[F04 – SP] The Winter Fox | <<Feeding Your Enemy>>
Nari-Lanreth replied to Nari-Lanreth's topic in Beginner Floors
Although she wanted to stay seated on the snow, curled up in a ball and ignoring the world around her, Nari knew that she had no choice but to continue on – or turn back and return to Snowfrost. It was far from her to give up so easily, and so, she found herself rising to her feet and heading further into the woodlands, deeper along the path she had been following thus far. The snow continued to crunch against her feet as Nari kept her eyes out for any signs of others in this deserted area. It had been a long time since she’d even seen the small animals of the game anywhere, and she was s -
“I…recently finished becoming a blacksmith. I’ve heard that…that there’s a quest for foraging. I’m thinking that may be beneficial next…” Nari let her eyes roam over the area, taking in the different grasses and plants, the tenderness that the man used to break apart the roots and collect the pieces from them. She couldn’t help but feel a bit of awe at the way in which he handled the plants – it reminded her of the gentleness a farmwoman she once knew had. Nari smiled as the memories of the woman returned, her eyes going distant for a moment. As she came back to her newfound reality, she

[F04 – SP] The Winter Fox | <<Feeding Your Enemy>>
Nari-Lanreth replied to Nari-Lanreth's topic in Beginner Floors
The cold, bitter air had begun to take its toll on Nari as she came to another stop. She figured that she had been travelling for nearly three hours at this point with no sign of her goal. Stopping to breath warm air onto her hands, she closed her eyes, letting the exhaustion her body was feeling have a moment of control. She knew that she couldn’t truly stop and rest here, there was still far too much time left in the day for that to occur. ‘Just a few moments, to give myself a respite. Even I cannot continue walking the entire day, regardless of the willpower.’ Shaking her body from he -
Nari couldn’t quite remember what had originally brought her here – she had been told that the fourth floor was snow covered, and although she had always disliked the winters months, perhaps she had seen it as a way to reconnect with the home she had lost when this whole death game had started. Whatever the reason had been, Nari had spent the last few hours wandering the snow-covered forests beyond the main settlement of Snowfrost. Although she was once again on her own – something that she enjoyed, especially in a silent, somehow soothing environment such as this – she had heard that it was p

[F11 - OP] Christmas Chaos (aka Come Eat All Of Koga's Food)
Nari-Lanreth replied to Koga's topic in Intermediate Floors
Standing slightly off to the side, Nari will suddenly shyly grin, speaking up from her semi-hiding place behind Astreya. Her words – although not nearly as loud or confident as the others, were spoken with what she felt was a confident tone – although they likely still rang with an air of uncertainty and shyness. “You…own a restaurant? I’d love to come try some food…all I’ve had to eat is some half-decent NPC made stuff. Which – don’t get me wrong…it’s not, I mean it’s not great. It’s not horrible. But something better would be better. I mean good. I mean, enjoyable. Can I come too?” -
Nari carefully followed the strange follow at a distance, noticing that he was trying to stay out of arm’s reach, but still within visible sight of her. She took a few glances around as she followed, watching for those glowing bars that stood out of the materials she had come here in search of. She was thankful for the red cape – it acted as a beacon to his location in this world of green, black and brown. It certainly made following his otherwise easily lost form far less difficult than if she had needed to rely on just his movements, or the outline of him against the soft glow of the s

Content with what she had found on this creature’s demise, Nari turned and made her way back across the fields, deciding that she had done more than enough for today. Her muscles were beginning to protest, and she knew that she needed to call it quits before she did something stupid. ‘In this game, you can’t take stupid risks, else it could very well be the last thing you ever do.’ It didn’t take her long to make her way back to the wagon – which she found exactly where she had left it, much to her surprise. The green-clad woman appeared from within upon Nari’s approach, clearly signifyin

Nari smiled to herself as her sword struck – even though the boar managed to slip past her own defences, she had clearly had the stronger strike. Along its side was a large tear that glowed blue – marking where her sword had sliced along its body. In return, the boar had managed to slam into her beneath her shield, driving the edge of its tusk into her thigh as it did so – something that Nari barely even registered as she pulled away from the creature. Stepping back from the boar once more, Nari took a breath, relaxing her muscles and settling back into her ready stance. The tip of her bl

Her approach seemed to alert the creature, and although she attempted to adjust at the last second, the boar managed to jump to the side as her blade swung up and towards it – causing Nari to overstep and miss her attack. In an attempt to retaliate, the boar shoved its head forwards and towards Nari, clattering off her shield as it struck her defences to no avail. Collecting herself, Nari stepped back to give herself a moment to reset. Realising that she couldn’t just rush in and hope for quick success, she decided to take this more carefully, holding her shield in a guard position before

Nari was happily surprised as the boar exploded into a collection of pieces before her. Although she hadn’t gained any useful materials for her blacksmithing, the experience itself had been quite enjoyable. She glanced around, spotting another boar nearby, and deciding it couldn’t hurt, she rushed across the field to meet it. The urge to swing her sword and watch her target explode in finality had caught up with her, and now there was nothing to stop her from engaging in a bit of battle – it was far better than just pulling aside rocks, anyways. As she came closer to the boar, she slowed
-
The under swing proved successful – but also proved the boar with an opening to strike against her, the tusk of the animal slicing across her face as it sailed by. Nari barely even registered the creature’s counter attack as it passed by her. Spinning around, she brought herself back to her feet, stepping forward towards the boar once more in an attempt to bring this fight to a quick close. It was far different from her first engagement – she could already see it severely injured. It had taken her far longer before to cause this much damage, which one showed how she had already progressed
-
Nari twirled to the side as the boar rushed her – the creature heading straight in with a charge faster than Nari had expected. This was completely unlike her last fight – and she wondered for a brief second if the punching of the boulder had dulled her to what combat was truly meant so be. Not ready to think about it too much yet, she completed her twirl, bringing herself around to face the boar. Launching herself forward, she drew her blade down and back, preparing to bring it slashing upwards towards the creature’s soft belly, hoping that it would cause a decent amount of damage.
-
“Alright, that’s it.” Nari hadn’t realised she spoke aloud as she drew her sword and eyed up the closest boar. Making sure that it was far away from anything else that could be pulled in the direction of what she was about to do, she crossed the field, sword and shield readied. ‘If you won’t give up your valuables easily, then I’ll force it from you.’ The venom in her mind’s voice startled Nari as she realised that her anger was taking control, but she was already engaged with the creature as she came to the realisation that this may not have been the best option. She paused as she

Her positive attitude clearly wasn’t making Cardinal feel any sympathy towards her. Her most recent spot turned out to be another dud, and she wondered what she needed to do to have some damned success with this. She never would have thought that searching for basic materials would be this hard – or this testing. She knew that games didn’t make it easy, but this…this was getting to be a bit absurd. Nari considered for a moment simply giving up and returning to the woman at the wagon and calling it a day – before tossing the idea aside. She had no intent of quitting – either here, or on th

‘Yup, that’s about right.’ Nari thought as she pawed through the area, finding absolutely nothing beyond a few rocks and a lot of grass and dirt. It was turning into a real game of look-and-find-nothing, or so it was seeming to her. She straightened up from the spot she had just been searching through, fighting back the urge to simply unsheathe her sword and rush the closest thing that even looked remotely attack-worthy. ‘Calm, is the warrior’s heart should they wish to be victorious.’ The words ran through Nari’s head – a saying her Sempai had told her many years ago, back when she first
-
‘Alright, now it’s just mocking me.’ Nari stared at the glowing bar in her hand, sighing at the irony of it all. If one could call it irony. She gave the dirt another kick, this time in what she hoped was good humour, and not anger, before looking for a new spot to search through. She was still considering attacking one of the boars if this didn’t quickly progress in the positive manner for her, but for now she was content to do some rock turning and dirt digging – if only because it was easier, and she wanted a break from tenuous work. She had had enough pain and suffering from that ques

"U-Uh.. yeah. Yeah I'm a frontliner. I... took a bit of a .. break from the last boss fight, but I'll be joining back up with the raid team once they've scouted out the boss on the Twenty Seventh Floor." “Oh, yeah? I uh…have some questions for you. I want to know how to get…” Nari’s voice will drop off as she sees a familiar face moving through the crowd. Feeling herself flush slightly she’ll continue hurriedly to Jomei, “…how to get on the frontlines – I just saw someone I know. Uhm. I…I’ll be right back, okay?!” Not waiting for a response, Nari will push through the crowd to Astre

Nari feels her left-hand shift slightly, the sword jerking ever so softly as the man drew forth his cloak and the blue stone. She had nothing more to do than to watch and wait, to see what he would do, but as he seemed to pause, she nodded, taking a few steps towards him. His oddness hadn’t diminished at all, and she began to wonder what his game was, but for the time being he seemed willing to lead her around, and that was something she couldn’t turn down. ‘Plus, he did draw me a map, which was awfully nice of him. So maybe he’s not all that bad…’ She hoped her estimation on that was cor

Nari will spend a good moment pondering the words, knowing that there was something behind them. She wondered for a moment if it wasn’t a warning to her – if this man wasn’t giving her the chance to escape something that could truly be dangerous. ‘If he were trying to trap you and lead you to danger, would he give you such a warning?’ “I…do not trust you, but I will travel with you, if you would have me. But do not think for a moment that I will leave my blade sheathed should I suspect danger.” Her voice has an edge of a warning to it – nothing more than the subtle reminder that she herse

accepted by. As they passed the guard and the gates out of the town, Nari felt herself relax. There were fewer chances of running into people out here - and although she travelled with these three, she felt...somehow at ease with them. Well, except maybe this Bismuth. His continuous smiling at her was...odd. She wondered if he was being overly nice for a specific reason - maybe he was waiting until her guard was down? Shrugging it aside, she let her eyes roam around the area, looking for anything that could be considered glowy and standing out against the general landscape. She reall -
Nari will hesitantly take the piece of paper, glancing at it briefly. She wondered about this odd individual, out here all by themselves. He was certainly an oddity, even by Nari's standards. But mayhaps he could help her. He did seem familiar with the area, after all... "I...know this is asking a lot. But you seem...well, not trustworthy, but not immediately dangerous. And familiar with this area. If...if you had the time, could you maybe, show me some good places for scrounging up materials?" She eyed the man as she spoke, watching for any sign of a threat in his movements, or ev

"I'm..." Nari paused, wondering if there was any harm. He seemed honest enough - or at least not a threat, at this time. His cursor was green, for what little that meant. "I'm lost. I came out here looking for some materials...for, well - I'm a blacksmith. By trade. Or, I mean in here. In the game. So I'm looking for materials. For blacksmithing." Nari realised she was rambling again, and paused to take a breath. Glancing about, she realised that this man seemed to be the only lifeline out here. "Do you...know how to get back? I think I've been out here for hours, wandering around..."

Nari gave the dirt a slight kick in annoyance. She hadn’t found anything in the last hour of searching, and was starting to wonder if she was doing something wrong. She glared at the area she had kicked, as if willing it to defy her anger. ‘Stupid game. Stupid drop rates. Or find rates. Whatever! Stupid everything.’ A few curses slipped past her lips, sounding loud against the otherwise quiet air. She kicked the dirt once more, hoping it would make her feel better – and getting more annoyed when it didn’t. Realising that this was getting her nowhere, she made a promise to herself –

Nari couldn't help but wonder what she was doing out here - her very first experience of the third floor, and she was already lost. She wondered if she shouldn't head back...then remembered that she was lost. Kind of a big concern, when one was trying to get back. Sighing to herself, Nari pushed forward, forcing the brush before her aside as she tried to remember exactly why she was here, and where she needed to go. The sound of movement caught her attention - subtle, against the few sounds of the forest she was in. Cautiously drawing her blade in her left hand, she stepped forward throug
