aside...I say you should pick a side because if you keep sticking around me, as you've already mentioned, you're gonna be in trouble. If you stick around her and not me, you won't be getting on her bad side. You love her, right? So maybe you should just focus on the more immediate problem that is Krysta being a vengeful little Princess!"

    .............

Oh, things were getting worse. "How many people has Krysta killed? How many have you killed? The ratio is 0:4 so far and it's only getting worse, that's why I'm trying to see if we can't set up a compromise so that you can stop making everyone hate you!" He responded, his voice starting to rise as emotions heated between the two players. "Look around you, this is a volcanic land, a volcanic world." He began, gesturing to the environment around. "The volcanoes are spewing fire and lava all over the place, everything burns in its wake! This is what your tendency to kill may become if we don't do something about it! I can't stand idly by as you go taking lives like nobody cares!" He continued, his voice having a stern and serious tone. "I might have killed someone, even out of self defense, but you've killed four people and you what, you feel no remorse for it? 'Cause that's what I've been hearing!" He exclaimed.
