Chase DBP Happy.png"Everything here looks about right, yup."

YOUR EVALUATION HAS BEEN APPROVED BY CHASER.

  2. The boy's face soured a bit. He hadn't lost anyone yet, but he remembered that time back in Valhalla when almost he died because his party wasn't being careful enough. With a groan, he scratched the back of his head and looked up at the sky. "... Shit. Sorry.", he grumbled and continued to listen to her, just tried to avoid eye contact. Thankfully, he was still taking notes of all the game's systems and had used his basement as the library for all things Aincrad, so that could probably help her.

Chase DBP Happy.png"I've gone around and looked for every single skill in the game. People that have them and use them, how to use them, where, and so on. I can tell you anything you want, or give it to you in notes so you can look at it alone. Keep you safer and informed.", he tried to reassure her once more, before he noticed the look she was giving his bracelet. "I could probably do that. It might take me a few tries, but I can definitely do that. What do you want?", he asked her with a small smile, trying to think of anything to get her to stop moping around. Not that she was in the wrong to do so, but when it came to people, Chase was the absolute worst at helping them snap out of it. Last he tried something to cheer one of his best friends up, he ended up making her pissed at him.

  3. Her behavior so far and the way she acknowledged she's participated in as few fights as possible, maybe she just wasn't suited for combat. He knew a few people like that, like that sleazeball Sven, that midget cook with the cart, and a few more. A lonely month though? "Lonely? They never came back once they were done here, or... did they..?", he quietly asked, looking at her with furrowed brows and a bit of worry for what she'd say in response.

Chase DBP Eyebrow.pngAs for no battling... That could work. Hell, that might as well be a better outcome than another battle-crazed player. "Mm... It's not bad if you don't wanna fight. You can probably get away with it and pretty well too. Become a crafter, probably cook, alchemist or performer and supply the frontliners with items. Not everyone is made for combat.", he shared his thoughts and gave her another small smile, hoping he'd reassured her that she wasn't just being the odd one out. "You can also craft and fight if that's what you want. Or just fight and craft something every now and then like me. I make trinkets.", he said and looked at his Chained Bracelet, just grinning and then turning to her again. He was still waiting on an answer anyways. Even so though, he couldn't help but notice that she was getting successful with the gathering now that the conversation had gotten going.

  4. Lucky's question almost snapped Chase out of this poor attitude again and got him to stop, look at her and space out. What did he want to do when he started playing? He always wanted to be of help to others, but having cowered in an inn for a good few years didn't really do him good. Was it years though? Or was it months, hell, even weeks and he just thought it too long?

Chase DBP Surprised.pngDespite the questions he was drowning himself with, he didn't externalise it in his expression too well because he ended up just looking down at the grass wide eyed like a fish for a good minute or so. "I was sitting in some inn on the first for a while. So I guess... I wanted to pay back the frontlines for keeping up the clearing even when I was just being a wimp.", he muttered, having a relatively neutral expression before a smile cracked again. A small, but genuine smile, and a softer look in his eyes. "... It's kinda fun. Protecting friends. And making new ones. I haven't had an experience like this in real life. I sucked at meeting and talking to people. Still do, just not as much, thankfully.", his rambling continued, as he thought about all the times he took hits for Shay, NIGHT, Haine, and the list went on and on. He'd even tried protecting more people but there was always stronger tanks out there- not just people will faster reflexes, those were... probably out there, just not putting them to use. Just people that wanted to do the same as he did, and he was in no place to take that away from them. "Bows and stuff don't exist, so that was your best bet huh? Is the fighting giving you any trouble?", he tried to put the encounter back on track with some more conversation, looking at her with the same small smile and a more interested expression than whatever she'd seen from him so far.

  5. The question took Chase by surprise, but more than anything else he just looked at one of the boars, down at his own literal jacket for armor he was wearing, and then back at Lucky. "N-No, the red just means they're mobs. There's not enough of us for all of them to have killed, and them... They uh. Do you have mitigation on your armor? They can't damage you if you have a single slot at the lowest level. They suck.", he told her with a sigh, scratching the back of his head.

Chase DBP Guilty Silent.pngIt was a very odd question for a newbie, and it's not that he wanted to belittle her, but maybe she was being a bit dramatic. They were just boars, and even he was tense but not outright scared of them. So now was uh... time to try and figure out how to use that large hunk of junk. He took his sword off his back and quietly dug its blade into the ground, coughing dryly. Even she could tell he was having a bit of trouble using it as he rested both of his arms on it, pointing at the endless fields. "So quick thing. I'm a tank. I take hits, dodge them mostly, and monsters go for me. They're no danger to you if you have mitigation, and even if you don't, they'll be trying to hit me the whole time anyways. The sword's new but I can kick them to death probably, given my level. It's uh... Paragon 50-something. You can calm down.". His awkward side seemed to have been put back out on display, and his words might have come out less reassuring than intended. But at least, he didn't seem to be lying, and that he most definitely was not.

  6. Although her remark could have been seen by rude, it'd be hypocritical of Chase to take offense. He was so much worse when he started out since going into the game and even further back. It was only recently that he could speak without offending anyone and everyone at the same time with his remarks, crassness and overall tone. "Ye, take your time.", he told her and yawned, putting both hands behind his head and looking up at the sky quietly.

Chase DBP Default.png"Oh?", he heard her and turned to the side, giving her a nod when she mentioned the gathering task she was given. He simply smiled again and just started to move out towards the fields, gesturing her to follow right up. "Gathering is uh. Weird? So you know how you could forage for berries and stuff like in camp? You kinda don't here. You'll go out into the fields, monsters can spawn but they're not aggressive unless you're in their territory, plus I'm here, but you go out and you look for blue shining stuff. When you pick them up, they'll stop shining and that's a material.", he tried to explain as best as he could, and in the process it might have seemed somewhat downplaying? That was probably because he wasn't sure how to say it without sounding completely off though. The sleepiness was causing his mind to be more foggy too, having woken up this early on, so that was to blame as well. "So look around and just see if you can spot any blue shines in the grass.", he repeated and showed her the open fields around him with his hand. Nothing was close in terms of monsters, but a few boars could be seen wandering about with red crystals above their heads. "Don't approach them and we'll be fine.", he reminded her and just watched with a smile.

  7. This might as well have been the first time Chase met someone so petite, barring that one kid he'd found hanging around Haine and Kiluia back when they were still around. She seemed mature though, so probably around his age. As if that mattered. It was time to go find the alchemist, that's what he'd to focus on. "Y-You don't need to be so formal. I do this a lot... On accident, but. C'mon, he's this way.", he told her and began walking down the path, the same one that lead out of the town.

Chase DBP Awkward Silent.pngWhile walking though, he decided to give her a bit of insight into his own 'gaming career'. "I uh... There's stuff other than adventure games too? This is my first one.", he admitted with an awkward laugh, feeling some small beads of sweat form on his face. She seemed to be acting like he was some form of authority, but the goofball wouldn't even be here if he was around that level of knowledge. "I was supposed to share the game with a friend but uh. Y'know how it went.", he tried to explain and just as he finished, he came to a somewhat sudden halt and turned to the left, showing the wooden workshop in all of its glory. "Zackariah's the old man in there. Once he's told you what to do, we'll head into the fields. You'll have to gather some materials for him."

  8. <<The First Lesson>>

On his way to his friend's house, NIGHT's, Chase ended up seeing the dead giveaway of a freshie that was staying in an inn for god knows how long- much like he, of course. He quietly stuffed both of his hands in his pockets, deciding to follow her around for a minute or two silently. If she managed to find her way to Zack's (probably) store, he'd let her. If she wouldn't... oh boy.

Chase DBP Default Uncertain.png"... Christ almighty.", he thought to himself after a good five minutes he thought to stick with her just to see her find her way around. But after fumbling about the streets completely hopelessly with quite the anxious expression on her face, he decided to step forwards and cough dryly- as you do- to get her attention. And now came the classic pick up line as he put on a more friendly smile. "First Lesson, right?". The name of the quest she was probably going for. The amount of times he'd asked this question was starting to make him laugh more and more, but it was good ultimately. Just showed that more people wanted to pick up the pace and get out whenever they could. "Zackariah's house is somewhere over there. Want me to take you over?". It was easy to see that he wasn't a newbie himself. His clothes weren't just standard issued hard leather armor, instead being a comfy, custom blue jacket with black shorts to pair, as well as some bracelet on his left arm and a (now at least) menacingly big sword on his back. A way too recent upgrade, but he carried it around as normally as one could with a sword-shaped boulder on their back.

  10. Cardinal was just proving what it always loved to. While Sera's instability (emotionally and literally when holding the spear) was to blame, more of the calculations between hitting and not fell on the system. It was almost 'protecting' Mama Boar as if just to screw over Sera and discourage her. Chase knew that Kayaba wasn't that unfair, but it was getting hard to believe. So to stop this from getting any worse, he sighed.

Chase DBP Silent.pngHe sighed and took his sword back out, quietly approaching Sera. He took one of her hands and quietly put it over his, waiting until she held it from behind, basically holding the sword alongside him. And just like that, he slammed the pommel of his sword into the boar's head just when it would jump up to attack him after another charge. "If you were cursed, this would be a whole lot different.", he told her with a small smile before pulling his hand back, realising what he'd done and pinching his nose with the other hand. "S-Sorry.", he faltered momentarily before letting out a grunt. "It's dead anyways. Don't beat yourself over it. The system likes to make you feel helpless at times.", he tried to reassure her that it wasn't fully (or even partially) her fault. She didn't need to hear it all after her first battle. She'd learn very quickly anyways.

"If only the players wanted anything different, that'd help out.". He wanted to say that, but he didn't. Thoughts of the whole feud with Firm Anima ran through his head and for a moment, he looked away with a harsher glare off into the distance. It quickly cleared up though before he turned back to Sera with another small smile. "Let's go turn in the quest to Zackariah. I can take you for a walk after and explain a few things. It should help you out, unwind so you can compose yourself and get ready for the next quest.", he proposed, one sword on his hip and the other on his sword's hilt.

  11. A small grin lit up on the boy's face as Remington chuckled and gave him a nod, before gesturing him to go. "Of course. Get outta 'ere son, don' let me catch ya 'round here again. Shoo.", he joked and they both shared a laugh for a brief moment before he was really off. He got on the teleporter, just wondering if after this update every single town, village and NPC was like this. This happiness, this livelihood, this scary resemblance to humans.

Chase DBP Happy.png"Cardinal is really sending everyone's head for a spin. But at the very least, they're alright. This world is going just fine, we're the only ones 'caught in the crossfire'. That's good.", he finished his thoughts and shook his head as if to clear it, before teleporting away back to the 21st where his house was. Maybe it was time to just reflect back on the day and take a break. This wouldn't last forever anyways, would it? Neither would Blizz. Best just sit with him and treasure him a bit more.

  12. By the time Chase was starting to head off, Remington called him back and he turned, hearing the researcher out.  "I know Sewallus can be one good ol' tirin' piece of work every now and then. Thanks for taking care of 'im. I won't give you more than this as a thank 'ou, but I trust you'll do good even without my blessings.", he said with a small grin, lighting his cigarette again and exhaling the smoke off to the side.

Chase DBP Default.png"Aye. I just did what I had to do as a tank- defended my party. Same thing Sewallus would have done if it were anybody else and he were in my position.", the bluehead calmly responded and put both of his hands in his jacket's pockets, seeing the HUD pop up for all the quest rewards before him as he tapped away at it before snugging his palms back in the warm embrace of his tracksuit. "If anything else dangerous pops up, I'll be here on my own. So no need to call me."

  13. Maybe it was that Chase was there and it wasn't as easy as he was making it sound, or he just wasn't that type of person at all. But regardless, he didn't know or want to bother enough to find out which of the two it was. So for now, he waited until the crowd left the two back to their 'jobs'. And so, they met up with Remington near the teleporter once again, explaining the encounter. While talking, the researcher took notes of every little detail, with Chase trying to peek over but not being able to distinguish much.

Chase DBP Default Uncertain.pngAround half an hour or so later, everything had been explained and answered. All of the questions about the monster's physique, scars, movement, anatomy, and the list went on and on. So much needless information, but Chase didn't belong here. Sewallus did, Remington did, the people of Aincrad did. That's who they needed the research for, the ones who didn't know about the outside world. Not the strangers who were forcibly dragged into it.

  14. Upon arriving, Remington looked at the pair quietly. His expression didn't change, but it didn't quite take a genius to tell that he was probably glad they were both back- not as much for the boy as much for his friend, the leader of the guard. "Remington, we got the baboon.", the leader of the guard cheered, 'accidentally' loud enough for the rest of the village to hear and start cheering. It was like for a moment, they had done some herculian task that noone else could possibly do.

Chase DBP Awkward Silent.pngHe didn't say much though. Chase knew that this wasn't a hard fight- the hard part was escorting Sewallus through it. It was an easy one, if not a pushover. He just had gotten unused to the system and this monster was nothing compared to the floor bosses that were up ahead- or even the quest bosses on the floors further up. There wasn't anything to gain out of ruining everybody's cheerful mood though. The triumph was cheered on for a while more, while Sewallus explained about the battle and how heroically they both took the titan down, felling him like a tree with their tough weapons. How story-like, huh.

  15. Little else needed to be said in terms of Sewallus' conduct throughout the encounter. It was almost like the paladin was hellbent on getting crushed by trees flying left and right, if not ripped apart by the enormous primate. "Yeah, you should. I don't think Remington or anybody else in Florenthia would prefer you dead to... you know, saving them.", he commented, being a tank himself and knowing why he was acting this way. Selfishness, pride, it was all part of his job. He was a tank, if anybody else got hurt then part of the burden would be on Sewallus' shoulders.

Chase DBP Default.png"I understand.", he said without speaking much more past that. For the rest of the little travel back to the town they both had little business left in, they were quiet, only the rustling of leaves, as well as the clunks and thuds of their armors sounding. The paladin was holding on to his axe by the middle of its shaft, walking silently, while the bluehead kept marching with a hand on his sword's hilt and looking around at the trees, amazed by the size of the floor's forest more than anything else. And before long had even passed, they were back. Back in the village, where everybody was happy and chatting with one another.

  16. The store was closed, but the bluehead stepped in regardless. If the door was open, the door was open. He didn't have a very good history with Firm Anima the way things were right now, but there wasn't anybody better suited to request the help of but Griswold. With a dry cough, he spotted the hulk further back in the store, quietly approaching the counter and whistling.

Chase DBP Default.png"I want you to do me a favor. I've got the materials, you've got the hammer and workshop.", he asked of the man, his face completely serious. Any hint of aggression was gone, and he seemed ready to pay whatever price Griswold were to put on Chase's request. He opened up his inventory and began placing weapons on the counter, one by one. A weapon Griswold might not have seen for himself, "Orgoth's Legacy" from the 25th floor's boss fight, a blade Simmone had identified for Chase, the 'Sanguine Half-Sword' and lastly, he unsheathed his own weapon, placing the broken stone blade on the counter next to the other two two-handers. "Fuse my Sanguine Half-Sword with Orgoth's Legacy. And fuse whatever comes out with my Fragmented Blade.", he explained his plan and placed a gleaming scale on each of the swords, as well as a demonic shard on the fragmented blade. "Don't alter the blades any. Use a scale on each, and the shard for the final fusion to make my Fragmented Blade into a demonic. They're all part of the same sword, I think. I'll wait however long I have to. Please.", he finished and dipped his head in pleadingly, remaining quiet as he awaited the blacksmith's response.

    Spoiler

    Fusing using 1 Gleaming Scale:

    <<Sanguine Half-Sword>>
    T4 Perfect | Straight Sword | PARA II, V. OFF I
A half broken sword with rounded edges, that make its usefulness in combat questionable.  Blue bits of lightning appear around the blade every so often, giving off a menacing and corrupted aura.

    <<Orgoth's Legacy>>
    T4 Perfect | Straight Sword | PHASE, HOLY I, ACC | 187496

    into:

    <<Fragmented Half-Sword>>
    T4 Perfect | Straight Sword | PHASE, HOLY I, V.OFF I

Then fusing using 1 Gleaming Scale and 1 Demonic Shard:

    <<Fragmented Half-Sword>>
    T4 Perfect | Straight Sword | PHASE, HOLY I, V.OFF I

    <<Fragmented Blade>>
    T4 Perfect | Straight Sword | PARA I, HOLY II | 168398
A blade with various broken bits and pieces.  It’s broken around barely less than half its length.  It is said that despite its jagged, broken form, it will sometimes exhibit exceptional power.  Usually when the wielder needs it the most.

    into:

    <<Chase's Star>>
    T4 Demonic | Straight Sword | HOLY II, PHASE, V.OFF I
A stone blade wide in size and long. Despite it seeming somewhat dull, its edges are trimmed just enough to make it as sharp as it needs to be. Small lines of steel can be seen running on the flat of the blade up and down, as if bouncing between its edges all the way to the top, where a golden diamond lies with a dragon sigil etched right at the center. Its guard is wide and its blade clean, giving off a royal feeling.

  17. Using x1 Paragon Tier Up Ticket (Paragon Level 50 Rewards) on:

    <<Sanguine Half-Sword>>
    T3 Perfect | Straight Sword | PARA II, V. OFF I
A half broken sword with rounded edges, that make its usefulness in combat questionable.  Blue bits of lightning appear around the blade every so often, giving off a menacing and corrupted aura.

    to turn it into:

    <<Sanguine Half-Sword>>
    T4 Perfect | Straight Sword | PARA II, V. OFF I
A half broken sword with rounded edges, that make its usefulness in combat questionable.  Blue bits of lightning appear around the blade every so often, giving off a menacing and corrupted aura.

  18. The clap and laugh made Chase blush a bit, mostly because he didn't have an idea what the funny part was- it kinda stuck together when he heard her comment though. It came out naturally and less like a cheesy attempt at anything, but maybe it seemed otherwise to his companion. Oops. "D-Don't laugh, I'm god horrible at communicating normally.", he added somewhat shyly and gave a small laugh in response, looking back at the boar as Sera began to approach it.

Chase DBP Happy.pngEven though she missed her attack once again, she was still learning. Chase remembered having gotten his first few encounters down alright, but Shay, the person helping him at the time, was a lot closer to his level than he was to Sera's. She was level 16, and he was 1 at the time. A much easier fit for the both of them as Shay wasn't nearly as strong as he was currently, so she could help without just wiping the field clear. That's why he had to keep holding back though- or else Sera would be too overleveled with no experience. Actual experience, not just the game's EXP. That was what drove most people through the game.

And then it hit him, like a slap in the back of the neck. He froze in his place and turned around, looking at her before smiling. "Seriously? Already?", he asked as he let out a small laugh, but it wasn't at her expense. If anything, he was surprised, pleasantly so too. He just laughed again and turned around, only to see the boar almost hit him and step aside at the very last second. That was a close one. He chased right behind it as it tried to halt its charge, slamming it from behind and sending it tumbling her way. "My 'mentors' told me I was rushing when I said I'd get to the frontlines. But within a month or so, there I am.", he explained and sheathed his sword, trusting in Sera's abilities to finish the mob with her next attack. It would land, for sure.

"If you're going to the frontlines, let me help you get there. There's nothing better for me to do but help others with the way things are. Until there's a party moving to unlock the 27th floor.", he requested of her with confidence and a fire in his eyes almost, clenching one of his fists. He felt tense, despite how confident he seemed. His excitement was getting the best of him, remembering his journey from the start to where he currently stood. "Finish 'er off!", he added, as the boar got back on its fours facing him, ready to charge once more from right next to Seraphina. Just the right angle for a finishing blow.

  19. Speaking of luck, two holy triggers in one day- hell, even a single proc felt lucky at this point. The hardest fight he'd had in the past few days, no, weeks, happened to be with the Shadow. "You actually got to see my sword's full form. I didn't during the boss fight.", he told her with a small smile, dusting his legs somewhat and starting to walk towards the Boar quietly, seeming much more reserved- still not properly holding his ground, but he looked more concentrated.

Chase DBP Eyebrow.png"Right now we've unlocked 26 floors. I helped unlock the 26th. We kill bosses to do that- big bad monsters. The Shadow, the 26th boss, had some form of history with a few of the players. It had a lot of attacks but I was the tank in one of the teams and couldn't do jack. I'm meant to deal some damage, but.", he said and saw Mama Boar charge at him again, looking down at his blade before focusing on the monster. He sidestepped, fancily twirling around it to show off mostly, and watching it do a u-turn just to attack him and him alone. With another miss, it almost landed the third attempt, only to get grabbed by the bluehead's hands, held in place by its horns. And then came a slam from the side with the flat side of his sword, sending it tumbling to the side.

"McJackass right here didn't like me that day or something. Holy never showed up. That's the enhancement's name.", he explained and looked over his shoulder at Sera, the hint of a small smile still present on the edge of his lips. "We made it through, but he better straighten up next time. Boss fight should be up soon for the 27th. So while you're not on the frontlines with me, just laugh with it. It's still a game down here.". Although there was a bit of bitterness behind his words, he seemed to be genuine about it- not trying to worry her or make her fear, but reassure her more lighthearted feelings. "In a way, I'm lucky to even have gotten Holy ones. Poor choice of target, but that's just it. So let's just have fun and keep playing with it while we can.", he finished his small monologue of a story time and pep talk before giving her a smile again, closing his eyes as he did. "And you're up, go get 'em!", he bombarded her too soon for a smooth transition, wanting to see if she'd pull it off properly this time.

  20. The sudden perking up in Sera's attitude and finding the spirit of SAO honestly felt refreshing. Hearing someone say 'partner' with this much confidence was definitely cheesy, but god did he need to hear that once in a while. Now was a good time, better than ever if anything. And no better way to top this first quest off for the truthfully enjoyable friend he'd hopefully made than to finish the optional objective in a jiffy.

Chase DBP Happy.pngApproaching the mother boar, he took his blade out again and whistled to get its attention, wandering slightly to the side to make sure no attacks could hit his partner by accident. And just then, the wisps showed up again. He grinned and even laughed nervously with how lucky he was getting, his sword acting up all this often. He held the blade with both hands, its full form revealing itself once again, although this time the light was a lot dimmer- almost flickering. He didn't seem to notice, dashing right at the boar and slashing; and just when his blade should have sliced the beast in half, it dissipated right before touching into complete nothingness, leaving the Mama Boar to ram her tusks right into him, sending him tumbling back a bit.

Although initially he gasped for air when he was struck, he got up and shook his head, getting some blades of grass out of it laughing as if he wasn't even in a fight right now. "Sword's being a dipshit, don't mind it. It's got its eyes on me anyways. Use your strongest sword art, just go with it!", he advised her as he got up and dusted himself, keeping his stone sword only in his right hand, the left one moving to his jacket's pocket and staying tucked in while he closed the distance between himself and the two others once more.

  21. Although he'd seen the boar charge at her and knew there wasn't much he could do, hearing the squeal quickly made him react the same way he would if the monster was any dangerous- he held himself back and used his weakest SA available, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to pummel the everliving hell out of the mob. Or at least he would, if he got the chance to.

Chase DBP Glare (New).pngHolding his sword with one hand he moved it to the side, keeping his arm stretched to the side before white wisps began to gather around the blade. And they quickly formed what seemed like the rest of the two handed greatsword- or at least that's what it seemed to be- with an opaque form. Before there was any time to marvel at it though, he slashed forwards and the blade that had just formed got sent flying right at the boarlet, slicing it clean and dissipating shortly after with a small white flash. Maybe a bit overkill, but the job was done- Sera was officially in none, not even a little bit of danger. Only as the flash started did Chase's concentrated glare stop, realizing he'd massacred what was left of the Boarlet group and looking at Sera, giving her a small smile and thumbs up with his left hand.

"Sorry, standard reaction. To allies getting hurt.", he tried to brush it off and sheathed his blade again, seeing that there weren't any more monsters nearby. Not that boarlets were literally monsters, but technicalities. "That's how you perform sword arts though. Just keep trying the motions out and you'll see, there's plenty of them. Some can stop enemies in their tracks, and others hit multiple. See what works for the situation. It becomes habit to make the right calls after a while.", he tried to explain as best as he could, grinning and resting his left hand on his sword's hilt. Looking around the plains, he wasn't sure if she wanted to tackle the optional objective to the quest- the Mama Boar. "Mama would be an issue for you. But you're with me. I can soften her up and let you do the rest. And make sure she'll attack me too, so you don't get hurt again."

    * The healing effects that triggered are V.Def (Vampiric Defensive) on a CD 9+, HBS (Holy Blessing) because I got hit last turn, and the energy regen is because it's my turn again. It's Player Tier * 1 per turn at the start. My SA cost 1 EN instead of 2 because of my Stamina mod for my Weapon Skill. Hope I helped make it less confusing. ^^

    • Don't pay the unique enhancements too much attention. You won't run into them a lot until later, but if you do you can always ask me/your partner for the thread what they did. ^^

** As for the damage, 21 is my Base DMG, +2 is from the BD 10 critical, and +16 is from scoring a Holy (2 slots) trigger at T4, since it's 2 * slots * tier, and I have 2 slots and am Tier 4. Although this mob died, because my weapon has 1 slot of Paralysis (meaning it'll Paralyze at BD 9-10), it would paralyzed and lose its next turn, as well as had all of its EVA negated until then, had it survived.

  22. ChaseR looked at her attempt at attacking the spear, wincing when he noticed Sera's attack miss. And now came the boarlet's- but it barely scratched her. Thankfully, she seemed to have put on mitigation or something of the sort on her armor. He stepped forward, ready to instruct her on how to use her spear but before that, the other two boarlets charged straight at him. One missed, while the other hit his stomach dead on. Gasping out a bit of air, Chase groaned and pushed it back with his free hand, unsheathing the broken stone blade. "C'mon, piss off, shoo."

Chase DBP Default.png"So, what you need to do is use a sword art. Don't just attack. That usually doesn't work.". He tried to hold his broken sword like a spear, looking at it awkwardly and closing his eyes. With a bit of help, he could visualize something- more than enough. The boarlet was getting agitated looking at him take on a different stance and do nothing as if it was a non-threat, screeching almost and charging at him instead of Sera this time around. And then, he thrust the sword forwards- to no avail, not that it dealt any damage. And then he slapped the boar with the flat side of his sword, causing a thud to sound before it disappeared into tiny blue fragments, flying away in the air. "Like that. Try it. Just try to attack, but with uh... focus. Think about it a bit. And let it be natural."

If anything came to mind from when he was starting to take notes on every weapon skill available, what she needed to use was called 'Sonic Charge' or so. "You'll get health back once the fight is over. But you're not in danger. Just practice.", he tried to reassure her and smiled slightly, looking at her with a lax pose almost and the hand he was holding his sword in nearly dropped fully. It was clear that at the very least these boarlets weren't any issue; for him nor her.

  23. Before long, somebody had appeared on the plaza. Happy to see someone, Chase calmed himself down. They might as well just be here for the new dungeons that showed up. And then he saw the person. Good grief he wasn't getting his hopes up... "... Is she actually-", he almost groaned and tried to avoid glaring at her as Zandra walked up closer to him, letting out a deep sigh. "... Beggars can't be choosers.", he thought to himself and just tried to forget about their brief history. Or at the very least put it aside for the time being. They had to work together after all.

Chase DBP Default Uncertain.png"... Hi.", he quietly greeted her and looked up at the sky for a moment, letting out another audibly exhausted sigh. He'd gotten so tired yet they hadn't even taken a step- or formed a party. Incredible. "No, I didn't think anyone would come. Maybe your friends will... you know. Come.". Despite the atmosphere being somewhat rough and tense, at the very least the both of them wanted the same thing- sorta. Zandra probably wanted monsters to kill, and Chase wanted to find the boss; which was a monster to kill. Now the question was, who did she invite and how much did he like them? Because the way things were going, it'd be most comical if the only people to show up to Chase's dungeon search were people he couldn't stomach himself. "... So. Who did you invite?"

  24. And so, Chase had decided to put up an offer to run a party in the player request board. Instead of it being for content he wanted to explore though like dungeons, be it the Black Iron Dungeon or the normal ones, or any quests, it was for the new floor boss. Nobody was doing anything a while now and it was getting on his nerves. He himself was a prime example of a sitting duck the past while. So, he did it.

Chase DBP Default.png"Any frontliners interested in exploring the 26th Floor and finding the labyrinth, meet me in the 26th Floor's teleport plaza at afternoon. I'm a tank, so I can make sure you don't die. Kill things fast enough to keep me from dying and let's find the boss' room. Then we'll regroup at a later date and organize the final attack on the boss. If you know a stronger player than you and aren't suited for the frontlines yourself, let them know. Thank you.", so it read. And now it was afternoon, with Chase crossing his arms as he waited right next to the plaza, groaning and pinching his nose. He was leaning against the obelisk right behind the plaza, waiting for more people to show up. From what he'd heard, there could be a few people there to explore the labyrinth just in case there were monsters, let alone a boss in it.

If anything, he felt awkward and nervous. Awkward for having to assemble the team himself, a team that not only he didn't know most (if anyone) in, but he was also one of the top contenders for roughest talkers in Aincrad. The nervousness? He was excited, yet worried. What if it was too much? But it was his first time, and he never let himself down in the past- at least the recent past. "Let's see how this plays out."
