  1. Alec continued his walk through the cavern of the 21st Floor keeping an eye out for any mobs that might be wandering his way. After all Alec thought to himself he didn’t want to get ambushed out here alone. That could spell disaster. As Alec walked he spotted a shiny gem lying behind a rock. Bending over and retrieving the gem the oversized Tank spotted another pair of eggs lying in the dirt next to the gem. Scooping them all up together Alec smiled again. “Check it out Humphrey.” Alec exclaimed we got about 20 of these things so far and we just started. I sure hope they’re not dome a dozen.” The large man stated in a serious tone as he pocketed the items and continued his walk through the caverns aiming toward a bend in the cave where he thought he had just heard some scuffling going on. Maybe it was some more mobs or maybe it was another Player to chat with. Only time would tell the large man thought again to himself.

  2. Alec had defeated his first batch of mobs on his first Gathering trip here on the 21st Floor and so far the heavily muscled oversized Tank was feeling pretty well about the whole situation. He had even found a few handfuls of those eggs everyone seemed to be running around like crazy looking for.Alec still wasn’t even sure what their purpose was but everyone was grabbing all they could so Alec figured he’d hold onto them and see if they were worth anything. Who knew? He thought to himself as he began searching the area around him for any Materials that might be hiding in his vicinity. As Alec bent over he spotted a good looking chunk of ore in the ground a little digging and prodding pulled the softball sized wad loose revealing a pair of those eggs hiding under where the ore had been lodged. Alec smiled and chuckled to himself as he took the ore and the eggs and placed them all in his inventory with his pleasantly growing little horde he was forming on this outing.

  3. After Alec’s stumble the large Tank took extra care to ensure his footing was stable and secure eyeing where he intended to put feet before he placed them there. Once he was sure his feet were secure and comfortable Alec drew his Forearm Axe back behind himself as he twisted at the waist in preparation for his attack. Then like lighting Alec activated his Sword Art Guillotine, causing the heads of his axe to begin glowing as he hefted his Forearm Axe up over his head and brought it straight down on the exposed neck of the remaining Giant Mole severing the Mole’s head from its body and causing the exposed stump to begin gushing red pixels in a fountain before both pieces began shimmering and wavering before they both exploded into twin showers of pixels that sparkled and twinkle as they fell. As the last Giant Mole disappeared Alec placed his upon his hips and took a deep refreshing breath of air through his nose and exhaled in a long slow breath. It was good to back at it. He had really missed questing and grinding and he vowed to keep at it, no matter what.

  4. Alec had weeded the pack of four down to one lone Giant Mole and this was obviously the Alpha of their pack is it was causing nothing but problems for Alec as it kept dodging and ducking out of the way of his swings. Alec shifted his feet once more to center on the remaining foe but as he slid his foot to the side it hit a soft patch of dirt and shifted just as Alec was swinging at the remaining Mole throwing his balance off and causing him to stumble and fall mid swing. As the large heavily muscled Tank began the slow topple towards the cavern floor the lone Giant Mole lunged forward its teeth bared and wide as it latched once more onto Alec’s unprotected side leaving another round grouping of tiny hole where it’s teeth had punctured his flesh. Traces of red pixels flitted away from the holes as Alec adjusted his weight standing back upright and preparing to finish this fight for good.

  5. Alec was down to two Giant Moles before him. He had thinned the herd by half and now it was time to clean up the stragglers. Alec shifted his stance to account for the lesser number of opponents and their wider placement as he drew his weapon arm back ready to strike he quickly activated his Sword Art Timber Slash again. As he swung his Forearm Axe around the axe heads began to sputter and short as his axe heads neared their target the Mole dropped and the swing went high over its back striking the second Mole and burying itself deeply in it’s side causing it to shimmer and waver before exploding into a shower of pixels that flew into the air and rained down. The leading Mole took advantage of Alec’s turned body and dashed in nipping at his unprotected side and leaving a tiny ring of teeth marks in his flesh. As it scampered back to avoid Alec’s back handed shield swing.

  6. The Giant Moles were tiring Alec could tell by how their movements were beginning to slow. But Alec refused to let up or slow himself so he pushed on keeping the pressure on his opponents. He had dropped their health significantly in a short time but now was the time to press the advantage and drop their numbers some. As Alec drew his large arm up into the air he again activated Timber Slash and rush of joy flooded through him as again his axe heads affixed to his arm began glowing once more. As Alec stepped forward he dropped his shoulder and swung his weapon around in a sideways slash like aim an axe back home for a tree trunk turning his hip into the swing and driving the axe heads into the sides of the Moles. The first two Mole fell to the heads of his axe exploding into twin showers of pixels that rained down around Alec and his two remaining opponents. Both Moles timed their attacks in unison and snapped and bit at the larger mans legs taking little nips of flesh from his legs before he could bring his shield to bear against them.

  7. Alec stood amid the mass of Giant Moles a genuine smile upon his face few he’d had since being trapped here within the virtual prison he shared known as Aincrad. It felt good being surrounded by monsters and swinging his axe to and froe while he swiped his shield round in response to the Moles attacks. He felt light his heart felt full and he felt a joy and peace he’d been lacking for the last few months he’d shut himself up in his cabin deep in one of the far corners of the Fourth Floor. Alec activated his Sword Art Timber Slash again and his axe heads glowed with their stored up energy Alec took wide arcing side armed swings that connected with each of the Moles taking huge chunks from their sides as he swung his Forearm Axe into them repeatedly. The Moles lashed back snapping and biting at the large man in their midst taking nips and bites from his flesh as he again swung his razor sharp shield through their ranks slicing fresh incisions into their bodies. All the Moles were below the half health line and their health bars had turned yellow in response.

  8. Alec strode into the cavern that housed the lucrative hunting grounds of the 21st Floor the heavily muscled Tank quickly spotted a quartet of Giant Moles making their way through the underground cavern. Alec glanced over his shoulder at his companion friend Humphrey with a sly grin. “Well pal here goes. We’re on our way now.” With that Alec broke into a run be lining straight for the group his shield held before him and his Forearm Axe trailing behind ready to swing. As Alec neared he quickly activated a Sword Art and was rewarded with a pleasing glow emanating from his axe heads. As he closed Alec swung his arm out wide and struck each of the charging Moles with multiple side arm attacks as if he were cutting down a whole forest of trees biting deeply into all four Moles. The Moles hissed and screeched as they lashed back at the man nipping and biting taking small chunks from his fleas as he swung his other arm holding his shield through their ranks slicing deeply into half the Moles opening yet more red slashes on their bodies.

    Summary:

    Marking the beginning of each tier (Floors 1, 11, 21, etc.), these levels of Aincrad in particular each seem to have various locations among the floors that are bursting at the seams with crafting materials. They are easier to find than other hunting grounds on comparable floors, with short respawn rates to make them the best locations to hunt for materials.

    If the floor is vegetated, players can find a <<Garden>>. If there are a lot of buildings on the floor, players can find a <<Courtyard>>. If the floor is underground, players can find a <<Cavern>>. Many NPCs give away these farming locations, telling players about this amazing opportunity of extra materials, whether it be from plentiful monster drops or from the safer areas outside of town that make for easy, peaceful fishing and gathering.

    Searching:  LD rolls of 11-14 give 1 material.  LD rolls of 15+ give 2 materials.  Gatherer skill is added to this roll as well.

    Fishing:  Monsters and bosses never spawn.  Fishing receives no bonus materials.  CD 12s require a LD of 15+ (modifiers allowed) to fish up a treasure chest.  If 1-14, players receive 4 materials.

    Treasure Chests:  LD of 1-3 does not result in a mimic, but drops (Floor * 25) col and one material.

    Looting Mobs: Mobs that satisfy the loot minimum always drop (HP * 4) col and 1 material as default drops.

    Alec knew he was on the cusp of something new, exciting and different but he wasnt sure what. He knew he was close to attaining Tier 3 and was something he had been striving and struggling toward for quite some time. Once he reached Tier 3 hed be able to join the Raid Team and help clear Floors. That had been his goal since the first day here in Aincrad and now he stood on that precipice and all he needed was to take that last step and leap off into his future. But now that the time was upon him and his goals were coming into reach he was nervous. What if he wasnt ready? What if he wasnt good enough? The worries and doubts tumbled trough his mind partly due to his abysmal display on his last quest. Had it not been for his Thorns hed still be fighting Kumatetsu. But here he stood on Floor 21 ready to head out and hunt for new gear, Materials so he could get back to work in his mentor Macradons shop and Col to finance the whole endeavor. Destiny. Here I come. Announced Alec as he stepped of to face it.

     

     

     

  11. Once more Alec found himself walking into the Hot Dog Shop owned and operated by Oscar. The smells of warming bread and roasting dogs brought a smile to the large mans face and forced him to lick his lips as he began to salivate. “Greeting again Oscar!” The heavily muscled man called out as he walked through the door. “I just can’t seem to stay away.” He said cheerfully as he approached the counter. “I’m looking for something a little different today. How about a pair of those Negatation Dogs and a three pack of the Focused Dogs. I’ve have a little trouble these last few days.” Alec said as he dropped his deep rumbling baritone into a conspiratorial whisper. “In hitting mobs. My last fight I couldn’t land a single blow.” Alec finished in his whisper befpore returning his voice to normal. “So I’m hoping these’ll do the trick.” Alec ended witha smile and a chuckle. “That should be 3,500 Col unless my maths as bad as my aim.”

Alec shuddered as he walked through the Town of Beginnings, he had so many bad memories of the years he’d spent here trying to figure anything out equipping items much less opening his inventory but he was looking for a Merchant and sometimes newer Merchants set up shop here to attract new customers so that’s where he found himself when he stumbled upon the unassuming looking store front called Pandora’s Wares. The oversized man let himself into the shop and quickly noticed the musty smell of the building. As he approached the counter he brought a smile to cover his perpetual scowl and cheerily greeted the Merchant. “Good evening. My name’s Alec and I have some items I’d like identified if you have some time.” The large man began in his deep baritone rumble. “I have some Consumables I’d like ID’d. The rest of the items ou can either Sell for Junk or keep for your own Identification” Alec offered with a smile. “I have 3,360 Col for the Consumables. I’m hoping for Potions or if we’re really lucky some Crystals.” Alec continued. “The rest like I said feel free to Junk Sell or keep to help your progression. If I owe you any extra Col please let me know. I’m not really worried about the cost.” Alec ended with a smile as he placed the Col upon the counter..

  13. “Nice to meet you Mina, Akame.” The large heavily muscled man said in his deep baritone rumble with a genuine smile for the pair. “It’s very nice to meet you both.” Alec continued as he glanced around bending over to pick up a handful of 5 of the eggs lying in the grass near the trio. “Humpfrey’s around here somewhere.” Alec offered with another grin. “If you see an overly friendly Black Bear cub that’ll be him.” Alec stated just as the a for mentioned bear cub came plowing toward them at a break neck pace only to catch a paw at the last minute and come tumbling and rolling into the middle of the trio sprawled flat between them all. “Heard your name didn’t you buddy.” Alec chuckled as he bent down to ruffle the thick black fur of the bears side where he lay spread out on the ground an ear to ear ham eating grin plastered across his furry face. “What’s the deal I’ve been hearing about these eggs anyway?” Alec asked looking up to the pair.

  14. Alec stood gulping in huge lungfuls of air calming his furiously pounding heart and forcing it to slow down. As the oversized Tank stood in the clearing he spotted a glitter in the tall grass near where Kumatetsu had vanished. As the large man walked over he bent down reaching out and grasping a small statue that lay on its side. As Alec lifted the statue he saw that it was carved to look like Kumatetsu standing on its hind legs with its arms extended. As Alec lifted the statue closer to himself he caught the distinct smell of the deep forest, of moss-covered logs and the smell of the morning rain. With a satisfied smile Alec placed the statue in his inventory and turned to his friend and companion Humphrey. “Well pal. You ready to get out of here? After that fight I need a cold drink and a nap.” The large man said to his American Black Bear cub familiar with a broad if tired smile as he turned and began walking for the main town and the teleportation circle that would take him home.

    Kumatetsu Statue: A small statue [Uncommon Item] that can be placed in a home, proving that you defeated the Ferocious Kumatetsu. If used within a thread, it gives +1 Base Damage for a thread. When touched, it can give off the smell of the deep forest, the moss-covered logs and the smell of the morning rain. The distant sound of the three rivers can be heard, giving a soothing and seemingly peaceful area where one can rest. It can also be taken to group gathering to give an atmosphere.

  15. Alec eyed down the monstrous bear like beast Kumatetsu as he stalked forward. This fight had gone on long enough and he intended to end it right here and now. As Alec once more drew his arm back to take another and hopefully final swing (seeing as how he hadn’t connected with the beast a single time this fight) Alec reached out and attempted to access a Sword Art. As the heavily muscled Tank swung his arm forward the system once more denied him the ability to activate a Sword Art and his once again slowed swing was mistimed and flew wide of it’s mark causing Alec to miss Kumatetsu yet again. The beast roared in challenge and derision as it once more lunged for the large man lashing out it’s knife tipped paw colliding with the man and his shield wrapping the giant paw and claws around the edges of the shield and digging them in to Alec’s forearm but not before his edges of Alec’s shield once more sliced into the creatures paw cutting deeply and causing Kumatetsu;s form to begin shaking and wavering before exploding into a cloud of pixels that twinkle and rained down around the lone man in the clearing.

  16. The bear like beast Kumatetsu raked and rent the large mans exposed back leaving gaping ragged wounds in its wake. Alec let out a cry of pain as he rolled to the side freeing himself from the massive beasts grasp. As the large Tank stood up he reached out pleading to the game system to allow him to access a Sword Art. As the heavily muscled Tank brought his Forearm Axe down his pleas were denied yet again and his slowed attack speed allowed Kumatetsu to sway out of the way dodging the attack completely. As Alec brought his shield back around after the failed attack the bear like creature lashed out again with its giant claws smashing into the Tank’s shield clawing at the arm attached to it. The knife like claws tore once more into Alec’s flesh rending new gouges and allowing more red pixels simulating his blood to fly free of the wounds as Alec shifted his shield dragging the thorny edge against the creatures arm opening another cut of it’s own.

  17. As Alec began to stand up his knee supporting his weight buckled causing the oversized Tank to stumble and falling landing on all fours like he used to when he would give his son Danny a horsey ride around the house and backyard as a young child. The enraged bear like beast Kumatetsu took advantage of the mans weakened position and open defenses to charge in roaring in rage and anticipation as it pounced upon the prostrated man rip and tearing and gouging the exposed flesh of the mans unprotected back. Kumatetsu’s massive claws left huge furrows of opened rended flesh exposed as they jettisoned red pixels into the air cascading around the pair causing Alec to let out a cry of pain as the beast threw it’s head to the tree shrouded sky and let out an exultant roar of delight and victory at the change the fight had taken.

  18. As Alec and Kumatetsu twirled in circles locked in each others embrace the moment seemed to last an eternity to the large Tank. Finally managing to find a gap in the bear like creatures grip Alec placed both hands against it’s massive chest with both hands and shoved with all his considerable might. The enormous beast didn’t budge at all but the heavily muscled Tank managed to break free of it’s grip only to end up hurtling trough the air as if shot from a cannon, his arms and legs flapping uselessly in the air as he flew. Kumatetsu lunged after the airborne Tank swinging its mighty paw at the flying foe. As it’s claws raked across Alec’s flesh the Tank managed to swing his shield around slicing the beast with its razor like edge. As Alec landed tumbling to a stop he felt a familiar and welcomed warmth spread through his body as Humphrey sent wonderful healing energies into him nearly restoring him to full health as he rolled to his feet his shield held before him.

  19. The giant bear like creature Kumatetsu landed a massive blow the Alec digging it’s huge claws into the Tank’s shoulder below his heavy armor plates leaving a series of giant rends in Alec’s flesh that jetted red pixels. Alec gritted his teeth and set his jaw as he inhaled through his nose and out his mouth trying to regain his composure. This wasn’t any where near how he had thought this fight would go but he would play the hand he was dealt and trudge on. He had to beat this foe or there was no going forward, no going home, no seeing Gwen and Danny. Alec drew his arm back for another swing as he tried to activate a Sword Art yet again and again he was denied as he swung forward Kumatetsu stepped forward as well and instead of the pair hitting each other they ended up in a massive and uncomfortable bear hug embrace. Both parties fought to break free of the other and twisted but in their awkwardness turned in matching directions and only succeeded in turning around in each others arms like an intimate couple dancing in the clearing.

  20. The fight was halfway over Alec thought to himself as he readied himself to try and hit the beast Kumatetsu for the first time. Why wasn’t this working? Alec pondered to himself as he chewed upon his lower lip. He had had plenty of fights where his hits were not many but rarely if ever had he gone so long without connecting at least once with his opponent. Maybe he was doing something wrong, or he had changed his settings somehow. Was that even possible? He continued to wonder. Maybe it was just he had taken too much time off and was rusty or there was some sort of negative effect applied to him for being stagnant for too long. Who knew? Only thing he did know was that he didn’t know. After his inner confusion and self searching the large Tank tried yet again to activate a Sword Art and hit the beast for a change, but as Alec tried to activate his Sword Art mid swing the system once more denied his attempt causing him to miss again. Kumatetsu was under no such restrictions though and lashed out with a thunder paw strike. Alec raised his shield up to block but the beats paw wrapped over the top of his shield as it’s massive claws sank deeply into Alec’s shoulder leaving a series of deep gouges and dropping his health bar.

  21. Alec readied himself for another swing of his Forearm Axe after several deep calming breaths the large heavily muscled Tank felt ready to strike. As he yet again tried to activate his Sword Arts he was frustratingly denied once again. Was there a glitch in the system today? Alec thought to himself as his once more slowed swing swept out and Kumatetsu easily and laughingly swayed back and out of the way of the strike. Alec would have to ask one of the younger people he knew who more about computers than he did. It seemed odd that he had yet to activate a Sword Art this fight much less land a single solitary hit on the beast. As Alec stood confused about the situation his bear like combatant Kumatetsu swung around with another massive swipe of its oversized paw. The large Tank easily brought his shield up in the way of the strike and knocked it wide of himself receiving only the tiniest of scratches from the creature as once more the razor sharp thorns edging his shield did their job and sliced into Kunatetsu. As the beast recoiled its body began to roil and shift as it swelled and became even larger. Glancing up Alec noticed that his opponent was down to half its health. So….phase two. Alec thought to himself with a smile.

  22. Alec fought and strained his muscles bulging against the effects of the massive bear like creature Kumatetsu’s Paralyzing Ferocious Roar. Still Alec’s body remained locked and rigid refusing his commands and desires. As the effecrs of the latest roar wore off Alec finished his stand stood eyeing the beast as he shifted his weight and prepared for another swing of his Forearm Axe. As Alec once more tried to activate a Sword Art and fail he swung out slowed and lethargic from some many Paralyzes. Kumatetsu easily swayed out of the way of the ineffective and lethargic attack. As the beast brought its clawed paw around for it’s own attack Alec raised his shield and deflected the blow high and wide of his body. Stepping back the large man took a series of deep relaxing breaths to steady his nerves and his mind as he tried to center himself and ready himself for another attack which he hoped deeply he’d finally be able to connect with.

  23. Paralyzed again Alec thought to himself as he knelt on the ground before the giant bear like beast Kumatetsu and fought and willed as he could Alec still could not move a muscle. It felt as if the giant beast was playing with him as a cat would a mouse. Luckily for Alec he was a tough mouse and not one easily damaged. As Alec knelt his shield held before him the great beast Kumatetsu lashed out once more. It’s boulder sized paw raised at a painstakingly slow pace as Alec watched before it came falling down like an avalanche. Thankfully Alec’s shield was partly raised and caught the edge of Kumatetsu’s paw is it struck. The massive claws raking across the Tanks hardened skin nicking him and leaving a mark barely worth being called a scratch as the razor sharp edges of Alec’s shield sliced into the meat of the bear’s arm slicing deeply into the flesh beneath leaving another bright red streak across it’s body.

  24. Alec lay prone and defenseless on the ground his muscles and body frozen in place from the giant bear like creature Kumatetsu’s latest Paralyzing Roar. Once more the large man found himself trapped within the confines of his own body a prisoner within his virtual meat shell. Alec continued to strain and struggle to will his body to move as the beast Kumatetsu lowered itself once more to all four legs. Finally the heavily muscled Tank began to gain feeling in his extremities. Fingers, toes, arms legs. As Alec regained control he began to stand up but the giant beast would have non of that as it let out yet another hellish roar causing the entire world around Alec to  shake and quaver at the rumbling roar. As Alec rose to his knees with one leg bent ready to rise his body froze and locked again Paralyzing the large man in place in a one legged kneel as if ready to be knighted by a king.

  25. Another attack from the large Tank Alec and another miss as his once more slowed swing was easily side stepped by the beast. As the bear like creature shifted its weight Alec became over balanced due to the effort he had put into his last attack causing him to flail and stumble tripping over his own feet and toppling to the dirt of the forest in a pile of his own arms and legs. Thankfully his weapon and shield were firmly affixed to his body so there was no chance of loosing them in any of Alec’s many tumbles and spills he’d taken since he ended up trapped here in this virtual world. Never in his whole life had he been as clumsy as he was here. Kumatetsu took the advantage given to it by the large mans blunder and reared up onto it’s hind legs letting out another forest rattling roar that shook the trees and the very ground Alec was lying atop of. The roar coursed through Alec’s body locking him in place on the ground Paralyzing him once more.
