[PP | F01] Back in Session <<First Few Lessons>>Adelyte replied to Faerie's topic in Beginner Floors "I'm a painter too!" Adelyte shouted, too excited about her passion to express it quietly. "Well," she brought it down a notch, "I draw more than I paint, but whenever the inspiration hits.." She would pat her pocket, as if that was where she kept all of her supplies. in reality they were tucked away in her digital inventory. "Always got to stay strapped, ya'know?" Her smile brightened as she rounded the pool and reunited with Faerie, "It sounds like your dad has an amazing imagination." Genevive relied heavily on her imagination to get through tough times. Make believe friends, engrossin

[PP | F01] Back in Session <<First Few Lessons>>Adelyte replied to Faerie's topic in Beginner Floors "What were we talking about again?" Adelyte asked, tapping her chin with the side of her thumb. "Oh yeah! How cool this place is!" she opened her arms out, gesturing towards the cave.. but also Aincrad as a whole. "Before this game came out, I don't think I could have ever even imagined a place like this.. a floating castle. One hundred floors, each one different. Of course I want to get back home to my mama but.." her smile faltered a bit. Homesickness settling in, usually she kept those moments behind closed doors. She swallowed the rising lump in her throat down and forced a smile out

[PP | F01] Back in Session <<First Few Lessons>>Adelyte replied to Faerie's topic in Beginner Floors "Errrr." Adelyte tapped her chin, trying to recall what Zachariah had told them about the quest. "I think we just need to grab three each? So that's not too bad." She turned her head to look at Faerie, noticing the woman's distorted image as they stood on opposite sides of a large, clear crystal structure. "Hehe, its like a funhouse mirror." she remarked as she looked from one angle giving Fae a large head, and then another making her super tall. "Its so nice to find someone else who loves exploring Aincrad." Adelyte would slowly pace about the space, peeking between rock formation

[PP | F01] Back in Session <<First Few Lessons>>Adelyte replied to Faerie's topic in Beginner Floors "Beauty in the eye of the beholder" Adelyte quoted, referencing Fae's comment that some materials have a different appearance, depending on the player. She looked at her with a bright smile as Fae tried to apologize, "Oh, you don't need to be sorry. I do it all the time. Plus its cute to hear you nerd out about that stuff. Lead that way Fae!" Did she chortle at her silly rhyme? Of course she did. With long strides, she followed behind her gathering companion into the darkness of the cave. The light of the sun slowly faded the farther in they descended, and it completely vanished as

"OHMIGOSH! HORSES!" Came a shriek from, what could have been, half of a mile away from the homestead. Two, ghostly blue pigtails flailed behind her as she ran down the path. Her shout, and the dust cloud that rose from where her boots pounded into the trail, were beginning to spook the animals - restless movements and some snorts, looking around for means of escape. Immediately, Adelyte realized she was at fault and slowed to a brisk walk. "Sorry! Sorrysorry." she apologized, to the horses, to their owner. To whoever really. Sidestepping past now the now much calmer animals, she wou

[PP | F01] Back in Session <<First Few Lessons>>Adelyte replied to Faerie's topic in Beginner Floors Adelyte found herself leaning her shoulder against one of the support beams in the alchemist's shop while Faerie spoke with Zachariah. A whole spiel that she had heard one too many times. Smiling devilishly at Faerie, she mocked the potion crafter's unskippable speech with a yapping hand gesture. Blah blah blah. She has spoken with other NPCs before that had a soul, rather than some husk of a human with one daily task repeated over and over and over again. Either Zach here missed the boat on that system update, or this was his personality. Adelyte held onto hope that this would be the last tim

Adelyte LOVED the beach. Granted, she had only been once before, and never set foot on a sandy shore in the real world. But the last time she was here it was great! Now she was here on Halloween, her favorite holiday. That love stemmed from the real world, at least. One of the few times a year she got to explore the town, outside of Mama's chateau. The costumes, the scary decoration, and the candy. So. Much. Candy. Trick or Treating on the beach was something she didn't know she needed in her life, it was a shame there was only one house though. But in the end, it would be a better e

[PP | F01] Back in Session <<First Few Lessons>>Adelyte replied to Faerie's topic in Beginner Floors "Tsk tsk" Adelyte would suck her teeth, waggling a finger at Faerie. "Dropping the ball there, Faerie. Not a good first impression." she teased, and made it obvious. "That's alright, I totally get it. I always wanted to open up a bakery because of my love for pastries. But Mama always told me that I wouldn't make any money because I'd eat everything." She shook her head. "The audacity, amirite? I mean, she's not wrong, but, like, eat everything?" She looked at Faerie for a moment, as if expecting a rebuttal, or even concurring beliefs. But Adelyte continued on anyway without waiting for a resp

[F01-PP] The Best Time to Begin is Now | <<The First Lessons>>Adelyte replied to Plum's topic in Beginner Floors ♦Lv4 Adelyte The sharpened charcoal scratched against the empty, white page. Careful strokes took shape as more attention was given to the detail of the sketch. Facial features came alive, simple shading added dimension to the clothes. It was clear that she spent much of her time doing this. Almost too much time. The open Tolbana square was quaint, and not overly busy at this time of the day. Making it the perfect spot to people watch and pick out her next subject to - shall we say - capture their true essence and beauty on paper. Embracing the shade o

Move move move. All she had to do was move. Keep running. Don't stop. Don't look back. Hackman ran just in front of her, and Kyra to her right. The only one she could not see was Jevi, but the constant sounds of combat amidst the undiscernible screeching meant she was holding her own. The sudden, explosive boom from just behind her caught her attention though, and caused her to stop in her tracks for just a second. Eyes widened at the power behind that punch, leagues above her own strength, and her mouth hung agape. A tiny "woah.." was the only sound that came out with a breath. "Ke

Adelyte clenched the hammer within her hands, her knuckles white with how tightly she held onto the weapon. Clearly trembling, she looked down at the head of the weapon, the strange sinew of the once-toad still dripping to the ground.. very much unlike the usual way monsters pop like confetti when they died. "Y-Yeah" she stammered, swallowing down the knot in her throat, "I guess its because I'm pretty strong." She would flex an arm, showing off that she did, indeed, have muscles. Attempting to joke and force confidence was her way of dealing with the absolute dread that turned in her st

"Ah shit." Adelyte cursed as the labyrinth was pointed out. Right in the middle of the forest. The forest where she had just come from. "I was going the wrong way.." No matter her little snafu, they were back on track to have the weapon delivered. After passing into the tree line, they had lost sight of the massive cylindrical tower. Did the frontliners really have to climb one of those to get to each boss fight? Adelyte shook away the thought, now wasn't the time to get distracted and start asking stupid questions. Untying the ridiculously long scarf from her forehead, she would fashion

♦Lv1 Adelyte "But like... I don't fight with a sword, I use a hammer!" ... "Oh! Its a special quest sword... does it have any cool powers?" ... "Bummer... Okay, you wait there! I'll go get some rope from town, and I'll give the sword to someone to take to Mordor, and then I'll be back! Pinky prom-" They were too far down to accept her pinky promise. Blowing them a big, overexaggerated kiss, Adelyte would step away from the cliff edge. "Stay frosty! I'll be right back!" Unwrapping the red scarf from around her neck, she would fas

Adelyte took the sketch pad into her lap as she noticed the girl's grip went from cautious fingers to a tighter grip. Her lips pursed as she looked at the drawing, the paper creased where her thumbs pressed into the page and a few streaks of dark that were not there before. No matter, Adelyte thought as she closed the book and placed it on the blanket with the rest of her equipment. The smile on the woman's face grew stretching from ear to ear as she clapped her hands together once in front of her. "Fujiko Himiko, what a cute name! Well, it sounds like they are doing a very good job teach

The sudden realization of the girl's presence, even at a slight distance, was startling. Others walked the park's paths, keeping to their own devices. In a world of swords and monsters, a lone woman sketching wasn't exactly an exciting sight. Yet, here this young, ashen haired girl crouched, her gentle gaze locked onto the dark scribbles of charcoal on the page. "Gah! Don't look!" was her first instinct, nearly toppling over as she pulled the book into her chest. The girl appeared young, maybe about half of her own age, and timid given the volume of her voice and the space she gave Adely

[PP | F01] Back in Session <<First Few Lessons>>Adelyte replied to Faerie's topic in Beginner Floors "You should get an accountant or something!" Adelyte would shout after the mayor as he ran off, probably to hand out even more loans, "You stink!" With pride in her chest and a confident smirk on her lips, she would turn to face the other player, a look that said 'i showed him.' "Politicians, amirite?" "Wait, so you've taken this quest before too?" she would ask, a slight tilt in her head. "Started it, never got around to finishing it because it took too long and the friends that you dragged along with you needed to get back to their own lives?" she pointed out a painfully specific scena

The world felt as though it was wrapped in a soft, gray blanket. The sky a smooth, overcast expanse, with clouds ranging from light, wispy streaks to thick, dark masses. The sun's light is diffused, casting a gentle, even glow over everything. The air felt as it had within the waning months of winter, cool and breezy, but not harsh. The low hanging clouds hid any signs of the large, stone disk that was the second floor, though its labyrinth rose from the ground and faded into nothingness far off in the distance. It made the tower seem even more impossibly tall, if one hundred floors wasn't tal

[PP-02] Wax Off, Sass On <<Breaking the Unbreakable>>Adelyte replied to Bliss's topic in Beginner Floors "Hm?" conversation caught her attention from the path to her side. The silence of the monastery broken by three women on the approach, Bliss and two unfamiliar women; all looking fierce and ready for action. Adding her signature to the bottom corner of her drawing - a stylized G.B., rather than her chosen name, Adeltye - she hooked the back of her knees onto the branch she sat on and sat in wait. Like a predator, watching as her prey wandered under her hiding spot, she would pounce into action once the time was right. Falling backwards, her knees keeping her from falling, she would emerge from

[PP | F01] Back in Session <<First Few Lessons>>Adelyte replied to Faerie's topic in Beginner Floors Another cold morning in Aincrad. A crisp breeze snuck in through the crack in the window, its drawn curtains not doing much to block its chilling bite. The room was dimly illuminated not by the light of the sun, failing to shine past the fabric covering the windows, but a table lantern that may have been left burning overnight. There was no risk for it causing a fire, right? Right? Legs left uncovered attempted to retreat into the white sheets that, somehow, had ended up on the floor in the middle of the night. A soft groan rumbled from deep within the mess of turquoise hair as she rolled onto

"Honestly it's, like, not event that big of a deal" Adelyte would respond with an over exaggerated shrug that revealed maybe it was a little bit of a deal to her. Crimson eyes would peer over her shoulder in the direction of the blonde who sat by the sea, a handsome man on each arm - so to speak. "She needed her main character moment, and she seems to be feeling better now. So good for them. Besides, I took it as her needing some space and time on her own.. so I wanted to give that to her. But I guess the guys must eat that up, see a teary eyed damsel who needs a shoulder to cry on. Would see

[PP-02] Wax Off, Sass On <<Breaking the Unbreakable>>Adelyte replied to Bliss's topic in Beginner Floors The split peak of the mountain created a deep valley that housed an ancient looking temple. Walls of grey and brown stone, topped with a pointed roof that bore a resemblance to the scales of a red dragon peeked out over perfectly trimmed trees. The silence of the grounds varied immensely to the rustle and bustle of Urbus' busy streets. Even the air, while it still held a bite, was still and quiet. It was weird not seeing anyone here though.. was she even in the right place? Not many other tall, easily accessible peaks on the second floor, probably even less with old, Japanese architectur

"Go get'er, Tiger" With a gentle push to the back of his shoulder, she saw him off to go chase after the girl. Now about that rock.. She looked down at the stone that had made an enemy of Cobean. Tilting her head at the rock, she would step on it with the heel of her foot. <Immortal Object> "I don't think anyone is breaking this anytime soon, my dude." So instead she just...kicked it - or pushed it, to be exact. Just flipped it over once or twice with her foot. Was it moved from where Cobean tripped over it? Yes. Was it out of the way? Not really. "Lo

"Ohmygosh!" Adelyte exclaimed as she came to a halt. "I never even thought of all the little babies who just wanted to play a game!" Her realization brought on a sudden sadness, distraught by the fact that, not just adults but, children were stuck in this death game. Being forced to survive on their own, without their parents. "Everyone I had met so far was an older teenager.. or an adult. I never would have thought..." The tears that welled in her eyes seemed like drops of saltwater drawn from the sea beside them. When one finally escaped, it traced a slow path down her cheek, like a wave bre

“Oh you know Wulfrin too?” Adelyte perked up, looking over her shoulder at the fisherman on the dock. “He helped me out with a quest I needed to take. Would have been totally boring if he hadn’t come along.” Bringing a hand to her mouth, she spoke as if she was telling a secret, but did not reduce the sound of her voice much, but rather mumbled. “Would you believe me if I told you he spent that whole time fishing too?” She laughed it off as her brain processed talk about making weapons. “Wait, Wulfrin can make weapons?!” smacking herself in the forehead, “Jeezlouise, I should have asked him to
