  2. PH. -> MAIN ACTION: ST-I vs Lessa. Going Mad: Unequip weapon.
  3. Yue Hua was sprawled out on her lounge, her feet hanging off the seat's arm and the full length of her feathered tail draped over the backrest. Gentle sunlight shone through the glass front of her brewery. This late into the morning hours, the sun had grown just warm enough to chase away her drowsiness, to turn idling into a near uncomfortable pursuit, but Yue Hua was more determined to not move at all than to search for a cooler spot to lay in. She distracted herself with the comforting rhythmic motions of endlessly running a brush through her hair, her eyes half-shut. On the coffee table bes
  4. Oh, the woes of the materially rich. Yue Hua matched her opponent's stance and nodded. "Yes. Simple is good, too." She didn't speak again. After her first loss of the tournament, she needed back every ounce of her focus. The timer hit zero and Lessa claimed first move. She didn't attack; instead, she raised her sword and a soft blue light washed over her. A [Hyperactive] buff -- as a support build herself, Yue Hua had cast it on many a teammate. So -- she's gearing up for a long fight, after all? Or she was playing into her strengths. Lessa's build had been difficult to plot around.
  5. PH -> SWIFT ACTION: Using Antidote Crystal. -> MAIN ACTION: TECH-A vs Katoka.
  6. "The Trackers have an outpost here," Yue Hua said to her opponent conversationally. She and Lessa took their positions on opposite sides of the ring, which would ordinarily set them a bit too far for either to talk without raising their voices, if it weren't for the dead silence of their surroundings. "Well. We are trying to," Yue Hua corrected herself. "'Tis difficult to build anything under all this rain. Much more if we are angling to hold up against 29's staggering risk assessment. Having spent some time here, though, I am inclined to believe that the events of the first day were the excep
  7. --Only if she cared enough to notice it. A gasp escaped Yue Hua's throat as Katoka's attack shredded through half of her HP. Of course, why would she need to? The damage from the caltrops was laughable in comparison; if Katoka just pushed hard enough, she could end this match in her second strike. And she was gracious. "Good shot," Yue Hua wheezed, stumbling back, her teeth baring in a grin. She shoved her hand in her coat pocket and found her sole health crystal, cracking it in half. "How much work does it take to get a weapon of that like? For reference." They both straig
  8. No hard feelings. Yue Hua liked that in a duelist. “Don’t worry,” she returned her opponent’s grin with a calm smile of her own, “I made my shop purchases assuming you would last long enough to at least try and hit me thrice.” Their hosts had situated them in the desert for it was easier to hide things in the sand. Yue Hua decided not to concern herself about it for the moment. Katoka was more dangerous. The countdown hit zero, and the swordswoman’s eyes sharpened and she charged, her immediate aggression leading her to claim the first move. She took aim and swung. But midway through

  11. Yue Hua opened her mouth. There were no inaccuracies in Kindling's introduction. If she really wanted to split hairs over it, she might point out that Katoka looked more like a wannabe samurai than Koga. But Kindling had pronounced her preferred name right and she was touched. Yue Hua gave an approving nod. "Not today," she threatened. She had a vested interest in keeping this fight as short as the last. The air was hot and she had never quite gotten used to fighting on sand. She had her hair up and her heavier vanities off, and across from her stood Katoka, wielding the same threate
  12. "Ghosts. Distortions, any type of. Plant and animal species spawning in the wilds of floors where they normally shouldn't survive," Yue Hua was happy to clarify. They continued to traipse forward, leaves crunching beneath their feet. On this level, they rarely had to worry about aggressive mobs unless they tripped into their hideouts or approached guarded objects themselves. She had little knowledge of the reformatted map, so the best she could do was steer them clear of the paths of wandering boars. Otherwise, she was more concerned with her talking. From the prickling at the back of her
  13. Koga had dutifully informed her he was taken. The lights were dimmed, romantic music was playing. Yue Hua told him she wasn't going to dump the candles and roses, this was the prettiest dinner she had been to in a while, and would likely be in -- ever, unless she changed her type. She was certain neither Dexter nor Corvo had a single romantic bone in their body, as nice as their other bones were for other purposes, and she was un-certain that she had a shot with Telrenya. So, dinner was set up for some play at a romance, but their talk revolved around strategy. It was nothing worth putting in
  14. "Nnn--" No? Some people could be so bold. She had thought she was the type until she realized she was overestimating what was really just a certain level of ease around others. Yue Hua slid a foot back at their sudden proximity then gave a tiny jolt when she bumped against the edge of the table displaying Giovanna's far-too-expensive wares. At that point, her summoning of the party screen was purposeful. "With some warning," Yue Hua amended. Corvo haughtily got rid of her cover. As with almost every other man of average or above height in this game, she had to tilt her hea
  15. [I'm... spectating myself?] Telrenya v. Pollux - 12:30 PM "Oooh! A returning frontliner!" marveled a white hooded figure, about 5'1" tall, balanced precariously on the first rung of the guard rail lining the outermost audience row. She was marked by a yellow cursor. Artificial; like a solid half of the crowd. Her excitement was vivid even from beneath the shadow of her hood. "Times like these, it's more fun to cheer for the challenger! Pollux!! Plant her into the ground!" A pair had exchanged handshakes earlier. These two kept to th
  16. And just like that-- "Time!" Yue Hua instinctively extinguished the light of her sword the moment she sensed the entry of a third party into the ring. Kindling stepped into view, and Yue Hua's movements ground to a stiff halt, the match's adrenaline seeming to drain out of her all at once. They'd ran up to time, which meant... what, again? She could barely recall, her mind as bleary as her vision. With some difficulty, she straightened as Kindling's scrutiny passed over her, her eyes flickering to Telrenya in the pause. The spear was raised. It drew a downwards curve in the air
  17. For every misstep she might have made, every unexpected hurdle Yue Hua had thrown her way, Telrenya recovered just as quickly. Yue Hua had given her a moment to get back on her feet -- she wasn't about to start beating down an opponent that was already on the ground during a fair duel; part of the fault was on her for not scoring the hit while Telrenya was standing -- and the moment she had, Yue Hua lunged, and what would have been a brutal stunning blow cleaved through empty air. Perhaps she was also running out of steam. Her energy bar had a solid chunk remaining, merely trickling downw
  18. Yua Hua, partway through an attack of her own, almost startled. She had tracked the movement of Telrenya’s blade, realized what she was trying to do at the last moment, and narrowly leapt over her opponent’s sweeping leg. She landed unsteady on one foot and pivoted as she placed down the other, sending a stunning sword art flying in Telrenya’s direction. Telrenya rolled out of the way and Yue Hua yanked her sword out of the ground, flicking it up to block a counterattack. The miniature shockwave blew back Yue Hua’s bangs as their blades briefly locked once again. The crowd was going wild
  19. Missed. Telrenya was gone, faster than the wind. Yue Hua missed the advantage the pheromones had given her but she couldn't deny she was beginning to enjoy their exchanges more without it. For the first time since she had walked into the makeshift arena, the corners of her lips pulled up into a faint smile. She followed the arc her partner's leap drew in the air, briefly meeting the other's eyes while she was upside down, and she caught the reflection of sunlight against something made out of glass. The potion doused her hair and the white coat she wore loose around her bare shoulder
  20. No sooner had Telrenya finished healing than Yue Hua was on her again, her sword at the ready. So that answered part of her question. Telrenya had a second wind. Those healing items came cheap though; would there be a third? Yue Hua was not sure she could still pull through if there was. Her offense grew more aggressive, pressuring her opponent as much as she could for as long as her sword held the light of the weaker single-target art. She internally pulled apart her now-obsolete strategy and built another, and Telrenya's thin blade, racing to block one of Yue Hua's attacks, rattled unde
