Shye

Galiliea was keen. She must know the skills in the game better than Shye does. The only reason she bought the Gatherer skill was cause she knew she would be gathering a lot for her profession. It wasn't just gathering though, it was also the rank she put into Searching.

"Well since I intended to be making a lot of potions, I figure it was smart to collect as many materials as possible and-" She was cut off when she found a large clump of materials ripe for picking. She slid over and scooped them up, moving all four of them into her inventory. "And I'm starting to enjoy material gathering now. I used to be so bad at it!" She giggled. Thinking about her brothers joke with putting her in this game, she was sure he wouldn't have done it if he knew that it was a death game.

"My brother likes to pull harmless little pranks on me cause he knows how timid I can be. He had me calibrate the Nervegear thing and activated it while I had it on my head. Then I couldn't figure out how to leave. I don't blame him. He couldn't have known or even wanted something like this to happen."

It was nice to see that her guild mates were so nice. No one here was really mean or anything, or judged her. Though, she wondered how Galilea would react if she told her about her being an absolute noob.

"Well, Mari brought it up to me first, but then I happened to meet Shield. He persuaded me to join the guild since I was going the healer route. After that, I met Calrex after I joined the guild and now you. I'm probably the weakest of everyone in the guild since I'm barely breaking double digit levels." The girl giggled thinking about that. She really was the weakest of all of them, but she wasn't that worried about it just yet. "I guess Shield really wanted to help me since I'm extremely timid and... uh... I've um, never played a video game in my life. The only reason I'm here is because some pretty unfortunate prank that wasn't meant with as much ill-intent."

Seeing as how she was the most experienced with the quest subject, it would be best if she took the lead. While they were walking, she took off her headphones and handed them over to Astralin and gave her a smile.

"Here, you don't have to wear them, but as long as you're wearing these, you'll always have a little better of luck trying to find the materials that you need to complete the quest. It can be kind of annoying to do since some times the game like to play tricks on you and not spawn materials for some time." When they arrived at Zachriah's shop, he led her through the quest details and told her to find him what he needed. After that, she continued to lead Astralin out of the safe zone.

"Here we are. Go ahead and start looking around. I'd help, but the system won't let you use materials I send you for the quest."

Shye watched from the sidelines as the tanks did their work. If they weren't here, she would surely be terrified for her life. With two heavy friends absorbing the damage for her, it was nice to know that she would be safe as possible. She decided not to attack this round, her damage was pretty much inconsequential with her level, and it seems like her weaker damage over time effect had over written the pink haired one's.

There was only one more monkey remaining, and she knew already that there was going to be yet another swarm in the castle to chase her around like last time, this time around however, she was going to look for some materials whilst they fought. She needed to get her potion shop open already and make healing crystals for everyone in the guild. It was pretty much half of her effectiveness as a healer anyway.

The girl listened quietly, making sure not to interrupt Galilea while she spoke. A damage/healer type hunh? Shye was going more defense to stay alive, so being able to make overhealth potions and likewise were essential. Not to mention making buffs for Shield and the others with her crafts.

"If you're a damage healer, I guess you could consider me the opposite to you. I'm playing it safe with being able to take hits while I'm healing. I don't like to participate in combat, because I'm somewhat of a scaredy-cat to be honest. I'll let everyone else focus the front while I support them!" She said happily, noticing a large cluster of more materials sticking out of a bush. She rushed over and collected them quickly. Already she had hit her mark for the quest.

"That's done. But I think I should focus on collecting some more materials before starting a shop. Why don't we stick around and collect some for awhile and talk!"

The girl took a step back as someone nearly ran into her. A purple haired girl with some red markings on her face. A bit of an odder one in the game than she is used to.

"H-Hey there, are you- No, Oikawa is a guy. Did Oikawa send you?" She asked. Scrolling through the names of all the Jacob's Ladder members, she realized that she had missed one person's name. "You are either... Beat, or Galilea. I'm pretty sure that Beat is a guy as well, so you must be Galilea. Well, nice to meet you! I'm a newer player to the game and looking to grab a profession. Since I want to be a healer, I'm going to be taking the Alchemist route. I hear it's really helpful for healing after all." Shye began to lead them out of the city and into the field. It shouldn't take her long to find materials this time.

Once they stepped outside the city, there was a bundle of three materials laying directly next to the safe zone edge. This new skill was already making life insanely easier.

On Floor One again and doing this quest once more. Her friend, the pink haired tank, had needed to do something urgent, so Shye was forced to abandon the last time, but this time she was properly equipped and ready. Though, it might be lonely to go out and gather on her own. She opened up the Jacob's Ladder menu, showing the names of all their players listed out neatly. This would be a great chance for her to meet someone new, and to get this quest done once and for all. She looked through the names, noticing that there were only two people that she had yet to meet so far, Oikawa and Beat. Oikawa was a familiar name. She clicked on his name and started to compose him a message.

And with that finished, the message was sent.

The healer watched from the back as the pink haired tank unleashed some extremely well made attacks, causing all her targets to bleed. The only thing she was good for in a combat situation was causing targets to bleed and since the both of them were bleeding, she wondered if her attacking would even do anything useful. Well, she was still learning so she needed to keep active. Shield would probably like it if she kept working on herself.

The girl snuck up behind the still stable monkey that the paladin had thrown around, readied her needle and jabbed into it's neck. The needle would have caused the bleed effect, but the other girl's enhancements overpowered her own. Still she was glad that her attacks were getting better. She took a moment to check if either of them needed the healing, but it looked like all of them were at full health.

Shye watched as the two bickered about tank mechanics. Yuki must have been someone Shield was training, but they weren't apart of Jacob's Ladder. They were in a different Guild that she didn't recognized the symbol. Though to be fair, the only guild she knew about was Jacob's Ladder. Well, with that arguement out of the way, Shye decided it was time for her to get back to work with her needles. That was until someone needed healing. She moved around the battlefield trying to get behind enemy lines.

Soon, her needle found another target, one without the bleed effect. That was until her needle pierced it's neck. The bleed icon popped up underneath it's health bar and she backed up to make sure that they wouldn't look at her for what she had done to them. She was starting to wonder if she should take ranks in weapon skill with her dumb luck constantly proving critical hits.

Shye huddled in fear as one of the monkeys nearly clawed her face off. When she opened her eyes, Yuki was there with a big bright smile. "Don't worry, I got your back, and so does Shield! We wont let these stupid things touch ya!" Shye gave her a slight smile, and grabbed one of her needles.

"Thanks! You and Shield are such great tanks, protecting your healer who you is kind of just a tag along at this point... Still! I'll do the best I can for you guys!" Shye maneuvered around the battlefield as slyly as she could get away with. When she found her target, she crept up behind it and dug her needle into the back of its neck. As usual one damage, but the bleed effect still applied to the creature at least. The critical hit made the monkey turn to her pretty quickly, however.

"Uh.. It wasn't me I swear-" She said backing up away from the mob.

She was worried like always, but Shield's company was good. It was hard to feel unsafe in his presence.

"Only for the witch. I can help you guys fight the flying monkeys, then like last time I can explore the castle and find Shield chests to open." She smiled at him, remembering the chest that she had found originally. She would have to check that closet again, just to make sure. "It's hard not to feel safe with two tanks in your party. Especially when you guys are paired with a healer."

"Well, it's settled then. Shield, lead us off mister guild master. I'll be right behind you, and make sure this one doesn't get in trouble." The paladin smirked to them both while Aki took a comfy seat on the pink nest of hair it called home. Shye gave him a smile and a nod. She was ready to get this quest done as quickly as possible again.

Shye wanders behind the paladin for some time, making sure that she stayed the course towards the castle where the witch would spawn. According to Shield, the witch wasn't supposed to respawn in the castle after you complete the quest. That was true, however, if all party members had already completed the quest. This girl, a tank like Shield, had yet to do so, meaning the witch would be there again and she would have to dodge more evil monkeys while they did there thing.

Upon meeting with Shield, Shye offered him a wave. The gryphon the pink tank had brought with her went to bug him. He must know this person pretty well if her familiar knows him.

"H-Hey Shield. Glad to see you again, but a little annoying to be doing this quest again, of all quests. I met Calrex the other day, he's part of the guild too, so I thought I'd introduce myself to him, after nearly knocking him over..."

Chelsea watched as Shield popped open the lid of the chest, the contents looked a little better than average and she had helped him find something that he said he might use so that was nice at least. She helped fight enemies, successfully hid from detection and was able to sniff out a chest in the process! Perhaps she wasn't that bad of a traveling companion. Shield was right when he said being afraid is useful. If she was fearless, she might have tried to take on that horde of enemies and died getting over zealous.

The contents were nice and Shield would allow her to have the remaining items from the chest. Great! She reached over and accepted all the items that Shield was leaving to her and smiled at him. "Yay, maybe I'm not all that useless! I'm glad that I was able to find something like a chest all on my own! And I was able to completely evade combat. Don't the front lines have something called scouts? They look for the boss room and explore new floors, right? Maybe I should looking into joining them when I reach a decent enough level."

The hallway was finally quiet. When Shield's voice called to the girl, there was a pause of silence, then the sounding a click behind one of the doors that slowly creaked open. The tank could see his companion's deep red hair peak out from the dark room while she inspected the area to ensure it was safe. Once she caught sight of Shield, the door opened up carefully, creaking to a close behind her. The chest that she had mentioned finding was strapped to her back.

"H-Hey. Glad to see you're okay. Do you need any healing?" She knew the answer to that question, but she still wanted to ask it to be sure. A slight worry peered in her eyes while she checked to make sure that he was alright. "Oh, here's that chest." Shye placed the wooden frame on the ground for her companion to take a look at. He would have a better time opening it than her.

Shye looked down at her feet while she listed to Calrex speak. With a quiet sigh she looked back up to him. "It's not just that though, I have been prone to anxiety attacks since I was young. It really tolls the brain, and even if I learn to control my fits, I could still easily break down in combat. I'm afraid that me being unsure of myself will get someone killed. I'll hesitate...And they'll be gone..."

Her mind seemed to trail off again, like the scene was playing out in her mind. Her breathing went uneven again, her breaths got deeper in and out. More breathing techniques were getting her through the ordeal it seemed. "O-Oh sorry. I apologize too much, I know... I just don't want to see anyone die... That's why I want to be a really strong healer, so I'll never have to see someone die!"

As Calrex was gearing up to leave, the redhead stopped him. "W-Wait Cal, we're not finished yet! I have to make sure it dropped the quest item or else I can't turn it in!" She said moving around his form and looking for the item cube that was supposed to drop through the cloud of blue shards that littered the area. Sure enough it was there. She opened it up and found the Ovule inside.

"Okay! We got it. We actually can leave." She said moving the item to her inventory and returning to his side. "I-I'm sorry again about that out break. It's...difficult to control some time. I don't think I want to be questing alone at all, so I'm glad I found a guild so willing to help me get stronger. You, Shield and Mari are all really nice to someone as hopeless as me. I don't know if I deserve such great guild mates to be honest."

The timid redhead watched the Nepent writhe in pain from her blow. Was she really that much stronger than she thought? This was supposed to be a strong field boss, she thought. Well, she was glad that she had brought someone along with her. If she didn't, things could have gotten out of hand. Note to self: Don't Quest Alone.

The girl moved closer behind Calrex as the Nepent lifted its vine to whip one of the two. As it connected with the ground next to him, she let out a small yelp and jumped from the sound. Come on Chelsea, gather yourself. The girl saw it's health tick down and nearly kill it. They needed to loot the beast for a item, so best to pull out her headphones.

She reached into her makeup box and pulled out a set of fold-in headphones. Removing her weapon from the equipment slots and replacing it with that. With them firmly placed on her head, she was ready to try for the drop once it was finished.

A moment of careful breathing. She did what her mother taught her to control her attacks. Keep breathing stable and take deep breaths. Stable and slow. Ten slow seconds went by as Calrex kept the enemy distracted enough for her to regain herself.

"S-Sorry, anxiety attacks can be a problem sometimes." She stated giving Cal a smile. Once the Nepent was on the ground, healer took her time and walked up to the giant plant. A needle slid into her hand with a quick jab it was embedded deep into the plants skin(?) The needle was wedged so deep that it quiet literally went all the way in. That couldn't feel good, the was for sure.

"It's bleeding, it'll die in a little if you happen to miss it." She stated, backing up behind him. She looked fine now, her breathing was still a little worrying but she was keeping under control to the best of her abilities.

The message box chimed when she was about to unlock the door. Thankfully, nothing was around to hear her jiggle the lock when she did it. She pulled her menu back open and looked to see what was going on with him. Stay where she was? He must be close to being done then. Would it be safe to remain in this closet though? Well, it was safer than behind that statue since she could keep the door locked and warn Shield if she was in trouble if someone tried to enter before teleporting. 

She rested the chest the she was carrying on the ground and took a seat on the wooden frame. Another minute or two was all it would take for him to finish up. Better send him a message to confirm the plan.

Shye stood up from her seat and offered the other girl help up. She had to keep her smile up for her. Oddly enough, Alisea was a higher level player than her, but seemed like Shye was doing more for her than she was for Shye.

"Keep your head in the clouds but your feet on the ground is what my mother always told me. I have trouble keeping my composure when it comes to desperate situations because... well I'm prone to anxiety attacks. When things get stressful I break down and have an awful time controlling my breathing. As long as we're not fighting anything though, that won't happen." The girl said picking up another material off to the side. "Other than that, I kind of just get scared pretty easily. I've been a timid girl since I was young. My brothers pick on me a lot for being a scaredy-cat."

With a latch of the door and a click of the lock, she was safe behind the wood. Loud roaring of wings soared down the hallway making it hard to hear anything in the room, but it felt like it was tiny. After fumbling around for a while, she hit her hand on a lamp and lit the thing up. The fire was dull in side the glass casing but what was laying on the ground was unmistakable. A chest, like Shield had found in the desert, only purple trimmed with gold around it and kind of small compared to hers. 

"A chest?! I found one!" She opened her message box and pulled up Shield's chat.

She took out a harness that she uses to carry Gaea Foundation and straps it around the chest to turn it into a locked backpack. She could probably stay here a little longer before moving on.

Chest Found!

She wasn't going to spend a lot of time looking around for materials in a place like this, however, she would scoop some up if the chance came. She removed her weapon from her inventory and switched it with the pair of headphones that could boost her luck. If she was going to find anything, it would be easier with her Butterfly Headphones.

As she hurried through the halls of the witches castle, the redhead was nervous. She could hear the wings of the monkeys flapping around the hallways, looking for her.They sounded like they were closing in rather quickly. Quick, time to find another hiding spot before they found her. She swung open a wooden door creaking loudly as she closed it behind her. The idiot henchmen that they were, the monkeys only paraded down the hallway to be a threat.

The room was pitch black, she needed to find a light switch or something...
