Well, the shop was now open, and she needed to start to get things on the shelves to sell. But she also needed to level up the skill so that she can try and make better items. She wanted to be able to make jewelry, but right now, she could only do trinkets. Grabbing a couple of materials, she sat down at her work station and started to slowly chip away at things. After a few hours of working on the first piece of materials, it disappeared. She failed that craft miserably, so much so that she lost the material. Well, that's a great start... Pushing that failure off to the side, she grabbed the next material and set to work on the next one. Another two hours went by, and soon enough, she had herself an uncommon item sitting in front of her.

It looked like a simple little ball, something that had a lid and dirt or something could be put inside of it. Mainly like a little keepsake. Either way, that was a good start to her new craft at least. That was enough for the day, so there was no need to fully worry.

She knew that the NPC Blacksmith had a quest for them. In fact, he had the quest ready for them when they turned in the first beginner quest. But both Noct and Koga had the bright idea of wanting to gain their professions first. It had been something about when they kill things and get tier one materials, they didn't feel like they were holding onto useless things. Much like she still feels about herself. It wasn't really that long after Koga's profession quest. The thought of him nearly dying was still fresh in her mind. Even as she thought about this, she looked at Jack's Graceful Repose and sighed. This was truly cursed, and it showed that day for sure. But, it was her best weapon, so there was no way that she wasn't going to use it. But, pushing those thoughts out of her mind, she opened her messages and quickly sent one to Koga.

With that sent out and on its way to Koga, she settled herself against the wall and thought. She had put some skill points into the First Aid skill, but hadn't told Koga yet. She wanted to be of more help, and really, with him nearly dying, this was how she was going to accomplish that. "Stop thinking on it Noct, it's in the past..." Calling herself Noct or Noctua was starting to become second nature. She used to slip up and attempt to use her real name, but not anymore.

Cool, they all had made a plan of action, now here was hoping this wasn't going to be the one time that she actually does some decent damage on something. That would be horrible now wouldn't it? She was happy being lost in her thoughts on what she should make when they got back to town. At least until, "Not one of many words are we? Hey, with all of us here you won't have to worry about anything. If that's it. You just stay behind Lonzo okay." She looked over at him just in time to see him wink at her, and that was when her instincts took over. She stopped walking for a moment and moved right behind Koga, as if she was hiding. In reality, she probably was, but at the same time, she was confused as to what was going on. Is he flirting with me? Is that what it looks like? What in the world is even happening...

Yet again, social ques and talk didn't register in her brain properly, but she was just going to contently stay right behind Koga. That felt safe. The conversation strayed away from her once more and she let out a small breath as she walked while picking at her nails. Nervous ticks, weren't they wonderful? "Hey, you two really know each other huh? Related or something else? You know what I mean?" Okay, that one didn't confuse her as much as the previous statement did, at least, not while she was still trying to figure things out in her mind the entire time. So, she looked at Koga for a moment before looking at Lonzo. "Well...um..we..." What should I say? Wait..what if..? "We are getting married." With that, her face flushed to a deep red color as she started to pick at her nails more.

Huh, so they were going to be walking that road. Some not so good memories tried to show up but she ignored them. But there was still the fact that she was the lowest level among everyone in the party at the moment. This was going to prove to be...would interesting be the correct word for this? She didn't think so, but she wasn't about to back out after promising to help. Promises weren't meant to be broken after all. She did notice how Nora left room for her to follow after Koga for him to lead the way. She silently followed for now. Sure, she kind of knew them, but it was still hard being social when you don't really know someone. Or you just feel like an odd person in a party. Social anxieties, they were fun weren't they. Either way, she made sure that Graceful Repose was equipped before this lovely adventure was to start.

So, Lonzo was a cook, but then, she knew that from the tavern meeting that happened not too long ago. But Nora was a performer? She didn't exactly peg the girl for being that, but then, it was hard to peg anyone to being one such thing. Feeling that the question was waiting on her to answer, she broke her bit of silence finally. "Artisan." Okay Noct, what happened? You were more social earlier? Perhaps it was the worry of being the level she was. That fear of holding the group back was starting to get to her, again. This was going to be an interesting quest wasn't it?

He almost died, because I couldn't manage to hit a darned thing...I can't even heal... She hadn't even heard Koga run to her until she felt his arms around her. Wait...his arms around her? What was going on? Wait, was he crying? Sure they had made the deal to open a shop together once they both had their professions, but she didn't think that warranted a crying hu- "Don't go, I don't wanna be alone anymore. I don't wanna be on my own again." That was when it clicked in her mind. She was more than just a business partner to him, she was a friend. Of course, she thought of him the same, which was shy the decision to do anything had been hard. Upon this realization, she wrapped her arms around him and rested her head against his chest. She stood like that for a moment, before she froze and realized what was happening. That was when she started to turn red with a blush.

"I won't, I promise." That was something that she was never going to break a promise, and now, even a party with him if he didn't want to break it. Why bother? With all of the stuff that they were already doing together, they might as well stay in the party. After a few more moments, she moved from the hug, her face still flushed, and possibly a tear stain on her cheek. But that was neither here nor there at this point. "S-so, got all of your materials?" She was hoping it was a yes, because she wasn't in the mood to fight anything anymore, and she didn't want to chance him getting hurt again. Not while she couldn't find a way to help.

Wolves

She seemed to distract the wolf long enough for Koga to be able to use a sword art on it. She watched as the status effects appeared next to it's name. She sighed, but knew that the battle wasn't over just yet. She went to use her basic attack on the wolf, but, like the rest of this fight, she missed. The tip of her rapier touched the ground as she watched the wolf's name disappear from her sight. That meant that Koga's DoTs finished it off. Knowing that the danger was now gone, for now at least, she slumped to the ground and just stared at it. "I-i'm so sorry..." But even as she said the words, she shook her head at herself before standing back up. She put her rapier back on her hip, and was honestly about to leave the party. She knew that he would be better off on his own at this point. He would have ran if it weren't for the fact that she had been there holding him back.

But on the other hand, she didn't want to leave him. She was torn. Part of her wanted to revert back to her normal nature, the shy and flightly person who didn't stay in one place for long, and the person who seems to have been able to make a friend. What do I do...

The wolf seemed to enjoy clawing Koga's chest. Of course, it acted like she wasn't even here, and with how she has been doing, she basically wasn't here. She hasn't landed single hit, and well, that was starting to actually get to her. What good was she going to be if she couldn't even hit something? No, she wasn't going to believe that she was actually useless. No, she was useful, she just needed to try harder. They got through her own profession quest. She killed all the things then. She could hit something now too damn it! So, with her gaze fully fixated on the wolf, she charged her basic attack and went for it. There was a fire like gleam in her eye at the moment, the kind of look that said that she was getting fed up and tired of this wolf dodging every little thing.

There was no way that he was going to dodge this one, for the moment he moved off of Koga, her rapier stabbed right into it's shoulder. She didn't do a lot of damage, which was reasonable seeing her level and his health, but she succeeded in showing that the wolf could be harmed, even if little by little. But the wolf didn't like this stab, even though it probably felt like a pin prick to him. But the alpha turned and went to lunge at Noct. It's movements were still slowed a bit though from her hitting him, which allowed her the time to dodge out of the way of it's attack. There was no time for celebration in her eyes at the moment, for it was still alive.

She just stared at him, unable to really say anything. Here he was, trying to nap apparently, she comes along and apparently ruins that. Who in the world would even want to nap out here anyways?! That was the first thought that came to her mind, but she brushed it off. He managed to one shot kill one of the boars, but that didn't stop the feeling of rage that was coursing through her. Of course, she didn't even know if it was rage at the boars, herself, or him. But there was rage there. So, with her sights set on the remaining boar, she used a basic attack on him, and was actually surprised when it hit. She watched as the status effects from her rapier showed up on the boars health, as well as it losing some of it health. There, hit the boar, and not the person who basically wanted to use you as a guard while he napped. That was a logical reaction, right?

She watched the alpha wolf claw into Koga's chest. Panic coursed through her system as she watched his health go from yellow to red. The panic that was in her system made her lose her concentration for a moment, at least until she heard Koga. "It's now or never Noctua!" Right, now or never. Let's do this. She started to charge her Ripe Ravine and just as she used the attack, the Alpha must have sensed her movement, because it moved out of the way right in time. Wait, that meant, that she missed once more. But the worse news, the alpha wolf didn't seem to miss a beat as it went right for Koga once more. So, here was Koga, literally getting his ass kicked by wolves, and she was getting her ass kicked by whatever curse had been placed upon her. Thankfully though, Koga had used a health potion. Bad news, she was a useless partner right now.

Wait, hold on. Was he..he was. He was laying down while she attempted to fight?! What in the world was going on right now? Even as she thought this, the two boars seemed to beeline right for him. One seemed to hit him in the gut right as he fell asleep while the other was dodged away from. She grumbled something under her breath to herself before she ran up the hill charging her basic attack once more. But there was a slight problem, the hill was a hill. Her momentum stopped and as soon as she went to hit the first boar, it was easily able to dodge her attack. With a sigh she backed away from the boars and looked at the weapon. She was having no luck with this, perhaps it's curse was making her miss every hit she wanted to make. She looked at Yukiro, and would have asked him if he was okay, but right now, he didn't warrant that question after falling asleep and leaving her alone with two boars.

She missed, she seems to do nothing but miss with this new weapon. She knew that it was cursed, but she didn't think that it was going to make her miss every darned hit. Keeping her head grounded and eve, she watched as Koga held the wolf off. She was grateful that he was still alive, but she feared what another hit might do to him. His health was already low enough, but then, so was her own health. This was just something that was going really horrible really fast. It was aggravating and annoying. "How's it comin' Noct?!" He yelled this to her right as the alpha went into for another attack, only this one managed to hit him. No, no, no, no.... She shook her head and started to watch her energy closely. "Almost there. Just a few more seconds." Don't you dare die on me Koga...

She could have sworn that she could feel the hate that the wolf had for her shift to Koga. This was a silent blessing and curse. Blessing, because he had more health than her, but curse because he has already been getting his ass kicked by the other two wolves. This needed to end and soon. But still armed with just a basic attack, she could really do nothing. So, as she went to charge for her basic, she moved to hit the wolf, only to narrowly miss it by it lunging at Koga for it's own attack. Damn, damn, damn, damn! She was going to have to recharge her energy to possibly be of any use at this point. Taking a look at Koga's health, she had only one course of action really. "Koga, can you keep him busy? I want to recharge." If he said no, then she would attack, if he said yes, then she was going to wait until her energy was full. It all depended on how comfortable he felt.

"Uh, you, you didn't mean...you know what, nevermind. Uh, oh hey look! That's the place I think!" Wait... hold on, what did she say to make him turn red? She had to take a few moments to actually think on what she said before she squeaked, turning bright red herself. "N-no! I-i um... y-you know..." Noct, honey, that is not helping your case what so ever, and she realized this fast as she just shut her mouth and kept walking. She tried to keep her gaze in front of her, mainly because she was now in a state of awkward embarrassment. She didn't mean to imply anything with what she said, and well, that was how it came out it seemed.

And this, is why you have no friends. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK CHRISTELLE! She hadn't realized that Koga was sprinting until he was almost at the shop. She squeaked again before she ran to catch up to him, panting by the time she got there. She watched as Koga handed Tealeaf the package, and soon enough, the quest completed message flashed. Turning to look at Koga, her face turned red again, only lighter and not so bright and noticeable this time. "I um... th-thank you." She absolutely couldn't think of anything else to say to him after her slip up just mere moments before with her words.

She accepted the party invite when it was tossed at her, and started to wonder slightly what she might have just gotten herself and Koga into, again. There was the fact that she still wasn't completely sure of Lonzo, but that wasn't something to dwell on for now. She would have verbally seconded Koga's allergy to fetch quests, but she didn't exactly get that chance. But that was okay. Instead, she listened to the quest that Lonzo had grabbed. Nepents, she didn't fully know what kind of creature that was, but she was certain that she would find out soon enough really. Knowing her luck, they would be fighting a lot of them. At least she now had Graceful Repose on her hip. It has proven useful a lot lately, but it was just missing that little boost in accuracy. But that was something that was easily lived without when the DoTs from the weapon could kill a turn later, depending on the health that the creature was to have left.

Oh right, potions and stuff like that. She had a few still, so she figured that she was going to be set on that little factor. "I still have potions." She looked at Koga, figuring that he had some left over as well. But when Nora asked if she or Koga had been there before, she shook her head. She hadn't for sure, but she also couldn't speak for Koga. He did go exploring a bit more than she did. "I haven't." Dear Noct, learn to talk more. You might make a few more friends that way. These were things that she thought to herself before she slept for the night, and yet here she was, still shy as ever. At least she wasn't asking horribly embarrassing questions. Having that downfall of her social awkwardness would be a horrible thing in deed.

Thankfully, they both finished their craft, and on the first try too. This made her happy as all holy heck, because that meant that the quest was just one step closer. Though, she wouldn't admit it out loud, she wished that they could have kept the potions that they created. They would help them later one. But, oh well. Just as she got up to leave, she heard the dreaded words. The words that said that their quest wasn't completed yet, which would explain why that didn't flash for her. If she would have been sitting still, she would have dropped her head on the crafting table. But alas, she wasn't, so she opted for an inward sigh instead. Hopefully, this was going to be the end of it though.

Koga was the one to answer Zakariah and all she did was a weak little nod. But even Koga was sounded defeated at this point, and that wasn't going to do. So, as they walked, she looked at him and thought for a moment. Hmm... aha! She had a great idea, something that might hopefully cheer him up a little bit. "Okay, so after we finish this. What is your plan? Like I feel like a long bath is in need." Of course, as she said that, she didn't really think on the words, but to someone who wasn't so socially awkward, that might not be how she wanted it to sound. But, not knowing anything on this, she just kept walking beside Koga, waiting for his answer.

She agreed with him on the no fighting. She was tired of fighting today, really she was. Thankfully, it was something that can tire a person out. All she wanted to do now was turn this quest in then go and take a long bath before passing out. She watched as he went to grab something, her hand firmly on the hilt of her rapier, just waiting to defend him while he hunted. But thankfully, nothing came, and he showed the final material that he needed for the quest. "Oh thank god." She let out a sigh that not only said that she was tired of this quest, but just plain tired in general. Now, it was just the walk back to town that they had to worry about.

She had gotten distracted though by the setting sun and the effect that it was creating on the sky. To her, it really was breath taking. She looked at him though when he beckoned to finish the quest and she nodded. "Yes, being back in town and being able to relax a little bit sounds like a grand plan." Of course, that meant no more pretty sunset, but right now, that was a sacrifice that she was willing to make.

"Ah, you've returned!" Yes, they were back in Zakariahs's shop and the sound in the NPC's voice nearly had her groaning. This wasn't done was it? "Come, come, why don't you help me a little longer and craft a healing potion." Damn it. She sighed and pushed the thoughts of a bath to the side as she settled beside Koga to start working on this potion. "Why do I get the feeling that we won't ever be done?" There was a lightness in her voice saying that she was attempting humor, but it was also sounding tired. Much like she was. But, she got to work on this potion that Zakariah wanted them to create, and surprisingly, on her first try, she made one. "Well very nice. I'll take this. Thank you for the help." She looked over at Koga then to see how he was coming along with his own potion.

He was rooting for her. It was a nice thing really, and it did give her a nice amount of confidence. "Right, let's work on allowing me to laugh at RNG then." There was a small smile on her face as she attempted to craft this trinket that she wanted once more. But it failed, again. But, she didn't get disappointed this time, instead, she gained more determination. Pushing aside the failed attempt, she grabbed a silver ingot and started to chip away at it. After maybe two hours of work, she finally had a completed project. The NPC came over and looked at it and nodded. "That is a perfect trinket if I have ever seen one. Well done and welcome to the Artisan ranks." With that, the quest showed completed before it disappeared and she looked at Koga happily. "Let's go get you some food now."

She had a vague feeling that she knew that she was signing up for a friendship that she could work with, but she wasn't about to say this out loud. She did smile though and she nodded as they started walking back to town. At least he seemed to have the same idea that she did. This way, there was less of a chance of running into a monster, and more of a chance of finding a material. He only needed the one if she recalled, so it really shouldn't be too horrible to find it. But then again, their luck today has been crap, so perhaps it was going to be difficult. "That sounds like a golden plan. Less chances of another fight." This was something that she was sure he was going to agree with, so there was that positiveness that they could share.

She looked up at the sky though and noticed that the sun was starting to set. While she knew what it looked like from the town, seeing it out here in the wild was different. It seemed to be more free here, more colorful. "That's beautiful..." She didn't even register the words leaving her mouth as she watched the sky as they walked.

Failure. Try again. Failure. Try again. Failure. There seemed to be no actual win to this. She put her head in her hands to take a moment and breath. She wanted to figure out what she might be doing wrong to mess this craft up. It should be simple. Hell, she even felt like the NPC was boring dagger like holes into her with his eyes. She nearly jumped though when she felt Koga's hand on her shoulder and she looked at him. he had a point, RNG sucked, and right now, it seemed to royally suck. Or just hate her. Could RNG just hate her? But, still she nodded and sighed lightly. "Right RNG...sucks. Are you sure it's not hatred?" Okay, Noct, you need to get these thoughts out of your mind. Instead, just focus on the craft. Attempt again. You can do it. That kind of stuff right?

Another wolf was down, for the moment it went to attack Koga again, it was gone. Thank god for those status effects. But there was still the problem of the alpha wolf, who seemed to be having a staring contest with Noctua at the moment. "Just one more, Noct!" He was right, there was only the one left. But this one had more health and seemed to just not want to die. But then again, neither did Noct. She charged her basic attack for a moment, but just as she went to attack the alpha, he went to attack her, but his missed wide because of her being able to dodge it. Her dodge caused her attack to miss as well, but, at least there was no damage done to herself of Koga this time.

Oh thank god, he killed the last boar. She sat down for a moment to catch her breath and to relax a bit. Honestly, who wouldn't need to relax after that fight? She watched as her health bar started to regenerate and she sighed. But it was Koga's comment that made her give him a pointed look. "And leave you alone out here while things are apparently hunting in groups. Nope, not going to happen. You're stuck with me." That was possibly a bit more forceful than he's seen her since they met, but she wasn't about to let him run off on his own in search of a single material that might take him a few more hours to find. Nope, not after the fight that they just did, that wouldn't be the best option. So, instead, she rose back to her feet and walked over to him.

"Alright, lead the way." She smiled then as she waited on him to start his search once more. Heck, they could even start heading back to town and see if he could find one that way. There was bound to be some somewhere, right?
