  1. Despite the attempts to reach out the familiar's sense of reason, which it had, she was well aware, Hyou merely struggled more, snapping at her owner viciously as it made attempts to break free of the other familiar's grasp.

The moment Hidden mentioned using daggers to fix this problem, Assassin jumped and put herself between Hidden Hyou. "N-No! Don't hurt Hyou! I... I- I want to help her! Hyou is my best friend..." Tears started to meld down her eyes again, shining across the low gleam of the fungi in the cave. "P-Please, can we try and figure something out that won't hurt Hyou? M-Maybe your dagger can scare the creature out of her? Like, just putting it near her might spook it out of her body?"

There had to be another way than just ending her pet's life. Assassin and Hyou had been together for awhile now and she refused to resort to such a thing like murdering her cause she was going a little out of wack.

  2. Umbra darted forward with blinding speed. She didn't realize just how fast another familiar could be compared to her. It's black form in cased Hyou in a prison of dark energy. The purple mist around the cat lingered as she attempted to over power the chains of darkness that were holding it down.

Assassin hurried down to the ground, hoping that her pet would be a little more happy to see her. "H-Hyou! Calm down, it's okay! It's me. You don't have anything to worry about!" She pleaded to her leopard, trying to calm it down enough so that it wouldn't scratch her across the face again. Even still, it tried to do just that as its master leaned into help. Assassin still had some tears in her eyes, but she had at least stopped crying at this point.

"D-Do you know what's going on Nee-chan? You know stuff about this floor more than I do." Assassin asked, looking up to her older sister.

  3. Disbelief and shock covered the young girls face. A home where she wouldn't be pressure by others? A place where she could live peacefully and not be bothered by the mundane need to listen to the caretaker, or get bullied by other children. Tears formed more profound on her face and she actually began to cry, but all in joy.

The scene was touching, but at some point, it would come to an end. Hidden would place the dagger that she had on the wall where she had set something up like a trophy case for the girl's weapons and tell her that it was off limits until she got a little stronger. Although curious to what the dagger might be capable of, she didn't want to make Hidden mad after she had just given her much more than she could have ever asked for.

"I-I want to rest... in my new bed." Assassin says quietly as she climbs into the plain looking bed and rests her head against the pillow. It was a little early in the day, but she had been overwhelmed by the fight earlier, and now this? It was beginning to make her head spin.

  4. Assassin took the lead, running at full speed to catch back up with her rogue familiar. Hyou was a sweetheart when she wasn't defending her master. She couldn't believe that the leopard had just left a reddened mark across her face like that. Although she was still crying a little bit, Assassin wiped the wetness from her eyes and did her best not to look too affected by what was happening.

Hyou was fast, in fact, much faster than she had remembered. Assassin easily outpaced the feline, and that was why she would usually end up taking some time to catch up. Whatever this black smog that was affecting her was, she was becoming more powerful, and a lot faster than she normally was. "Hyou! Wait, don't run away! Its me, Ka- um, I'm mean, uh.. wait! Don't leave me!" She had grown much more attached to the fluffy familiar than she had realized.

  5. Assassin nervously walked through the house, trying to familiarize herself with the place while her sister got into more comfortable clothing. Then she mentioned that one of the rooms was hers. Hers? Hidden had gone out of her way to add a room for her in the house. She couldn't believe it, not until the silver-haired woman opened the door to her would-be room. Only one bed and dresser of her own?

"Th-This is all mine?" She asked as she walked in, opening the draws to confirm that they had been emptied specifically for her. After getting confirmation from Hidden that this room did indeed belong to her. Assassin nearly started to cry. She had spent years sharing a room with 5-10 other orphans. How was she supposed to feel other than completely joyous. Assassin ran over to Hidden and gave her a soft hug. She didn't really say anything, but Hidden could tell that this gesture meant more to her than she could have ever believed.

  6. "You are fun Nee-chan." Assassin said plainly, looking up to her sister with a small smile. "Well, I mean you don't let me get myself hurt while I'm trying to have fun. I like being around you and that is reason enough."

Hyou was more surprised than Umbra might have expected as it took on her form. Her paw had gone right through Umbra's body to no effect and then she sudden'y copied herself into a snow leopard as well. Its head cocked to the side at the shadow being, trying to figure out what it was capable of.

"Hyou?" Assassin asked when Hidden inquired about her odd familiar. "I found her abandoned by her parents in the woods. I wasn't going to leave her there all alone."

From the shadows underneath of the familiar, a violent color of purple emerged. A swirling vortex of dark energy enveloped the big-cat familiar, latching it under its control. Hyou's body glowed with a menacing purple color, and her's expression snarled at the copied familiar. It swiped at Umbra angrily, to no avail. "H-Hyou?! What are you-" Assassin approached her familiar, but clawed at her, leaving a mark on her face. Assassin only took a single point in damage, but she fell to her behind in surprise as her familiar bounded out of the safe zone and into the tunnels of the tenth floor. She looked as though she was about to start bawling.

"H-Hyou? What has gotten into you? What was that? W-Wait!" She cried, tears forming down her cheeks. "N-Nee-chan, what's going on?" She no idea what to do at this point, scared of what might happen if she were to chase the cat down.

  7. Assassin looked along the river. She had really thought that they were going to some kind of nice pond to relax a little, but what she actually got was probably better. A small house, really kind of cute in nature, and not really the kind of place she expected Hidden to own. Her older sister opened the door carefully, proving that it was her own. Assassin peered inside carefully, looking at the small building. Hidden invited her to come inside.

"Um... t-tadaima?" She said quietly as she walked in. It wasn't her house, yet the caregiver at the orphanage would always get mad at her if she entered a house without saying the phrase. Inspecting the building from the inside, it seemed a little bigger than the outside might give it credit. It was cozy and nice. Even though they weren't in a safe zone, she still felt eased enough to remove her cloak and her daggers to her inventory, leaving her in the usual modern-looking clothing. "This is all your place?" She asked, looking through other doors to see what they might hold.

  8. Hearing the familiar voice of her sister, Assassin runs over in the direction of the woman slowing as she realized the figure standing at the teleporter. It was weird to see her without her hood over head, and looking in a good mood at that. She always seemed so grumpy.

"I'm here Nee-chan!" She called out, waving down the silver haired girl with a smile. "I had totally forgotten that you had moved to a different floor. I remembered you saying that you liked it here cause it was quiet so I came here first." Hyou took notice of the little umbra fox and waltz over to inspect it's form. It padded its paws at the shadow-like creature, curious as to what it really was.

"You wanna do something fun? I was getting bored so I came to find you." She asked, finally glad that Hidden was a little more open with her appearance now. It definitely made her easier to talk to.

  9. Floor two. Assassin had spent a good amount of time on this floor by herself when she first started to level up. A lot of time running around and just5 pushing her digital body to it's limits. Hidden was talking about builds and damage, which wasn't something that she herself was really good at determining. If she had to choose what she would like to do, it would be like what the Moretsuna had just performed on them, constant stun lock and immobility.

"Well, I wanna make sure that things can't hurt you, or me. I wanna make them stop attacking so that you can get really easy hits on them. Does that sound cool?" She asked, looking forward as to make a guess to where they were going. "Um... are we going to a lake that we can swim in without the big fishes trying to eat us? I think that would be fun. Or maybe we're just going to fight another meanie?"

  10. Back onto the gloomy floor of 10 where Assassin knew she could likely meet her sister. She knew that she spent a lot of time out here cause it was quiet and away from a lot of the other players, but she still didn't like it. It was scary and unsettling, especially after what that fortune cookie had told her when she was looking for her pet, Hyou. She thought that maybe she could find something cool up here, but ultimately, she chickened out a bit and found Hyou on a lower floor.

The assassin opened her menu carefully and started to type out a message, slowly. "Neechan, im on floor 10. wanna help me do something so i can level up more?" She pushed send to the girl and looked around the safe area settlement on this floor, trying not to attract any unwanted attention from the occupants of the city.

  11. Assassin dug her rear end out of the sand as Hidden finished their target with one massive blow. Having a weapon like hers would be amazing. Before the girl could even say anything about the fight, she was already being ushered to some new, unknown location. This was about when Hyou returned to her side and purred happily at it's masters safety. There wasn't much she could do to help Assassin fight, but she was glad that Hyou was there for her moral support.

"You can do so much damage Nee-chan. I can't wait to be as strong as you. I'll be able to help you fight, and I'll be able to protect myself like you can!" She smiled a bit at her own words, following next to the older girl. "So, where are we going, you have something to show me? What is it?" The girl asked eagerly, hoping she would be told.

  12. Assassin crawled up off the ground. She had called for help and Hidden was complying to help her. She might have been a little annoyed with the younger girl lately because she wasn't listening, but Assassin appreciated how protective the other girl had become of her.

But now, it was her turn to help her sister. The large fish splashed down on Hidden, paralyzing her as well. Assassin's breathing increased as she felt some kind of adrenaline rush. She wasn't going to let this stupid fish beat up her sister. "Hey!" She growled angrily at the flopping fish. "You leave my Nee-chan alone!" With burst of speed, her red blade slashed through the target several times dropping it's health to critical levels. Just before she could deliver the finishing blow, however, the fishes backside fin slapped her off to the side. She didn't take any damage from the attack, but was sent deep into the sand on her back end. She looked a little dazed for the moment.

  13. The Moretsuna's digital flesh sundered to Hidden's blade leaving a massive gash on it's body where the strike had impacted. A scar across it's health bar showed that it wasn't going to survive another attack. However, it had tricks of it's own. It hopped up into the air, as it had done before and landed directly on top of her. sending more water ashore like how it had done with the younger of the dagger users.

Assassin, on the other hand was having too difficult of a time getting back to her feet and into the fight. The girl coughed up water that logged her body and couldn't really react to anything that was going on around her. All she could see was her big sister getting completely waterboarded the same way she had. "N-Nee chan!" She called out, spitting up more of the lakes grimy water.

  14. The giant fish washed up to shore with ease thank to Hidden, which was good because waiting around for things like this was pretty boring considering that she just got through a similar quest with Ariel. The little girl sighed and pulled her dagger free from it's holster. "Alright... let's beat him u-" When she turned around, Hidden was... well hidden. Vanished completely.

Assassin looked a little nervous not having known where she went. Her hands shook as the Moretsuna approached her. "S-Stay back!" The child screams and slashes her dagger through the target crazily, dealing a mass amount of damage. The Moretsune takes its mighty maw and clamps down on Assassin once her attack is finished, shaking her around like a rag doll before launching her in the grass. Its movement caused a large wave to engulf her. Making it extremely difficult to recover. "H-Help!" She coughed through water being forced through her nose and mouth.

  15. Assassin returned her dagger back to it's rightful place when out of combat, thinking quietly on what Ariel had just told her. She pouted a little as the giant fish exploded into pixels and floated back into the ether of the Cardinal. Although Ariel showed no disdain with her words, the young girl still felt the words cut slightly deep. It wasn't her best maneuver, that much wasn't being questioned, but it had been some time since she was properly scolded like that.

After the fight was over, Assassin merely walked up to Ariel, understanding what she may have done wrong and simply said, "I'm sorry." She realizes that her eagerness to help had nearly gotten her head taken off by the person she was trusting with her life. The strength that she had gained since she started partying with Ariel and Hidden was starting to show in combat now. She could keep up with them to a degree, but she was still sloppy. More practice would be needed...

  16. Assassin moved in with Ariel as she went to attack, bounding behind the blonde with her tiny weapon ready to reach out and end it's opposition. When Ariel reached in to attack, it seemed as though she had missed. Assassin jumped in front of her to make her attack, but just as the blondes weapon struck into the enemy, she now in the way. The spear nearly impaled her if she hadn't fallen on to her rear to dodge it.

"S-Sorry!" The clumsy girl backed up on the ground and rose to her feet as quickly as possible. She had tried to work in cojunction with the front liner, but nearlly gotten her head dismembered from her body. That attack hadn't put the fish down yet, so the battle was still going on. She was continuing to improve with her combat skills and her speed, but she needed to work on fighting with others. Lest something like that actually happen.

  17. Assassin fumbled with the fishing rod for a moment, inspecting the thing like she had never really seen one before. Which, she really hadn't in real life since she spent most of her time in orphanage. Fishing was never really the most fun thing to do for her, but was part of the quest. She waited for a moment for Hidden to cast out her line, so she could watch how to do it, then tried herself. It didn't go out as far as her sisters, but still good enough for what they were doing.

She was recalling that another quest she did with Ariel actually required you to fish up the boss. How boring. "These kind of things are boring." The child's tone waned. "I hope we find it fast then."

A few moments went by and she was already looking so bored of their task. She looked over to Hidden with dull eyes. "Um... Are you still mad with me about the rhino?"

    image.png

  18. Assassin arrived in no time flat, making her way out of the safe zone of Zugaikotsushima and waiting for the other dagger user to come across her. Once she had spotted her older sister she waves her down with a smile. Her giant leopard familiar followed behind her since she wasn't running full speed.

"Nee-chan!" She called out. "We're going to beat up more meanies?" She asked with that innocent smile still painting her face. It would be nice to not have to fight whatever demon was in the caves that they had to fight last time.

"It's not going to be anything scary is it?" She was still worried about it being something like the lich they had fought before. The break with fighting the rhino had really helped at least. "I'm getting a lot stronger, so I can help you with this one right? I don't wanna stand around and do nothing any more."

  19. "A higher floor?" She asked confusedly. Not that she was entirely worried with Hidden's strength to protect her. "Are you sure it's alright that we go up to a higher floor? Am I not too weak for something like that?"

It was nice to see that she wasn't a total annoyance. They had genuinely come so far since they first met and already she had looked to Hidden like a sister. It felt weird to think like that, since the closest thing that she had to a sister before now was the other girls at that orphanage. "I don't have a real sister in the real world." Assassin mumbles to herself, trying to understand what she was feeling.

Hopefully there wouldn't be anything else like that thing that they had to fight. "We aren't going to get attacked by anything else scary like that again are we? I don't think I can handle something like that again."

  20. Assassin looked up confused feeling much better not that the dagger embedded in her leg was freed. She took up her dagger in both her hands and held it while Hidden had her stroke of genius. Is this the confused feeling that everyone else gets when Assassin starts calling them by nicknames. To be fair though, Ayame was a pretty name, and she wasn't going to argue with it.

She stood up on her feet and sheathed her dagger back under her cloak. "A-Ayame? If that is easiest for you, then I'm fine with that. Do you want me to keep calling you Nee-chan?" She just realized that she started calling the girl that name as a generality, but it was beginning to take on a feeling of closeness with the girl. The two of them seemed to connect easy, though she had to wonder something.

"Hey... Um, before we really knew each other, it seemed like you really hated it me. You got really mad, but now you were willing to jump in front of me and that thing to protect me from it... I-I'm not a bother... am I?"

  21. Again, the little girl flinched as an attack from the enemy came barreling towards her. She raised her dagger to try and parry the attack away but thankfully she wouldn't have to. Hidden jumped between them and cut the entire arm(?) of the creature off. The writing digit digitalized into data, floating back into the cardinal.

Assassin steeled herself. If she could just land another attack, this thing would be gone and she wouldn't have to look at it anymore. With a burst of speed, she leaped of the ground and shoved her dagger directly into what she had assumed was it's face, but maybe it was a mask? As it's health points dripped down towards zero, it screamed right in her face. Some of it's saliva covered her face.

With a yelp, she let go of the dagger and fell onto her back on the ground. Soon, the beast exploded into data and their battle was finished. Assassin sat up just in time to feel something stab directly into her leg. Her own dagger, fallen into her calf. She winced a bit as the dulled pain came and whined in a low whisper. "ow..."

  22. Assassin flinched as Hidden took a hit. Her stumbling got her hurt, but for hardly any damage. Still, the younger girl's anger slow began to take over the sense of fear. A low growl under her town, her dagger took on it's crimson resonance, if not even darker than normal.

"You can't hurt Nee-chan like that and expect me not to hurt you!" The child sprinted toward the Lich, unleashing a flurry of blows from every angle, her black cloak imitating that of a tornado as she spun around her target with a scarlet streak of her blade. It's health dipped by nearly a third when she was finished. She quickly made her way back to her position behind her older sister.

The creature did scare her, much more than she expected this game to. She still had a lot to prepare herself for apparently, but at least Hidden and Ariel were here to help protect her.

  23. Black.Assassin.full.2783967.pngAs soon as the two girls rounded the corner of the cave, a bright flash took over her sight. She had to cover her eyes from the bright beams of light. When it cleared, a seemingly uncharacteristic expression took the child's face. Normally when it came to monsters, she was good about not getting scared, but oh my god what the fuck is that.

"U-Uh.. Okay-" The girl said as her blade lit up with it's usual purple color, humming with power as it charged a sword art. She rushed forward, trying her best not to look at the massive lich that had literally just eaten it's allies. However, that was impossible. She bound towards her target, missed completely, tripped and rolled into a wall.

The thud of her body against the wall reverberated through the cavern. She coughed after sucking in some dirt that clouded her impact and stood to her feet. "S-Sorry.."
